An antique ornament
Reflections in an antique ornament
Of lights of green and reds
Of silver tinsel, candy canes
Distorted reflections of children’s heads
Reflections in a kitty cat’s eyes
Of red and green, and mischievous delight
In the feline notion of newfound highs
Of a tree he’ll scale tonight
Reflections of brightly wrapped presents
Piled atop folds of faux-snow cotton
Of pine needles shedding amber essence
Creating memories ne’er to be forgotten
Reflections of a time worn sofa
Reflections of a husband and wife
Reflecting on that antique ornament
And the antique ornament…reflecting life

Reflections
Through the mirror of my mind
Time after time
I see reflections of you and me
Reflections of the way life used to be
Reflections of the love you took from me
I'm all alone now
No love to shield me
Trapped in a world that's
a distorted reality.
Happiness you took from me
and left me alone
with only memories.
Through the mirror of my mind
Through these tears that I'm crying
Reflects the hurt I can't control
Cause although you're gone
I keep holding on
to the happy times
ooh when you were mine
AS I peer out through the window
of lost time
Looking over my yesteryear
And all this love I gave all in vain
(all the love) All the love I've wasted
(all those tears) All the tears that I've tasted
(ooh ,ooh) All in vain
(all in vain , till nothing remains)
Through the hollow of my tears
I see a dream that's lost
From the hurt
That you have caused
Everywhere I turn
seems like everything I see
Reflects the love that used to be
In you I put all my faith and trust
and right before my eyes my world has turned to dust
After all those nights I sat alone and wept
Just a hand full of promises and all that's left of loving you
Reflections of
the way life used to be
Reflections of
the love you took from me
in you I put all my faith and trust
right before my eyes my world was turned to dust

High Spirits
This is an instrumental done with the Chieftains, in three sections. The first is up-tempo, a jig; the shorter second features Celtic chants by the Chieftains; the third slows the pace a bit and has Van doing a few da-da-das. The three sections are repeated, then parts 1 & 2 are done a third time before a fadeout of chants.

That Face
I see a face that face is mine
The mirror marks the changing time
Her face Ill never see again
And mine will never be the same
That face was fine only yesterday
My problems seemed so far away
Reflections I see of myself
As in sickness as in health
As she left as for worse
No chance to re-rehearse
Try to forget try not to see
Who is that face looking at me
Reflections of yesterday
If only I could make you stay
One day past is like a year
She wouldnt say what made her leave
I didnt think shed ever go
And why she did Ill never know
I wish I could return and see
But now its just a memory
Reflections of yesterday
Reflections of yesterday
I see a face that face is mine
The mirror marks the changing time
Her face Ill never see again
And mine will never be the same
Reflections of yesterday
Reflections of yesterday

If I produce it, I will stage it as a performance. A small audience will be invited; rehearsals of the sections will be done in the mornings, and those sections will be recorded in the afternoons.

a window paned

divided up sections
closed off sections

sealed
clear glass emotions
suffering clear seen
behind walls not hidden
pertained putty
applied sealants
sectioned glass
fixing broken

Everything Is Not Enough
It doesnt help you if you scream and shout
That isnt what this thing is all about
And do you really want to fight to win
Youre missing out and thats another sin
Your dream of power is a sacrifice
Do you really want to pay that price
Just think about it and youll change the pace
Look in the mirror tell me who do you face
Who is that?
Its everything, everything is not enough
I want it all, thats tough, thats tough, thats tough
Another dream, another dream, another dream goes pop
This is the time, lets stop, lets stop, lets stop
Nobody loves you if you moan all day
So take it easy then youll get your way
You aint no dummy and Im sure you know
You know its better if you let it go
Youre in control if you let it go
Youre feeling better when you let it flow
You never really had to catch the moon
Youre better jumping to another tune
So lets jump
Its everything, everything is not enough
I want it all, thats tough, thats tough, thats tough
Another dream, another dream, another dream goes pop
This is the time, lets stop, lets stop, lets stop
Its everything, everything is not enough
I want it all, thats tough, thats tough, thats tough
Another dream, another dream, another dream goes pop
This is the time, lets stop, lets stop, lets stop (do, do, do it)
Ive got it all but its not enough
I keep thinking boy I feel so rough
This cant be me, Im such a happy guy
I laugh a lot but I want to cry
A cry for help is just letting go
It hurts a lot but I think I know
Its time for change I dont need the hype
Its time for change and the time is ripe
So lets go
Its everything, everything is not enough
I want it all, thats tough, thats tough, thats tough
Another dream, another dream, another dream goes pop
This is the time, lets stop, lets stop, lets stop
Its everything, everything is not enough
I want it all, thats tough, thats tough, thats tough
Another dream, another dream, another dream goes pop
This is the time, lets stop, lets stop, lets stop
Its everything, everything is not enough
I want it all, thats tough, thats tough, thats tough
Another dream, another dream, another dream goes pop
This is the time, lets stop, lets stop, lets stop...

Indian Reflections
The tiger waded further on,
He had some place to go,
Somewhere to be, where sunlight shone,
So bright as if aglow!
Not here, while waters gently stream,
Reflections here and there,
Confusing him, as in some dream,
That caught him unaware...
The river's mud stirred up and swirled,
Reflections came and went,
Such that he strode a worried world,
His time there almost spent...
While bubbles surfaced now and then
To pop and disappear!
Such wonders were beyond his ken,
The kind he needn't fear...
The tiger looked back one last time,
Content that he must leave,
Although at first it felt sublime,
He saw no cause to grieve...
The river would be here next week,
Upon his glad return!
For now, his feet dry land would seek...
His legend he must earn!

