Like an Unused Expletive
When folks stop showing they care,
With expected responses
Others had grown accustomed,
To be shown reliably there.
And it has gone?
Something has turned around,
Something has gone wrong!
To expose a cold shoulder...
Never before thought could be found!
Like a familiar ride on a merry-go-round.
It may be there to provide a service.
Like an unused expletive!
Someone has chosen not to dignify,
To sting the atmosphere.
Or believe would satisfy a benefit,
To anyone overhearing it!
And with those warnings tossed aside,
An explanation tried in the past...
Dies.
A purpose seems to have come to a close.
With an attempt to save a repeated waste of time.
To halt before the repetition begins.
'What is being accomplished?
And for whose understanding...
Should I appear to be the idiot? '
Someone involved has taken another for granted.
And like an 'ex' of anything experienced...
An ax has been used to sever a close tie abused!
A determination has been made,
To move on!
Demonstrating...
A decay that has become addicting to some,
For one...
Who has had enough of that 'funky' stuff...
That is the one,
Who no longer has to tolerate a self infliction of BS.
It stinks and reeks.
And it can be removed.

If You Have Not Lived
An unfortunate set of events and circumstances.
A tragedy in its truest form.
Memories so cold yet they are still warm.
Some say his death could have been prevented.
But I know not how one could stop the stars from aligning that night.
Digging into the past can be traumatic.
Digging into the past can also be fantastic.
A heart felt thought of who you were back then.
What you did, who you loved.
A fun time that got blurred as you moved on.
We drift from one life to the next.
Sometimes one is more innocent of the mistakes made.
Ignorance is never a valid excuse if abused.
Repetition is the music that continues to beat.
Destiny is an eye opening ride so just take a seat.
Take it all in.
Be completely aware of all our surroundings.
Take part in it.
For we know not how long it will last.
Time leaves the the wind still.
A motionless body of a image that happen so fast.
No control over what we will see when we close our eyes.
To tell ourself otherwise is just another lie.
Putting colors into the skies
We not only must survive, but must put meaning to what we left behind.
What is an explanation without reason?
How many times will we see these changes in the seasons?
We will not know if its of a life not lived.

I Can' Move
Watchin' the sunshine, peekin' over the skyline
Thinkin' I gotta get mine, gotta try at least one time
Wanna get near it, close enough to fear it
Close enough to hear it, close enough to say
That I looked it in the eye and then I turned away
And I'm not scared, but I can't move
I'm not scared, but I can't move
Hangin' out on the weeknight, lookin' off the street light
Gettin' into some fist fight, tryin' to cling to my birth right
I wanna get near her, close enough to smell her
Close enough to tell her all the things that I wanna say
That I looked her in the eye and made her run away
And I don't care (don't care), but I can't move
I don't care (don't care), but I can't move
Layin' up in the sofa, lookin' out of my window
Pullin' back on some endo, watchin' breeze as the wind blow
Wanna get near it, close enough to hear it
Close enough to fear it, close enough to say
That I looked it in the eye and then it turned away

To Ensure Nothing Has Been Erased, Replaced or Changed
A merry-go-round accomplishes one thing...
A repetition.
Nothing in nature can compete with it.
Even seasons when they come and go,
Have within them subtle changes one notices.
It is an experience we all have come to live with.
But to ride on a merry-go-round,
Just to go around and around and around...
Reflects on one's nonexistent motivation.
Within a mental place that is kept internally safe.
Although restricting to a control when done.
Just to keep reliable circumstances,
Enforced to remain the way they are...
Reliably stagnant and fixed in position.
With a need to ensure nothing has been erased,
Replaced or changed!
And nothing within this jurisdiction...
Has any chance to go too far,
Anytime soon!
Not if it can be slowed to a stop to restart!
Not if a climate of renewal isn't welcomed to bloom.
And repeatedly sad are the lives of those entrapped!

