People keep telling us, that they didn't know when they were booking tickets for it, but afterwards they say that they've had no sense that they were watching an old fashioned play.

I Can Play (Lyrics) :
He didn't give himself up to fear.
And his voice had a life of its own.
He didn't give himself up for broke.
Just a man who played his guitar.
He said 'I can play the guitar', 'I can play it clear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'.
'I can play the songs that you want to hear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play it clear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'.
'I can play the songs that you want to hear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'.
He didn't give himself up to drinking beer.
His voice still had a life of its own.
And he didn't give himself up for smoke.
Just a man who played his guitar.
He said 'I can play the guitar'.'I can play it clear'.
He didn't give himself up to curcumstance.
Always tried to make it alone.
He didn't give himself up to telling lies.
His honesty was already shown.
Always kept himself up to par.
Just a man who played his guitar.
He said 'I can play the guitar'.'I can play it clear'.
'I can play the guitar'.'I can play'...

Once I was checking to hotel and a couple saw my ring with Blues on it. They said, 'You play blues. That music is so sad.' I gave them tickets to the show, and they came up afterwards and said, 'You didn't play one sad song.'
I don't need somebody behind a desk to tell me what a marketing survey says is funny. I got 3 million miles and 70,000 tickets sold, telling me that I know how to make people laugh.

Watching Me Watching You
I sit by the cutting on the beaconsfield line.
Hes watching me watching the trains go by.
And they move so fast --- boy, they really fly.
Hes still watching me watching you watching the
Trains go by.
And the way he stares --- feel like locking my door
And pulling my phone from the wall.
His eyes, like lights from a laser, burn
Making my hair stand --- making the goose-bumps crawl.
Hes watching me watching you watching him
Watching me
Im watching you watching him watching me
Watching stares.
At the cocktail party with a bucks fizz in my hand
I feel him watching me watching the girls go by.
And they move so smooth without even trying.
Hes still watching me watching you watching the
Trains go by.
And the crowd thins and he moves up close but he doesnt speak.
I have to look the other way.
But curiosity gets the better part of me and I peek:
Got two drinks in his hand --- see his lips move ---
What the hells he trying to say.
Hes watching me watching you watching him
Watching me.
Im watching you watching him watching me
Watching stares.
Hes watching me watching you watching him
Watching me.
Hes watching me watching you watching
The trains go by.
Hes watching me watching you watching him
Watching me.
Hes watching me watching you watching him watching me.
Hes watching me watching you watching him watching me watching him watching.

Why do people play with blood ?
Why do people play with blood when it gives no pleasure and only pain?
Why do people wag a war when it gives only losses and no gain?
Why do people play with mud when it never tones up but tarnishes their images?
Why do people play the blame -game when it never solves the problem but increases?
Why do people hit the greats when it gives them less fame and more blasphemy?
Why do people create controversy when it gives less positive and more negative publicity?
Why do people lie when do they know in it there is only ugliness and no beauty?
Why do people do jealousy when they do know that it shows their own bankruptcy?
Why do people lick the legs of power when it shows their weakness- the sycophancy?
Why do people do hypocrisy when they do know that they are telling lies?
Why do people heed to the greed when they do know the sweetness of life dies?
Why do people fall in lecherous lust when they do know it eats their own flesh?
Why do people play tricks when they do know that it shows only their foolishness?
Why do people do corruption when they do know it is the selling of their souls?
Why do people do nepotism when they do know it is the quality of them which falls?
Why do people love more self than any one else when they do know it is a disease - narcissism?
Why do people hate people when they do know it is the murder of humanism?

Rub Offs
People buy those rub off tickets.
I see 'em on the ground.
I don't buy those rub off tickets
but there was one I found.
I rubbed it off and won ten bucks
so I went and bought two more
and when I rubbed them off again
I went back in the store.
The lady said, 'You've won big money
What are you gonna do? '
I said to her 'What's big money'
She answered '10 thousand for you.'
So I bought ten thousand tickets
and rubbed 'em off all day.
And not even one was a winner
so I went on my way.
Money comes and money goes.
That's how it is for me.
So if I find another ticket
I'll give it away for free.

