A Chase
Since birth
It's an endless chase.
A carrot was hung before me
And I was made to run.
Run....run......
Surpass others
Make sure you grab it
Before anyone.
The carrot went on
Changing its nature and color
Once you hung it for me
Now see, I have my own.
Once a compulsion
Now an instilled obsession
Drives me hard
Says, run and run.
Dropped humanity
Lost love
Stay behind;
Time for none.
Is it all I am here for?
Bother sometimes
A raising question.

Hung Up On You
Orbison/melson
Hooked on the touch of your hand, high on how you understand
Lost when you whispered hello ,something in your eyes said dont go
I just had to stay, couldnt go away from you, you knew what to do to get me
Hung up on you, hung up on you, hung up on you, hung up on you
You knew, the first time we met that I could never forget
You held me so close to you, I could never get over you
You were so aware how to make me care and keep me
Hung up on you, hung up on you, hung up on you, hung up on you
Yeah, you got me where you wanted me, I am where I really want to be
Hung up,hung up,hung up on you
Im so hung up on you that I dont know what I would do without you
Oh it will take me forever to get enough of you and I cant help it if im
Hung up on you, hung up on you, hung up on you baby, hung up on you
Hung up on you, hung up on you...

What Color? (Hope)
what color
was the dust
from which the stars
were made?
what color is the hunger
written on the child's face?
what color is justice,
forgiveness, desire, truth?
what color is the wind....
the rain, gravity,
and knowledge?
what color is equality?
what color is freedom?
what color is eternity?
what color is redemption?
what color is God?
what color were the nails
that hung Jesus on the cross?
what color was enlightenment
falling on the Buddha as he sat
'neath that tree?
what color is prejudice, hatred,
fear, greed, apathy.....
what color your skin?
nay, what color is your blood?
and what color are the eyes
of humanity staring through the darkness?
and what color is hope?

X Diary 07 Happy Sam And The Magic Horse
A Children's Tale
Once upon a time
There was a little boy called Happy Sam
Happy Sam lived in a house by a forest
With his mother and his father
And his baby brother
Lucky Peter
One day Happy Sam was walking in the forest
Further from home than he had been before
And he saw –
A HORSE
In the horse’s mouth there was –
A KEY
Happy Sam wanted that key
'HORSE'
Said Happy Sam
'GIVE ME THE KEY'
'Neigh'
Said the horse
Without letting go of the key
Well Happy Sam wanted that key really badly
So he thought
And he thought
And he had -
AN IDEA
Then he ran through the forest
And he ran through the garden
And he ran through the kitchen
And he ran to the refrigerator
And he found -
A CARROT
Then he ran back to the horse
And he said
'HERE HORSE
HAVE A CARROT! '
Well the horse wanted that carrot
So he opened his mouth to get it
And -
HE DROPPED THE KEY
Happy Sam caught the key
And he ran through the forest
And he ran through the garden
And he ran to his family
And he noticed for the first time
That in their hearts there were -
KEYHOLES
And he tried his new key
And he found that it -
JUST FITTED

After The County Show
“Hello carrot, my word you do look tasty.”
“Oh, hello knife you too look pretty sharp
a cut above the rest I’d say, but let’s not be too hasty.”
“I say carrot, are you here for today’s county dinner? ”
“No, no not I, I’m a showpiece,
voted best of the show, a gold ribbon winner.”
“I knew you were special, lying next to the sole from Dover,
but surely you must know what you’re doing here
now that the county show is over? ”
“I reckon they want to show me off to all the local villagers.”
“Somehow carrot I think you’d better reckon again,
whilst I slice up the beans and cabbages.”

My Front Porch Looking In
Oh yeah
Yeah oh yeah
The only ground I ever owned was sticking to my shoes
Now I look at my front porch and this panoramic view
I can sit and watch the fields fill up
With rays of glowing sun
Or watch the moon lay on the fences
Like that's where it was hung
My blessings are in front of me
It's not about the land
I'll never beat the view
From my front porch looking in
There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
And the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in, yeah
I've traveled here and everywhere
Following my job
I've seen the paintings from the air
Brushed by the hand of God
The mountains and the canyons reach from sea to shining sea
But I can't wait to get back home
To the one he made for me
It's anywhere I'll ever go and everywhere I've been
Nothing takes my breath away
Like my front porch looking in
There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
Yeah the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in
I see what beautiful is about
When I'm looking in
Not when I'm looking out
There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
Yeah the view I love the most
Oh, the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in
Yeah
Oh, there's a carrot top who can barely walk
(From my front porch looking in)
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong, yeah
And the most beautiful girl
(Beautiful girl
From my front porch looking in)
Holding both of them
Oh, yeah

