To offer at no cost
Shown or withdrawn,
The carrot is not eaten.
But only as it is shown
The rabbit is on run
And the carrot, too, is shone.
If you are withdrawn
I would cease to run
And you lose the fun.
Why is this futile act then?
If you shut out
I am done away with.
If you show up
I am enlivened.
In both ways
You’re not broken.
Why not the status quo, then?

Carrot before rabbit
Carrot gets value in front of a rabbit
And the rabbit wets its tongue, pursuing.
Once bitten, Carrot loses its value.
The distance generates value and saliva

After The County Show
“Hello carrot, my word you do look tasty.”
“Oh, hello knife you too look pretty sharp
a cut above the rest I’d say, but let’s not be too hasty.”
“I say carrot, are you here for today’s county dinner? ”
“No, no not I, I’m a showpiece,
voted best of the show, a gold ribbon winner.”
“I knew you were special, lying next to the sole from Dover,
but surely you must know what you’re doing here
now that the county show is over? ”
“I reckon they want to show me off to all the local villagers.”
“Somehow carrot I think you’d better reckon again,
whilst I slice up the beans and cabbages.”

Ad Baculum...
it was not the line that he towed
not the carrot but the stick
that made him what he had always been
a donkey not the rabbit
never the caterpillar dreaming of
the flower.

A Chase
Since birth
It's an endless chase.
A carrot was hung before me
And I was made to run.
Run....run......
Surpass others
Make sure you grab it
Before anyone.
The carrot went on
Changing its nature and color
Once you hung it for me
Now see, I have my own.
Once a compulsion
Now an instilled obsession
Drives me hard
Says, run and run.
Dropped humanity
Lost love
Stay behind;
Time for none.
Is it all I am here for?
Bother sometimes
A raising question.

The Heroic Carrot
The floods have ruined the British vegetable growers.
Tough. But
the supermarkets will just buy elsewhere,
we'll hardly notice, apart from TV's brief comment...
This week, what of our organic vegetable bag
whose carrots are usually a joyful memory
of what carrots, pulled yesterday, used to, still can, taste like?
- so this week, just one, huge carrot. The Great Survivor.
Gnarled, a giant among the pretty, washed, and fashionable ones
smiling under the golden light of supermarket shelves -
it looked as if it had fought battles, come through wars
which of course few want to be reminded of
by those old veterans with their tales of times
too testing of mortality for us to think about...
eaten later, it would have a subtler taste -
of gratitude, of praise.
A kitchen; a carrot; a man holding a knife,
on the edge of tears.

If It's Love!
It's important that unshown love,
Comes directly shown from you.
To say it...
Doesn't make,
That-love-be-true!
It's important that unshown love,
Is a thing one wants to do...
Just to prove what is said,
Is absolutely true.
A hug,
And maybe a kiss.
A touch,
That has been missed.
A show of thoughtfulness...
Can go a very long distance.
A call,
Every once in a while...
Will go further than a mile.
If love is there to be shared...
Show someone they are cared for!
And doubts will come no more.
It's important that unshown love,
Comes directly shown from you.
To say it...
Doesn't make,
That-love-be-true!
It's important it's directly shown,
If it's love.
Yes!
It's important it's directly shown,
If it's love.
Yes!
It's important it's directly shown.
It's important it's directly shown.
It's important it's directly shown,
If it's love!
It shoos a boo-hooin'...
Known.
It's important it's directly shown.
It's important it's directly shown.
It's important it's directly shown,
If it's love!
A hug,
And maybe a kiss.
A touch,
That has been missed.
A show of thoughtfulness...
Can go a very long distance.
It's important it's directly shown.
It's important it's directly shown.
It's important it's directly shown,
If it's love!

