Day for you (3)
may the grey arms of the morn'
turn into life for a day
may silver meet you just there
where your chest is hollow bare
feeling like a ladder on a stair
sturdy ladder legs standing stronger
on the grey arms of early morning
silver legs staring seeing
seven doves' innocent love
in grey arms of the dawning

Grey Day
When I get home its late at night,
Im black and bloody from my life,
I havent time to clean my hands,
Cuts will only sting me through my dreams.
Its well past midnight as I lie
In a semi-conscious state.
I dream of people fighting me
Without any reason I can see.
In the morning I awake,
My arms my legs my body aches,
The sky outside is wet and grey
So begins another weary day.
So begins another weary day.
After eating I go out,
People passing by me shout.
I cant stand this agony
Why dont they talk to me?
In the park I have to rest
I lie down and I do my best,
The rain is falling on my face
I wish I could sink without a trace.
In the morning I awake,
My arms my legs my body aches,
The sky outside is wet and grey,
So begins another weary day.
So begins another weary day.
In the park I have to rest
I lie down and I do my best,
The rain is falling on my face
I wish I could sink without a trace.
In the morning I awake,
My arms my legs my body aches,
The sky outside is wet and grey,
So begins another weary day.
So begins another weary day.

The Grey World
Grey nights in the wind,
And the grey-faced dead.
Grey hairs in my head,
And grey eyes in my mind.
Grey mists in the morn,
And grey waves that rave,
Grey mould on my grave,
And grey eyes forlorn.
Grey clouds in the sky,
And the grey world asleep,
Grey ghosts that sigh,
And grey eyes that weep.

Silver
There are clouds that hang
silver-grey in the air,
before the winter sun
gives its first rays
of a drawling day.
Silver-grey the Monday starts
and while the day’s hours
pass much to slowly,
I am summoned to the old chief
with his silver-grey hair.
One of the women clerks
who wants to be boss,
wants to push a silver knife
into a colleges back.
I leave them alone to count their silver pounds
and wash my hands in the bathroom,
with a silver ray of water that squirts out of the tap.

Fog
Old movie morning...
The sun barely breathes, silver & grey colours.
Black & white grass heads, crying dew tears.
The land wakes with mugs of stemming smoke.
Revealing absorbing true shapes
Of tree grey morning bones
Wet tongue on my ears.
Whisper shadow from the lamp light.
Blind eyes draw, unintelligible figures.
Not much to see, on the walls' house.
Trapped in mimic cage.
The fog tricks silver and grey hats.
Of smoking breaths.

Grey Sweater
did I mention how I love grey woolen sweaters
but not on me
I always picture them on you
in the autumn, streets wet from rain
yet sunny
you smile dazzlingly, opening your arms
and pulling me near
in the cool fall air
always, I imagine us in London
where it is always raining
but at that moment, it is shining
because you are there
hugging me close, to your grey sweatered chest

New Mirror
New Mirror
My wife brought home a new big mirror
She wanted to see all of her glorious self.
I was happy with the old one that showed
my face, upper arms and chest.
This damned mirror makes me look like
a child’s drawing of a man, a rotund body,
matchstick arms and legs. My image took
offence walked away in disgust, left me
standing there in my elderliness, staring
into blank eternity.

Ladder To The Sun
From the very start
Came Earth parted
Broke up into pieces and
I was sure I could have missed it
It could risked it
But I put myself into your hands
Cause you're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
You're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
I can run my courses
Opposing forces
Then I...
If you want me you can have me
Oh take me, oh baby grab me
Cause if you want me then you can have me
Cause you're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
You're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
you cannot run
I had it all and I risked it
I had it all and I risked it all
And I risked it all
And I risked it all
A ladder to the
A Ladder to the sun
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
And I risked it all
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
And I risked it all
I risked it all
I had it all
I risked it all
A ladder to the sun

Silver Blue
I got to get a message through, I dont know where were going. I wrap my arms around your naked shoulders, take cover for the night. I see you in the morning rain, oh step inside and lay beside
Tender can you close my eyes and blind me, oh give me just a smile...
Before I fade to silver, silver blue for you. before I fade to silver, silver blue for you.
Ive turned into the broken one who lost the inspiration. I want to give you all my love like water to a blood red rose. the passion - I cant deal with her. the pain - well, I can do without hi
D this is like the milky way, an ocean that only grows and grows.
And babe I fade to silver, silver blue for you. I turn and fade to silver, silver blue for you.
I wrap my arms around your naked shoulders, take cover for the night.

