I Drove All Night

I had to escape
The city was sticky and cruel
Maybe I should have called you first
But I was dying to get to you
I was dreaming while I drove
The long straight road ahead, uh, huh
Could taste your sweet kisses
Your arms open wide
This fever for you is just burning me up inside
I drove all night to get to you
Is that alright
I drove all night
Crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep
To make love to you
Is that alright
I drove all night
What in this world
Keeps us from tearing apart
No matter where I go I hear
The beating of our one heart
I think about you
When the night is cold and dark
No one can move me
The way that you do
Nothing erases the feeling between me and you
I drove all night to get to you
Is that alright
I drove all night
Crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep
To make love to you
Is that alright
I drove all night
Could taste your sweet kisses

Parafake: The 'Word'.....[English language; 'new' word]

My wife used the "word" parafake, one evening in our bed.
Now don't get any nasty idea she was speaking of ME, in your nasty head.
In fact I don't believe either of us recall, of WHAT she was speaking,
and "parafake" isn't even a word in my dictionary. I know; I went peeking.

There is paraffin and paraformaldehyde, and parakeet of course,
but I could not find parafake; nor was there parahorse.
So I looked up "para", which turns out to be some sort of money.
Then I looked up the prefix "para- (or par-) ", with no definitions that were funny.
The prefix definitions range from "beside" and "beyond", to "incorrect",
to "a diatomic molecule" which, without super-eyes, I could NOT detect.
Well there was one definition of para-, the prefix, which I thought would fit.
"Para" can mean "assistant" (such as in paralegal) . On that definition I bit.

So then I looked up "fake" in my dictionary to try to pin down "parafake".
Guess what. There are widely varying definitions of "fake", for goodness sake!
Well I've chosen the definition of fake which is "one that is not genuine".
Therefore I say a "parafake" is an "assistant to one that is not genuine". If you don't agree, that is fine.
So a paralegal would be a parafake if her boss had no law degree, and
a vintner's assistant would be a parafake if his boss neither made NOR sold wine. You SEE?

I Just Drove By

I always go the other way
But my car drove me down today
To a little house on the older side of town
Back when things were never hard
I used to play there in that yard
And I just drove by to see if things had changed
Cokes were just a nickel then
And across the street at the five and ten
A lot of things were cheap and square and strange
And the life we had might have been
But it was one we loved believing in
And I just drove by to see if things had changed
I wondered now
If love is still the way it was back then
I need to know
That life is still a place worth living in
There it is, just like it was
A house where there was always love
I just drove by to see if things had changed
In a world thats seen its better days
Its good to know some things remain
The same, though standing still is not times way
Take to heart while in its spring
That love is just a fragile thing
I just drove by to see if things had changed

Virgil caine is the name, I served on the danville train
So much cavalry came and tore up the tracks again
In the summer of sixty-five we were hungry just barely alive

The night they drove old dixie down and the bells were ringin
The night they drove old dixie down and the people were singin
They went la na na na na na la na na na na na na na
Back home in tennessee my wife called out for me
Say virgil come quick and see there goes robert e lee
I dont mind choppin wood and I dont care if da money aint good
You take what you need and save the rest but they should never have taken the
Very best
The night they drove old dixie down and the bells were ringin
The night they drove old dixie down and the people were singin
They went la na na na na na la na na na na na na na
Like my father before me he was a workin man
Like my brother above me he took a rebels stand
He was just eighteen proud and brave when a yankee laid him in his grave
I swear by the blood beneath my feet you cant raise a caine back up when hes
In defeat
The night they drove old dixie down and the bells were ringin
The night they drove old dixie down and the people were singin
They went la na na na na na la na na na na na na na

Confined Within Walls Too Thick To Chip

Their own beliefs drove them insane.
With accusations and denials kept,
Speeding the process.
Blaming others for their hold on stubbornness,
Has left them confined within walls too thick to chip...
Away.
And too high to climb over,
To excape from the madness they have created.

Their own beliefs drove them insane.
And today they rush to have everyone pay,
A price to endure further sacrificing...
With devices used,
To excuse as if 'okay' to have had things done their way...
Has been done too many times for those not to notice,
The minds behind it all.
Their own beliefs drove them insane to keep for themselves,
Alone!

I Drove

No back seat rider.
Cruising to view a life...
And selecting scenes,
Preferred and/or liked.
I drove.
Cautious.
Even though a few accidents,
Caused me to pay more attention.
Although that was meant.
I ran out of gas.
And stumbled when I pushed to fast.
But I finally found my path identified.
I felt at home!
I knew I had arrived.
I'm glad I took it upon myself...
To learn to drive.
Although my preference is to walk.
Observe.
Touch and enjoy life.
If I had cruised through it...
I would not have known,
How much of it I would have missed.
I drove with hope.
And faith kept me blessed,
To see my life from the driver's seat.
I drove over hills and through darkened valleys.
And there awakened to touch the sky at sunrise.
I drove at midnight.
And the stars would keep my dreams alive.
As obstacles kept my drive alive through thunder.
I drove...
Until I knew and felt the Sun,
Would come to chase rain clouds of storms away!
Although my preference is to walk.
And I do.
If I choose...
Today!

Lagos Island [Two Girls]

One day on Lagos Island
I drove passed
two girls on the
coastland.
As they freeze
From the heat of
The cold winter.
They beckoned
On me as I drove
past in speed on
the bridge
of their local mainland.
I freeze;
Parked and
Comes out to see
What it could be;
Then two girls
I see;
Staring intensely
At me,
They said: you see,
Are you really free?
I asked: why do
you ask me?
I've been driving
By the sea;
And you see
It takes time
To come out this
Bridge.
And my kids;
They're waiting
for me.
Well, you see;
They proceed
To say what they
Mean:
We have come a long
way by the sea,
It's so cold out
There
on the bridge;
The flood drove
us out with natural
Authority,
Could you take
Us in as a refugee?

