Playing with words

Sometimes one gets used to words
And they are uttered without really anything to mean
Like one kind of a routine
Like you’re one kind of a boring bookworm
Office house
House office
Church on Sundays
Seldom (having sex in some
First time places)

Sometimes one goes to the toilet without
Switching on the lights or having to open one’s eyes
There is a memory
Of what comes first and comes later
Of what one need not think anymore
Something so ordinary so invisible

We forget what meaning is
We die without really knowing why
There were words then
We remember
There is no more chill
Like a red apple that you love to bite
Fresh from the ref

For The Rest Of My Life

for the rest of my life
i will take the same routine

home, office, school,
home office, school,

a straight life confined
in a certain space
too confined and too
tight for my soul
and too boring
for my body

home, office, school,
school, home, office,

you ask me if there is
something wrong with
my life? there is nothing

right in it, everything has
always been wrong
and everyday has always
been an attempt to correct
it, but nothing

nothing has fit into it
to cut the routine to
break me from the
chains of everyday

nothing comes and nothing
goes, i think, that is how
it is meant to be,

i think, i simply have
to imagine, make some
figments of stars, and moon
and sun and mountains
and seas and valleys
and castles and princesses
and kings and queens

and too they become routine
too, some poems and stories
some people that do not
actually exist, some imaginary
earth, imaginary creatures

they are all here, in this routine
of imaginations, of poetics
of illusions and allusions,
these lines, my life, these routine
and all my excuses, you and I.

Exemplary And Lavish Extravagance

Aaah, Madame La Pompadour needs time off
from the office they had built her, soundproof,
air-con, and everything she wants inside, today
she plays chauffer to the children in her neigh-
bourhood and visiting her mother in the old-age
home - she condescendingly told us - though
there is really no need why we should know
where she is, she is the free incumbent

Madame La Pompadour suffers agoraphobia
at home and claustrophobia in the office, her
problems are debilitating; she needs a bigger
office of course, with user-friendly interior
decorating - I sigh in admiration, such a very
exemplary and lavish extravagance, with the
cool presumption that a James Bond would
envy her, she does what she wants

Madame La Pompadour looks down on the
mundane civil servants - us - who man the
open-plan office, why should she earn her
salary like a slave when she gets it without
ever leaving her home?

A Scene at the Doctors Office

At the doctors office
I was scared to hear his words,
His words to me about you;
Made me lose my manhood
And I cried for you my wife,
And you where going to face
The surgeon's knife,
For you I knelt and prayed,
Hoped you came home
with a new life.

A Moaning Minnie

The old fusspot was tall and lean
but strong and rich men ran off seeing him.
Unbearable were his hurting remarks,
his wife would be a guest often to her sisters.
Every word he uttered made the hearer to shudder.
He would make a hill out of a molehill.
Women gave him more respect, or else
he would be spreading rumours against them.
His verbal assaults scared his fellow teachers.
As he would skip classes and idle in the staff-room,
all others ran off to take classes.
If anybody skived off a class, he would yell:
' You'll be receiving this day's salary as graft'.
His son was afraid of him but his daughter feared him.
When he was bed-ridden once, nobody turned up to see him;
He warned everybody by phone, saying:
' You'll also fall ill.No dog will call on you'
When an officer issued him orders of transfer,
he sat before the office with a cane full of petrol,
shouting, he would immolate against bribery in the office.
The officer cancelled the orders and sent him back.
My God! How many old gits like this one
rail at people with sparks of fire!

Care For The Elderly - A Conference

They gather in the Greeting Place
A smaller flock than once expected
Still elated - out from work and office

All around - the empty space
Is pressing on the keen - collected
Taking pointers - out from work and office

Inside the hall there is small trace
Of anyone to ‘stand corrected'
They're all working - inside work and office

Still curtains drift - in finest lace
The certain eyes not disaffected
Hide behind the lace of work and office

And speakers high in group embrace
Speak on and clap in unelected
Fluffy tones of every Higher Office

The higher speakers high disgrace
Is hid below their undetected
Lack of use - their waste of work and office

In keening grief - tears hid from face
A speaker - practical - affected
Brings human life within their work and office

And human thoughtfulness will base
Its Older Care on need selected
From that shown - away from work and office

Its time to fix he High and chase
By methods certain - unsuspected
Out form power - out from work and office

Foregather - follow to their base
See them - incestuous - connected
By wires unseen - inside work and office

Thank You!

Two little words that mean so much, a courtesy expressed...
A chance you really ought to clutch: somebody's done their best!
Two little words that show you're pleased because somebody cared!
Somebody helped thus tensions eased when love itself was shared...

Two little words can change a life, acknowledging a debt:
When calm was brought to what was strife, or joy replaced regret!
Two little words so simply said and yet what hope they bring!
They seem to dissipate our dread and cause our hearts to sing!

Two little words, just two, no more! What practice is required?
Good manners help both rich and poor and so they're quite admired!
Two little words said with a smile can bless somebody's day -
They have a certain sense of style that time can't wear away!