Move Over
My first guest is one of the most exciting singers there is. some think the most exciting. we have extra stage hands to hold the roof down when she sings. if you have never seen janis joplin,
Is your chance. here is janis joplin!
Hey! this song's about rock & roll, and needs some help from the crowd. it goes like this. i can't hear ya!!
Hey! you say that it's over baby, lord,
You say that it's over dear,
But still you hang around me, come on,
Won't you move over.
Yeah! you know that i need a man, hey,
You know that i need a man,
But when i ask you to you just say
That you think you can.
Hey! please dontcha do it to me, babe, no!
Please dontcha do it to me, baby,
Either take the love i offer
Or let me be.
I ain't got no time for walking, no!
I ain't got no time for walking,
What's a poor girl gonna do with your life,
Life all just dangling ?
Hey! make up your mind, honey,
You're playing with me.
Make up your mind, honey,
You're playing with me,
I said now well either be my loving man,
Come on, let me honey, let me be, yeah!
You say that it's over, baby, huh!
You say that it's over dear,
But still you hang around me, come on,
Won't you move over.
Hey! you know that i need a man, baby,
You know that i need a man.
When i ask you to you just say
That you think you can.
I ain't quite a-ready for walking, no!
I ain't quite a-ready for walking,
'cause whatcha gonna do with your life,
Life all just dangling ?
Honey, i feel that it's dangling
Honey, lord, lord, lord.
It's like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, dear.
Oh! yeah! yeah! whew!

Carrot before rabbit
Carrot gets value in front of a rabbit
And the rabbit wets its tongue, pursuing.
Once bitten, Carrot loses its value.
The distance generates value and saliva
Woman keeping men at an arm length values

To offer at no cost
Shown or withdrawn,
The carrot is not eaten.
But only as it is shown
The rabbit is on run
And the carrot, too, is shone.
If you are withdrawn
I would cease to run
And you lose the fun.
Why is this futile act then?
If you shut out
I am done away with.
If you show up
I am enlivened.
In both ways
You’re not broken.
Why not the status quo, then?

Dormouse and a Ghost
This rare creature used to sleep all over the winter.
When the winter was over, one night the poor man heard
Somebody was scuffing the ragged doormat.
Then he slightly opened the door and peeped.
He saw it was scurrying away.
The next day at the same time
Scraping sound came.
He opened the door and kept a carrot on the mat.
This habit continued until the undernourished man died.
But it came as usual to the haunted house and there was always a carrot on the mat.

Hibernation
Hibernation
Occupy falling snow; claim it make a snowman with coal eyes and
carrot nose before winter is over and your task runs through your
fingers as water into soft the soil and is privatized when it runs into
a deep lake and you must pay if you want a drink or take a shower.
A carrot not enough to make soup, pieces of coal are not enough to
warm your cold hands. The barons of money have bought streams,
forests and mountains, fenced in and there are gates, you must pay
if you want to walk and see nature at her most enthralling liberty.
And you will think; where is our emancipation to express ourselves?
Nothing is free, why should it be? This is democracy the right to buy
and sell the world’s resources and charge whatever the market says.
And you pay for what is rightfully yours. If you do not occupy it now it
will be too late, spring is the name of misery and it is your fault for
sleeping when snow fell in your garden.

They Hung Him On A Cross (Demo, 1989)
They hung him of a cross
They hung him on a cross
They hung him on a cross for me
One day when I lost
They hung him on a cross
They hung him on a cross for me
They whooped him up the hill
They whooped him up the hill
They whooped him up the hill for me
One day when I lost
They hung him on a cross
They whooped him up the hill for me
He never said among them would
They never said among them would
They never said among them would for me
One day when I lost
They hung him on a cross
They hung him on a cross for me
They hurt him in the side
They bit him in the side
They bit him in the side for me
One day when I lost
They hung him on a cross
They hung him on a cross for me
They hung his head and died
They hung his head and died
He hung his head and died for me
One day when I lost
They hung him on a cross
They hung him on a cross for me

