Wet Nurse

She came with an umbrella
but there is no rain at all.
My lonely heart is longing for a shelter
and she gave me the umbrella.
She left without a word in midnight
and the incessant rain started.
Thunder and lightning all over the sky
and my heart laments for her.

Umbrella Man

When the sun just refuses to shine on through
And its cats and doggies all over you
You need some protection so what do you do
See the umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man, umbrella man
You can see him when its sunny, when the rain comes down
You ought to find a corner where hes always found
A reflection in a puddle, just turn around
To see the umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man, umbrella man
There are some things in life on which you can depend
Dont try to guess when itll rain again
You dont have to worry cause youve got a friend
Come see the umbrella man
I will be your umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
Dont forget the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man
I will be your umbrella man, umbrella man

Umbrella Song

On the poor side of town, lives a girl no one knows
With her worn out shoes and her ragged clothes
Her mother tries to provide since her father has died
But no one even cares if shes alive
And when the rain comes down
Shes never getting wet
And though the skies are gray
Shell still be smiling yet
Cause in her eyes theres no teardrops
In her heart theres no pain
Shes got her love as an umbrella from the rain
Oh, what love is an umbrella from the rain
On the rich side of town, lives a boy no one knows
With his shiny shoes and his fancy clothes
Hes got everything he needs if he wants to succeed
But no one even cares if hes alive
And when the rain comes down
Hes never getting wet
And though the skies are gray
Hell still be smiling yet
Cause in his eyes theres no teardrops
In his heart theres no pain
Hes got his love as an umbrella from the rain
Oh, his love is an umbrella from the rain
Isnt life feeling strange and money cant buy
All you need to get by
All around the world, there are folks no one knows
If theyre worn out shoes, their fancy clothes
Will they find more there to give for and open the door
To know that someone cares if theyre alive
And when the rain comes down
Were never getting wet
And though the skies are gray
Well still be smiling yet
Cause in our eyes theres no teardrops
In our hearts theres no pain
Weve got a love as an umbrella from the rain
Oh, our love is an umbrella from the rain
And when the rain comes down
Were never getting wet
And though the skies are gray
Well still be smiling yet
(repeat 4x to fade)

Tarantella with an Umbrella during the Drought - Parody Hilaire BELLOC – Tarantella

Do you remember the rain, Umbrella,
Do you remember the rain?
And the wedding when outspreading
all your spokes were poked when heading
off the drops which wet the bedding -
so upsetting was that wetting!

Now no breeze in the trees of the dry Pyrennees,
And the Alps aren’t any better, -
No, neither are they wetter!
Where are storms once we cursed near and far,
and the rain drained from pane with a ceaseless refrain
under cloud sky with no star?
Do you rememer the rain, umbrella,
Do you remember its reign?

Then the pane would complain in both city and plain
of the strain, while again and again
the relentless pitter-patter,
while the winds all the blossoms did scatter.
Where’s the thunder now? What is the matter?
When the rain leaked within, what a din out and in!
and the pit-a-pat on the mat
with all hands to the thermostat
when the lightning that
was advancing, chancing, dancing, clancing,
flashing fer-de-lancing,
and the sing-song moan which ajar
set the door swinging far, -
only the strain does remain where once rain leaked amain
causing pain, flooding Seine - drought’s a bane!

Do you remember the rain, umbrella,
do you remember the rain?
Dusty the twirl of the swirl, whats to blame? all exclaim!
Is it Tchernobyl fame as some claim?
Climate change danger, strange insects range? Sunspot flame?
Or the ozone scare drying the air everywhere?
When the name of the game drought can claim, what a shame!
Never more, Umbrella,
Never more will it pour where before
the torrent so proudly would roar.
No sound where the sound’s now dry ground, and no boom,
No Waterfall, dust to dust covers all - ‘tis Man’s doom...