Your Outsourcing Abilities
Calm down!
What is the matter with you?
You look exasperated.
Irritated AND annoyed.
What happened?
'I arrived home.
And everything was gone.
All of my food.
Icecream and my favorite cookies.'
Gee.
Really?
I saw your buddies doing that.
But...
I didn't think anything about it.
'You witnessed it?
And didn't say a thing about it to them? '
Why should I?
Those are your friends.
Your allies.
And besides on my last visit to your home,
You declared you would do absolutely anything...
To get your hands on season tickets.
Do you remember this?
'Well...
Yes.'
Do you remember telling your 'friends',
Whatever they wanted from you...
They didn't even have to ask.
And whatever it was had been up for grabs?
And all they had to do was to take it from you?
'Well...?
Sorta...kinda.
Why didn't you stop me?
You could have said something.'
I did.
I called you a fool.
And then what did you say,
As your friends looked at both me and you?
'I said...
If anyone knew anything about outsourcing.
It was 'me' and not you who should be calling 'you' names.'
Exactly.
And you are right.
Apparently calling you a fool,
Was not enough.
Especially when you issued each one of your 'buddies',
A set of your house keys...
To come and go as they please.
'But I didn't think they would do anything like this to me.'
Well...
You did show 'your' outsourcing abilities,
At the expense of feeding yourself.
And I hope you are not here,
To accuse or blame me for your activities?
You and your friends do that 'feast or famine' thing together.
Do not involve me.
I am going to sleep, eat and live my life quietly in peace.
Would you like a sandwich?

JUMPING JACK FLASHED...by talile ali
HIT BETWEEN THE EYES
WITH AN IMAGE NEVER SHARED
BY THE ONE HE LOOKED UPON
IF IT WERE THEY WOULD BOTH BE IN BED
BUT IT WAS ALL ONE SIDED
AND THE PROBLEMS THERE WERE PLENTY
THE WOMAN BEGAN BY TRYING TO CONVINCE HIM
THAT HE WASN'T GETTING ANY
WITH FLAT DRY LIPPED KISSES
AND TELLS OF WOE AND HELL
THE MAN COULD SEE ALL TO WELL
THAT HE WAS RINGING THIS BELL
HE NEVER COULD UNDERSTAND
ALL THE RULES AND ALL THE GAMES
WHY DIDN'T PEOPLE SAY WHAT THEY MEANT
INSTEAD OF BEING WORDS BLOWN ABOUT TO BLAME
AND SHAME
BUT SO IT WAS FOR THESE TWO
THE HARLEQUIN AND THE FOOL
AND INTO FELL A ANOTHER POOR SOUL
WHO JUST WAS TOO HIGH TO KNOW WHAT TO DO
SHE BECAME INTOXICATED AND ENAMORED
AND EVENTUALLY LOST HER SOUL
WANTING TO BE THE DESIRE OF THE FELLA
SHE LEFT BOTH HER HEART AND MIND EXPOSED
SHE TOLD HIM OF HER FAILED MARRIAGE
AND HOW THINGS QUEERED IN JAPAN
AND HOW HER HUBBY LEFT HER
AND ONLY CAME BACK BECAUSE HE CAN
I LOOKED AT HE IN WONDER
SHE DIDN'T MAKE MUCH SENSE
SHE WOULD REMARRY THIS DUMB BASTARD
SO SHE AND THE KIDS COULD GET HIS BENEFITS
THE I SUDDENLY SAW MY BEST FRIEND
TWENTY YEARS LATER, AND WOE
SHE WOULD BE CHASING AROUND OLD FARTS LIKE ME
AND TELLING THEM HER TELLS, OH NO!
THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN
TO FOLK WHO DON'T LOVE TOO WELL
THEY END UP MARRIED TO MONEY
AND HAVING TO CREEP FOR TAIL.
AND MAYBE SO LONG AS THEY KNOW IT
IT AIN'T AS BAD AS IT SEEMS
CAUSE IF NEITHER OF THEM REALLY LIKED IT
WOULDN'T ONE OR THE OTHER LEAVE THE SCENE?
SO WATCHING ALL OF THIS DRAMA
WAS LIKE WATCHING JUMPING JACK FLASHED
I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW SO MANY PEOPLE
SO CHOSE TO NOT LIVE THEIR OWN LIFES
I AIN'T SAYING CHASING AROUND THE YOUNG
WHILE YOU ARE MARRIED TO SOMEONE YOU HATE
IS WRONG
I AM SAYING THAT WHY DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
THATS ALL.
WHY DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
BUT THIS WORLD IS SO DECEPTIVE AND DISHONEST
THAT THE WICKED AND DECEITFUL GET THE GOODS
MAKES IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THERE WILL EVER BE
ANY BENEFIT FOR DOING ANY GOOD

