Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board. For some they come in with the tide. For others they sail forever on the horizon, never out of sight, never landing until the Watcher turns his eyes away in resignation, his dreams mocked to death by Time. That is the life of men.

I Seek Not Across the Sea
Across the Sea,
it is not that my love will come
Though traveling ships abroad
my Love is not there from
For elven ships
for all their glory and whiteness
blinding pure, it is not yet so
that my Love is coming to caress
my sight seeks not to find it
my eyes look not to a coming
only my might seeks all to love
where loving never sought sixteen
my love is not across the Sea
so ever gallantly seeking me
across the Sea is eternity
so there I look to all the Sea
the waves look to me to sail
would that I could, and thus sail
but eternity is forever, and thus
I have time before the Sea I sail

Sailing Ships
(coverdale/vandenberg)
Do you remember
Standing on the shore,
Head in the clouds,
Your pockets filled with dreams
Bound for glory
On the seven seas of life,
But, the ocean is deeper than it seems
The wind was with you
When you left on the morning tide,
You set your sail for an island in the sun,
On the horizon, dark clouds up ahead,
For the storm has just begun
Take me with you,
Take me far away,
Lead me to the distant shore
Sail your ship across the water,
Spread your wings across the sky
Take the time to see
Youre the one who holds the key,
Or sailing ships will pass you by
You cry for mercy,
When you think youve lost your way,
You drift alone, if all your hope is gone
So find the strength and you will see
You control, your destiny,
After all is said and done
So take me with you,
Take me far away,
An lead me to the distant shore
Sail your ship across the water,
Spread your wings across the sky
Take the time to see
Youre the one who holds the key,
Or sailing ships will pass,
Sailing ships will pass you,
Sailing ships will pass you by...
Take me with you,
Take me far away,
Well ride the wind across the sky
Spread your wings and you will see
You control, your destiny,
So sailing ships dont pass you by
So take me with you,
Take me far away,
Well ride the wind across the sky
Spread your wings and you will see
You control, your destiny,
So sailing ships dont pass,
So sailing ships dont pass you,
So sailing ships dont pass you by...
Baby, baby, baby, baby,
Youll find that youre the only one
Can sail your ship across the sky

The Watcher
Like a watcher I must listen and see.
But never intervene.
Death of the soul has come over me.
A conscience with a little less stress.
Secrets galore, one time, one place, a person is erased.
Like venom it eats at you inside.
To know and do nothing.
So powerless.
I've become the watcher.
A star collector,
A master of all and none.
What is wrong cant be undone.
With an erie sound and light.
Guidance should be forthright.
But still I hear the whispers of many clouded minds.
Dark are the times.
I've become the watcher.
Distant but so close that i can feel the auras of those who walk the path a little too fast.
An error in judgement call.
To proud to take a chance instead of the fall.
I've become the watcher and yet still I musn't make a move.
For my turns coming.
But till then I must be patient and use the indirect power suggestion.
For any act of aggression would just lead them astray.
And that will never be okay.
So I will be on the front line with my eyes and ears as a watcher.

The Pirate's Bride
Sometimes in the light at the edge of the world
Is the ghost of a ship with it's black sail furled
And night after night she would stand on the shore
And dream of the love that she knew before
The tide rolls out, the tide rolls in
Without a thought for the ways of men
We set sail for the Spanish Main
To rob the ships of the Queen of Spain
And she would be his pirate's bride
She gave him the pistol and the sword at his side
The tide rolls out, the tide rolls in
Without a care for the ways of men
I'd give three ships of Spanish gold
To see my love again
Full fathom five my true love lies
In a fine wooden casket with gold on his eyes
Where is the glory and where is the pride?
Where is the joy for the pirate's bride?
The tide rolls out, the tide rolls in
Without a care for the ways of men
Here in the light at the edge of the world
He'd wait for a ship with it's black sail furled
And day after day he would stand on the shore
And dream of the life that they knew before
The tide rolls out, the tide rolls in
Without a care for the ways of men
I'd give three ships of Spanish gold
To see my love again

