Dreams

in winter
dreams survive until mid-day

look up

see them as you pass
suffocating
pressed against the window-glass

Drown

Drown, drown
Drown, drown
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
And you know that I need you
So give me something I can do
But you just take and rip away, until its over
Ive been waiting for so long
Finally found out what went wrong
Listen closely and you will hear, that it is over, right now
She ties you down, down, down, down, down, down, down
Wasted!!
You made me love you
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Lie your head down thoughts consume
On a blanket in your room
Wraps into fire and comes so clear
Face head over
Drifting out, out into sea
Looking glass, cleared for me
Glancing slowly for some room
To bang a nail solidly through
Its all over cant you see
Ive given you all of me
So scratch until you dig away, all of the venom from your vein
I cant help you, cant you see, that it is over
Dont you know its over, dont you know its over
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Drown, drown, suffocating no air, underwater no air
Sacrifice my soul to you
Disappearing in thin air

Our Survival

We shall survive distance.
We shall survive space.
But can we survive the loneliness
that we have to face?

We shall survive winter.
We shall survive spring.
But can we survive the guilt
of the wedding ring?

We shall survive long nights.
We shall survive days.
But can we survive the longings
that always and forever stays?

We shall survive suspicion.
We shall survive fear.
But can we survive living
without each other, dear?

We shall survive all of this
if we put our love first.
We shall survive hunger.
We shall survive thirst
only if this love is true.

Shattered

It was in the virgin snow
Of many a winter's past
Where memory grew some wings
It was in the form of Snow Angels**
And the winter airs crisp sting
It was a total recall of sorts
Of a broken friendships shards
It cut like glass, as it came to pass
But the snow still covers the yard
It never melted from an apology
As none ever came to pass
And so the snow remains
Along with the pain
And the shards are still sharp as glass

Outside Your Window

Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I feel the seconds slowly pass,
Whilst you I anxiously await.

And behind the glowing glass;
I glimpsed a fading candlelight.
And I with hope was filled and so:
Wished I for love and life this night.

Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I see through the looking glass,
To find my missing soulmate.

And when the light finally flew;
When darkness swamped the room:
A wide smile on my face drew;
And waited I for you to bloom.

Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I feel my feelings all amass,
As I your beauty contemplate.

Seconds felt forever;
Nor beauty I did see.
All alone my eyes did glitter;
Whilst wondering where you would be!

Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I walked on in your impasse;
Wishing it's not yet too late.

Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I lonesome stood for long alas!
And didn't notice your window grate.

Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I tried to drag out of that morass,
Myself; and my lost senses locate.

Outside Her Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I watched my heart swiftly by a lass,
Gets stolen; and did my soul sedate.

Outside Her Window;
I still pass by everyday.
Outside Her Window;
I can't just turn and walk away.

Outside Her Window;
I still have hope that she might show.
Outside Her Window;
I watch my life pass by so slow.

Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I once awaited you alone all night.
But now I know: it's just too late!

The Case Of The Window Pain

an astute answer
discerning shrewd
would surely mention

this wit must be
personification
of a window pane

as for the window pain
perhaps the window is shamed
perhaps the window is dirty

as for the window pain
perhaps the glass is cracked
small large cracks streaked

as for the window pain
perhaps cricket ball punctured
victim of circle game holed

as for the window pain
perhaps the window is broken
glass shards bear crime witness

as for the window pain
perhaps window frame rots
an old window in house derelict

as for the window pain
perhaps the window witnesses
child abuse domestic scenes violent

Lit Candle Flickering

The cool touch of winter frosted the window
the candle's lit wave washed over the glass
in a sheen of droplets
like pristine show flakes
and the whisperer drew down to remark
on the weather and
suddenly the visions-remained
no where to be seen...
Why now? - there was no window
the glass merely concrete slabs and
the droplets coarse sweat on my brow.

Survival Shake

This is no story its the key of existence
A little thing you better not forget
I dont know nothing bout its a water-resistance
Why dont you use your head
And survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
Survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
So tell me darling what you wanna be
A welcome idiot in an appletree
I shake you up and I shake you down
Down to the ground
To survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
Survive, survive
All you got to do is to survive
You just got one life
All you got to do is to survive
You just got one life
So better be careful boy
Survive, survive, survive...

