I Do Like His Dog

Surly looking and hung over after a night on the grog
I cannot say I do like him much though I do like his dog
His golden retriever on seeing me wags her tail
Of making a new friend of every opportunity she does avail
She does not have him to thank for her nice personality
The man and his dog look at life differently
Out walking the retriever after a row with his wife
Hung over and feeling quite hard done by life
But his female dog of people not in any way indifferent or shy
A great love of humanity she seems to enjoy
With her surly master as she walks down the street
She wags her tail at everyone she does meet
The dog and her master different as chalk and cheese
But then dogs than us far more easy to please.

The Black Dog

early morning when
the door of the house is finally opened
the black dog enters
missing his master
the owner of the door of the house
it wants to speak
but since it has no power over the words
it simply wags its tail
puts his head on the lap of the master
and from this gesture
one can see
that everything is well said
by it...

Just A Friendly Small Dog

Just a small brown and white jack russell with a stub for a tail
Yet when it comes to trust and loyalty his master he never fail
One who will never know of canine renown
Yet to his mentor he is the best dog in the town
With a ball or a stick he loves for to play
Just a friendly terrier friendly in every way
Yet his master with his life he'd defend
'Tis true what is said of a four legged friend
Respect for his master in love and devotion he does pay
At the gate to greet him home from work every day
With wagging stumpy tail and an excited bark
As if to say master take me to fetch ball in the park
Just a friendly small dog with a stump of a tail
But when it comes to devotion and loyalty he never does fail.

Bill And Rover

The old black labrador Rover his muzzle it is gray
And looking at him one would know he has known a better day
His master Bill too looking gray the years on him do show
I often see them in the park they both are walking slow
Old Rover not the dog he was when he was in his prime
His end for him not far away he's running out of time
His sense of scent remains quite keen though his sight is beginning to fail
Yet he remains a friendly dog even at strangers he wags his tail
His master Bill says Rover is thirteen for a dog in years that's getting on
His prime lost in the passing time his better days are long gone
All forms of life as we know well are only born to die
That is a simple fact of life and facts do never lie
Down the gravel path of the Townpark the old dog and the old man
Walk slowly in the evening sun time has stripped them of elan.

In Praise of Dogs

Canine friend of man, today;
Faithful unto him in ways;
Guarding him, his house, all day;
Barking, keeping thieves at bay!

Sleeping with his ears on ground;
Listening to the faintest sound;
Well, he sees in dark and light;
Howls and growls in dead of night.

Tied for life, working o’er-time;
Longs to bite a bone, sometime;
Snarls at strangers when too near;
Wags his tail with joy, sans fear.

The police-dog, tracks criminals;
Hounds help tracing animals;
And sniff drugs with sense of smell;
Detecting bombs, pretty well.

Dogs can pull a sledge or cart;
In circus, do tricks by heart;
They can swim in waters deep;
Sit by master’s grave and weep!

They can retrieve long, lost things;
Joy to children, Dog, he brings;
Helps a lost man, find his home,
Orphaned in the streets, some roam.

Walking, running on command;
Petting, love, he will demand;
Lucky to find love and home;
Faithful friend, he will become.

Some are huge and some tiny;
Some are well-groomed, neat, shiny;
Some ferocious; some timid;
Some are brave and some stupid.

Dogs like humans, love their pups!
Nursing them till they grow up;
Like children, they love to play;
Dogs need love and care all day.

A snorer's cute darling

He always thinks when he unlocks the brass kennel door
She jumps out; But she never tries.
The nextdoor handsome greyhound named 'Romeo'
Barks mostly sad songs in the midnight.
But his darling 'Juliette' never listens.
'Hey! Your bony Master is getting old and tumbledown
And reach the goal very soon.'
Whenever he tells her his pathetic story
She just smile and wags her bushy tail.

* To my beloved wife who accompanies me through all my hardships along this foggy roads.

His Dog Is His Best Friend

She loves and lives with another now his former wife
But his dog remains with him his true friend for life
And for as long as she lives his dog with him will stay
Just for a few pats and a feed every day.