Fishing For Fresh Water Bass
By the time their minds begin unfolding...
They will have the consciousness
Of also knowing,
The ignorance they manifested...
Will provide such a stench,
To bring clarity to their eyes as well!
Getting accustomed to truth...
Is like being slapped in the face
By a 'trout'!
When all the time,
You thought you were fishing for fresh water bass!
And then all of a sudden...
A mind awakens to guilt,
And a polluted thought process!
You now see...
Had been addicting!
And those folks you 'had' thought were crazy...
And out of their minds?
You now find a desire to be in their presence!
And they now look upon you with suspicion!
Hey...
That's how it is!
NOW,
Attempt to have a conversation with someone...
You knew,
Before you lost the confinement,
Of your once narrowed mind!

Like Trying to Get Close to a Cactus
I know what it is like
To be attracted to someone
With cold shoulders.
It is like trying to get close to a cactus.
You don't wish to get pricked...
But there is something addicting,
That makes one going back to it!
I know what it's like,
To feel alone...
With someone there,
Laying next to me in bed.
And I don't want to be touched.
Or move too much!
It took me a long time to admit,
I was not involved in a relationship.
Whatever it was,
I grew comfortable with!
Like knowing a pet is around...
If it or you wishes to be found.
A convenience that takes place,
Of a total absence.

Antics Fat Cats In Silk Suits Choose
So far to the right,
They are out of their own focus.
And inspite of what they say and do...
Only criticism of what is done,
On the left side...
Is what they pursue,
To keep the public confused!
With a merry-go-round of antics,
Fat cats in silk suits choose...
To demoralize correctness.
And leave many singing the blues.
Since they see themselves as 'chosen'.
And the folks who they ignore,
Are used and accustomed to being abused!

Polished To Present
To prove you have been 'there',
And by others taken for granted...
While they have laid bathing in claims,
That what you have done...
Has been to the benefit of no one.
Stop your being 'there'.
And do not hesitate in the doing of it.
Just stop all that you have contributed.
With a doing shown that has been done.
To allow those you know committed to lip,
And an abundance of procrastinating nonsense...
An experience of your absence.
With a round of new excuses,
Guaranteed from them to be made...
As to 'why' they lack to prove in the showing,
Their attributes submitted...
Whether in the planning stages,
Or polished to present to amaze those who critique.

For Far Too Many Days, Months and Years
The only point that you can make...
That can be proven,
Is a disappearance made.
And you can save any excuses,
You would like to waste time to make...
To use on someone else.
Any shallow steps you wish to correct,
That had in the past been done...
Have been placed.
And if you did not know what you were doing then...
Today will not make the difference.
For far too many days, months and years,
With my tears flowing for hours...
You have accused me for not understanding.
Well...
Today I do!
And it is clear you and I are through.
I'm not here to rehash and trash the past.
That 'fact' does not need another re-enactment.
Backward movements I'm not taking.
And that merry-go-round has stopped.
You're the only one wishing to ride it!