Winter Frost

winter frost forms on the window
a window that looks out at the soal
this winter comes with no mercy
the winter that calls itself a friend
it graps and holds its prey dear
starting to extract all of it's warmth
then suddenly it lets go
throwing it's prey out the door
leaving the prey to look through the window
only to find winter frost apon it's soul

The Hurt Ego....

some windows really are kept open
even at midnight
the moon in its fullness has always been
that welcome visitor
that sense of mystery long gone

opening a window has always been considered
a healthy option

and people who pass the street look at you
standing by the window

in openness
you trust that openness being arms that know the value of embrace
can be redeeming
in fact some children who play in the yard
have a way of looking at you as their idol

they clap their hands and dance for you

it happens almost all days of the year
the open window appears like a warm smile on the face of sorrow

not everyone likes it though
there is a crazy old man and he picks a stone and throws it against
your glass window

your window cracks and your smile become a word
with double meaning

what damage must have the old man caused?
you should know, you have too

wisdom still lies with the old
their discipline is still in the stone
that leave a scar
on the shattered glass

the ego, this self.

As if a magical barrier had been drawn

When I was a teenager
my younger brother
used to wait
until I was in the bathroom

to say cheeky things to me
and to look for trouble
from the outside
beyond the frosted glass.

I’ll beat you up
I used to declare
and he would laugh
and say something more

as if a magical barrier
had been drawn
between the two of us

and it went on
till one day
that I saw his outline
against the glass.

He said what he thought
and I didn’t let him pass
and pieces of frosted glass
shattered and
flew away
while I knocked him
through the window
against the head
and that was the last of it

Breaking Glass

Someone told me youre never gonna win
Fools paradise is where Ive always been
So I told myself Ive got a heart of stone
Not that strong I said, cant do it all alone
Tell me your dreams and Ill tell you what they mean
Cos we live, we love, we learn
You cant touch me
You cant hold me
Loving me through your window panes
But I can reach you
I can see you
Trying to hide your love away
We can be breaking glass together
Someone told me, you gotta let it go
A little weakness is strength dont ya know
So I tell myself feelin left today
I wont lose to the pain of yesterday
Tell me your dreams and Ill tell you what they mean
Cos we live, we love, we learn
(cos we live, we love, we learn)
You cant touch me
You cant hold me
Loving me through your window panes
But I can reach you
I can see you
Trying to hide your love away
We can be breaking glass together
(together, together)
I love the sound of breaking glass
(I love the sound of breaking glass)
I love the sound of breaking glass
(I love the sound of breaking glass)
I love the sound of breaking glass
(I love the sound of breaking glass)
You cant touch me
You cant hold me
I can reach you
I can see you

Recess

Resuscitate
In my sleep
Awake to see
Youre never here
But the losing yields
Another year
Facing hopes and fears
And I wish
I could believe there was more
Hopes suffocating
Youve kissed my life
And the planes and trains
Are to blame
For tempting us
To refrain
And to cut the chord
Dis every word
Of the truths absurd
And I wish
I could believe there was more
Hopes suffocating
Youve kissed my life
Hopes suffocating
Hopes suffocating
Hopes suffocating
And youve kissed my life

My Winter Freedom

Freedom across all oceans and skies
Looking through a window into white
Into a glassy, cold terrain
I see my winter freedom
Into the mountains and pass the bare trees
I see my winter freedom
Pass the snow white roads and trees full of mysteries
Comes the joy of the first snow
The innocent breeze across your face
The endless walk into the night
Gazing across the sky at the night’s moon
To the morning sun across the horizon
Reflecting off the glassy ice and foggy mountain tops
Seeing and breathing in the first days of winter
But mostly…
Believing
In the wonders and joys of
Your Winter Freedom

June to July

For Junealice Pardo-Vela passed July 4th 2010**

Without the turning of a month I remained a beautiful flower
My vase of narrow glass of narrow food and narrow light
This-too-shall-passing under a sun with slight movement
Slight lines slight light through an open shudder fell
Across a counter until I was only bright in places
And in others cast in shadow where my blossom’s edge began to fall away

But by the light of your window I held myself as straight as tall hiding petals as they fell within the glass
I was bright and smiled and you passed me
While I only hoped you were not afraid

But days do pass and inevitable seeds that flower in inevitable spring are picked and taken away to sit in windows in June
Even before July they start to set like the sun and by July the heat pushes down on them so hard that all they wilt can no longer be hidden

And it is then that you do see me
As sure as you see where I once was
For it is July and I have come to fall away