Since dogs are ever faithful for that is their way
He knows that his dog him would never betray
When he comes home from work him she's happy to see
Your dog's love for you a true love would you not agree?

Of cruelty to animals we hear of and read
And the one cruel to animals is a cruel one indeed
And since your animal for cruelty unable to sue
The Karma you sow is what will be your due.

The only true friend that he has in the town
His dog is the one who would not leave him down
On his arrival home from work she does patiently wait
And she wags her tail for to greet him at the gate.

The Reason A Dog

You keep knockin but you cant come in
The way you love I adore
You always come never know where you been
But a-now Im here baby to even the score
Youre up, youre down
Youre always running in place
Triathlon if you please
Youre always beggin me for a taste
But I aint up to snuff if you sneeze
Yak yak yak
Lord you give me the bends
Heads and tails
Youre all out of love
Like the reason a dog
Has so many friends
He wags his tail instead of his tounge
Your older sister
Shes a lot like you
She likes to grab my mircophone
Now there aint too much she wont do
Especially when were all alone
Youre up, youre down
Youre always runnin in place
Triathlon if you please
Her minds on rewind and erase
You might get shot, babe
When youre shootin the breeze
Yak yak yak
Lord you give me bends
Youre heads and tails
Are calling for love
Like the reason a dog
Has so many friends
He wags his tail instead of his tounge
(repeat)
Your older sister
Shes a lot like you
And there aint too much she wont do
Theres always something
That you got to say
I lose my mind and then I surely fade away, yeah
Yak yak yak
Lord you give me the bends
Youre heads and tails
Now look what you done
Like the reason a dog
Has so many friends
He wags his tail instead of his tounge
(repeat)

Courtneys Love

Our furry friends give us love
They greet us with wiggles and wags

Unconditional love they give
Trough life as they live

Her friend is remembered with tears
Also with smiles for the years
For the pleasure they gave to each other

I truly believe that the lord above
Will reunite them in heaven
With wiggles and wags

Therefor our best friends
Will never be sad

For your dog is smiling from heaven above
For the woman she truly loved

In her pocket she carries a treat
For her dog when they do meet

Patch-Up

His dog was home Alone
He didn't even have a Bone
He layed there, with big sad Eye's
Waiting for his master and his Lie's

His master Staggered In
Really stinking of Gin
Began to tell his Dog
He's late because of the Fog

Now the Dog began to Grin
He knew lying was a Sin
He looked at his Master
And saw a Big Disaster

The night was clear as a Bell
No fog for miles, as he could Tell
So his master did Lie
I guess this would be Good-Bye

The dog packed his Bags
And got all his Tags
Snook out the back Door
Didn't want to see his master Anymore

That Dog did the best that he Can
And the Master was a real bad Man
So that dog took off, for the better Life
And with that bad Man he would have no more Strife

Two years later the Dog Reappeared
He was expecting the worst, he Feared
But that bad man had cleaned up his Act
And had a wife now, as a matter of Fact

Now that Dog had a big Smile
And waiting in the back all the While
Was the dogs new 'wife' and 'Pup'
Yes, there all together now, a Great Patch-Up

P.S. And they all had a Merry Christmas, and lived happily ever after.....

Hung Up On You

Orbison/melson
Hooked on the touch of your hand, high on how you understand
Lost when you whispered hello ,something in your eyes said dont go
I just had to stay, couldnt go away from you, you knew what to do to get me
Hung up on you,hung up on you,hung up on you,hung up on you
You knew, the first time we met that I could never forget
You held me so close to you, I could never get over you
You were so aware how to make me care and keep me
Hung up on you,hung up on you,hung up on you,hung up on you
Yeah, you got me where you wanted me, I am where I really want to be
Hung up,hung up,hung up on you
Im so hung up on you that I dont know what I would do without you
Oh it will take me forever to get enough of you and I cant help it if im
Hung up on you,hung up on you,hung up on you baby,hung up on you
Hung up on you,hung up on you...