My rabbit
That animal was meek
was gonna take a little peek
He had a funny habit
He was a cute little rabbit
When I offered him a carrot
He flew like a parrot
He went to his burrow
Leaving me with sorrow

I am a little rabbit
- I am a little rabbit, hrum – hrum,
- I like sweet carrot, hrum – hrum,
- I’m like a ferret, hrum – hrum,
- Live in a burrow, hrum – hrum,
- Though it’s narrow, hrum – hrum,
- Now I am eating cabbage, hrum – hrum,
- It’s for my courage, hrum – hrum.
- Dear little rabbit, tell me about your habit!
- Hrum – hrum!

Dormouse and a Ghost
This rare creature used to sleep all over the winter.
When the winter was over, one night the poor man heard
Somebody was scuffing the ragged doormat.
Then he slightly opened the door and peeped.
He saw it was scurrying away.
The next day at the same time
Scraping sound came.
He opened the door and kept a carrot on the mat.
This habit continued until the undernourished man died.
But it came as usual to the haunted house and there was always a carrot on the mat.

Let It Be Known, Let This Be Shown
I am wild
I am crazy
But to you
I am your lady
Let this be known
Let this be shown
I am more than meets the eye
Imp not gone sit back and let the world fly
My feelings for you will never die
Let this be known
Let this be shown
Momma didn't raise any fool
I might seem bad
But I follow the rules
Let this be known
Let this be shown
My body is not your toy
I want a man not a boy
I am a woman not a little girl
Let this be known
Let this be shown

Darkness (a Fragment)
But that from slow dissolving pomps of dawn
No verity of slowly strengthening light
Early or late hath issued; that the day
Scarce-shown, relapses rather, self-withdrawn,
Back to the glooms of ante-natal night,
For this, O human beings, mourn we may.

How Would I Know It
You may be sweeter than honey.
But how would I know it.
You may not trick me but treat.
But how would I know it.
You may be perfect and right.
And the spice of my life.
But...
How would I know what's not shown to me.
You may be one that I desire.
But how would I know it.
And the type that I like.
But how would I know it.
You may be one of a kind,
To take up all my time.
But...
How would I know what's not shown to me.
And how would I know what only others can see.
Show me what's unknown.
So I can come to know it.
Show me to others shown.
So I can come to know what others seem to see.
You may be sweeter than honey.
But how will I know it.
Perfect and nice and some say right.
But will I come to know what others seem to see.
And what the others see will I believe.

Everything But Me
Ashes falling on the ground
Winds that blow a hollow sound
Once standing taller still
Now falling by your will
How many times the sun has shown
On everything but me
Rain that falls upon my heart
Washes away the endings start
I try to sing aloud but
My voice is lost within the crowd
How many times the sun has shown
On everything but me
Every little thing is free
Every little moment sings
Every little ray of sunshine
Every little broken heart of mine
How many times the sun has shown
On everything but me
Blinded by the snow today
My true friend grey skies comes to play
Lost inside my forest desire
Feeling this wild funeral pyre
How many times the sun has shown
On everything but me
Every little thing is free
Every little moment sings
Every little ray of sunshine
Every little broken heart of mine
How many times the sun has shown
On everything but me
Every little thing is free
Every little moment sings
Every little ray of sunshine
Every little broken heart of mine
How many times the sun has shown
On everything but me

X Diary 07 Happy Sam And The Magic Horse
A Children's Tale
Once upon a time
There was a little boy called Happy Sam
Happy Sam lived in a house by a forest
With his mother and his father
And his baby brother
Lucky Peter
One day Happy Sam was walking in the forest
Further from home than he had been before
And he saw –
A HORSE
In the horse’s mouth there was –
A KEY
Happy Sam wanted that key
'HORSE'
Said Happy Sam
'GIVE ME THE KEY'
'Neigh'
Said the horse
Without letting go of the key
Well Happy Sam wanted that key really badly
So he thought
And he thought
And he had -
AN IDEA
Then he ran through the forest
And he ran through the garden
And he ran through the kitchen
And he ran to the refrigerator
And he found -
A CARROT
Then he ran back to the horse
And he said
'HERE HORSE
HAVE A CARROT! '
Well the horse wanted that carrot
So he opened his mouth to get it
And -
HE DROPPED THE KEY
Happy Sam caught the key
And he ran through the forest
And he ran through the garden
And he ran to his family
And he noticed for the first time
That in their hearts there were -
KEYHOLES
And he tried his new key
And he found that it -
JUST FITTED

