Beckonings!

Shall I come?
-When the night spills over the threshold of the day
To skim away the pain of the darkest hour.
-Like the loosened strands of pearls, roll into dust
Like glistening dew at dawn, to light our path, come the stars.

Shall I come?
-To pawn the burden of those renegade days
Lying heavy on your eyelids, with the heydays of spring's spell.
-To bid the final day that stood between us
To take her last bow of farewell.

Shall I come?
-Like the proud dew-dropp unsoiled by the dust of life,
Defiant, absorbs to only reflect the beauty rife.
-With the glee of the sapling leaf-burst in the rains,
With sap to defy many a storm, in its gossamer veins.

Shall I come?
-With the mirth of the leaves, in life's joys and pains
Swaying in gladness, immeasurable, in the game of light and shade.
-To brush off the dust, clinging to our weary feet
With the comforting toll of the journey's end, in arms open.

Shall I come?
-Like the breeze spiriting away in a gait of her own,
Further it moves stronger are the bonds to return
Bound to you in my freedom.

Shall I come?
-Like a spurting river impeded by many gorges,
Now rushes to find her own rhythm, strong.
-Like the koel that waits all winter
To bestow spring with her welcome song.

Shall I come?
-To stake a claim to your attentions as the stubborn full Moon sails by,
Accompanies you everywhere, lingers at the corner of your eye.
-To end your wanderings, with the pull of my heartstrings.
-To spit at the stars that keep you awake with their prattle, jarring

Shall I come?
-With my box of frugal treasures that cozily sit;
An armload of moonlight washed in dew,
Stars like gems, throw up a rainbow on cue,
with the promise of a dream in their kiss,
And four seasons wrapped in the swan song of a poetess.

But first, let me leave:
the anguish and despair, of the bygone days of mine,
as one leaves their footwear, outside a shrine.

Indemnity!

What have I given you in return for your persistence? More earnest
Than the forest fire, burns everything standing in its path to dust.
Whimpers like moany winter wind? While you enjoyed no such leisure.
Constant like the cuckoo's song; woos entire woodland, for an answer
all the length of spring. Ungrateful I'm not! Such largesse deserves
to be returned in kind.Let me pour into your cup life from my reserves
to throb with the pulse of things. Serenity from the reddening dawn's greetings,
soothing balms with the spell of night for the countless meetings & partings
day endures, faith of psalms from the choir of birds singing God bestows on all,
resolve to fight in the burst of the sleeping seed, qualms of delight from frail
first blooms for the freedom of life, ambition of the green mantle's look upward,
a dropp of heaven dreaming on a blade of grass.Treasures these years bestowed.
Hence all I can afford are my wished for years., my heaven -sent gems,
These I give. For I wish you to be known by them.

Sonnet To The Vigilante!

SONNET TO THE VIGILANTE!
My quiet vigilante, returns for a few stolen glimpses,
Like the casket of treasures on the horizon, before light vanishes,
Content with the approachable distance and suspense,
Silent tidings; never to intervene or throw a harsh word,
My heart aglow, its light on his face bygone years record,
While its reflected shadow finds me, lingers on the threshold of pride,
When he arrives my skies lit up, their light on my face mirrors
My frantic self, as he chooses to stand in the shadows.
Sit still restless heart; do not raise your dubious dust,
Let the world find its way to you through him.
Like the creamy moon gives credence to the dull earth,
Peeks between palm fronds & beyond a grey cloud rim,
Killin suspense in my hurried steps throws me in the open, meantime,
And cuts off my return. To hail him down or to abide by his time?

Till You Come!

I will be the gurgling stream,
Surmounting all your hurdles, I shall unwind,
By the head I will drown a hundred sorrows,
And lend you the quiet mind.

I will be a distant star,
On all your sojourns my lights shall burn,
Ask me for whom I shine, for a hundred light years,
And your name, they shall not learn.

I will be the dark night,
Wait till the moon returns every fortnight,
Watch over you with my ten thousand stars,
Till the dawn restores light.

I will be the bird’s call,
In my dawn song sing your praises & promises,
But in none of those ten thousand notes shall fall,
The skip my heart misses.

I will be the blue skies,
That gives your each day a new expression,
Up there lie written a thousand sighs,
And you can’t erase one.

I shall be the gentle breeze,
Seeking you, glide through all your paths chosen,
In my path bend a thousand blades of grass,
And not rest on one.

