We need more of the Office Desk and less of the Show Window in politics. Let men in office substitute the midnight oil for the limelight.

Sheltered life:
It's cold and raining
4: 04 AM at the shelter.
From my office I can see fires lit in garbage cans,
and everyone is wearing silver 'emergency' ponchos
we have been handing out to those who won't come in,
out of the rain.
From my office window it looks like the future
and it looks like it is on fire.

You come to work because the office is a resource: The office is a place where you can meet with other people, and the office has libraries of books and information on CD-ROM that might help you with your work.
Care For The Elderly - A Conference
They gather in the Greeting Place
A smaller flock than once expected
Still elated - out from work and office
All around - the empty space
Is pressing on the keen - collected
Taking pointers - out from work and office
Inside the hall there is small trace
Of anyone to ‘stand corrected'
They're all working - inside work and office
Still curtains drift - in finest lace
The certain eyes not disaffected
Hide behind the lace of work and office
And speakers high in group embrace
Speak on and clap in unelected
Fluffy tones of every Higher Office
The higher speakers high disgrace
Is hid below their undetected
Lack of use - their waste of work and office
In keening grief - tears hid from face
A speaker - practical - affected
Brings human life within their work and office
And human thoughtfulness will base
Its Older Care on need selected
From that shown - away from work and office
Its time to fix he High and chase
By methods certain - unsuspected
Out form power - out from work and office
Foregather - follow to their base
See them - incestuous - connected
By wires unseen - inside work and office

We have to give value to authority. We have to give value to office, being in office, holding office.

Not Nearly As Painful
I remembered when I first had my virginity taken away.
It was a frightening experience.
And I was still in my mid-teens.
'You don't have to talk about it.
I can understand.
You still have 'issues' about dealing with it?
To have it happen like that is painful.'
Yeah...
My dad caught me the first time,
Sneaking out the window.
I had to convince him I was sleep walking.
And twice I fell off the ledge...
During the rain.
And landed into the bushes below my bedroom window.
Look...
I still have the scar on my arm from the second fall.
Ten stitches.
'So 'who' took your virginity? '
I forget her name.
But one night she forgot to chain her Doberman.
That's when I busted my kneecap.
I told my dad I fell out the window.
He took me to some doctor!
And guess what?
'What? '
It was the girls' father.
He had her picture on the desk in his office.
How about you?
What was yours like?
'Not nearly as painful! '

so
i am not cool
i am very hot
so thinking
my officer words at home
i did not sleep well
i did not eat well

not a healthy person
with patent

October the Post Office Cat
Some thought she was a stray
That had come for scraps along the way
That might be left from the lunch
Of the post office staff; a kindly bunch.
But others knew her for what she was,
October the Post Office Cat.
She had a duty like any employee
To be on time and serve the public daily
And as any other as all know,
Had an official position just so.
October the Post Office Cat.
As soon as the walks were swept
And the doors were opened for the daily visits,
She found her space upon the walk
A bit removed so that none would balk
As they came to do their task or mail whatever.
October the Post Office Cat.
She often times was given the duty
Of minding some child whose custodian
Had business to attend
In dealing with the letters or packages within,
So she laid there carefully in the sun
Till end of day when her work was done.
October the Post Office Cat.
She was known by all who came along that way
Parking carefully throughout the day
Making sure that she was not disturbed
As she, her duties did perform.
Watching and listening to the sounds of pleasure
That only can be bestowed on one to treasure.
Yet adults knew not how to measure.
October the Post Office Cat.
On the post across the way
A yellow sign was placed on display
By the lady who ran the insurance office
Who wanted to be sure that others notice
That this was the path taken each day
As the cat came to begin her official stay.
October the Post Office Cat.
There came a time when she did not appear
And it was certainly a time to fear
That something had befallen this special one
Who worked so hard to please everyone
And the sign was removed so that all would know
That she wouldn't be there anymore.
October the Post Office Cat.
Then mysteriously the sign reappeared
On the post for all to read
Which proclaimed that this was the crossing
Reserved for the cat that all were missing.
And it's said that she comes each day
Although never seen by adults on their way
But the children know that she is there.
October the Post Office Cat.

An office boy in London was the lowest of the low. The office boy was the tea boy. He would be the dog's body: It means someone who would do anything at all. I was quite prepared for that and enjoyed it.

I think if you have a two-story office and you hire someone who's handicapped, it might be reasonable to let him have an office on the first floor rather than the government saying you have to have a $100,000 elevator.

My plan after office is to get up and spend that entire first day helping my wife move into her new senatorial office.

Livin In The Limelight
**everybody wants to be a star
Living in the limelight
A big house and a fancy car
Living in the limelight
Everybody gonna know your name
Surely pleased to meet you
Ask you for your autograph
See your latest feature
In the middle of the middle of a dream
Living in the limelight
See yourself on the silver screen
Living in the limelight
*how you gonna keep em down on the farm
Never make em happy
How you gonna keep em close to home
Everybodys leavin, headin for hollywood
Everybody has a fantasy
Living in the limelight
A personality
Living in the limelight
Hypnotisin the roar of the crowd
Living in the limelight
Never heard of stagefright
First one back for the curtain call
Fall in love with the spotlight
On the cover of a magazine
Living in the limelight
In your limousine
Living in the limelight
Everybody gonna know your name
Living in the limelight
Say, gonna be pleased to meet you
Living in the limelight
Living in the lime, living in the limelight
Living in the limelight
They go to hollywood, be a star
Living in the limelight...

Wish For Release
Scared to return to the office to sit
in a chair that does not meet the
need for a correct sitting position
as the desk is too high for the office
chair I bought myself and the bar
stool I have is causing neck-ache
I don't know who to ask and where
to go to get my work station fixed
and raise the computer screen so
my head is not forced to hang down
and increase the pain in my neck,
I receive medication to force
my brain to ignore the pain
Will this help me to sit in the wrong
position until I am dead in my chair?
I ardently wish for release in what-
ever way if I cannot be freed from
the chair and the pain...

Debit The Window Side
In an office Government,
There was an Accountant,
On the day of his retirement,
Took part in an entertainment,
For his long spotless service,
Three decades in the same office.
High of him spoke everyone,
Praised him with no exception,
That he promptly closed his books,
This kept him high in their looks,
There being no single occasion,
To show his delayed action.
“I know less of bookkeeping,
Not as easy as housekeeping.
Perhaps that which’s not a debit,
Is what they say is a credit.
And quite likely, it’s a debit,
That which’s not a credit.”
“This much sure I knew,
From the staff there a few,
The man next to my seat,
Gave me a hint, a voucher to post,
That window side was the debit,
While its opposite was the credit”
“I never moved from the seat,
As the purpose it would defeat,
The window side, I looked,
A debit voucher, when I booked.
This way, my accounts tallied,
I was happy, not much worried, ”
His reply shocked every one,
Assembled there in the function,
As under a misapprehension,
They gave undue appreciation,
To a man free from botheration,
Till the day of his superannuation.
