Waiting To Be Eaten
I remember going with my mother
to the butcher
in the days when the naked carcasses
hung on hooks in the front of the shop
for all the customers to see
not hidden like a secret nobody must know.
The blood from the meat
slowly dripping onto the wood shavings below
filling my nostrils with a sickly-sweet scent
that made me sneeze
that made me feel sick
but also excited me somehow.
And how like headless, limbless
torsos the carcasses looked
so that I could imagine myself
hanging there
headless, limbless
waiting to be eaten.

Private Limbless Hero
Private Limbless Soldier.
Shaking dancers making chances
Form rows of soldiers
Fighting battles in lost romances
Swinging on ropes over bell towers
Ringing songs as battle commences
Breaking legs at fields on slaughter
Bellies full of bombs making new laughter
Explode to feed another soldier
Lying limbless hero not quite fed
Spew out their mother and father
On dead enemy soldier.
Private limbless hero
Surrounded by circle of army
Each with gun to their heads
They all shoot together
And fall on private limbless hero
Who see’s their limbs flutter
Together making another limb
That grows from his shoulder
So he can hold their pistol
Under his chin, then kill
Just another soldier.

Petrified lamb
The petrified lamb shivered
It wailed in vain
Searching for the herd
He was separated from
But no one was in sight
The poor animal cried all night
The biting cold was hurting him
Tied to a pole near a ramshackle
Meat shop he felt lonely
He was sold to a butcher
By the villager who always
Used to fondle him while grazing
How could he be so cruel
Thought the poor lamb
Even before the butcher came
Customers reached the shop
To buy fresh stock of meat
The poor animal felt
Someone would rescue him
From this precarious predicament
Not knowing the fate in store for him
The butcher came with his son in tow
Sharpened the knife
On a block of stone
Held the poor lamb to the ground
And slit its throat
Fountain of blood
Was on the floor
The lamb struggled
Before lying dead on the ground
Skinned, cleaned and hung
Upside down
Ready for buyers to select
The portions that they
Liked to buy
What a horrible scene
Repeated every day
On poor mute creatures
Who like us
Would like to live

Headless Cross
Look through the people, and on through the mist
To the hill of the headless cross
Where all witches meet, on a night such as this
And the power of darkness is host
They come face to face, eye to eye, soul to soul
With and angel that fell from the sky
Borne on the air, the screams and the wails
Of the masses appointed to die
Listen for the feet as they pound the land to a tune of thunder
Watch as the legions ride again to a fate of death or torture
At the headless cross, at the headless cross
From the first evil night, when a black flash of light
Cut the crucifix half to the ground
Theres been no escape from the power of satan
On a nation so brave and so proud
Listen for the feet as they pound the land to a tune of thunder
Watch as the legions ride again to a fate of death or torture
At the headless cross, at the headless cross
How do you feel, when the locks refuse the key
And the master is calling your name
Does the luck of the charm, really keep you from harm?
Does the talisman protect you from pain?
Listen for the feet as they pound the land to a tune of thunder
Watch as the legions ride again to a fate of death or torture
At the headless cross, at the headless cross
From the first evil night, when a black flash of light
Cut the crucifix half to the ground
Theres no escaping the power of satan
On a nation so brave and so proud
Listen for the feet as they pound the land to a tune of thunder
Watch as the legions ride again to a fate of death or torture, oh no, oh
At the headless cross, at the headless cross
At the headless cross, oh, at the headless cross
Where will you run to?
At the headless cross
Look, to the headless cross

Wish I was a Vegetarian!
I wish I were a vegetarian
I'd sleep a little easier
Without dead sheep to count
Brushing my teeth, not watching out
For stray pieces of meat
I'm searching for the discipline
Excuse or motivating force
To bolster my resolve to eat
And be as I should long have been
Of flesh and guilt, absolved and free
I've visited the slaughter-house
Where brains are stunned, carcasses hung
And bled and quartered into steak
The regiments of hens, all caged, debeaked
The pigs castrated, eunuchs waiting for the end to come.
I don't care how the surplus beasts would do -
We're overpopulated here ourselves!
Just let them all run free, I guess
In case they could feel happiness
They wouldn't be deprived of it by me
It's not about them, in the end
It's all familiarity
And if grandchildren ever crowd my knee
They won't recoil and faint beside my feet:
Oh man, what were you thinking, way back then -
Killing poor creatures for their meat?