I will be the tender blossom,
Like a string of dewy pearls wear all your burden,
In a day’s deadline, brave a thousand woes,
And not cushion from one.

I will be the mighty river,
Thirsting to meet the sea, rush driven,
Let thousand springs flow in my path,
I shall not quench from one.

I shall be the raging storm,
Through me all your tempers shall run,
I will rumple the hair on a thousand trees,
And not uproot one.

I will be the brilliant rainbow,
Where ever your dreams have trodden,
In ten thousand wishes, gift you all my colors,
And not save one.

I will be the spring,
Paint you flowers as bright as a beacon,
Shall brave the wrath of a hundred winters,
And not a leaf will I burn.

I will be the bumble bee,
And whine away all your inattentions
Shall steal the scent of a thousand perfumes,
And not breathe of one.

I will be the cool wind,
That wraps around you in the sun,
I will part a hundred clouds,
And not drench in one.
TILL YOU COME!

A Waking Dream!

As if the horrors of the day weren’t enough,
The night comes with it’s reprisal of torment,
Where nothing stirs in its darkest depths,
But the waking dream of a sullen heart.

A dream that eludes by the day,
Shies away in the world’s ghastly stare,
By the horns night wrestles it to stay,
The waking is what I cannot bare.

If not for the dark night.
Is taken for granted- the sunlight,
IWho would ponder on the sting of the blight?
If not for the rain’s delight.
Who could afford to lay a dream?
If not for those sublime celestial things.
If not for those flights of the mind,
Who would dare soar over those mundane things?
As every ray casts a shadow and a doubt;
One is always needed to balance the other out.

There in the woods I retreat,
Among those leaves that have their final purpose met,
But mine is yet to begin;
Waiting for spring to throw a riot.
As every tree must wear many a winter’s wreaths,
So must every life carry a few resigned breaths.
The dread that makes me yell your name
Paler with fright of the waiting game.

What I wouldn’t say in the light of day
Night takes liberty to cast away,
So that in my pathless way you would stray,
To undo the wrong &put an end to night by day.

With a kiss upon your brow,
Let the New Year sing,
How could my days be a dream?
If I call your name waking!

Sun's Autumn Homecoming!

Autumn’s meek sun returns, like a bird given away in spring,
Without her pomp and festivity, only the burden she brings
A brief spell, a light echo of spring, a little of that mischief and mirth,
She arrives for the first time to the dwelling of her birth.

Wiping away mists that cloud those memories of bygone days,
Unlike those warm tears, spring showers, when parting with the bride,
The jingle of her bridal jewels, bird’s songs in their caress,
All left behind in the casket with her coquettishness.

Garrulous streams, she bathed in, floated jewels meant to burn,
Now a mere trickle sends cold showers, to allay that thirst,
Like the grass beneath her feet, pinning away to a colorless fringe,
She brings gifts for everyone, loaded fruits, plump hazels flowered in spring.

Charlatan clouds roam in guile, with no rain under their wings,
Once her bridal cavalcade, now vanish like curtains drawn aside,
Under clouds awnings draping her modesty, she lowers her fierce gaze,
Being the one pined at, she returns to arrest winter’s pride

Dew that hailed her early morn, is now frosted to eat the farmer’s corn
No whistles fluted through leaves, but tamed wind greets in euphoric hum
Tree parasols dropped their sprays, to tread the path of the butterflies,
Now embrace her like old wives, their witch’s head ungroomed and grim.

Vines she planted, in blissful disarray, await her return,
Once watered by her dreams; remind of him, who did toy,
And revel in the shade of her flowing hair that lover’s rejoice,
With the pain in the full memory of the living joy.

Her garden path strewn with petals, breathing passions, once bewitched suitors,
Now, blooms return for a quiet reunion, with reveries wrapped in their skirts,
Languor in her limbs, retires, clothes trapping left at her bed,
Like peeling leaves, shed, closest to the ground,
She returns to sleep in her own bed.

Not a rose did she gather, not a fruit did she pluck,
Or trim the garden hedge, allowed leaves to crumble to dust,
For wind shall hurry to brush away all traces of her return,
With tasks to attend in the house of her beloved, come spring
For she is here to refresh, for in this house she is just a guest.

Ah! If every sparrow is remembered for the spring it brings,
Shouldn’t autumn be remembered for that lone one’s quiet return?

