No, the Mirror Is Not Broken

Trivial
A proclamation left unheard
A nihilist facing charges of murder
Trivial
A prayer left unanswered
An atheist born into the world
Trivial
Brought beneath a feet of debt
Pushed to the edge
I am the answer but nobody will sway
Not my God, for he is dead
Not my family, for they are miles away
Not my lover, for she hates me
I can see the end of the earth
There is an onslaught of miss-happenings
It would seem that these
Are
Ones which will never come to life
Trivial

What is the use of reading the common news of the day, the tragic deaths and abuses of daily living, when for over half a lifetime we have known that they must have occurred just as they have occurred given the conditions that cause them? There is no light in it. It is trivial fill-gap. We know the plane will crash, the train be derailed. And we know why. No one cares, no one can care. We get the news and discount it, we are quite right in doing so. It is trivial. But the haunted news I get from some obscure patient's eyes is not trivial. It is profound.

Trivial Misconception

An event is trivial for those
In whom triviality rests
A drawback
Which drops one back
Like static water in the pond
Budding endemics
But he who has the desire
Looks for monumental in trivial
He sees the lotus bloom
In endemic ponds womb.

No matter—now—Sweet

704

No matter—now—Sweet—
But when I'm Earl—
Won't you wish you'd spoken
To that dull Girl?

Trivial a Word—just—
Trivial—a Smile—
But won't you wish you'd spared one
When I'm Earl?

I shan't need it—then—
Crests—will do—
Eagles on my Buckles—
On my Belt—too—

Ermine—my familiar Gown—
Say—Sweet—then
Won't you wish you'd smiled—just—
Me upon?

Nature is Game for Life

Nature is game for life
no matter how small it is
how trivial each is.
it soon raises dust
to a creature, infuses its own thoughts
so that it livens up life.

look at the clouds in the sky,
sooner or later, the winds blow
them into shapes of birds, rabbits
and doggies....nature is game for life..
no matter how trivial they ar

We Bury Our Burdens

we carry a sack
full of everything
the trivial and not so trivial
to the others
which we sometimes
deem to be
important

we start cramping things
in a small pack
a pair of shoes, a plaque,
a bat, white polo shirt,
underwear, the certificates,
some poems even
a book about
romance with some
molds on the hard cover

where shall i bury all these things?
for i am moving to
another place
this morning

i wait for the high tide
or which comes first
the dusty early morning
on the road
this cranky motor vehicle
bound for the
dry mountain
where a hole is ready
tagging a shovel

Frivolous And Trivial Are Not The Same

Do you 'really' wish to know,
Just how frivolous these times we live...
Can be?
I am not out to prove this.
But it was you who stated with authority,
I was exaggerating!
And did so with sarcasism and negativity.

You have a TV I am sure?
Most people today have three.
Uplug your video games from one of them.
And tune into your news channels...
With a listening done to how your politicians,
Plan with your money...
To control your destiny.

After you've done that...
Tune into 'any' REALITY TV program.
These shows reflect,
With a bit of entertainment injected...
Just what is outside your door.

'First of all!
I did not say these times were frivolous.
I said they were trivial! '
Frivolous and trivial are not the same.
And I didn't have to go to college to know that! '

Ooooohhhh...
I see!
Forgive me.
How could I have ever mistaken the difference.
Sorry to interrupt your video game.

'No problem.
This is the only 'reality' I REALLY get.'

Trivialities- Not To Me

I've collected many a trivial thing
and kept them in a box.
Occasionally I will look at them
and my memory it unlocks.

They have no value to anyone else
but to me they've found a place
to bring back a scene I remember
to put a smile upon my face.

If someone finds this box someday
and wonders 'what is this? '
Before they discard all these things
there's something they would miss.