Hooks In You
I got the keys to view at number 22
Behind my green door theres nothing to see
Stone cold sober and sitting in silence
Laid back and looking for sympathy
I like a girl who knows where shes bound
I dont like girls whove been hanging aroung
Hooks in you hooks in me hooks in the ceiling
For that well hung feeling
No big deal no big string strung up on love i
Got the hooks screwed in
Shes tied up she cant come to the phone
You must have got your wires crossed cos she aint home
Knock on wood - you know I like that sound
She never could keep her feet on the grou7nd
Right on the money got it wrapped up tight
New ideas for the decor tonight
Gonna make this house a peservation zone
Gonn set her in concrete set her up on her own

Colin The Cumberland Sausage
Colin the Cumberland sausage
was as happy as a pig in mud.
Today the master butcher made him
for the table of Mr Wood.
So full of beans was Colin
he was nearly bursting from his skin,
until the butcher wrapped him in paper
for the errand boy to deliver him.
Colin the Cumberland sausage
was delivered the very same day
to Publican Wood at the Barley Mow pub
who would cook him in the usual way.
Colin was laid out on the table
ready to go in the pan,
but Wuffer the dog entered the kitchen
and took Colin in his mouth and ran.
Now nobody knows what became of Colin
we assume he was eaten by the dog,
but don’t be surprised to see his brother
on the table of the Barley Mow pub.

On Purpose
I see the blood dripping down my arm.
Red liquid in a running line
I smell the blood dripping down my arm.
Irony and salty
I hear the blood dripping down my arm.
Making splashes as drops hit the floor
I taste the blood dripping down my arm.
Mineraly and smooth
I feel the blood dripping down my arm.
A tickle covering immense pain
Because I cut myself
On purpose

A shady wine bar in Hackney
He was obviously not a la carte,
a ready meal, waiting for the tall blonde to gobble him up.
He was 'today's special' with a free cappuccino.
He sauntered over, wafting of eau de toilette,
and giving her that 'get a load of me' look, in a sumptuous way
while displaying his je ne c'est quoi.
His meat and two veg looked a bit greasy
and his plum tart was askew and rather tired
but she was desperate for it and made an attempt at the menu.
Well, what's a blonde to do when she hasn't ‘eaten' for days
and her waist band is so loose,
her strides are just about to fall to her ankles.

Movin
I was sittin with the sun, meltin into the horizon
High in the hills, up above topanga canyon
And Ive never been to any other place that made me feel more like movin
Made me feel like movin.
Stopped into a shop where I met a young lady
She thought I ought to move, she said livin here could save me
Oh and Ive never been with any other girl who made me feel more like movin
She made me feel just like movin.
But I used to wonder why people got so excited
About movin to california
Ive only been here a week but Ive been enlightened
To a whole new way of life
And it makes me feel just like movin.
I was sittin with the sun, meltin into the horizon
High in the hills, up above topanga canyon
And Ive never been to any other place that made me feel more like movin
Made me feel like movin.
But I used to wonder why people got so excited
About movin to california
Ive only been here a week but Ive been enlightened
To a whole new way of life
And it makes me feel just like movin.

Butcher Boosted
Why do they flock,
To have their meat...
Stripped clean of fat?
And who is that selected...
To do just that?
This butcher boosted,
Is preferred!
And slices exactly what is wished.
To rid them of maggots leeching.
And feed to them a diet to feast...
With an increased desire,
To eat from a substance...
More nutritiously dished!
Without those promises of expectations...
That have left them with tastebuds,
Long on delusion!
And not fed with sensations demanded.
This butcher boosted...
Openly will command,
With an exposed and uncloaked hand...
Those who witness the slicing that is done,
Will come to understand!
This butcher boosted is no joke.
And each stroke is meant,
To rid them from all deceptions hidden.
And qualified are the intentions made...
To open all eyes along the way!
'There is no fat on this cat's back!
Down to basics.
With an eye on facts.
Delivered and received!
To nourish a return of reality believed.'