Silver Rainbow
Rivers flow uphill
Blue turns into grey
Winter follows springtime
Morning ends the day
Beyond the silver rainbow
If youre walking home beside her
And you know what time it is
And if you avoid the puddles in your way
You havent been there either
To the land that lies
Beyond the silver rainbow
But if youre walking home beside her
And the sun should turn to blue
And you keep on going cos youre unaware
Ooh then you know that you are there
Beyond the silver rainbow (beyond the silver rainbow you wont know)
You wont know if youre coming or going...
Ooh if youre sitting there beside her
With your arms you hold her close
And youre wondering just how far shell let you go
You havent been there either
To the land that lies
Beyond the silver rainbow
But if youre sitting there beside her
And a bear comes in the room
And you keep on going cos youre unaware
Ooh then you know that you are there
Beyond the silver rainbow (beyond the silver rainbow you wont know)
You wont know if youre coming or going...

Grey Lagoons
(ferry)
Blue suns and grey lagoons
Silver starfish with honeymoons
All these and more to choose
If you
Satin teardrops on velvet lights
Morning sickness on friday nights
Heaven knows what others I might bring
To you
Broken partings making strange goodbyes
Hopeless cases with fake alibis
Even hoping well be there to share
With you
Blue suns and grey lagoons
Grey lagoons
Grey lagoons

Grey, Grey Sky
Someday I will ride the great bird
Into the sky, into the grey
And will take a bright secret of mine
Into the grey, grey sky.
And the light will come, piercing my eyes
Out of the sky, out of the grey
Come blinding and searing these eyes
Out of the grey, grey sky.
And I will find comfort in this
In the wide sky, in the wide grey
In the painful dark brightness of light
Light of the grey, grey sky.
My secret will fly away home
Into the sky, into the grey
And the great bird will follow it there
Into the grey, grey sky.
And I will be riding that bird
Bird of the sky, bird of the grey
And I will come home once again
Home to the grey, grey sky.
But for now I am weighted, earthbound
One of the mud, one of the ground
And I write this sad song to sad sound
Girl of the pavement sighs.

Grey Grey Morning
GREY GREY MORNING
Grey grey morning
Purim again
Where to begin?
A poem is not just any words-
A poem needs a music of its own-
A beauty-
Lines that are memorable.
A poet cannot just be
What one happens to see and feel
At the moment
A poem must have lines which others will remember.
Grey grey morning
Purim again
Another poem about a poem
Is there one line here worth remembering?

Love, Salvation, And Goats!
she said...
'i still love you as a person,
but not as a man...'
he was silent for a long moment...
and then answered,
'when we go off to war,
do we cut the arms off our enemies,
and leave the legs?
do we cut the legs off,
and leave the arms?
do we pluck out one of their eyes,
and cut off one of their testicles?
do we rip out their tongues,
and demand that they speak? '
she shook her head, crying softly...
'then, declare war on me! '
he walked out, slamming the door,
to sleep with the goats.
while she knelt under a bare lightbulb...
praying for the salvation of his soul!

Silver Is Just A Shiney Grey
That jewlery you gave me,
I thought was so beautiful.
Silver and gold and presious gemstones.
You said they were a symble of your love.
But silver is just a shiny grey,
And you took your love away.
Bit by painful bit,
You asked for a break.
I saw it coming,
But it still hurts the same.
They say that there's always a silver lining
To every cloud.
Silver lineing is still a grey cloud.
Someday, somehow, I'll find out
Gold is just a shiney yellow.
But yellow is happy and sunny.
Someday I'll find my yellow tounged hero.

Open Arms
If love is what you want
Baby here I am
If tenderness is what you need
Ive got that to give
If you need some affection
Baby these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
You come hem youve had a hard day
Every door you tried to open
Was closing in your face
Im right here Ill be right here
Ill embrace you
Ill be open with my heart
Ill let you in
Ill be open with my thoughts
Ill be your best friend
If you need some attention
Baby these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
Every corner you turn
Trouble come your way
But when you get home
Ill try to be there
And Ill embrace you
These are
These are
These are
Open arms
If time is what you need
Baby Ill stop the clocks
If youre looking for something
Maybe Ive got what you want
If theres one thing to remember
Dont forget that these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
These are
These are
These are
Open arms

Cloudy Daze
You are my sunshine on a cloudy day
You gimme love and laughter when skies are grey
You are my sunshine on a cloudy day
You gimme love and laughter when skies are grey
You are my sunshine on a cloudy day
You are my sunshine on a cloudy day
You're there with me at my darkest hour
You fill my arms with the brightest flowers
You lift me up with the things you say
You are my sunshine on a rainy day
I wanna feel your arms in a warm embrace
I wanna see your love written on your face
And as time goes by
You'll be my sunshine on a cloudy day
You are my sunshine on a cloudy day
You gimme love and laughter when skies are grey
You are my sunshine on a cloudy day
You gimme love and laughter when skies are grey
Today! Today!