Bus Stop

The Hollies
Bus Stop
(Written by Graham Gouldman of 10CC)
Single release 1966
Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say
"please share my umbrella."
On bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows
under my umbrella.
All that summer we enjoyed it, wind and rain and shine.
That umbrella we employed it, by august she was mine.
Ev'ry mornin' I would see her waiting at the stop
sometimes she'd shop
and she would show me what she'd bought.
All the people stared as if we were both quite insane.
Some day my name and hers are going to be the same.
That's the way the whole thing started, silly, but it's true.
I'm thinking of a sweet romance beginning in a queue.
Came the sun, the ice was melting, no more sheltering now.
Nice to think that that umbrella led me to a vow.
{interlude}
Ev'ry mornin' I would see her waiting at the stop
sometimes she'd shop
and she would show me what she'd bought.
All the people stared as if we were both quite insane.
Some day my name and hers are going to be the same.
Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say
"please share my umbrella."
Bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows
under my umbrella.
All that summer we enjoyed it, wind and rain and shine.
That umbrella we employed it, by august she was mine.
{interlude fades out}

I'm The Umbrella Man

I'M THE UMBRELLA MAN
DANCING IN THE RAIN
WITH NO WORRIES AND NO HURRIES
JUST FEELING THE FREEDOM OF BEING FREE
SO WON'T YOU PLEASE DANCE WITH ME
I'M THE UMBRELLA MAN
DANCING IN THE RAIN
PLEASE DON'T TRY TO UNDERSTAND
JUST TAKE MY HAND
AND DANCE WITH ME
FEEL THE FREEDOM OF BEING FREE
UNDERNEATH MY UMBRELLA WITH ME
SO WON'T YOU PLEASE
JUST DANCE WITH ME

when it rains
you worry none
for you always
bring the umbrella
with you

there are those who
brave the rain
and will not open
an umbrella to
show their
dissent

they are those
whom you call different
for unlike you
you studied well the laws
of comfort
and subservience
not minding the
ways of the
abusive Rain
the faulty Canals
the acidity of the clime
the foulness of
the Ruins.

My Umbrella

With the gray clouds
Forming, I grab my umbrella
I have no idea
About how bad it will be
If it will be drizzing
Or if it will be pouring
Whatever the case maybe
I have my umbrella with me
Rain, sleet, snow, or shine
I know that I will be fine
That's how I feel
About our Lord
He's my umbrella
He is right above my head
He protects me
During anytime
Or kind of weather
So even if I get
A little wet
I know God will protect
He will handle it
For He's always with me
No matter how stormy
The weather
God will always make it
Better
Because we walk together

Yesterday's Rain

Someboyd told you that my broken heart started mending
I'm getting by, but the truth is that I'm still standing
Knee deep in yesterday's rain
Well I ain't high and dry, I ain't got a big boat
But I got a new umbrella and an overcoat
And if the good Lord's willing and the sun breaks through
That'll be one more day that I made it without you
That I made it without you
I don't care what the future holds
And don't care about what you've been told
Don't want to hear what the weatherman has to say
'Cause I'm standing knee deep in yesterday's rain
All those fools go rushing, they don't hesitate
And the lonely go looking where the losers wait
And I'm thinking, somewhere in the middle there's a love that's true
But I ain't found one yet, and I ain't got you
No I ain't got you baby
I don't care what the future holds
And don't care about what you've been told
Don't want to hear what the weatherman has to say
'Cause I'm standing knee deep in yesterday's rain
Yesterday's rain, yesterday's rain, yesterday's rain
Somebody told you that my broken heart started mending

There will be a little rain though,
But don't worry I will protect you by being your umbrella.

The Rain

Come on, where are you, long lost sun,
the rain looks finished, I’m sure its done.
I spoke too soon, its coming down again,
it’s even swamping the house’s drain.

The rain’s surging force as it hits the ground
creates a noise like no other sound.
Our wheelie bin is being beaten like a drum.
Oh, where has that hidden sun gone?

I can’t even see through the windowpane,
it’s covered with huge drops of rain.
Look at it streaming down that outside wall,
the guttering looks about to fall.

There it goes; it’s shattered against the ground
but the rain has dampened its crashing sound.
I keep looking for that cloud break in the sky
for the sun to push through, or at least have a try.

That man on the street looks soaked to the bone,
with no coat or umbrella to shelter him home.
I can now see clearly through the windowpane,
the sun is bursting through the clouds again.

At last, the time has come to go out for some fresh air
the clouds have gone, so there’s no need to despair.
I won’t need to take the umbrella or even my coat,
and I’ll certainly won’t need a rowing boat.

Less than thirty metres from my front door,
and there’s another heavy downpour.
Looking up I just cannot understand why,
there isn’t a cloud in the sky.