Slow....
slowly
one finds what had long been missing,
it is not seen
it is just felt by the lines of the palms
by the tips of
the fingers
slowly one remembers the scent
it is not seen
it is getting inside the nerves
of the nostrils
and then one begins to remember
and then
the lips begin to part
shaping that
lonesome
smile.

Do you remember...because I do
I remember when you said I love you
I remember when I said yeah me too
I remember when you said love me
I remember when you carved our names in that old oak tree
I remember our first kiss
and I ignored the fact that you missed
I remember when you said together...always
I remember when I stood in front of you dazzled and amazed
I remember the sparkle in your eyes and
I remember the tears you made me cry
I remember when I could never be truly honest with you
I remember me packing, and you asking is there anything that I can do
I remember when I looked into your eyes and
I remember when we said our goodbyes

The Video Shop
The local factorys been pulled down
By an overseas corporation
Now all of my brothers are looking around
For alternative occupation
I was sitting by the telly with my brother, kenny
When suddenly the penny dropped
While all of my brothers are sitting at home
Ive got a bank loan and Ive opened up my very own
Video shop
Video shop
At the video shop
I can fly, fly you away
Comedy and tragedy are all sitting on my shelf
And if youve got a fantasy
For a small rental fee
You can set yourself free
At my video shop
At my video shop
At the video shop
I can fly, fly you away
At the video shop
Let me fly, fly you away
From all of the depression in you head
Caused by all the living in the red
Ive got a bootleg version of citizen kane
A second hand copy of psycho
Ive taped them off the telly so you shouldnt complain
And theres no guarantee youll get your money back again
From my video shop
My video shop
If you want to escape, I can rent you a tape
To relieve your situation
If you feel a bit low, I got a good peep show
cos everybody knows almost anything goes
At my video shop
At my video shop
One fifty a day and Ill fly, fly you away
Its nothing to pay to fly far, far away
I can help you through that lonely night
Ive got technicolour, black and white
I can guide you through those empty days
Make you smile and take your blues away
O let me fly you away
At my video shop
Fly, fly you away
Another factorys been knocked down
But nobody ever complains
And all of my brothers are customers now
We all play video games
I can see it in the eyes of all the lonely wives
If theyre bored and they feel like a change
I do sales, rentals, even a swop
And if you feel like a change, well it can all be arranged
At my video shop
At my video shop
At my video shop
At my video shop
Let me fly, fly you away
And everyone who walks in through that door
Has got something that theyre looking for
At my video shop
At my video shop
At the video shop
I can fly, fly you away
At the video shop
Let me fly, fly you away
Oh, at the video shop
Oh, at the video shop
Oh, at the video shop

The Scent
As I lay alone late tonight I hold your pillow tight and inhale your scent.
The scent that sends my mind back to the last time we made love.
Now, as I inhale more of the scent of you I start to feel your presences.
I begin to feel soft tenderness of your kisses.
I then feel your touch stroking every inch of my body.
I also feel the motion of your hips just like I did the last night we made love.
As I take one last deep breath and inhale the scent that is the essence of you.
I feel you doing the same thing as you also lay alone without me.
What I Know About My Dad Is Only A Few Things
What I know about my dad is only a few things,
eyes that radiates in seriousness,
he was sometimes strict but it was measured by love,
he was a god fearing man, but an Afrikaner
into the depths of his soul
and a teacher of history and Afrikaans
I remember his voice
reading the poems that he prepared
for post graduate studies in literature,
which made me get gooseflesh
from enjoyment
and so 'early autumn, '
'the headless horseman'
'Maria' and 'I will go to my father'
and many other poems
became to lie deep in my heart.

