My Umbrella
With the gray clouds
Forming, I grab my umbrella
I have no idea
About how bad it will be
If it will be drizzing
Or if it will be pouring
Whatever the case maybe
I have my umbrella with me
Rain, sleet, snow, or shine
I know that I will be fine

About our Lord
He's my umbrella
He is right above my head
He protects me
During anytime

Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say
"please share my umbrella."
On bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows
under my umbrella.
All that summer we enjoyed it, wind and rain and shine.
That umbrella we employed it, by august she was mine.
Ev'ry mornin' I would see her waiting at the stop
sometimes she'd shop
and she would show me what she'd bought.
All the people stared as if we were both quite insane.
Some day my name and hers are going to be the same.
That's the way the whole thing started, silly, but it's true.
I'm thinking of a sweet romance beginning in a queue.
Came the sun, the ice was melting, no more sheltering now.
Nice to think that that umbrella led me to a vow.

A painted Woman in A Drizzle
Low limbs of the live oak twist
like overlapping black rivers

And it's a drizzle late in the evening
On my way back home from the library.

Rainy Day
Rainy Day
It was eight in the morning when I heard
a car door slam and a car drive off.
It rained all day and it soothed my nerves
to hear water trickle down old roof tiles;
stuck indoors, I didn't have an umbrella.
Five o'clock, afternoon, the car returned
and the same door slammed shut,
the rain continued, the water trickling
was a Geneva Convention offence; utterly
bored now and still without an umbrella.

dont murder it under umbrella
just let the soft part of world dropping on every face and wall
