Rainpictures On Glass Canvass...
Watching th' ever sadness, of th' rain....am i
Listening to it speak......between its torrents
On winded wings it strikes defenseless sod
Yet, thru these window panes of fog'n streak
I open th' Pandora's Box....natures teary fall
Water paint images streak th' clouded glass
Like an abstract, surrealistic...faux-pas finish
Streetlights, like spotlite...on a fresh Picabia
Before my watchful mind, th' picture changes
Kaleidoscopic lines invent.....with criss-cross
Some say: ''a picture paints a thousand words''
If true, th' artistry of rain, paint thousands more
Radiance of window panes adorned in nature
And, on th' other side...a smiling child marvels
With fingers pressed on fogged glass canvass

Frost filigrees for M 'lady Ernestine
The first frost paints the window panes
with filigrees of silver white
The artist takes the greatest pains
to ensure that he gets it right.
Though very sad it’s also true.
His artistry is all in vain,
it only lasts an hour or two
before the glass is clear again.
We can enjoy it for a while.
That is what we’re meant to do.
Tomorrow in his usual style
he will have painted it anew.
A different pattern put on show
created there on my window.

If
If a picture paints a thousand words,
Then why cant I paint you?
The words will never show
The you Ive come to know
If a face could launch a thousand ships,
Then where am I to go?
Theres no one home but you,
Youre all thats left me too
And when my love for life is running dry,
You come and pour yourself on me
If I could be two places at one time,
Id be with you
Tomorrow and today,
Beside you all the way
If the world should stop revolving
Spinning slowly down to die,
Id spend the end with you
And when the world was through,
Then one by one the stars would all go out,
Then you and I would simply fly away
If a picture paints a thousand words,
Then why cant I paint you?
'Cause the words could never show
The you Ive come to know
And one by one the stars will all go out,
But you and I will simply fly away
We'll fly away

Nonsense Verses
1
THE Window has Four little Panes:
But One have I;
The Window-Panes are in its sash,—
I wonder why!
2
My Feet they haul me 'round the House:
They hoist me up the Stairs;
I only have to steer them and
They ride me everywheres.
3
Remarkable truly, is Art!
See—Elliptical wheels on a Cart!
It looks very fair
In the Picture up there;
But imagine the Ride when you start!
4
[Pg 58]I'd rather have fingers than Toes;
I'd rather have Ears than a Nose:
And as for my hair,
I'm glad it's all there,
I'll be awfully sad when it goes!
5
I wish that my Room had a floor;
I don't so much care for a Door,
But this walking around
Without touching the ground
Is getting to be quite a bore!

My Devil You Were
I keep telling myself that I don't need you
but you keep whispering in my ear telling me that I do
and I believe you
I believe everything you say
even though it was everything you said
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
Because no other girl has been here since you left
and for no other girl have I shead a tear, I'm all cried out I have none left
cause I know you love to think that you took them all
but they were gone long before
for you I didn't watch a single one fall, I was never alive I was already dead
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
and I paint it red
I paint it red
the colour of blood shows that it is already dead
I keep telling myself that I don't need you
but you keep whispering in my ear telling me that I do
and I believe you
I believe everything is red
even though it was everything you said
I paint the picture of you on my white ceiling when I'm lying alone in my bed
and it is all red
he paints it red
my picture of his horns it shows its now never dead.

Things I Love
I love the sun
I love lying in the sun, relaxing on a lounge
Working hard for a cold glass of sweet tea
Playing in the water, fishing in the late afternoon
I love the sun very much
But not as much as I love you
I love a glass of wine
I love a glass of red wine beside the company of a lady
Talking over the day, bathing in the winelight
Listening to soft music by a fire together
I love a glass of wine very much
But not as much as I love you
I love the words
I love forming the words into meaningful tapestries
Searching for just the right phrase, the perfect sound
Projecting what’s on my heart to you, good reader
I love the words very much
But not as much as I love you
I love the rain
I love sitting by the window, my breath fogged on the cool glass
Contemplating a quiet moment, my thoughts far away
Watering the earth to make good things grow
I love the rain very much
But not as much as I love you
I love many things
I love so many things about this life I can’t list them all
Parties, meals, a job well done, victory, cleansing tears and dogs
Small town softball games and walking along a forest trail
I love many things very much
And yet, my dear, I love you much more