Let It All Burn
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
The broken hearted are departing.
Setting sail for a new found trust.
I don't blame you, I've just had enough.
Trying to cross the divide.
Trying to see eye to eye.
But the flames just carry to high.
Their might be clearing in the sky but I can't find it.
And I can no longer afford to waste time.
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
Being sucked down in the turmoil at the gates of hell.
I can still hear all those cross words.
As if I can make this work.
I've been down this road before.
I know where it leads.
I know what the seeds grow,
I know you will reap what I sew.
Oh no, no no no no.
And I can no longer afford to waste time.
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
I was once an open door.
But now that is closed.
Can you feel the coldness of the frigid ice.
That's my heart.
It no long bleeds.
Not for you.
Not ever again.
With all the discontent as you keep trying.
Still I'm not moved.
And I can no longer afford to waste time.
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
I made my sacrifices.
Wasted as the blame.
Are you going to do the same.
Follow suit, follow the leader.
I'm no leader of yours.
I never held your cure.
Deny it and they want so bad.
Till it is what they can have,
Then it becomes dull.
A lust upon the soul.
And I can no longer afford to waste time.
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
now I'm giving up on you.
now I'm giving up on you.
now I'm giving up on you.
I'm sorry but the choice is mine.
Not like last time.
You took me down to the ground.
Kicked and spat at me in my rigid face.
Oh how I wish it would have erased every thought of you.
But the heart drifts and the mind wonders.
That becomes our number one blunder.
A calamity marked by thunder.
And I can no longer afford to waste time.
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
A loss is a loss.
No matter how you word it.
Put it in a big captions on it if you want.
You have become so distant.
An after thought of things from the past and things that didn't last.
It wasn't that I took things to fast.
As embers burns slow after the flames die down.
And I can no longer afford to waste time.
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
Ashes float down like rain.
These are my memories of you.
These were my promises broken and stolen.
As if I could be that super man.
Super human abilities that melt you away.
So sorry but that just not me.
You say you loved me.
I say when I must of miss it.
And I can no longer afford to waste time.
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
And now I'm giving up on you
And now I'm giving up on you
And now I'm giving up on you
And I can no longer afford to waste time.
Riding the waves of premonitions.
Maybe your right, maybe your wrong.
I no longer care.
You gave up on me long ago.
And now I'm giving up on you.
So just let it all burn.

Busy Cleaning Up Their Acts
Hasn't the time arrived,
For those accomplished in conniving tasks...
Of planting booby traps,
To catch people off guard...
A throwback to a childish past?
And what purpose is served,
When grown folks laugh?
Hasn't the time arrived,
For the ones who 'should' be mature...
To set aside their hiding behind masks,
With a demonstrating to those younger...
That a life lived of being a fool,
Does not forever last?
With a pursuing of facts.
Few can afford wasting time procrastinating.
Or accepting in their minds they can afford hesitating.
Since that time has arrived to get down to business,
Period!
Even though a seriousness to leave fantasies,
Isn't easy for those entrapped within delusioned beliefs.
No roads ahead are paved with treated sweets.
Or streets left to litter for someone else to clean.
Since that time has arrived to get down to business,
Period!
With everyone expected to roll up their sleeves,
Prepared to get busy cleaning up their acts.
Few sad faces will be given attention to attract.
The days ahead are not about the giving of that.

Fugue For The Fox
Call happy calling children are falling
In line to ride on the merry-go-round
People are passing children are laughing
They want to ride on the merry-go-round
Doesn't matter when you came
Every ride is just the same
Do not worry how it's done
There is room for everyone
Carousel turning children are yearning
To ride it forever and never come down
Little one's singing older one's clinging
Everyone riding the merry-go-round
Go round and round and up and down
Round and round they go always reaching for the ring of gold
Never knowing when the music's over they will be old
Call happy calling children are falling
In line to ride on the merry-go-round
People are passing children are laughing
They want to ride on the merry-go-round
Sometimes up and sometimes down
Don't let your feet ever touch the ground
Sometimes right and sometimes wrong
You'll end up where you belong
Sound of their laughter makes the ride faster
Soon the circus stand must come down
Music grows nowhere the ride is over
Say goodbye to the merry-go-round

How Good Will Be The Move
Getting out!
To get back into what?
And how big will be the next box...
To pout about in.
As you try to figure out,
Why you are feeling restricted.
Without acknowledging,
You did this to yourself.
Getting out!
To go where and why?
Will a meeting with more comfort,
Satisfy the removal of unneeded despair?
And to who's benefit,
Will the discovery of going nowhere provide?
When a getting out has been accomplished,
How good will be the move?
And to who is this going to be proven?
If...
You are the only one to travel,
With the company of uncertainty.