Ten Grey hairs and a silver one
I discovered my first grey hair
when I was Seventeen years old
It had to do with broken up my first relationship
I discovered my second grey hair
when I was Twenty years old
It had to do with the quarrels at home
I discovered my third grey hair
when I was Twenty-one years old
It had to do with searching for work
I discovered my fourth grey hair
when I was Twenty-three years old
It had to do with loosing my job
I discovered my fifth grey hair
when I was Twenty-five years old
It had to do with giving up my unborn child
I discovered my sixth grey hair
When I was Twenty-eight years old
It had to do with opening my pub
I discovered my seventh grey hair
When I was thirty years old
It had to do with giving birth to my daughter
I discovered my eight grey hair
When I was thirty –two years old
It had to do with the first day at the kinder garden school
I discovered my ninth grey hair
When I was thirty-four years old
It had to do with to find out that some thing was missing
I discovered my tenth grey hair
When I was thirty-five years old
It had to do with the fights between my sisters and mum
My one Silver hair I discovered lately
Has to do with you
Because I miss you so hard …

A Corpse
It was afternoon and the month of June
The Sun shone full in the Asian skies,
Sending down scorching rays,
Enough to cause death to those who sleep,
On the cozy beds made of sponge.
Beside the public place, upward face,
I did see a corpse of a child lying
With belly exposed, legs stretched wide,
The arms folded on the unbuttoned chest,
Slight afar from the callous crowd,
Flies hummed around as if the Death Angel,
Had done his job early in the morn.
With chilled blood in the veins,
And fearful heart in the chest,
Riveted gaze at the frightening scene,
Advanced I timidly forcing legs,
Stood beside examining from top to toe,
And shook it from the sooty arms,
To certify belief occupying my mind.
At the jerk first he sprang up,
Sat, squatted rubbing the eyes,
Yawned, snorted breathing aloud,
To make me believe, he was not dead,
But it is pity he knew not,
He was a living corpse.

The Fairy Clock
Silver clock! O silver clock! tell to me the time o' day!
Is there yet a little hour left for us to work and play?
Tell me when the sun will set--tiny globe of silver-grey.
It has been so glad a world since the coming of the morn,
Oft I wondered when I met any souls who seemed forlorn--
And I scarce gave heed to those who were old or travel worn.
Mayhap I have loved too well the merry fleeting things;
Run too lightly with the wind--chased too many shining wings;
Thought too seldom of the night, and the silence that it brings.
Well I fear me I have been but an idler in the sun--
All unfinished are the tasks long and long ago begun--
In the dark perchance they weep, who have left their work undone.
And I know each black-frocked friar preacheth sermons that, alas!
Fain would halt the dancing feet of those careless ones who pass
Down a sweet and primrose path, through the ribbons of the grass.
Silver-clock! O Silver-clock! It was only yesterday
Dandelions flecked the field, starry bright, and gold and gay;
You are but the ghost of one--little globe of silver-grey!
Tell me--tell me of the hour--for there is so much to do!
Is it early? Is it late? Fairy clock! 0 tell me true,
As I blow you down the wind, out upon a road of blue.

All the Riches of Royalty
The king sat in his silver bathtub one morning
And he realized, as he soaked in the soft bubbles
That you can not rule your kingdom from a silver bathtub
So he did what any other king in a silver bathtub would do-
He got out.
Looking down, he realized that he was standing on his silver rug
And as he dried his arms, he considered that perhaps
You cannot rule a kingdom from a silver bathroom rug
So he slowly stepped off of the rug, and watched the patterns of his feet
Disappear into the silver carpet.
The king walked over to his window and looked over his kingdom.
It lay below him, sparkling in all it's silver beauty
And as he watched, it seemed to come alive with people
Shining like silver in the warm sun
A tear rolled down his quietly down his cheek
And he pondered that
Maybe, just maybe
Being a king is not all that they say it is