Treading Dangerously

When we embarked on this path together
Skies at sunrise and sunset seemed deeper
While our glowing shadows cowered in their blaze
Wary like the spring that's only heard of the winter
I ask the spring -Does the winter ever creep in?
It answers; - I don't know.

Then I realize a daunting question like a mountain stood
On our path, to surmount it, I tried to bridge things my way
At times even with coldness, but I stood rebuffed
Cause you stood on top of the hill in pride, nonchalant
I ask the mountain -Will you stand in my path again?
It answers: - I don't know.

Then I bowed to your ways and prayed
the mountain would go away; it did
but at the back of my mind it did raise it's head
Always looming in the horizon
I ask the horizon-Is it still there?
It answers; - I don't know

Now I was lost in the song of spring & the mirth of the rains
The mountain had lost its edge, yet afraid it's talons could hurt
I hid my dreams in your palm, afraid of being robbed
This was neither the place nor the time to reveal them
You shut your palms tight and shut out all the light
I groped in the darkness with only the stars that whisper
Clueless in the wind shimmering illusions
I waited for you to come through the dark end
And when I reached out I held no hand
Did I err? - I ask the night
It answers- I don't know.

I wait now for you, to throw crumbs my way
Living no moment, but dragging from one to the next
My trail of crumbs has come to an end
Both lost in the trail we made
I ask the trail -Will we find our way back?
It answers: I don't know.

The night is engulfed in darkness and the wind
Is drunk, losing it's head it threatens for blood
This is not the time to rock the seas or tempt fate
The storm is on us, tread carefully
As we wander, you blinded by pride, I by faith
Show yourself or let the seas engulf us
I ask the seas -Did we have to go through this?
It answers -I don't know.

On the trail unable to take one step towards each other
Have we taken a thousand steps away from each other?
The mountain again stood mighty in our path
I ask the trail-will we cross over?
It answers-I don't know.

After a tedious toil, you return holding my dreams
And seat your frail self on the trail
And eagerly look at me,
Holding you by the hand leading you on,
I answer-'Come! Mountain or no mountain,
If you think I can- I can'

Faith ! ! ! !

Is an oyster lying curled &calm,
Down at the deep sea bottom,
Conceding to none of the surface storms
To fluster its placid pink coral dream.

How remorseless the tempest that whips,
The shell that gathers the sheen,
Of the patient jewel hidden within,
In many a lost soul keeps the light burning.

Away from stone-eyes of doubt &blank misgivings,
In unrewarded Obscurity, whispers to each passing grain,
With promises of heights to attain, burns brightness in each trapped grain,
Washed in a dropp of tear, testifies not to the dust from which it came.
--Forged to outshine the rendition of stars,
Takes nothing from me,
But trains me to walk on water.

What Is This Between You And Me?

When dawn arrives, sun rises,
And daylight bristles awake,
Never asks; Who leaves an ache as keepsake? ,
Grateful for each day, that he didn’t forsake.

When it rains, the cuckoo sings,
The forest echoes with his cravings,
Never asks; Whose soul-wrenching greetings the rain brings?
Tying her mute existence with what heartstrings?

When the wind moans in sweet whispers,
In ripe orchards, where the fruit anchors,
Never asks; With what sweet nothings he casts his doubts? ,
But in deeper shades she flushes.

When the moon returns on the rung of stars,
The night in obeisance crawls, like hungry jaguars,
Never asks-questions about his whereabouts, all that in the darkness chars,
But steers to him on the shoulder's of the lodestar.

When the storm hurls thunder and rain,
Enduring the earth braces open and doesn’t complain,
Never asks; What havoc in this rage she sustains?
Content to know in her hands, lie the reins to his restrain.

When the butterfly flickers mingling colors,
The blossoms throw no tempers, till their contrast blurs,
Never asks; Who steals my colors and violates the sanctity of my lair?
With open arms to his designs she willing concurs.

When the clouds lie scattered & wander,
The hills try hard to delay their departure,
Never asks; Who rides off to what strange lands with my emotions?
She knows with her heavy on his heart he returns.

Now, you have the temerity to ask me;
What is this between you and me?

Spring Lovers

Love comes like a rose-vine clinging upward
Grasping for that first cool breeze of spring air
With a kiss of sunrise to its beauty’s reward
Fragrance burst out from its eminent bud’s lair.

