All This Information
All of us seem to walk away from everything
It takes a certain amount of originality to describe this place as home
And all of us seem to walk away from everything
It takes a certain amount of originality to describe yourself as interesting
And all of us seem to walk away from everything
It takes a certain amount of originality to describe yourself as home
All this information that we have to choose from
It means nothing to you
It means nothing to you
There's no suggestion that it's needless
When the competition is so needless
It's all so meaningless
There's no suggestion that it's needless
When the competition is so needless
It's all so meaningless
All of us seem to walk away from everything
It takes a certain amount of personality to describe yourself as interesting
And all of us seem to walk away from everything
It takes a certain amount of personality to describe yourself as truly truly honest
All this information that we have to choose from
It means nothing to you
It means nothing to you
There's no suggestion that it's needless
When the competition is so needless
It's all so meaningless
There's no suggestion that it's needless
When the competition is so needless
It's all so meaningless
There's no suggestion that it's needless
When the competition is so needless
It's all so meaningless
There's no suggestion that it's needless
When the competition is so needless
It's so needless when things change

Dialogue (Part 1 & 2)
Part i
Are you optimistic 'bout the way things are going?
No, i never ever think of it at all
Don't you ever worry
When you see what's going down?
No, i try to mind my business, that is, no business at all
When it's time to function as a feeling human being
Will your bachelor of arts help you get by?
I hope to study further, a few more years or so
I also hope to keep a steady high
Will you try to change things
Use the power that you have, the power of a million new ideas?
What is this power you speak of and this need for things to change?
I always thought that everything was fine
Don't you feel repression just closing in around?
No, the campus here is very, very free
Don't it make you angry the way war is dragging on?
Well, i hope the president knows what he's into, i don't know
Don't you ever see the starvation in the city where you live
All the needless hunger all the needless pain?
I haven't been there lately, the country is so fine
But my neighbors don't seem hungry 'cause they haven't got the time
Thank you for the talk, you know you really eased my mind
I was troubled by the shapes of things to come
Well, if you had my outlook your feelings would be numb
You'd always think that everything was fine
Part ii
We can make it happen
We can change the world now
We can save the children
We can make it better
We can make it happen
We can save the children
We can make it happen

Let's Flood
Planned things not always happen, but happen things you had no plans for. And yet many things that lie ahead of you, you dont know. Our life is like that of a river; joins another river on its way to the ocean; ocean of death, eternity.
It trickles down and down and goes on. Now it's like two... stronger, steadier, and needless to say non-splittable... needless, because; have you ever seen a river divide in parts? They are one now... that is one.
Being one they maybe enjoyed more.... each had their choice of routes to venture... dependability was nil, indulgence could be high and sacrifices meant none....
But that's better this way. They, no, no they, it, it can be more aggressive now. It can tell the world how it wants it, not the world deciding it. It doesn't have to snake down, but will push over and will wash away the stubborn stones on its way to the ocean. Stones will be gentler to it now, will respect it. Bushes will respect it. Scrubs will respect it. Trees will respect. Rocks will respect it. They will respect it.
The ocean is clean
The ocean is pure
The ocean is immortality
The world will respect us

Take On Me (demo)
(pal waaktaar/magne furuholmen/morten harket)
We're talking away
I don't know what
I'm to say
I'll say it anyway
Today's another day to find you
Shying away
I'll be coming for your love, ok?
Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two
So needless to say
I'm odds and ends
But that's me
Stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is ok.
Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry
Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two
Oh the things that you say
Is it live or
Just to play my worries away
You're all the things
I've got to remember
You're shying away
I'll be coming for you anyway
Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

Needless to Say...
Needless to say...
A way of life we wished conveyed,
Is outdated...
As it should be portrayed.
To slay our fellowman,
To get an upper hand...
Does not sit well,
With those 'deities' in command.
And until we understand that...
We will always find ourselves lost in time.
Trapped.
And where we are now isn't about that at all!
Needless to say...
If we continue to disobey,
We will receive...
A devastation we leave!
And it will not be left as life to live!
Without a thing needed then left to say.
Or a way to forgive our transgressions,
None left can say...
There is another day,
They can be handed to another to give!
Needlessly.

Love has its own language
The intensity of kisses,
the look in eyes
that burns flaming,
the touch of hands
which is loaded with intensity,
is all without true meaning
if there isn’t love
between partners.
Love has its own language,
that people speak with each other
and at times words are needless:
The silent understanding
of what is going on in the heart,
the gladness and trust
which leaks out of its own accord,
the being together
without having
to touch each other;
says deeper things
without having to use words.

You know the puritan ethic that started out four centuries ago in this country, needless to say - at least for the moment - a thing of the past - from what I can tell.

There’s Sometimes A Silence
There’s sometimes a silence
hanging pregnant,
a silence that says that something
almost unstoppable is going to happen,
but sometimes words are totally needless
when eyes, mouths and bodies
are talking a own language,
when things turn into making love.