Come Sail Away
Written by dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
Im sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea
Ive got to be free, free to face the life thats ahead of me
On board, Im the captain, so climb aboard
Well search for tomorrow on every shore
And Ill try, oh lord, Ill try to carry on
I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory
Some happy, some sad
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had
We live happily forever, so the story goes
But somehow we missed out on that pot of gold
But well try best that we can to carry on
A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said
They said come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
I thought that they were angels, but to my surprise
They climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies
Singing come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me

Better Than This
I'd give anything, everything
To have something better than this
Look there, do you see it
Something hidden beyond the horizon
And I'll watch it in the rain pouring down
Turn into fog, just a mystery
He looks for a glance out the window
Sees me sitting there, watching, in the rain
I'd give anything, everything
To have something better than this
I see a memory, my memory
When I said, look there
But he didn't see it, never will see it
Something's there, hidden beyond the horizon
He turns, looks out the window
Sees me kissing my dreams in the rain
Turns away quickly with a bitter smile
Thinks I should be kissing him
But I'd give anything, everything
To have something better than this
That doesn't turn his back on my dreams
And I remember crying
Crying in the rain, talking to myself
I want a life better than this
So I fix my eyes on the horizon
There's something there, beyond the horizon
I'll quietly watch it
In the rain pouring down
Turn into fog, just a mystery
Now I have just a memory of that boy
He turned away from me for always with a bitter smile
But I know I don't feel that way
Anymore
Now I have something to do with my life
Something better than that
Because I fixed my eyes
On that something, beyond the horizon
That time when I wanted something
Something better than this
And I fulfilled my dreams
And Forever
Forever is impossible to live
Forever is possible when
Death is reached but which life
Forever is no fear of
Death,
Forever is eternity no death
The only cure of old age
Forever is never possible only in death
But forever without death
Is null and void who ever new bff is so sort
The only forever, forever is a simple
Hour glass that’s your life line out of
Time you realize before your time
There no forever the sands of time tell
The truth there is only one
Forever after death heaven the sand of time
Are full and there is forever

Death Redefined
DEATH REDEFINED
esspeecee …02.10.04.
I love life
To adore death,
I buy life
To earn death.
I burn life
To illuminate death,
I spend life
To glut death.
I lend ‘life-warmth’
Thro’ cremation,
I enliven life
Thro’ termination.
Why?
Verily life is –
Nonexistent, accident,
Dream, nightmare,
Event: Crash landing.
Death is reality show
Phenomenon, wakefulnes,
Courageous, eventuality
Event: Safe landing.
Life is
A labyrinth: Like blind lane
Omnibus: One-Way-Trafficking.
Life: Unguided missile,
Death: Guided missile.
Death is:
Open avenue, esplanade
No traffic rule,
No ‘no-entry-board’
All are welcomed
No red eyed law of modernity.
Death: Kingdom of –
All fulfillments. Joys,
Frank optimisms,
Unalloyed grief,
Unblemished despair.
Ye, Death I embrace your
Magnanimous, majestic splendor.

By the Sea
In a hammock by the sea
As I lay there under a tree
The waves flow with tender ease
As the wind blows through the trees
Ocean waves a calming sound
So serene and tranquil it is found
An endless ocean it may seem
Where eyes meet the horizon, is like a dream
And along the horizon, clouds do part
As the artist sketches a perfect art
Deep blue water and the tides go by
The ships that sail and sea-gulls fly
The dolphins dance to the morning light
The flying fish just caught my sight
The divers dive to the coral reef
In search of pearls, they must keep
The mermaids dip and dance along
Under the moonlight, as they sing a song
The sight so pleasant to the eye
As they rock me to a lullaby.

Sleep
And my eyes shut tight as the eyes of dark slip away
And Ill drift through dreams till the dawn of the day
When the sun comes up and Ill be here alone
Time plays the same joke again
Where it drags out forever a longer
Always could last only seconds as shorter
Those sweet hours when youre here by my side
And all these days are never ending
All the time life grew long and bye
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right
And a voice on wire is a sad replication if best put
The phone is the only means that I have
To bridge the lonely distance back to you
Hang up and long for your touch
Which Ive missed now for weeks since aside
That being apart isnt easier with time
I can only count the seconds until I hold
And all these days are never ending
All the time life grew long and bye
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right

God's Watcher'sTime
God's Watcher's Time
something to wait is something we leave
something to remember is something we forget
something to seek is something we lose
life is waiting, remembering and seeking
death is leaving, forgetting and losing
time, time is something we wait we leave
time is something we remember we forget
time is something we seek we lose
it has you by the life and death
it is a witness for your goodness and badness
it gives you heaven but it also gives you hell
time is the answer for all unanswered questions
time is a God's watcher for us.