When withered tree stands upon winter’s bliss,
And a snow shimmers on its branches’ content,
Love comes in spring for new leaves then to hiss,
Till this season’s course breakthrough its intent

When castles of clouds assent playful birds
Glide high and low beyond their leafy shrines
And the sunset’s amber blush oceans’ greens,
Spring is from the hearts of many sky’s herds

When the prairie cast its colors from the distant,
Unfold their leaves to dance with the windward,
And the cattle begins to sheave in a wide verdant
Spring spread love to the land of the shepherd

When the sun gives the moon a tranquil light
To the faintest stars throughout sky’s height
And the wind chimes playing a great harmony
Under the moon is where spring lovers stay

Lament For Leaf Loss

Sing sad songs for the days that are gone
Now the days are growing darker and the night lasts long
But listen for the flutter of each shrivelled tear
As it drops in golden leaf-fall of the fading, dying year.

Sing sad songs for the days that are gone
Now the light is growing dimmer and the night lasts long
But listen for the echoes of the summer’s breeze
As it gossips with the branches of the leafless poplar trees.

Sing sad songs for the days that are gone
Now the frost is growing grimmer and the night lasts long
But listen for the rustle of lost autumn leaves
And the crying of the dewdrops as the barren forest grieves.

Sing sad songs for the days that are gone
Now the mood is growing glummer and the night lasts long
But listen for the whispers of the coming spring
When the buds begin their bursting and the birds begin to sing.

Sing no more for the days that are gone
For the light will soon be stronger and the night less long
And listen to the rhythm of season’s song
As spring will soon be with us while the winter won’t be long.

At What Point....

the seasons of births and deaths go on....
waves come in to the shore,
yet then go out!
leaves fall from the tree,
while new buds wait...
stars explode into dust,
then new stars are born.
infinity changes shoes again and again,
yet the same feet walk the endless path.
are not bodies then just cups,
into which light is poured again and again?
and souls are just chapters
of an unending book....
what do we really know?
at what point do we shout hallelujah?

Slowly Into Winter

the leaves slowly cascade down
to the ground
as winter turns slowly to winter

the wind blows them around
untill the cold freezes them to the ground
as winter turns slowly to winter

i return each year to find my leaf lying here
each spring it renews it's promise
this year i didn't wait! after the first spring storm
from its branch it was torn, it lied to me again

so this fall, before the free winds blew
i went to my tree and picked the loveliest leaf icould find
and kept it with mine
untill winter turned slowly to spring

Spare me the last sip!

May your cup brim, not with old memories, but ties renewed
Across the impending miles, heart pledged, soul yielded, sparkle
With dew over the spray's edge, when blossoms their satin's spread
With visions to realize in the present. Its glass, hold secrets of the stars
Beaming ascent, -out a maze, a heaven in their gaze. Its foam's kiss
Tinkling, sound, the flap of fairies' wings, at the dropp of eyelids, after a wish.
Its milky vapors thaw every pain, like the moon an amulet that holds the heart
In restrain. Their lusters return, warmth to your eyes, promising as two butterflies
Waltzing in a steadfast beam, to reveal a smile like the glee of the first stars
To grace the dusky skies, causing an old pang to resurface on the sidewalk
Of spring. Then raise it to love that rewards the wait, well-earned joy,
For which eager hands ache, your presence stir, the everlasting keepsake.
And drink to our share of ardent love and life. Done, spare me the last sip,
To still contain, faith to regain, left behind after a drink and a sigh.

Above All Shady Things!

All the heaviness of the heart wears not, like, rising the carousing sun,
Spills rainbow jewels, on the blade of every grass and leaf undone,
Curbed by things low and mean, pebbles hurled over water,
To even out the seams of the creased uneven world's border,
Like clouds surmounts lofty peaks, attempts things above its strength,
Untangled in any tempting prosperity breaking through the reserve of mine,
Pleading no excuse of impossibility, tossed to the wind claim the pollen,
Seeing things to their end, unruffled by the mock of the bow of heaven,
Where others would faint and fall, fear urges on, without despair,
Weary but not tired, to press on towards the sea, like the river,
To keep it close to the heart as the stars in the dark keep their light,
Forcing itself upwards like a lily above the betraying surface, buoyant,
Revealing things you withheld from me, holding my hand,
Now in your absence leave me with the intoxication of your presence

You are the reason

When we meet walking in the dawn of this faraway world
Stars would dropp their vigil over us,
And sunny hours would bare their brilliance,
Like butterflies with newly -unfurled colored wings.
The morning star's same palpitating hush would take a new meaning
With its guiding light, see us to our journey's end
With a twinkle, bless our reunion.