Exposed
With an obvious uncaring done,
Their recent tactics shown to everyone...
Has lost them much respect.
With a designation of them as a people,
Deserving of their lowlife status.
What is there left about them,
That can be admired?
Their selfishness described has been exposed.
What is there left about them,
Is aspiring with a wish to achieve?
Their status to show themselves,
Willing to allow to see others suffer and bleed?
With an obvious uncaring done,
Their recent tactics shown to everyone...
Has lost them much respect.
With a designation of them as a people,
Deserving of their lowlife status.
No matter how much class,
They can squeeze from a plastic existence.
They will choose to be ruthless in any situation.
And this has proven to be a testimony of their reality.
Opened to review as it is since it is no longer concealed.
These folks are petty thieves in leadership positions.
These folks are thieves and that has been revealed.

Anyway
Welcome
Or should I say goodbye
Its a question how close we are apart
Are you going back home after this show
Or leaving for the wild
And when you passing the wardrobe
What will you take
Your worn out hat of hopes
Or someone elses attractive furs to make it through
The playgrounds of your life
All is shown
All shut down
All the world is gone
All the pieces came together
Finally
But not too late
All is shown
All shut down
All the world is gone
Just pretend that Im not there
Make your choice
I love you anyway
Just make your choice
Pretend that Im not there
All the world is gone
All the world is gone
Just take it
Just take it
And youll make it
Alright, yeah
Ride on
Ride on

Defiance Is Pure
the mere act of saying “no”
when others put a gun to your head &
want nothing more than your unmitigated
acquiescence,
is a moment that builds up the skeleton inside
it stands up against all odds
it does not waver in the harshest of winds
it does not convert itself to any tame rendition
it is focused & deliberate
it is as steadfast as a tightened fist in the air of
militant, violent, ceaseless
oppression &
like a concrete statue that is still left standing
after the hurricane has torn up all that encircles it
like taking a carrot grater to an unfortunate
carrot,
you stand defiant
you stand beautiful
you stand
honest.

Move Over
My first guest is one of the most exciting singers there is. some think the most exciting. we have extra stage hands to hold the roof down when she sings. if you have never seen janis joplin,
Is your chance. here is janis joplin!
Hey! this song's about rock & roll, and needs some help from the crowd. it goes like this. i can't hear ya!!
Hey! you say that it's over baby, lord,
You say that it's over dear,
But still you hang around me, come on,
Won't you move over.
Yeah! you know that i need a man, hey,
You know that i need a man,
But when i ask you to you just say
That you think you can.
Hey! please dontcha do it to me, babe, no!
Please dontcha do it to me, baby,
Either take the love i offer
Or let me be.
I ain't got no time for walking, no!
I ain't got no time for walking,
What's a poor girl gonna do with your life,
Life all just dangling ?
Hey! make up your mind, honey,
You're playing with me.
Make up your mind, honey,
You're playing with me,
I said now well either be my loving man,
Come on, let me honey, let me be, yeah!
You say that it's over, baby, huh!
You say that it's over dear,
But still you hang around me, come on,
Won't you move over.
Hey! you know that i need a man, baby,
You know that i need a man.
When i ask you to you just say
That you think you can.
I ain't quite a-ready for walking, no!
I ain't quite a-ready for walking,
'cause whatcha gonna do with your life,
Life all just dangling ?
Honey, i feel that it's dangling
Honey, lord, lord, lord.
It's like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, dear.
Oh! yeah! yeah! whew!