Sullied
She plunges into the hot water
and begins to scrub. Brush and
soap on skin. She wants him off
and out of her. Undo him from her.
Unkiss his kisses, untouch his touches.
She breathes in. She reeks, stinks
of him. He seems to have penetrated
every orifice on her body. She pushes
herself under the water, holds herself
there, opens her eyes even the sting
brings no purification. She sits up and
holds the sides of the bath. Calm down
she tells her shaking hands and legs
but they disobey and carry on like
disobedient children in play. She tries
to think of other things. Think of
somewhere nice, some time once
enjoyed, some pleasure once had,
sipping of the best wine, greedy
eating of caviar or grape. But no.
Everything is focused on him and
the rape. She rubs and scrubs until
she's red and raw. Stop stop her
inner voice screams. Nothing is
what it seems. He pushes his way
even into her every thought now.
He seeps into every pore. The water
fails to clean. She sits there naked,
undone, brush in hand, hair in a mess.
This is not real she says, but knows
it is, she in the bath, wet, raw, sore
and sullied. Yes that's a word mother
would have used: sullied. Tainted,
tarnished, degraded or as Mother
would have said: dishonoured. She
focuses on each aspect of her flesh
as if seen for the first time. What
you focus on is your reality. Who said
that? Does it matter now? Dostoevsky?
The Idiot, that book. Who cares who
said what. The water is no longer hot.
He is still on skin and in orifice in spite
of the rubs and scrubs and tears and curses.
No longer the innocent, no more the
sipping of wine or eating of grape.
Just him and memory of the rape.

Maintaining Of A Maintenance To Do
A tilting of a cart allowed,
By those too busy...
Hobnobbing and riding inside of it,
Until this means of reliable transportation...
Becomes unfit for those familiar,
And it one day quits.
This can also be applied to relationships,
Too many have come to take for granted.
With the valuing more of 'appearances'.
When anyone or anything has been left neglected,
And a maintaining of a maintenance to do...
Has gone to become disrespected,
Expect the familiar to one day NOT provide...
That giving and showing of accustomed support.
Ignored warning signs will suddenly come to abort,
That which has come to be 'assumed'.
Leaving those who should have been conscious of this,
Wondering what they did or could have done much too late.

Cut and Separate Quick to Split
There are those who believe themselves chosen,
To hold up the process of one's life.
They are the ones who elect to be understood...
With no comprehension or faith to do things.
Not the way they should be done.
Unless they have a say...
In which way they decide,
What has to be done for them is right.
And something that initiates,
A feeling of false pride.
Even though what gets done,
Is at a time that arrives too late for some.
With an expectation for others they delay...
Should sit and wait with a patience,
That has become frayed.
Strained and frazzled.
Or...
They wish to debate uselessly,
Over that which should have taken place.
And wasting as much time as they can,
To be understood!
'For goodness sake!
I am not the cause for this reaction! '
When folks like this,
Began to flaunt excuses to abuse and disrespect...
Never acknowledge what it is that they do,
Because from you they will determine...
You have become accustomed to their neglect!
And from you expect apologies.
Sever yourself from these kinds of people.
Cut and separate quick to split...
From this addicting BS.
And have none of it!

Enjoyed By A Self Inflicting Victim
If someone has done something,
With consistency...
For close to half a century,
And this has 'not' been of benefit.
In fact this has been detrimental,
To the aiding of someone's mental illness.
By those showing a condoning of it,
Empathetically expressed.
And a denial keeps this unaddressed...
By those who professed to be close to that one.
And someone eventually comes not to tolerate,
Another bit of this nonsense that irritates.
Those gathered to come to that person's defense...
Have satisfied a permanent stunting of growth.
With the stroking done,
Enjoyed by a self inflicting victim.

Equipped With One's 'A' Game
The road most traveled,
And one that is familiar on a daily basis...
Is the one that creates,
The biggest challenge few are left to debate.
It is too easy to take for granted,
That which one believes is well known.
And to stay awake and remaining equipped
With one's 'A' game...
Is something one accustomed to obstacles,
Has shown time and time again.
It only takes one mistake,
To ruin the flavor of an expected taste...
Of one's favorite cake and that's all it takes,
For one to regard a whole day a major catastrophe.
