I Do Like His Dog

Surly looking and hung over after a night on the grog
I cannot say I do like him much though I do like his dog
His golden retriever on seeing me wags her tail
Of making a new friend of every opportunity she does avail
She does not have him to thank for her nice personality
The man and his dog look at life differently
Out walking the retriever after a row with his wife
Hung over and feeling quite hard done by life
But his female dog of people not in any way indifferent or shy
A great love of humanity she seems to enjoy
With her surly master as she walks down the street
She wags her tail at everyone she does meet
The dog and her master different as chalk and cheese
But then dogs than us far more easy to please.

America is a large, friendly dog in a very small room. Every time it wags its tail, it knocks over a chair.

McCoy

McCoy is a boy,

he doesn't annoy

as he is my pet.

Let's have a bet

he is not fat.

He looks so stout

without any doubt

because of his hair,

it looks so fair,

it's white like snow,

it quickly grow

for me to make a pillow.

I love him so much;

his gentle touch

makes me smile,

it's just his style

to ask for a walk.

That's his way to talk.

When we go out

he becomes a scout,

he wants to know all

though he is small.

He is so curious,

he is never furious.

He likes to be warmed,

he likes to be combed,

he doesn't like to be washed,

and certainly to be bossed.

My home is never empty,

he always waits for me,

when I come back he shows

how much he missed me;

he wags his tail,

that's his way to hail;

he looks into my eyes,

he wants to get a prize.

I will never offend

my devoted friend.

The Reason A Dog

You keep knockin but you cant come in
The way you love I adore
You always come never know where you been
But a-now Im here baby to even the score
Youre up, youre down
Youre always running in place
Triathlon if you please
Youre always beggin me for a taste
But I aint up to snuff if you sneeze
Yak yak yak
Lord you give me the bends
Heads and tails
Youre all out of love
Like the reason a dog
Has so many friends
He wags his tail instead of his tounge
Your older sister
Shes a lot like you
She likes to grab my mircophone
Now there aint too much she wont do
Especially when were all alone
Youre up, youre down
Youre always runnin in place
Triathlon if you please
Her minds on rewind and erase
You might get shot, babe
When youre shootin the breeze
Yak yak yak
Lord you give me bends
Youre heads and tails
Are calling for love
Like the reason a dog
Has so many friends
He wags his tail instead of his tounge
(repeat)
Your older sister
Shes a lot like you
And there aint too much she wont do
Theres always something
That you got to say
I lose my mind and then I surely fade away, yeah
Yak yak yak
Lord you give me the bends
Youre heads and tails
Now look what you done
Like the reason a dog
Has so many friends
He wags his tail instead of his tounge
(repeat)

Joyful Madison

Madison wags her grey and black tail,
all smiles to people she likes real well.
Her tail is shaved into a ball at the end,
she is happy for Little Loui is her friend.
Now Allen picks up Madison off the ground,
and carries her outside when she hears thunder all around.
Madison doesn’t like the wet falling rain,
she would rather stay inside just the same.
Madison is a Pardy Poodle who has an original style,
her coat has tight curls with hearts that make you smile.
When you look at her, her brown eyes sparkle real bright,
hidden in between her curly hair that’s grey and white.
Her ears are real sensitive so I try not to pet her right there,
other than that she always happy and full of good cheer.

The brave enact

The dog doesn’t say,
‘I love you.’
Instead, it wags.
The dog doesn’t say,
‘I fear you.’
Instead, it barks.
The coward says,
‘I love you.’
The brave enact it.

Poem Corrected

outside
the morning is very cold
as i open the
door
our dog is there
lying on the
rug

the way he wags
his tail
convinces me
that he may now
enter the kitchen
of the house

he gets his favorite
bone

You're not a dog

Lying on my couch
I hear the distant barks
of a dog.
I try to answer it as best I can,
being only human.
My dog starts nudging me
with his snout, and wags his tail,
almost certainly meaning,
'don't try to fool me-
I know you're not a dog! '

Be a man too

One is a dog when one wags for bread,
And a mouse when one steal for one’s wants.
One is a dog when one drives trespassers
And a monkey when one cuckolds.
One must be a man to take pity
And redress others sufferings.
