I began the process of recording myself seriously in the fall of 1999. If I could finish an album of my own music, I would. Five years later I am happy to say I have.

This is an album of songs that I've always loved, tunes that I heard. For the first time in 53 years of recording, I really had control over an entire album, start to finish.

New Years Eve 1999
Written by gretchen peters
Baby, lets make a date for a night on the town
How does the turn of the century sound
I guarantee that well have a good time
New years eve 1999
Now I know it sounds a bit premature
But Im askin you now cause I want to be sure
Do you have anything else in mind
New years eve 1999
Well drink pink champagne from a plastic cup
Dance all night til the sun comes up
Well say its been a pretty good century
Except for that weekend in 93
Then well go home to our warn winter bed
And tuck in the kids with a kiss on the head
And sing one more chorus of auld lang syne
New years eve 1999
Ill be your sweetheart if youll be mine
New years eve 1999, new years eve 1999

With this new album, I prepared for it a long time, and I was happy with the songs and the production. I felt that I proved myself with the first album, and with this new album, I just want to share some of my music. And that was always my feeling and my intention.

Allow me to re-introduce myself, My name is HOV
H to the O-V, I used to move snowflakes by the O.Z.,
I guess even back then you can call me,
C.E.O of the R.O.C HOV,
Fresh out the frying pan into the fire,
I be the, music biz number 1 supplier
Flier than a piece or paper bearing my name,
Got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain, thats right HOV
Not D.O.C, similar to the letters no one can do it better
I check cheddar like a food inspector,
My homie Strip to me dude finish yo breakfast,
So thats what I'ma do take u back to the dude with the Lexus fast forward the jewels and the necklace,
Let tell u dudes what i do to protect this,
Shoot at u actors like movie directors
(Ha-Ha This aint a movie dog)
Now before i finish let me just say i did not come here to show out, I did not come here to impress you because tell u the truth when i leave here I'm GONE and i dont care what u think about me but just remember when it hits the fan brother whether its next year, ten years, twenty years from now you'll never be able to say that these brothers lied to you JACK.
(Jay-Z)

When we finish this tour we are going to begin writing and go into the studio to hopefully have a brand new Foreigner album out in early spring next year. This will be the first Foreigner album out in about ten years.
My relationship with Music Row has always been, from my end, optimistic and hopeful that there is more than one way to approach the writing, recording, and marketing of an album.

I'm recording an album. It's sort of techno mixed with garbage - you, know, intense in-your-face music.

Back 20 years ago, I was recording with Bruce Springsteen, and his producer called me and said I had to be in the studio the next day to finish the sessions, and I couldn't. I had to be in court, in California. All this took like 10 years out of my life.

I Wish I Could Have Been There (Woodstock)
This song was first released on the whose garden was this? album. it is the only album it has been released on.
I wish i could have been there on the highway
When the people came from miles around to see
The children of the flowers come together
I wish i could have been there in the sunshine
With the sound of lovely laughter in the air
And the music makers first began to play
To hear them play
And i wish i could have been there in the rain
When the clouds were full of castles in the sky
And i wish i could have heard the people sing
As the rhytmn and the words came floating by
I wish i could have been there in the starlight
When the country side was trying once again
And the music and the makers the poets and the singers
And the children of the flowers have all gone
Words and music by john denver

I loved the last album, and it was one hundred percent me. But this is like me two years later, who understands a little bit more about music and understands a little bit more about making an album. I wrote a lot more.

We have been trying to play a lot of different kinds of music, and probably the next album will go back more towards the direction where you couldn't classify each song as a certain kind of music. This album you can.