Paint My Love
From my youngest years
till this moment here
I've never seen
such a lovely queen
From the skies above
to the deepest love
I've never felt
crazy like this before
Paint my love
you should paint my love
it's the picture of a thousand sunsets
it's the freedom of a thousand doves
Baby you should paint my love
Been around the world
then I met you girl
It's like comming home
to a place I've known
Paint my love
you should paint my love
it's the picture of a thousand sunsets
it's the freedom of a thousand doves
Baby you should paint my love
Since you came into my life
the days before all fade to black and white
Since you came into my life
Everything has changed

if I painted pictures
I would draw you in charcoal

I would paint life in veils swirling kaleidoscopic moods
I would paint canvasses imprinting fabric expanding universes
but I travel eons far
load canvasses are too heavy
I walk journey through many phase worlds
seasons landscapes in many climates beckon bled feet
I paint mind songs in words life haunting edges spaces
swallow flame words into soul at own risk
I paint distances between seen unseen at world's edges
I paint portraits above beneath mask as multi veils

Breaking Glass
Someone told me youre never gonna win
Fools paradise is where Ive always been
So I told myself Ive got a heart of stone
Not that strong I said, cant do it all alone
Tell me your dreams and Ill tell you what they mean
Cos we live, we love, we learn
You cant touch me
You cant hold me
Loving me through your window panes
But I can reach you
I can see you
Trying to hide your love away
We can be breaking glass together
Someone told me, you gotta let it go
A little weakness is strength dont ya know
So I tell myself feelin left today
I wont lose to the pain of yesterday
Tell me your dreams and Ill tell you what they mean
Cos we live, we love, we learn
(cos we live, we love, we learn)
You cant touch me
You cant hold me
Loving me through your window panes
But I can reach you
I can see you
Trying to hide your love away
We can be breaking glass together
(together, together)
I love the sound of breaking glass
(I love the sound of breaking glass)
I love the sound of breaking glass
(I love the sound of breaking glass)
I love the sound of breaking glass
(I love the sound of breaking glass)
You cant touch me
You cant hold me
I can reach you
I can see you

Windows
The windows of my life
have panes that go through change.
Sometimes they're clear
Sometimes they're fogged up
and I find that rather strange.
When they're clear I see the road
that stretches far ahead.
When they're foggy it's hard to see
so I close my eyes instead,
for I fear uncertainty.
Life's so unpredictable
and yet it's really not.
For unpredictability
is all we've really got.
So we hang on to each and every day
and do the best we can.
Sooner or later when hard times come
we pray the window pane
will be glass that's all fogged up
so we can remain
uncertain with our eyes shut tight
and unable to see that windowed sight.

A Glass Of Water Please
and so the story wants to end itself with a
glass of water.
those who cry after always need
a glass of water.
those whose hearts are broken
those who sob
those who close the window of the niche
those who have nightmares
those who wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning
those who sit on bed and cannot sleep back
always go to the kitchen
open the refrigerator
get a glass and splash
a cold glass of water
this time, i am asking for a glass of water
for i could be
all of the above or you could be one of those
i have described
but who knows we are not one of those
who knows
we are but just anyone who is normally thirsty
and with nothing to ask
simply ask
for a glass of cold water.
and cheerfully, we do not forget to say
please....

10:29 P.M.
between us
are these glass window panes
dusty and
misty combined
i see a body
above it profuse light
it is facing me
as i write
my story and this
poem
i know there is no one
living in this house
all are in the monotony
of abandon
i am not afraid of you
another sculpted space
i call it
emptiness still
unaccepted
he calls himself
ghost
but i do not really mind
i too
have unfinished business
and by all means
i must finish it
now....

Rain Rain Rain
Rain Rain Rain,
Up above from the skies
Youu come,
As drops of joy
As drops of sorrow
As a shower of blessing from the heavens.
Rain Rain Rain,
Pitter patter pitter patter
on the window panes,
thunder and lightning fill up the skies
creating an orchestral symphony.
Rain Rain Rain,
With wind, sun and clouds,
seven colors you bring together
and joy in our hearts.
Rain Rain Rain
A miracle to a drought
A curse when in glut,
tiny silver crystals trickles from up above.