In the light of your window you see the space where I should be
Keep finding each little petal that I had hid in the glass
I was bright and I smiled as you passed me
In July I am brighter and I smile as I pass away

June has come and she has gone
Within the turning of a month I remain a flower
A beautiful flower without vase or narrow glass or food or narrow light or shuddering or pain or falling down to hide
I pass with the sun
Bright light now shining through a larger window
And I only hope that you are not afraid

Wind And Window Flower

Lovers, forget your love,
And list to the love of these,
She a window flower,
And he a winter breeze.
When the frosty window veil
Was melted down at noon,
And the cagèd yellow bird
Hung over her in tune,
He marked her through the pane,
He could not help but mark,
And only passed her by,
To come again at dark.
He was a winter wind,
Concerned with ice and snow,
Dead weeds and unmated birds,
And little of love could know.
But he sighed upon the sill,
He gave the sash a shake,
As witness all within
Who lay that night awake.
Perchance he half prevailed
To win her for the flight
From the firelit looking-glass
And warm stove-window light.
But the flower leaned aside
And thought of naught to say,
And morning found the breeze
A hundred miles away.

A Radio With Guts

it was on the 2nd floor on Coronado Street
I used to get drunk
and throw the radio through the window
while it was playing, and, of course,
it would break the glass in the window
and the radio would sit there on the roof
still playing
and I'd tell my woman,
"Ah, what a marvelous radio!"
the next morning I'd take the window
off the hinges
and carry it down the street
to the glass man
who would put in another pane.
I kept throwing that radio through the window
each time I got drunk
and it would sit there on the roof
still playing-
a magic radio
a radio with guts,
and each morning I'd take the window
back to the glass man.
I don't remember how it ended exactly
though I do remember
we finally moved out.
there was a woman downstairs who worked in
the garden in her bathing suit,
she really dug with that trowel
and she put her behind up in the air
and I used to sit in the window
and watch the sun shine all over that thing
while the music played.

Rainpictures On Glass Canvass...

Watching th' ever sadness, of th' rain....am i
Listening to it speak......between its torrents
On winded wings it strikes defenseless sod
Yet, thru these window panes of fog'n streak
I open th' Pandora's Box....natures teary fall

Water paint images streak th' clouded glass
Like an abstract, surrealistic...faux-pas finish
Streetlights, like spotlite...on a fresh Picabia
Before my watchful mind, th' picture changes
Kaleidoscopic lines invent.....with criss-cross

Some say: ''a picture paints a thousand words''
If true, th' artistry of rain, paint thousands more
Radiance of window panes adorned in nature
And, on th' other side...a smiling child marvels
With fingers pressed on fogged glass canvass

A Glass Of Water Please

and so the story wants to end itself with a
glass of water.

those who cry after always need
a glass of water.

those whose hearts are broken
those who sob
those who close the window of the niche
those who have nightmares
those who wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning
those who sit on bed and cannot sleep back
always go to the kitchen
open the refrigerator
get a glass and splash
a cold glass of water

this time, i am asking for a glass of water
for i could be
all of the above or you could be one of those
i have described

but who knows we are not one of those
who knows
we are but just anyone who is normally thirsty
and with nothing to ask
simply ask
for a glass of cold water.

and cheerfully, we do not forget to say
please....

Sitting By My Window

by this window
my world is made and seen

you pass by
a lonely shadow

shaded by the
full moon

in silence you
always pass
by and i sit by this window

seeing you
my loneliness
reflected in yours

this is our world now
you pass by
while i stay always looking

what passes away next.

We Are Glass

We are young we can break
Watch us fall
We can take some train
Down to the sea
We are glass, we are glass
We are real you can touch
Just for now
And then say
hey you, which way is down
We are glass, we are glass
We are strong we run though
We have time
And to you Im just
One of those boys
We are glass, we are glass
We are cold
Were not supposed to cry
But its all just a thought
So here am i
We are glass, we are glass
They run fast
Impressions of the floors inviting
Stay with me, stay with me
They run past
With telephones they scream
Well would you turn all this down
Turn all this down
You are replaced you are you
And our dreams are real
And dreams are all we need
We are glass, we are glass
We slip down
And old eyes dont cry for me
Cause I doubt Im and I doubt you
And never never going to doubt
We are glass, we are glass
They run fast
Impressions of the floors inviting
Stay with me, stay with me
They run past
With telephones they scream
Well would you turn all this down
Turn all this down