Those Infantry Days
Remembering back in Those Infantry Days,
Bringing back those feelings of being big and bad craze.
Well part of that was true,
Some times it made us feel like monkeys in a zoo.
Let's think back to 15 to 25 (roadside march) hump,
Yep those days we crazy, but to remember them make us feel pumped.
As we were loaded down with those big packs,
It surely gave us stronger legs….but sore freaking backs.
At times we would stop for rest, and water breaks too,
the men gave all they could but
still dropped out from dehydration and feeling blue.
It really made us mad when we would see a truck or car going by fast,
as they would kick up the dust, and hell the coughing would surely last.
Oh yes, in those days we were all still so young,
But those days are long gone; and to remember how everyone helped and supported us, to make sure we hung.

The Days to Remember
Do you remember the days?
The days of Cinderella wanting to go the ball
The days of the seven dwarfs
The days when you believed in it
I remember those days
The days you held your mother’s hand
The days when you wished on a star
The days you believed that wish would come true
Do you remember the days?
The days of jump rope
The days of secret hand shakes
The days you believed it was just so easy
I remember those days
The days when you would hide and they would seek
The days of spending all day playing ball
The days you thought it would never get hard
We all remember those days

I am Waiting for You
When I first met you, you were play hard to get
You better than any other guy I ever know
You break down my walls and barriers that I had been putting up
You made me feel safe and secure around you
You are wonderful as who you are
I'm waiting for you
Everything you say was perfect
You are everything I am looking for in a boyfriend
You made me had a good time in class
I am breaking out of my shell more
I feel a lot more comfortable
I just don't show it
I can't believe you are single
I want to made you mine
All signs you giving to me is so cute and sweet of you
I wish I show you how I feel about you
You don't think I care, but I do
I play hard to get too
You get what I am going though
You are so mysterious
You are everything off my checklist
You are my Mr. Right
I can't stop dreaming about you
I am see what happen until then
I can't stop smiling
I hope there is something between us one day
I know we barely talk a lot
I feel like I know you forever
I am waiting for you
I love you for you
You made me realized you are different
You will see I am right here waiting for you and no one else
I don't care what anyone else says
You are the one for me
It feels so right
I'm waiting for you

Timeless
Pain like this,
Hurts like never before,
I've never known pain,
As bad as this.
You hurt me,
Do you know that,
Do you know,
That I miss you?
I lied before,
When I said it's okay,
Because I'm truly,
Dying on the inside.
But I'd never tell you,
That you made me this way,
Because I don't want you,
To hurt like this.
I care about you,
Too much to,
Make you feel,
Even a little pain.
Did you know that,
I'd never hurt you,
I would have never ever,
Let you go.
You were special,
Rather are special,
And you'll always,
Have a place in my heart.
But I must know,
Why you let me go,
Why you turned,
And walked away.
Oh please tell me,
Tell me what I did,
Tell me why,
I stand here alone.
You made your promises,
That I thought you could keep,
But you broke them all,
When you left me.
I need you here,
At my side,
I long for the days,
When you were here.
I remember those days,
When you were at my side,
I remember the way,
You looked in my eyes.
I miss those days,
When you'd just gaze at me,
When your glance,
Made me smile.
Every second felt timeless,
Every second was perfect,
And I knew that what,
We had was true.
But my dear I ask,
That you tell me why,
Why I sit here,
Dying for you.

All The Same
Remember when I carried that heavy load,
Remember when I fought that long battle,
Remember when the rocks fell on me,
Remember the dying moments my love,
Remember the tragedy that faced me,
Remember you never moved my love,
In the demise of your man you stood still,
Watching me sink and not giving a hand,
Remember the care and concern my love,
Remember when you were sick on bed,
When I ran to you to see you recover,
Remember when I was sick on bed my love,
When you enjoyed and slept to the fullest,
Remember when I missed you my love,
When I came all along to be with you,
Remember when you missed me my love,
When you stayed and never bothered to step,
Remember the days when nights were cold,
When I made a choice to be with you,
Remember when the day was so perfect,
When you made the choice to stay in bed,
Remember the trees that were long standing,
When you thought of cutting them for no reason
Remember the war that approached us,
When we chose to be cowards than warriors,
Remember the water that flowed,
When our hearts did flood within,
Remember the moments I shouted,
When you pretended you were not hearing,
Remember the effort I put my love,
When you never did the same,
All the same my love, I love you
