Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labour the body.
Related quotes
Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body.
Man is to himself the most wonderful object in nature; for he cannot conceive what the body is, still less what the mind is, and least of all how a body should be united to a mind. This is the consummation of his difficulties, and yet it is his very being.

Strengthen My Faith
Strengthen my faith,
Father.
Wherever You are.
Wherever I am.
Whenever it's done.
Stengthen my faith,
Father.
Wherever I go.
And whomever I may know...
Let this show.
I am the son of You the One.
Strengthen my faith,
Father.
Let it reveal,
Just how I feel.
In every way...
With no debating,
Or temptations awaiting to test...
To lead me astray!
Let the 'light' shine,
A divine mind within me.
Knowing,
And showing...
I can grow!
Let me define,
How You are there inside me.
Guiding with a hold...
I can not let go!
Strengthen my faith,
Father.
Wherever You are.
Wherever I am.
Whenever it's done.
I will be right here...
Expressing without doubt,
Who and What fulfills all my needs!
Even 'if' and when I am found on my knees...
Pleading.

A Preface
To all to whom this little book may come--
Health for yourselves and those you hold most dear!
Content abroad, and happiness at home,
And--one grand Secret in your private ear: --
Nations have passed away and left no traces,
And History gives the naked cause of it--
One single, simple reason in all cases;
They fell because their peoples were not fit.
Now, though your Body be mis-shapen, blind,
Lame, feverish, lacking substance, power or skill,
Certain it is that men can school the Mind
To school the sickliest Body, to her will--
As many have done, whose glory blazes still
Like mighty flames in meanest lanterns lit:
Wherefore, we pray the crippled, weak and ill--
Be fit--be fit! In mind at first be fit!
And, though your Spirit seem uncouth or small,
Stubborn as clay or shifting as the sand,
Strengthen the Body, and the Body shall
Strengthen the Spirit till she take command;
As a bold rider brings his horse in hand
At the tall fence, with voice and heel and bit,
And leaps while all the field are at a stand.
Be fit--be fit! In body next be fit!
Nothing on earth--no Arts, no Gifts, no Graces--
No Fame, no Wealth--outweighs the wont of it.
This is the Law which every law embraces--
Be fit--be fit! In mind and body be fit!
The even heart that seldom slurs its beat--
The cool head weighing what that heart desires--
The measuring eye that guides the hands and feet--
The Soul unbroken when the Body tires--
These are the things our weary world requires
Far more than superfluities of wit;
Wherefore we pray you, sons of generous sires,
Be fit--be fit! For Honour's sake be fit.
There is one lesson at all Times and Places--
One changeless Truth on all things changing writ,
For boys and girls, men, women, nations, races--
Be fit -- be fit! And once again, be fit!

Wordless understanding
What greater joy could there be
Than when a lad and a lass
Are set to feel that they like
Each other and are joined together
To strengthen each other in all labour
To rest on each other in all sorrows
And to help each other in all pain
And to be one with each other
In silence, wordless understanding?

Division of labour
Some are averse to manual lobour
And some, to intellectual labour..
Both chose to strengthen their aversion
And take little trouble to be otherwise.
As a result, both depend on each other
And conveniently exploit each other.

When I’m Perturbed
When I am perturbed
I don’t know
Where to go and what do?
I lose my patience
The mind is agitated
No relief from any where
Thoughts do not stop
I keep on thinking
The world
Is a useless place
Full of difficulties
Everybody is selfish
Love and affection
Doesn’t exist
Anger and frustration
Rules me
I pray to god
Ask him
How to end all this?
God doesn’t reply
But slowly the mind
Cools down
I start talking to myself
To my surprise
I find
I am to be blamed
For many miseries
My own actions
Increased my difficulties
I decide to take lesson
From the mistakes
I committed
Things become better
For me
The world now looks
A better place to live in

When You Gonna Wake Up?
God dont make no promises that he dont keep.
You got some big dreams, baby, but in order to dream you gotta still be asleep.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
Counterfeit philosophies have polluted all of your thoughts.
Karl marx has got ya by the throat, henry kissingers got you tied up in knots.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
You got innocent men in jail, your insane asylums are filled,
You got unrighteous doctors dealing drugs thatll never cure your ills.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
You got men who cant hold their peace and women who cant control their tongues,
The rich seduce the poor and the old are seduced by the young.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
Adulterers in churches and pornography in the schools,
You got gangsters in power and lawbreakers making rules.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
Spiritual advisors and gurus to guide your every move,
Instant inner peace and every step you take has got to be approved.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
Do you ever wonder just what God requires?
You think hes just an errand boy to satisfy your wandering desires.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
You cant take it with you and you know that its too worthless to be sold,
They tell you, time is money as if your life was worth its weight in gold.
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?
Theres a man up on a cross and hes been crucified.
Do you have any idea why or for who he died?
When you gonna wake up, when you gonna wake up
When you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain?

Imbedded
Six weeks spent in quarantine.
And five months being probed,
In isolation and daily disrobed...
Over every inch of my body,
By those clothed and masked...
To microscope every crevice I had,
Is a memory I will never forget.
Imbedded in my mind,
Is that time I experienced feeling totally alone.
To say today...
There is nothing to compared to it.
Nor the reaction from those I received to get,
Who chose to gossip with embellished innuendos.
While my faith remained to strengthen....to me shows.
There is nothing to compared to it this I admit.
Nor the reaction from those visiting with images.
Who chose to gossip with embellished innuendos.
While my faith remained to strengthen.
And the few I will never forget,
Who did their very best to get me back on my feet.
Blessed are they,
Who did not wish secretly to see me defeated.
Since my healing completely,
Reveals with clarity what those of closed minds...
Would never suspect is shown to make known,
When one is assisted to climb to a higher consciousness.

Unknown
A lost world
With so much suffering and pain
Nothing is ever understood
Occurrences often create trouble
Mind, goes berserk due to difficulties
How to handle the pain?
Is unknown
Life and a lost world
With suffering and pain
Due to difficulties a person becomes helpless
It is like being lost, with the wind
Unknown is life and unknown is world.