Rain, Rain,
Rain Rain,
above from the sky,
To some you are
drops of love
or dropp of joy
like a perfect boy
You’re a sprinkle of blessing
like salad dressing.
Rain Rain,
Drip, drop, drip, drop,
On the window panes,
Thunder and lightning fills up the sky,
Creating a rock music concert
right outside your locked door,
But be careful,
It might make your head a bit sore.
Rain Rain,
with sun wind, and clouds,
and the seven beautiful colours.
Rain Rain,
It’s a sensation to dry droughts,
and takes out all our doubts,
So let the rain out!

The Case Of The Window Pain
an astute answer
discerning shrewd
would surely mention
this wit must be
personification
of a window pane
as for the window pain
perhaps the window is shamed
perhaps the window is dirty
as for the window pain
perhaps the glass is cracked
small large cracks streaked
as for the window pain
perhaps cricket ball punctured
victim of circle game holed
as for the window pain
perhaps the window is broken
glass shards bear crime witness
as for the window pain
perhaps window frame rots
an old window in house derelict
as for the window pain
perhaps the window witnesses
child abuse domestic scenes violent

Sunny Boy
Sunny Boy
Play that guitar
It'll all be clear
In the morning
Sunny Boy
Flash those two eyes
And wash this
Colour-lessness blue
Not a dry eye or empty glass in the house
When he plays, by nine everybody is soused
For every bottom of the glass
There's another glass new
There's not a bottom of the heap he doesn't minister to
Sunny Boy
Play that guitar
And paint this
Meaninglessness true
One more glass of sooth for my friends
Oh, I'm waiting to drown
In one more glass of my surrender
And I see my rhapsody clear
Through drunken eyes and notes delivered
Sunny boy, Sunny boy
Paint this meaninglessness true
Somewhere through the fog of it all
I can see all your faces out there
Can you wash it all blue?
Wash it all blue
Paint it all true
Paint it all true

You Only Paint The Picture Once
(Teddy Gentry/Randy Owen/Ronnie Rogers/Greg Fowler)
Look at those evening shadows
Casting a peaceful light
The sun is disappearing
It's a beautiful sight
Moments caught forever
By the master's touch
A lasting reminder
To us
You only paint the picture once
(And) you only get one chance
Take the time to do your best
While the brush is in your hand
Make sure it's just right
Before the colors dry
You can't change it once it's done
You only paint the picture once
Love is the canvas
That's where it all starts
A lifetime together
Becomes a work of art
Just look what's been created
Between your heart and mine
Oh I believe that we're one of a kind
You only paint the picture once
(And) you only get one chance
Take the time to do your best
While the brush is in your hand
Make sure it's just right
Before the colors dry
You can't change it once it's done
You only paint the picture once
It's a portrait of life
You can't live it twice
You only paint the picture once

Life In A Glass House
once again im in trouble with my only friend
she is papering the window panes
she is putting on a smile
living in a glass house
once again packed like frozen and battery hens
think of all the sraving millions
dont talk politics and throw stones
your royal highnesses
well of course i'd like to sit around and chat
well of course i'd like to stay and chew the fat
well of course i'd like to sit around and chat
but someones listening in
once again
we are hungry for a lynching
thats a strange mistake to make
you should turn the other cheek
living in a glass house
well of course i'd like to sit around and chat
well of course i'd like to stay and chew the fat
well of course i'd like to sit around and chat
and only only only
there someone listening in.

A Summer's Rain
I am not afraid to say
That I love a summer's rain
To listen to the pitter-patter of rain drops
Splash lightly upon the window panes
I love to gaze out at the falling rain
To see the plants and flowers sparkle in the misty haze
That covers the water coloured scene before me
Each dropp of water shimmering where it lay
I love to see the sun during a summer's rain
Its glistening beams spreading out far and wide
Creating a prism of wonderful colours
To form a beautiful rainbow across the sky
I love the smell after a summer's rain
When everything in sight is wash'd anew
The world seeming a little brighter now
That the summer rain is through