Sonnet: Just Correct Yourself
Don’t blame the door for creakiness when old;
Don’t blame the oven for burnt cakes it bakes;
Don’t blame the seller of the things bought/sold;
Don’t blame the cot for squeaky noise, it makes.
Don’t blame the stars or dates or time of year;
Don’t blame the pen for writing bad verses;
Don’t blame the pedestrian, stone-deaf by ear;
Don’t blame the voters for your reverses.
For, failures could be pre-destined by God,
Or they could happen on account of us;
Our human reasoning can’t explain things odd;
Why blame the cyclist hit by our ‘spare-bus’.
Set-backs will come in all the things we do;
But they should never serve to perturb you.

So Excited I Am With Life
So excited I am with life.
On certain days when I awaken,
I vow to invest my sights and thoughts...
Into perceiving all things God has created,
As oozing with an abundance of love, purity and joy!
And...
Needless to say,
On those 'certain' days I am feeling that way...
I make sure I am not too far,
From my comfort zone.

A Mother's Pain
I'm pained a lot
O'darling with no heart
On bygone past
Unknowing true or false
Meaningless at me
When you shout
Still more paining a lot
O'darling with no heart
On needless waste
Unknowing true or false
Your spouse, your chit
Meaningless at you
When they shout
Paining a lot o'darling
Paining, paining, paining
Still a lot more paining
O'darling with no sense
On needless waste
Senseless your utterance
Unknowing of erratic deed
Meaningless at others
when uttered in shouts
Paining deathful o'darling
paining deathful, deathful..

Raised to Express
So innocent then,
Were my public aggressions!
My willingness to connect,
All aspects of my identity...
With an outspokenness,
Is not new to me.
Raised to express!
And not to regress...
In needless nonstop guessing.
To do my best,
Is...
Something done I should do first for me.
Raised to express!
And not to regress...
In needless nonstop guessing.
And,
To do my best
Is...
Something done I should do first for me.
Since no one better knows my destiny!
So innocent then,
Were my public aggressions!
My willingness to connect,
All aspects of my identity...
With an outspokenness,
Is not new to me.
Raised to express!
And not to regress...
In needless nonstop guessing.
And,
To do my best
Is...
Something done I should do first for me.
And,
To do my best
Is...
Something done I should do first for me.
Every aspect of my life delights,
Since no one better knows my destiny!
Raised to express!
With no need for nonstop guessing.
Or regress to foolishness.
Since,
No one better knows my destiny!

It Has Always Been You - Pt1
Part 1
Even as a little child I do now recall
You often would respond to my call.
And whenever I was filled with sorrow
about certain things feared of tomorrow
You would comfort me in some natural way
assuring me there wouldn't be such a day
and then my heart would experience much joy
almost just like acquiring a long expected toy.
Together we would have laughter and fun
like a couple of children playing in the sun.
Though You did reproach me when I was bad
then lovingly forgive me when I'd be so sad.
You would always try and point out to me
the good things around there were to see.
You always were the one I called on when in need
beseeching You as no one else believed me indeed.
You were more or less my constant companion and friend
and together would see things through untill the very end.
Now and then I would go my separate way and depart
but sooner or later I would remember You in my heart.
It seemed somehow, You had a permanent place in there
as if it would be impossible to leave it empty and bare.

Note: I have divided this poem into several parts as it is too long for the average reader and at the same time to arouse a little curiosity. Needless to say it is also autobiographical. Enjoy!

Poor Unfortunate Souls
How poor unfortunate souls they are;
Who neither know nor care to know,
What causes purity in the snow,
What causes sunshine in the hay.
That do not know the realities,
What pains and sorrows are given by hate,
What lifeless things so captivate,
What peace and charm thrives in the seas.
What yearns the trees and bees to grow,
What makes it special -our human lives;
What things in you that success drives,
What takes the ego, of things to throw.
Needless they be, yet are deceitful
These colourless souls, these powerless minds,
Of morality, of types and kinds,
Of what it takes to be the fruitful.
And thence we have this rising breed,
Those who seek no dreams, no colorful thoughts-
Of midday illusions, of nightly draughts,
Yet only the demised peoples' greed.
So, this is it that we must do,
To end this streak, once and for all.
Have faith in heart, you will stand tall;
Against these pigmies of all worlds too.

Wasteland
Can you see us now were on our own
And every chance has just come and just gone
Now it looks so dark and so cold
Think of the minds we sold
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
I can remember things that looked so bright
And I could talk to you without all this spite
Can you picture all thats past
Does your face deform so fast
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
'cause when I stop and look into your head
I think of all the things that you said
When I look up into your eyes
I see the creature that I despise
Kill now
Kill now
Kill now
Kill now
Can you see us now were on our own
And every chance has just come and gone
Ive been wrong but youve been unkind
Theres so much more that I cant find
Wasteland
Wasteland
Wasteland...

Play It Safe
Play it safe.
If you don't want things too complicated,
By words you speak that may escalate...
To offend naysayers waiting to berate,
Every move or decision you make...
Play it safe.
Play it safe.
And if you choose to do this,
Don't hesitate.
Or let anything you happen to hear,
Appear to irritate you into needless debate
Just to lure you to expose impatience.
Play it safe.
Refuse to use excuses to indicate,
To those detractors...
It's okay to re-route your path.
And direction of your fate.
Play it safe.
If you must correct with a slower pace...
By coming face-to-face to eliminate,
Accusations made...
With a breaking away.
Do it...
Before you find the time is late.
Play it safe!