If This Would Mean An End To A Chase
I wish I could issue rose glasses to those in need.
Those hoping to get a taste of that dangling carrot.
Or a slice of apple pie topped with homemade icecream.
If this would mean an end to a chase.
And heartaches embraced would fade away from desiring,
Such teased treats to feed and fantasize.
I wish I could purchase enough peppermint sticks,
To dip in minted tea...
For all of those wishing a life lived in comfort and luxury.
Wouldn't it be nice to see on TV...
Parents laughing and singing with their children happily,
While engaged as a family living life peacefully.
If this would mean an end to a chase.
To live their lives as they see fit.
Without the constant bombardment,
Of being fed nonsense.
And heartaches embraced would fade away from desiring,
Such teased treats to feed and fantasize.

Defiance Is Pure
the mere act of saying “no”
when others put a gun to your head &
want nothing more than your unmitigated
acquiescence,
is a moment that builds up the skeleton inside
it stands up against all odds
it does not waver in the harshest of winds
it does not convert itself to any tame rendition
it is focused & deliberate
it is as steadfast as a tightened fist in the air of
militant, violent, ceaseless
oppression &
like a concrete statue that is still left standing
after the hurricane has torn up all that encircles it
like taking a carrot grater to an unfortunate
carrot,
you stand defiant
you stand beautiful
you stand
honest.

Alone (1)
Sharp iron nails were driven through flesh and bone
as upon the cross He hung alone.
'My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? '
He cried alone upon that tree.
He was attacked by Satan's bulls of Bashan
when alone He bore the sins of man.
While crowds stood staring at the gruesome sight
He hung alone to make things right.
As the sun was darkened and refused to shine
He died alone for these sins of mine.
Smitten of His God and forsaken was He
as He hung all alone there for me.
For He was wounded for me and His blood shed
when He hung alone there in my stead.
'My Lord and my God what love is this? ' I cried
'That for me alone You have died.'
to be continued........
I always make fun of KISS because I don't particularly think their music is anything.

A Happening Within
there is something in us that grows
into a complication,
the sophistication of the labyrinths that
we create in every word and line,
it used to be just a simple house with
one door without walls and ceiling
a theater for the dance of the wind
and the fireflies & perhaps
one window and a little patio to appease the senses
of simplicity
dressed like a rag doll
but it can't be prevented
as time grows more hands and feet and even wings
and horns
many subways are built
secret chambers
foxholes and slaughter houses
or tea tables
restricted areas and hidden homes
and buried cemeteries
and lost treasures
that will never be found
perhaps that is our nature
and also the nature of our poetry
there is a room where we make love
and there is only one person there
name not revealed
no one has a hint
there is a kitchen where no cooking is done
for fear of smoke and fire
where firewood is taboo and where cigarette speaks
a language of puffs
like Indian warriors communicating to
themselves
in the smoke of their palms
i, myself, create signs
that are designed more to confuse
than to
make bridges
the rivers are happier
and the clouds celebrate the success of
the floating
i am into this again
this chasm between two selves
split carrot stick
that falling that is endless
that bliss that is as silent as the star at night
when you are alone
and missing no
one.

Kooks
Will you stay in our lovers story
If you stay you wont be sorry
cause we believe in you
Soon youll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing
Will you stay in our lovers story
If you stay you wont be sorry
cause we believe in you
Soon youll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing
We bought a lot of things to keep you warm and dry
And a funny old crib on which the paint wont dry
I bought you a pair of shoes
A trumpet you can blow
And a book of rules
On what to say to people when they pick on you
cause if you stay with us youre gonna be pretty kookie too
Will you stay in my lovers story
If you stay you wont be sorry
cause we believe in you
Soon youll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing
And if you ever have to go to school
Remember how they messed up this old fool
Dont pick fights with the bullies or the cads
cause Im not much cop at punching
Other peoples dads
And if the homework brings you down
Then well throw it on the fire
And take the car downtown
Will you stay in our lovers story
If you stay you wont be sorry
cause we believe in you
Soon youll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing
Will you stay in our lovers story
If you stay you wont be sorry
cause we believe in you
Soon youll grow so take a chance
With a couple of kooks
Hung up on romancing
Will you stay