Stood floodful in the saddest pool ever

Wet in the rain outpoured by the mind
Set up on a journey
Concepts classified crashed
Whispered who through the drops
The trembling fingers clang to the umbrella
The saddest umbrella in the world
That had in it no magic at all
Could not fly or colour designs
In wetness tide soaked who
Started the walk of hours
Walked didn’t sing for there was no happy rain to sing in
And no pools to joyfully splash
I could have shared a sorrowful smile
A smile to who I didn’t know
To who I never met before
Or just follow the walk of who
Through the rainhour moments
Splash wave wings through the who rain
I wanted to pour down
Instead
I knelt by the pool in rain knell
Where the traces of the floodful standing still still stood
And the floodprints rippled and rippled on
To mirror myself and start to drink

When the rain stopped

it was when the rain stopped
that you left me: i own the umbrella
that you do not need now. You return
it. It was when the rain stopped
that you forget my name. My name
is need. And what you need is love.
My name is necessity. But what
you need is the luxury of honesty.

it was when the rain stopped that
you were honest enough to say:
i do not need you. I do not love you.

and then it rains so hard again
and you come knocking on my
door. You are wet. You are cold.
You are shivering. You are
trembling.

I look at you inside my house
looking by the window. I hide
behind the blue curtain. And i
tell myself: I do not believe you
anymore. And i ask myself:

How can i believe you again?

And then the rain stops.
And then you are gone.

And then i open the window.
And then i see the white dove flying
and hovering near a tree beside my window.

And then i set my heart free.

A Rain To Remember!

Rain lashed out with lightning and thunder!
For every lightning phone also rang without fail!
It continued till I switched off light and went to bed!

Next day morning some death news due to lightning came!
Storm has dissipated but rain lashed now and then;
It's raining time nothing can stop it from falling!

Today there is complete silence prevailing!
Night is cold and wind has stopped after evening
Yet rain warning is given and is expected for 24 hours!

The summer drought without rain is causing so heavy rain now!
Farming fields without rain crops are waiting for rain
A week's rain at least will make it okay now!

When there is no rain we cry for it and when it is there we don't want
Whether we say this or that rain will do the best it can when it comes!

Soft Rain

Soft Rain

I like rain, not hard, angry rain with an attitude
who, was neglected by the mother cloud, and
angrily show its hate towards those who had
nothing to do with its misbegotten infanthood.
No I´m thinking of soft rain that is like a caress,
a kiss of eternities promises.

And nature is still, this is a moment of rapture
a longing for so long denied blissfully fulfilled.
The dampness of my skullcap and my alpaca
jacket is so soft that it almost feels like oil, but
I know I´m just a spectator under an umbrella
who ought to go home and lit the fire.

Umbrella

The sheets were still warm
from her last fleeting kiss,
Redolent of the perfume she wore.
Surely the memories of nights such as this
are what our existence is for.
They had met on the train
which was not at all strange;
they had noticed each other before.
That he shared his umbrella
and later, his bed
was a gift of the evening's hard rain.
Her skin was sun kissed
and she had bee stung lips.
Her eyes, a mischievous green.
True, she had an umbrella,
but why tell the fellow
she happened to meet on the train.
Let him think he had conquered,
It was she who had stooped.
Perhaps she would see him again.
She had left him asleep,
slipping out like a thief from
a night filled with Love and Champagne.
She did not regret
letting herself get wet.
as it led him to act as her swain.
He'd been tender and sweet
and his taste was a treat
once they'd come in from the rain.

I am singing in the rain......

When the clouds above me so dark
When the stars are not be seen in the sky
When the moon is gone away from the site
When the cool breeze being to touch me softly
When the thunder and lightening make me afraid
Then the rain begin to shower upon me

Chorus....

I am singing and dancing in the rain
I am playing and falling in the rain
What a glorious feelings that I have when its rain

When I hold you hands and walk in the rain
When you arm around my waist hold like a chain
When my umbrella being to dance in the air
When the rain water rush down to the canal
When the street lights blink on the streets
Then my love on you is singing in the rain

I am playing and falling in the rain

That Rain

Thunder starts rolling in
As it fell from the skys
Rain
Oh how it knows me so
As I stand underneath it
While I welcomed it with wide open arms
With my head facing the lightning bolts up ahead
The rain drops upon my face
Like welcoming kisses
As the thunder roared louder than the mightiest lion
As the lightning bolts lit up the sky brighter than Vegas itself
I twirled in the rain
Not caring who saw
In that rain
That rain I welcomed ever so
That rain which had the softest touch I had ever felt