Two little words as sweet as wine, like nectar to the bees!
Their sentiment is just divine, they open doors like keys!
Two little words that bless the Church, the office and the home -
So close to us, no need to search, because they never roam!

Two little words that even Christ was wise enough to speak!
Lord Jesus knows they're highly prized! Indeed, they're quite unique!
Two little words God likes to hear directed to His Throne!
Of all the words to volunteer, they're the greatest ever known...

Wasted Life?

it's home
school home
then home
office
home
office

no other places
to go
no other places dared

some white sandy beaches
for sometime
a trek on a steep mountain
sometimes

visiting old folks
no questions asked
but only feeling also their
sense of
loneliness

or lostness in this vast
field of humanity

poetry
walk in the morning
poetry
noontime breaks
siesta

dinner with wife
and sleep

dawn breaks
stunning thoughts
arresting the self
on what next to do

home
home
home

a boring life maybe
but i think
it is not wasted.

My other Life

Some say I am a different man
when I leave this job for home
Different than when I’m here
in this place of glass and stone

I run the show at the office
but I am a Daddy every night
I am a Redneck on the weekends
but my baby thinks I’m all right

Those who claim to know me
all say I’m a little weird
but she sees the way I really am
when the rest of them aren’t here

Pickn at my keyboard
in place of my guitar
Stuck here in this office
instead of singing at the bar

I am a different man
when I leave this place behind
I walk away from the week
and lead my other life

I am a lot of different things
to a lot of different folks
some that really know me
and those that really don’t

I like to gather with my budds
and drink a few cold beers
Sing old songs till the crowds all gone
or until my mind is clear

I like rockn country music
and good home cooking too
I trust my old pickup truck
and respect the red white and blue

Clickn on my mouse
In place my guitar
Stuck here in this office
instead of singing at the bar

I am a different man
when I leave this place behind
I saddle up my pickup truck
and lead my other life

I’ve never quit my job
or walked out on my wife
I live just like my old man showed me
everyday of his hard life

I am a business man by day
a lover late at night
Sundays I bow my head to pray
but I am not afraid to fight

You may not recognize me
without my suit on anymore
I might be in my boots and hat
but I am just that guy next door

Pickn at my keyboard
in place of my guitar
Stuck here in this office
instead of singing at the bar

I am a different man
when I leave this place behind
I trade my tie for a cowboy hat-
and lead my other life

Sometimes I‘m sure it looks
like there’s two of me around
but when one of me is here
the other can’t be found

yea my other life

Words are a powerful tool

Words can be cruel
and they can be kind
words can touch the heart
and invade the mind.
Words can be a weapon
as sharp as any knife
they can bring despair
and ruin someone's life.
But words can bring joy
and hope and cheer
words used wisely
can wipe away fear.
Words, words, words,
created in the mind
used to be nasty
or to be kind.
So watch your words
there a mighty tool
they can make you look smart
or an insensitive fool!

October the Post Office Cat

Some thought she was a stray
That had come for scraps along the way
That might be left from the lunch
Of the post office staff; a kindly bunch.
But others knew her for what she was,
October the Post Office Cat.

She had a duty like any employee
To be on time and serve the public daily
And as any other as all know,
Had an official position just so.
October the Post Office Cat.

As soon as the walks were swept
And the doors were opened for the daily visits,
She found her space upon the walk
A bit removed so that none would balk
As they came to do their task or mail whatever.
October the Post Office Cat.

She often times was given the duty
Of minding some child whose custodian
Had business to attend
In dealing with the letters or packages within,
So she laid there carefully in the sun
Till end of day when her work was done.
October the Post Office Cat.

She was known by all who came along that way
Parking carefully throughout the day
Making sure that she was not disturbed
As she, her duties did perform.
Watching and listening to the sounds of pleasure
That only can be bestowed on one to treasure.
Yet adults knew not how to measure.
October the Post Office Cat.

On the post across the way
A yellow sign was placed on display
By the lady who ran the insurance office
Who wanted to be sure that others notice
That this was the path taken each day
As the cat came to begin her official stay.
October the Post Office Cat.

There came a time when she did not appear
And it was certainly a time to fear
That something had befallen this special one
Who worked so hard to please everyone
And the sign was removed so that all would know
That she wouldn't be there anymore.
October the Post Office Cat.

Then mysteriously the sign reappeared
On the post for all to read
Which proclaimed that this was the crossing
Reserved for the cat that all were missing.
And it's said that she comes each day
Although never seen by adults on their way
But the children know that she is there.
October the Post Office Cat.

Complicated Lifestyle.

a man's life is simple.

he has a routine, like this: house, office, house.

he gets bored, adds another place,
like house, office, park, mall, house,

waste of money, but a little interesting, he adds more

a friend's house, another house where he can be intimate with someone,
then sex, and games and romance and betrayal and use and sue and
lots of booze,

he retreats back to house, office, house,

but it is not the same again.

he sins, feels so broke, and
to a certain extent
attempts at suicide.

sad, but it can happen to you.