Life Is Eternal
(carly simon/teesa gohl)
Ive been doing a lot of thinking
About growing older and moving on
Nobody wants to be told that theyre getting on
For a long, long stay
But just how long and who knows
And how and where my spirit will go
Will it soar like jazz on a saxophone
Or evaporate on a breeze
Wont you tell me please
That life is eternal
And love is immortal
And death is only a horizon
Life is eternal
As we move into the light
And a horizon is nothing
Save the limit of our sight
Save the limit of our sight
Here on earth Im a lost soul
Ever trying to find my way back home
Maybe thats why each new star is born
Expanding heavens room
Eternity in bloom
And will I see you up in that heaven
In all its light will I know youre there
Will we say the things that we never dared
If wishing makes it so
Wont you let me know
That life is eternal
And love is immortal
And death is only a horizon
Life is eternal
As we move into the light
And a horizon is nothing
Save the limit of our sight
Save the limit of our sight

The Junk and the Dhow
"An Unqualified Pilot"
Once a pair of savages found a stranded tree.
(One-piecee stick -pidgin -- two piecee man.
Straddle-um-paddle-um-push -um off to sea.
That way Foleign Debbil-boat began.)
But before, and before, and ever so long before
Any shape of sailing-craft was known,
The Junk and Dhow had a stern and a bow,
And a mast and a sail of their own--ahoy! alone!
As they crashed across the Oceans on their own!
Once there was a pirate-ship, being blown ashore--
(Plitty soon pilum up, s'posee no can tack..
Seven-piecee stlong man pullum sta'boa'd oar.
That way bling her head alound and sail-o back.)
But before, and before, an ever so long before
Grand Commander Noah took the wheel,
The Junk and the Dhow, though they look like anyhow,
Had rudders reaching deep below their keel--ahoy! akeel!
As they laid the Eastern Seas beneath their keel!
Once there was galliot yawing in a tide.
(Too much foolee side-slip. How can stop?
Man catchee tea box lid--lasha longaside.
That way make her plenty glip and sail first-chop.)
But before and before, and ever so long before
And such contrivances were used,
The whole Confucian sea-board had standardized the lee-board.
And hauled it up or dropped it as they choosed--or chose--or
chused!
According to the weather, when they cruised!
Once there was a caravel in a beam-sea roll--
(Ca'qo shiftee--alla dliftee-no can livee long.
S'posum' nail-o boa'd acloss--makee ploper hol'?
That way ca'qo sittum still, an' ship mo' stlong.)
But before, and before, and ever so long before
Any square-rigged vessel hove in sight,
The Canton deep-sea craft carried bulkheads fore and aft,
And took good care to keep 'em water-tight-atite-atite!
From Amboyna to the Great Australian Bight!
Once there was a sailor-man singing just this way--
(Too muchee yowl-o, sickum best flend!
Singee all-same pullee lope--haul and belay!
Hully up and coilum down an'-- bite off end!)
But before, and before, and ever so long before
Any sort of chanty crossed our lips,
The Junk and the Dhow, though they look like anyhow,
Were the Mother and the Father of all Ships--ahoy!--a'ships
And of half the new inventions in our Ships!
From Tarifa to Formosa in our Ships!
From Socotra to Selankhor of the windlass and the anchor,
And the Navigators Compass in our Ships--ahoy!--our Ships!
(O, hully up and coilum down and--bite--off--end!)