(It's Hard) Letting You Go

It ain't no fun lying down to sleep
And there ain't no secrets left for me to keep
I wish the stars up in the sky would all just call in sick
And the clouds would take the moon out on some one-way trip

I drove all night down streets that wouldn't bend
But somehow they drove me back here once again
To the place I lost at love

Wait Till You Die Feb 26th,2011

We have to wait to die because there is no other way,
At least there is no death with dignity advertised on display
And assisted suicide here in Canada is illegal,
Your doctor could end up needing more than a paralegal.

And this is a nasty subject that nice people try to avoid,
The religious and the holy folk might even be annoyed.
You will go to heaven or hell after you die they all say,
Their religious rules say that they are right as they often pray.

I’ll admit, it’s not a nice subject but we’re all going to get there,
And the experience of death and dying, no one is aware,
We could get death with dignity if referendums like the Swiss,
I can almost hear it now as politicians and priests all hiss.

Crystal

Written by stevie nicks.
Do you always trust your first initial feeling
Special knowledge holds true, bears believing
I turned around and the water was closing all around like a glove
Like the love that finally found me
Then I knew in the crystaline knowledge of you
Drove me through the mountains
Through the crystal like and clear water fountain
Drove me like a magnet
To the sea
To the sea
How the faces of love have changed turning the pages
And I have changed, oh, but you, you remain ageless
Like the love that finally found me
Then I knew in the crystaline knowledge of you
Drove me through the mountains
Through the crystal like and clear water fountain
Drove me like a magnet
To the sea
To the sea

Sad Poem 3a (Continuance)

As I drove back from today
from the town I go to
tears trickled from my eyes as I drove.
They were not tears of sorrow,
but tears of relief and joy.
I saw the friend I had been trying to get hold of,
his story is in my Sad Poem 3.
He is still not himself,
which is quite understandable.
However, talking to him
solved a number of mysteries
that had been playing on my mind.

Death With Dignity Please Sept 21st,2012

Death with dignity please Sept 21st,2012

By
James Bredin

I'm going to die but I don't know when, where, how or why,
And you are too; so we should all prepare to say goodbye,
Therefore it would be nice to arrange this whole dying affair,
Have legal death with dignity though some don't seem to care.

Some religious types and politicians are totally opposed,
Though it's a freedom of choice thing and not government imposed,
I realize of course that this in itself is not a nice subject,
And neither is dying but we can't avoid it or reject.

Nowadays it's a subject hidden in the background somewhere,
Seldom mentioned in our papers so we can't compare in despair,
Some people have gone to Switzerland where it's allowed and legal,
Where they don't need five lawyers to die and a paralegal.

Met A Girl

Met a girl, oh so fine. She was always looking for a good time. Drove me out of my mind. The way it is. Its hard to say. But i cant forgive. Three strikes your out. I care too much to let you do it around me. Don't you see. I just cant deal with it. Presumptuous is to think, i ll get u tanked so you can use your body the way you want too. Met a girl, oh so fine. She was always looking for a good time. Drove me out of mined. Distanced by her self destructiveness. They say again and again ignorance is truly bliss. Well in this case it is. They say live and let live. Just stay away and that's okay. With indifference as my knife i stab you with heart ache and heart break. The tears fall and theirs no way i can catch em all. Met a girl, oh so fine. She was always looking for a good time. Drove me out my mined. It feels like dying over and over again just beneath the skin. Is their really a god or heaven. Sick is my stomach, a constant churning. A need to help. My heart beats, as the blood pours. Oh wounds so sore. I want so much more. Then some are willing to give. I will not relive the same thing ever again. This is one of those times i cant win. Full blown, retreat. The pain is too much. The love is too much. Enough is enough. Met a girl, oh so fine. She was always looking for a good time. Drove me out my mind. But that all ended that night. I said what others whispered. I was honest and i know it had hurt. It hurt me much worse. Its a curse, i have no fear. Espically when it comes to someone i hold so dear. I rather just disappear then have you near. Too much, its going get rough, too much, it's just too, too much

To be known I had to do this

I commited suicide.
Because i had nothing to live for.
My life had become a mess.
Suicide was the only option I had.
To be known I did ever exist.

But one thing is for sure.
I'll come back and huant you.
You bastards that raped me.
I will get you back.
Only you can't do a thing.
To get to me you'll need a medium.
So now at last I have the upper hand.

Maybe now justice will be done.
Only I hope you can live with yourselfs.
Becuase the rape and abuse.
Drove me to this.
It drove me to my suicide.

Her Worst Nightmare

she left the one
who has her heart
for the one she thought
could give her a fresh start

he called everyday
even when she went away
then the first pin dropped
the game hadn't stopped

she overlooked it
as a mistake
little did she know
he was just a fake

he claimed to need her
he claimed to give his heart
but when she learnt the truth
it tore her apart

it drove her crazy
to think he could lie
and treat her like nothing
it made her cry

each discovery
worst than the last
she regretted
giving up her past

she decided
to move on
from this relationship
she was gone

she told him so
but he would accept
over and over
he'd just reject

he drove her crazy
he wouldn't let her be
day and night
he called putting up a fight

finally she cracked
and let him have it
threats and curses
only helped a bit

a day or two
is all she got
then he started
again to stir her pot

pretending not to notice
was all she could do
nothing helped
she needed a clue

over and over
it happened again
as soon as she forgot him
it drove her insane

she now had a stalker
she now felt cornered
she needed to get rid of him
she wanted to look forward