I shall know those dark eyes from which I nurture
Like the living grass and flowers that rejoice in the glance of the sun,
Those eyes whose gaze I could once catch in starless nights,
Its fragrance kept ever fresh through the memory of an earlier quest.

Then, raise my eyes to catch in there
Still lingering some shadow of the other days
Like the fragrance of that forest air that gathered
an enchantment in your presence.
For a moment bear with me if I forget myself.

Be in no hurry, it is for you I wait
What other reason could there be?
Times remain unchanged; cause deep in my heart
I guard a sweeping passion from times onslaught.
Kindling away through those stormy times to fuel itself in your care,
Like the tired waves seeking the destination's tranquil shores, pay the journey's fare.

Come wrapped warm in a token of my love
Like the trailing clouds that wrap round the hilltops
That teach the burden of the past the language of smiles
Let my heart touch yours and kiss the pain out of your silence
Like a listless leaf in the gustful wind,
Let me wrap myself around you in one glance.

I shall know that the magic of your face is not your own
Is but the stolen passionate light that once reflected in my eyes
Now eager to seek its origin in the depths of their glow
Prompting a reason for my sun, moon and stars to strove
Our only chance to grasp their hand and call them by their names,
To believe in the steadfastness of time and spirit and their claims.

Every Tear Dried

Golden dreams shine softly
Tears flow like Holy streams
Love broken by time begins again
In the open field sojourners meet

Reach for the other side of sorrow
All joy is a shadow of paradise
Nothing says goodbye forever
Everything is healed by the light

Hope can bare every heavy trial
We go where the rivers laugh
Out my window the moon rises
Tonight the stars are my map

The mighty sun lifts my soul
Go out and help all the lonely
What really matters is real love
Stripped of pretense we journey

Spring leaves like Eden awakening
Winter can't stop the emerald dream
Hear the ethereal song of the wind
Seasons of the heart prune and clean

No pharaoh shall stop the meek
Time is a very short hour glass
Stand your ground, never give up
Walk the straight and narrow path

The temples of music clap and sing
Sea of glass calm with triumphed peace
Everything healed in praise and song
Follow the mystic river to the eternal sea

Every tear dried, all things made right

Ode to Persephone and Gwydion

Moon rise high above the sky
Light shine
Down
Mist floating in the air
Breeze rustling the leaves
Blowing
Sending them on there way
Moon light eliminate
The hidden
The dark
Show the path
For a journey to start
A whisper
A breeze
Winter’s arising on the dusk
A message of renewal
Death
Natures end to another year
Another time
Slips away
Silent’s stalks the night
Dawn
A new beginning
A past end
Sleep
Reawaken when spring arrives
Life
Coming back to the Earth
A cycle completed
A mystical journey’s end

The Days of Spring Are Near

The days of spring are near
With the flowing water around
In every heart of youth to steer
That still with the winter's bound
So lovely as each loneliness
And black as rocks in the hills
These condense come with caress
As water splashes and spills

The youth of new springtime's here
Is in every life and brawl
Where the falls shall touch and bear
In its freshness of its early call
And bring mystics wind to blow
While the leaves are becoming green
Away is then all winter's snow
With the life's sullenness between

The days of spring thoughts steer
Into the young days fairly bright
And become here free everywhere
With returning of our summer light
To lift the hearts to higher grounds
And there bring us peace of mind
Fill up the air with springtime sounds
Leaving the dusky diffuses behind

A Dance For The Night Sky

Let's dance to this song
Just this once, we lose all bonds
Our bodies, cascading
We make the world our dance floor
To this final waltz, we sway like waves
Beneath the envious stars
Hearts bursting like fireworks on New Year's Eve

Every star, we claim as ours
We make our mark
Under the moon we dance
The only spark in the night
That could ever be brighter than the moonlight

I am the burning red, and you lush as gold
We illuminate the night's endless fold
A duet of colors, to light the desolate night sky
Brighter than the moon and stars, you and I

For just one night
Take my hand
My last chance
Lasts in this dance under the night sky
For I swear on my last breath
With you I'll make the moon and stars weep
As we dance the most beautiful waltz
The constellations will ever see