Country Girl
Fell in love with a country girl, morning sunshine
She was up from a nether world, just to bust another soul
Her eyes were an endless flame, holy lightning
Desire with a special name, made to snatch your soul away, yeah
We sailed away on a crimson tide, gone forever
Left my heart on the other side, all to break it into bits
Her smile was a winter song, a sabbath ending
Dont sleep or youll find me gone, just an image in the air
In dreams I think of you
I dont know what to do with myself
Time has let me down
She brings broken dreams, fallen stars,
The endless search for where you are
(sail on, sail on)
Fell in love with a country girl, morning sunshine
She was up from a nether world, just to bust another soul
Her eyes were an endless flame, unholy lady
Desire with a special name, made to snatch your soul away, oh!
Dont sail away on a crimson tide!
Dont leave your heart on the other side!
Her eyes are an endless flame
Desire with a special name
Dont ever fall in love!
Dont give your heart away!
No never, never fall in love with a country girl!

Horizon
the sea and the sky
hold onto each other
only the horizon knows
the distance between their longings
- echoed over and over
in a restless mass of
tide cresting between
anxious heave of hope
and the tremulous sigh of anguish
second version
the sea and the sky
share one heart
only the horizon
knows the distance
between their longings
- echoed over and over
beyond a restless mass of
tide cresting between
the anxious heave of hope
and the tremulous
sigh of anguish
final version
the sea and the sky
share one heart
lip to lip in an embrace
spread out over the horizon
the distance of their longing is
echoed over and over
in a restless mass of tide
cresting between
anxious hints of hope
and the tremulous sighs
of anguish

Pluck the rose to colour the dreams
The springs of my life
Have been burnt
By the violet light of the moon
The blood turns blue in every thought
The breath turns fire in every sight
Every dropp of saliva becomes the poison for the heart.
The gust of wish shaking the hell gates
And the river dries up to death in the desert.
I don't know
How long the night is
I don't know the density of the dark
Neither have I known where the top is
Of my desires and the depth-less bottom lies
I don't have any measurement to fathom.
But I only know the spread
Of the crops up to the horizon
And the scent from the center
The drug of my heart and the desire …
The horse of my wish
Jumping over the fence across the sea
And the lazy sleep keeps
Rolling down from this side to that
And the dreams turn black and white.
But I am waiting for the summer to turn
To melt the snow
And the greens to come
Then I shall scale down the hill
And pluck the rose along with the pollen
To color my all dreams.

Popeye The Sailor Man
(kinky friedman & panama red)
My heart is on my sleeve,
Do you still believe ?
Are you listenin to the tide roll in, watchin ships at sea ?
When I come sailin home again will you be there for me,
There for me ?
Treasure ships of yore
Grace the ocean floor
Columbus sailed for italy, columbus sailed for spain.
Columbus sailed a wishin well, columbus died in chains,
Died in chains.
I dont pretend to know every answer
To everything that life may ask of me.
Hey, Im popeye the sailor man
Im popeye the sailor man
Hey, popeye the sailor man
And I sail the lonely sea eternally.
My true love calls to me from far across the sea.
She says, red skies in the mornin
Sailor take warnin
Sail with me tonight
Sailors delight, sailors delight.
I dont pretend to know every answer
To everything that life may ask of me.
Hey, Im popeye the sailor man
Popeye the sailor man,
Popeye the sailor man
And I sail the lonely sea eternally.
She said, popeye the sailor man
Popeye the sailor man
Oh, popeye the sailor man
Sail on home to me, come sail with me.

Edge Of Night
I stand alone, ashore before
The suns inevitable quench.
My eyes absorb the golden brown
Horizon melting into night.
The teasing tide touches my feet
Like a juvenile game of tag.
My hurried mind futilely fights
The suns descending final dip
That will take with it the beauty
And my reasons for being here.
The darkened clouds in the twilight
Loom like rudderless ships at sea;
And not unlike the seeming ships
I disappear into the night.

Peace Like A River
My peace is like a river
Winding slowly to the sea
My heart is deeper than the ocean
Filled with love He gave to me
Oh love that knows no ending
Rise up and set me free
I shall sail forever on this ocean
Forever, ever closer unto thee
Fill my sails oh precious Jesus
Wind of the Spirit propel me on
Over seas of tranquil beauty
To the horizon and beyond
I have sailed through stormy waters
When all my days had turned to night
I have sailed though windless days
Often tempted, tired, and no more fight
Sometimes the sun it seems to set
And we fight the rising tide
Of fear and darkness and regret
Yet thou art always by my side
So sail on my heart, to journey's end
Sail on into the night
And neither wind nor rain nor stormy seas
Shall diminish the morning light