They'd miss what these little things did
for the one that left them behind.
For never could they picture the scenes
nor could they ever find

how these trivialities in the box
were only special to see
by the one that lived the scenes they were from
for I took those scenes with me.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Lover's Petition

Good Heart, that ownest all!
I ask a modest boon and small:
Not of lands and towns the gift,--
Too large a load for me to lift,--
But for one proper creature,
Which geographic eye,
Sweeping the map of Western earth,
Or the Atlantic coast, from Maine
To Powhatan's domain,
Could not descry.
Is't much to ask in all thy huge creation,
So trivial a part,--
A solitary heart?

Yet count me not of spirit mean,
Or mine a mean demand,
For 't is the concentration
And worth of all the land,
The sister of the sea,
The daughter of the strand,
Composed of air and light,
And of the swart earth-might.
So little to thy poet's prayer
Thy large bounty well can spare.
And yet I think, if she were gone,
The world were better left alone.

Trivia Questions

Before you
there was nothing
and after
you, there will be nothing.
I've always told you, young lad,
how you remind me
of Lord Krishna.

As you bathe in the light of
nuclear holocaust,
your outstretched arms transform
into IV hangers.
The softest, most tranquil
valium
runs laps through
my nervous system.

Oh how the rays of misty light
look beautiful
on your expressionless forehead.
I just want to kiss them off.
Remember that one time we argued
because I wouldn't
follow
your advice?
I'm sorry. Please forget about it?
It was trivial. It was all trivial.
Trivia questions:
Who was the 9th president?
What is the 14th ammendment?
Who was Eva Braun?
In what year
did the poet
Carl Adam Ingwell die?
What were his major accomplishments?
Trivia.
All that matters right now
is that nothing matters.
But doesn't that mean that something
matters?

Let's just dance, you and I,
shoeless
upon these clouds of death.

Where Is My Mind?

Where is my mind?
Where has it gone?
Like a leaf pushed by wind,
it has traveled the earth.

It has become a part of the hated,
and now makes it a part of me.
Do I deserve to die under a December moon?
O mist! Cover me forever.

O tombstone of mine, do you now wither?
Weeping willows, receive me with open arms!
A shadow that died has sprung to life,
and now he's back to claim his haunt.

I'm sick of saying sorry,
repeating, repeating in my head.
My mind, trivial is its story.
You must be sick and I dead.

When money means nothing

to those blessed with the power of money unlimited

Reflecting on life as it runs upstream
I'm left amazed on how trivial triumphs
Small gestures of love, of understanding
Have etched their mark on the sands of time

Money has no place when it means happiness
Can priceless gifts bring on one, smiles?
Impossible dreams left uncherished
When sadness engulfs one in miles

Men with its power, please remember
Happiness can never be bought
It stems within to be searched out
Then you too shall acclaim that......

MONEY HAS NO PLACE - WHERE THERE IS LOVE
AND YOU SHALL REALIZE THAT LOVE MEANS HAPPINESS

From The Ashes Of Your Phoenix

AS i wait for you
i have become an insomniac
for so many
trivial
justifications

for instance
writing so many poems
that alienate myself
from the world

i have been keeping hope against hope
that someday the dead shall rise from their graves

that love shall have a rebirth
from the ashes
of your phoenix

Frivolous Tonight

Let us talk about some trivial things we like
A bit of this and that
Lets chew the fat
Pour ourselves a glass of stout
And let our rael brook shirts hang out
Nothing makes us more content
To let us wallow in a bit of nonsense
Were all so frivolous tonight, tonight
Lets reveal our childlike nature
And leave our stocks and invoices to rot
Lets go to pot
Tell our jokes about mothers in law
But watch him jump when she comes through the door
Oh the party goes with a swing
When we talk about the trivial things
Were all so frivolous tonight
But theres always one
Who wants to talk shop
Well drive him through the door
With a broom or a mop
Let us tell our favourite story
About some poor chap who put it on display
Hip hooray
And let the girls gather in their slacks
To talk about husbands hairy backs
Some might think were a bit of a shower
But this could be our finest hour
Were all so frivolous tonight, tonight
Were all so ridiculous tonight.