Deep In The Dream
deep in the dream
the dreamer feels the flow
(fury fading away)
ask not
why this dream
dreaming the dreamer
awake into a dream of a different kind
the dream of a different mind
set
assuming the assumptions of dreamer
deep within this dream
drifting away with the current with the flow
fleetingly taking flight dreaming The dream

For My late WIFE
For my late Wife
And you my dear whenever,
I close my eyes and back I go,
They start like rain shedding tear,
With me you are not though.
Like a dream it was that nearly one year,
Come see and feel if you can,
Alone I stand seeking you far and near,
On my face the smile, hope and the pain.
Desire I a strange unattainable dream,
Would that I could take the time back,
It gives me pleasure though odd it seem,
But losing this dream my heart will crack
You know what all this is? Oh love mine,
Something to keep you alive, and keep me thine.

Marigold Sky
If you had a dream did it happen
If you stop and think for a little while
Try to make up faces that once were real
Even though it seemed like a lifetime
Wasnt really more than a short ride
But it left me memories
That time cant steal
Chorus:
Oh my...marigold sky
Gold leaf reflections on the ocean
Yeah I was lost in the light
Like sand in a shell
She holds me
We were tryin to be so enlightened
Movin on from father, son and holy ghost
Trippin on the passion, hooked on love
Was I ever yours were you ever mine
Did we ever loose
What we tried to find
Wasnt all that passion a dream enough
Chorus:
Oh my...marigold sky
Gold sea reflections on the ocean
Yeah, I was lost in your light
That time was so right
I realize, realize
When a love is lost! its all so real
Broken heart needs oh so long to heal (oh no)
Though the magic happened some time ago
I know its alive
Ltll never grow cold
Marigold
Marigold sky
If you had a dream did it happen
If you stop and think for a little while
Can you bring back times that were once so real
Chorus: (repeat)

Reflections
I sometimes have cyrstal clear reflections of you
The things you would often say,
or the actions you would do
I can still hear the songs you use to sing also
hum too
These are just a few of the ways
that Iam reminded of you
You often informed me,
That a new beginning would come
You also said that only when the people really
Demanded change, then it would be done
I have so many reflections that are filled with just simple fun,
of games we played that you also won.
These vivid reflections symbolizes hope
They serve as healing when I really need it most.

The Legacy Of A Dreamer
Someone said that I’m a dreamer,
And if that’s really true—
I’d like to dream the kind of dreams
That few dreamers do.
I would dream the fairest dream—
One that I could share
With rich, poor and so much more
Of people everywhere.
I would dream constructive dreams,
With new ideas on which to build—
Accomplishing elaborate schemes,
By labor and by will.
I would dream impossible dreams
And diligently pursue.
And I would work tenaciously
To make those dreams come true.
I’d dream away the hurt and pain
That sin has caused us all.
I’d dream away the clouds and rain
That linger from the fall.
I’d dream lofty, noble dreams
With aims and goals set high,
And strive to fulfill each dream
Before THE DREAMER dies.

See Me In Your Eyes
I've been walkin' all night, thinkin' of you
The other lovers and all we've been through
We're just too much alike, but we're two worlds apart
I try to hide it but you still got my heart
And I can't dream without you, baby can we give it just one more try
Chorus:
I wanna see me in your eyes tonight
I wanna talk it over and hear you tell me it's alright
Shine reflections through the early morning light
Girl, I wanna see me in your eyes tonight
Well I saw you today with some other man
You're still pretending, it's all I can stand
Pictures of you with somebody else
It keeps me wonderin' when I'm by myself
And I can't dream without you, baby can we give it just one more try,
ohh
(chorus)
(Solo)
It's not like it's the first time, it might not be the last
You told me once that it's all over, still I keep on running back
(Solo)
It's not like it's the first time, it might not be the last
You told me once that it's all over, still I keep on running back
I wanna see me in your eyes tonight
I wanna talk it over and hear you tell me it's alright
Shine reflections through the early morning light, ohh
I wanna see me in your eyes tonight
I wanna hold you closer and tell you everything's alright
Shine reflections through the early morning light
Girl, I wanna see me in your eyes tonight, in your eyes tonight, whoa

Shedding The Old Man
Shedding the old man.
I feel I should.
And feeling great enough,
To say that I can.
So why not?
Philosophies adopted as to what is old,
I don't accept to reflect to others...
A perception of it.
To sit and portray aging that way.
I don't limp!
I hop.
With pain felt or hot.
Because I am shedding the old man.
Even though in the mornings,
It may take me a while to stand.
Shedding the old man.
I feel I should.
And feeling great enough,
To say that I can.
So why not?
Now...
If I can only remember,
Where I put my glasses.

Dionysian Fool.
The shadow of the man I am
The shadow of the forest Pan
Dionysian fool.
Strange reflections upon this hour
This time this place is ours
Never mine alone
Of the earth I love my home
From pain to pleasure, seeking treasures lost.
The guillotine – Empires rising – blades falling
Piercing fresh flesh torn and bleeding
Here I am in suffering
Confess the order rearranged
Chameleon skin in changing
Shedding the memories of the dead
Ripe death in composition.
