I'm recording an album. It's sort of techno mixed with garbage - you, know, intense in-your-face music.

Techno World
What ever happened to the good old days
neighbors talk, kids playing outside
no cable TV, no reality TV
days made of leisure and fun almost gone
the world of techno took it down
ipads, iphone, cells, video games
they have taken over our lives
no more face to face talks
the phone call go to texting
play time is video game time
where did we go wrong
I 'll take the good old days
people were more open and friendly
techno made the world more deadly
no one pays attention
all round people are looking at the techno
texting and driving going to kill someone
give me the old phones and the fence talks like
the good old days
kids playing outdoor
block partying on the street
antennas on the roofs
boom boxes for the music
everyone paying attention
techno killed the real world

My relationship with Music Row has always been, from my end, optimistic and hopeful that there is more than one way to approach the writing, recording, and marketing of an album.

I began the process of recording myself seriously in the fall of 1999. If I could finish an album of my own music, I would. Five years later I am happy to say I have.

This is an album of songs that I've always loved, tunes that I heard. For the first time in 53 years of recording, I really had control over an entire album, start to finish.

Each one of us had a little story to tell and each recording was based on that. Lou played all of the music but we both sort of kicked around some cords during the writing phase.

The thing is that I have a really intense, almost compulsive need to record. But it doesn't end there, because what I record is somehow transformed into a creative thing. There is a continuity. Recording is the beginning of a conceptual production. I am somehow collapsing the two - recording and producing - into a single event.

Never Wanna Be Without You
(performed by vanilla ice)
Love at first sight and I recite
Feelings in my heart, I hope that we will never part
You are the girl for me and I wanna see
You and me together, baby Ill leave you never
Heartfelt emotions and desires, Im on fire
Your love can take me higher
After this you know that Ill never, ever doubt you
Cause sweetheart, I never wanna be without you
Chorus
Never wanna be without you, never, no
I never wanna be
I never wanna be without you, never, no
Ooooo
I never had a love affair like this
I wanna kiss your lips, hold on tight to your hips
Press your body real close, close than most
And every glass Im gonna, to raise a toast
To our love and every moment we shared
And all the times you showed me that you cared
I love everything aout you and baby love
I never wanna be without you
Chorus
Never wanna be without you, never, no
I never wanna be
I never wanna be without you, never, no
Ooooo
Bridge
Every time I think of you I get a rush
I wanna touch you very softly, cant you tell?
Youre the one for me and you will always be
Our love will reach further than the eye can see
Cause I never...
Chorus
Never wanna be without you, never, no
I never wanna be
I never wanna be without you, never, no
Ooooo
Never wanna be without you, never, no
I never wanna be
I never wanna be without you, never, no
Ooooo

With this new album, I prepared for it a long time, and I was happy with the songs and the production. I felt that I proved myself with the first album, and with this new album, I just want to share some of my music. And that was always my feeling and my intention.

We have been trying to play a lot of different kinds of music, and probably the next album will go back more towards the direction where you couldn't classify each song as a certain kind of music. This album you can.

Intense
I remember meeting you last summer and you told me
I am intense; you stared at me, and felt my hand
And frisked my body,
Whatever was it that you meant,
I know what intense is,
Like intense loss
Loss of someone you love so much and who loves you like
You are everything
Like you are the whole world and when you are gone
The whole universe will be empty,
The great void,
Irreplaceable, intense feeling of gratitude for the love unequalled
Immeasurable, like taking grip of her hands when you are falling from
A cliff, you hang there for while, looking at the ants below
Without her timely hold you could have fallen, smashed yourself
Dead like a watermelon crashing to the pavement from
The 10th floor,
Tragic
but I see that you are intense too
Painting your life in the canvass using your weak hand
Testing how the face of God and your face beside will look
Like when the left hand is used, when you are right handed since birth,
Intense weakness
Tested
Something new, tonight I will try it with her; I have to know if she will
Love me through, these intense weaknesses within me
I will not use anything
Let us see what my uselessness can do for her.

All Mixed Up
Im all mixed up, Im all mixed up about,
All mixed up about you
And no I cant find no reason
To explain the way that I feel
I remember things being clearer
At one t ime things were more real
Im all mixed up, Im all mixed up about,
All mixed up about you
Im not lookin for sympathy
Im just frightened by this apathy
Like footsteps way in back of me
On a narrow street of stone
And if time will answer all questions
Then perhaps a film will be shown
Everyone could mail-order tickets
Yeah, you could sell a lot of shirts
For the last picture show
Im all mixed up, Im all mixed up about,
All mixed u p about you

Well, for the My Generation album, there was nothing to be nervous about in them days. We used to take every day as it came. Every day was just a gig and I think we did the recording between gigs literally.
