Practice Every Step
Practice every step.
Do not second guess what it takes.
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
There's no sleeping for someone who has a place to go,
So...
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
Focus on that goal,
And tighten on your hold,
And...
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
Do not second guess what it takes.
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
Every journey taken,
Must be thought of as a race...
And,
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
There's no other way to straighten out a crooked road,
So...
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
No matter what you're told,
There will be some doubts and woes...
But you,
Practice every step.
Yes you,
Practice every step.
Woes you hold will eventually go,
So...
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
Practice every step.
Practice every step.

Modern Romance
Together, alone
Forever apart.
Dichotomies reign
in modern hearts.
Messages sent
By E-mail or phone
Together, apart
Forever alone.
One takes flight
The other stays home.
Forever apart
Together alone.
On a long winter’s evening
Each will practice their art.
Together, alone
Forever apart.

Meditation
When the mind is quiet and in glee,
And of scattered thoughts it is free,
Meditation can be undertaken,
And all sundry thoughts forsaken.
Meditation is an unbroken attention,
In a particular physical position,
And flow of fixed concentration,
With contemplation to a state of intuition.
Meditation brings the mind to clarity,
Whereby therein springs serenity,
All activity is reduced in meditation,
And the mind gravitates to illumination.
Meditation is a virtuous way of life,
Whereby there is control over life,
It entails regulation of the mind,
Negating all wary thoughts that bind.
With meditation, the mind is calm,
Deep peace courses, which is a balm,
Awareness of breath control induces relaxation,
Realizing our unity with Cosmos brings realization.

Sad State Of Affairs
It’s a sad state of affairs
When you start to loose your friends
No one there to show they care
You even miss them driving you round the bend
It’s a sad state of affairs
When your ego is your compadre
He whispers in your ear 'you’re right and fair
You don’t need them, pay attention to what I say'
It’s a sad state of affairs
To know your smarter then those around you
What’s the point me going to your lair?
You speak nonsense but to you it sounds true
It’s a sad state of affairs
To have nothing going on in your life
Inside you’re dying to get up off the chair
But lack of motivation is your new strife
It’s a sad state of affairs
When you can’t even pay your bills
But to be honest do you even care?
Give me alcohol, shrooms and more pills
It’s a sad state of affairs
To not remember the years growing up
Except the fights between your family and your frère
Makes you think 'I could jump into that slowing truck'
It’s a sad state of affairs
When your writing is what you confide in
Teenage angst mixed with an adults raging stare
On this mountain of life I see people climbing
It’s a sad state of affairs
When you realise you’re the one slipping and sliding

Forever Now
If we could live forever
Where would our dreams lead us to
Living in a world of ever
Changing expectation
If it could be
If it could be
It would be forever now
If we could be here forever
Where in this world would heaven be
As we race across the universe
In search of confirmation
Why cant it be
Why cant it be
Why cant it be forever now
Theres no way out
There is no return
Theres no way back
Theres no way to learn
The final act
The curtain falls
On the stage
On the stage
Standing at the crossroads
Waiting for the new millennium
For if it could be
If it could be
It would be forever now
If we could live forever
Where would our dreams lead us to
Living in a childrens world
Of simple fascination
If it could be, if it could be
It would be forever now
If it could be, if it could be
It would be forever now
For if it could be
If it could be
It would be forever now
If it could be, if it could be
It would be forever now

Who Wants To Live Forever
Words and music by brian may
Theres no time for us
Theres no place for us
What is this thing that builds our dreams yet slips away
From us
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever....?
Theres no chance for us
Its all decided for us
This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever?
Who dares to love forever?
When love must die
But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can have forever
And we can love forever
Forever is our today
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever?
Forever is our today
Who waits forever anyway?

Yoga introduced me to a style of meditation. The only meditation I would have done before would be in the writing of songs.
We tend to think of meditation in only one way. But life itself is a meditation.

A Portrait of Aspiring Perfection
A portrait of aspiring perfection hath been painted
Through the creation of evolutions tidings.
A portrait of respiring reflections lay untainted.
Leaving my thought in meditation hiding.
They cry, the muses of my soul how they cry,
Forever sighing as I am forever wishing to be whole
And in so doing I am assuming myself to be but half.

Lost In Meditation
(ooh intro)
I am lost in meditation
And my reverie
Brings you back to me
For, in my imagination
Love has lingered on
As though youd never gone
This is just a dream that can not last
When the magic of this mood has passed
So, I sit in meditation
Trying to pretend, this mood will never end
Lost in meditation
And my reverie
Brings you back to me

In the spirit of Rumi - 80 - Meditation
To the Lord, my Beloved, I said,
my Beloved: often I pray to You,
but more often, I confess,
it is to ask from You;
less often, to thank You or to praise You…
teach me, then, about meditation,
which men say to be a way
to be near You,
even beyond thanks or praise…
the Lord, my Beloved, said,
O you whom I love dearly as Myself,
whose praise and thanks are dear to Me
in ways that only I may know…
such is My nature, and is that of yours,
that only meditation may teach you meditation…
but this is all I ask of you:
that twice a day – and best,
at dawn and dusk, which are
the times I can be known to walk
in My garden of the world,
in the stillness of the morning,
in the stillness of the evening,
when My nature wakes or sleeps in peace…
that twice a day, you spend some time
saying – as if it were only once, and always once –
My name for you; your name for Me;
this will be our time of love;
this will be My test of your true love for Me:
and if at any time, your thoughts
stray away from Me, wandering in
the byways of the world –
that will not diminish My eternal love for you;
it will only mean, that you have forgotten
for the time not being, My love for you –
but if you truly love Me, then you will return
as a straying son returns,
and if you truly love Me,
you will then, know My love’s increase..
this will be our daily time together,
you and I; that is all I ask of you;
yet if, in all the other hours of the day,
I seem to you to stay
so much the nearer to you, close to you –
then that is but the mark of My love for you,
O you whom I love dearly as Myself;
so, together, let us speak each other’s name,
as lovers always shall.

Where Is The Other World?
WHERE IS THE OTHER WORLD?
Where is the other world?
What is the other world?
Is there Another World?
What do the Dead do after they die?
Is the Life in the Other World a real life?
Do we know each other as persons in the Other World?
Are we better and kinder there?
Do we love others there in a truer way?
Are we closer to God there?
Is the Other World being with God?
What can it mean to be with God?
Why when we die do we not die forever?
Is there another world?
Do we live forever in it?
Does God love us there?
Are we still the same people in the other world
That we were here?
What can it mean to live a life
In the other world?
Why should those in the other world enjoy their time and eternity there
When down here
Those who love them
Grieve for them so?
What is the Other World
And what could it mean
To be in it with all others forever,
When our world here is still going on?
Why do we live and die here?
What is the other world exactly?
Where is the other world?
Who is in it now?