I'm Old Fashioned
I am not such a clever one
About the latest fads
I admit I was never one
Adored by local lads
Not that I ever try to be a saint
I'm the type that they classify as quaint
Im old fashioned
I love the moonlight
I love the old fashioned things
The sound of rain
Upon a window pane
The starry song that april sings
This years fancies
Are passing fancies
But sighing sighs holding hands
These my heart understands
I know I'm old fashioned
But I don't mind it
That's how I want to be
As long as you agree
To stay old fashioned with me
(bridge)
I'm old fashioned
But I don't mind it
That's how I want to be
As long as you agree
To stay old fashioned with me
Oh won't you stay old fashioned with me
Oh please stay old fashioned with me

Let's take the boat out on the bay
Forget your job for just one day
I wish it didn't have to be so bad
It might be innapropriate because
Either way our band get dropped
I wish it didn't have to be so bad
But I'd play with fire to break the ice
And I'd play with a nuclear device
Is it something I'll regret?
Why do I wan't what I can't get?
I wish it didn't have to be so bad
The three-date theory is getting old
Everyone is getting left out in the cold
I wish it didn't have to be so bad
So I'll see you with another guy
Who pretends not to hear you when you cry
I wish it didn't have to be so bad
But I'd play with fire to break the ice
And I'd play with a nuclear device
Is it something I'll regret?
Why do I want what I can't get?
I wish it didn't have to be so bad
I'll be moving on

Private Eyes
Lyrics & music: daryl hall, warren pash, sara allen, janna allen
I see you, you see me
Watch you blowin the lines when youre making a scene
Oh girl, youve got to know
What my head overlooks
The senses will show to my heart
When its watching for lies
You cant escape my
Private eyes
Theyre watching you
They see your every move
Private eyes
Theyre watching you
Private eyes
Theyre watching you watching you watching you watching you
You play with words you play with love
You can twist it around baby that aint enough
Cause girl Im gonna know
If youre letting me in or letting me go
Dont lie when youre hurting inside
cause you cant escape my
Private eyes
Theyre watching you
They see your every move
Private eyes
Theyre watching you
Private eyes
Theyre watching you watching you watching you watching you
Why you try to put up a front for me
Im a spy but on your side you see
Slip on, into any disguise
Ill still know you
Look into my private eyes

Torture remains
i cried myself to sleep,
3 hours later,
i still can't think of nothing else,
the torture you did to me,
you made me bow down to you,
you made me do what i didn't want to do,
i was scared of you,
a child who wanted to be loved,
becames a sexual toy instead,
what makes it worse,
you wasn't even family,
everybody had there doubts,
but you made them believe,
that you were some kind of saint,
made me feel like i don't belong,
i still feel that way until this day,
in my heart i know i'm better than just sex,
but in my mind i believe its all i'm good for,
do you know how hard it is,
to live in a world that you feel,
could of been better?
i will never get back what i lost to you,
a sense of pride was lost,
a sense of joy to use my body,
the way it was surpose to be use for love,
i feel it as being wrong,
the people i have feelings for,
just can't understand why,
i'm left with telling,
and them leaving me,
or keeping to myself,
having them think i'm just a tease,
and move on,
either way,
i guess i don't have much to lose,
it either,
let somebody i think i have a future with in,
and let them make the choice to stay by my side,
or let them move onto a girl with less problems,
but i hate not having that control,
and when i look at it,
i don't really have as much control as i think,
i just can't go through another rejection from a guy,
because of my past,
it's not even right,
to have to loose something important to you,
all because it was something you didn't ask for,
in the first place.

Play On Love
Now when you open your mouth, what comes out
Whats the first word, whats the first line?
When you open your mouth and love comes out
Then you know, you just sang the clear line
Ive heard people say it a thousand times
In a thousand different ways
Ive heard people play it a thousand times
And they know, they know thats the only way
To play.
You got to
Play on love
Play on love
Play on love
Play on love.
Now are you talking about what it is you know
Or just repeating what it was you heard
Someone told you just exactly what to say
And you know, you know thats only one set
Of words
You got to play on love.
Ive heard people say it a thousand times
In a thousand different ways
Ive heard people play it a thousand times
And they know thats the only way to play
You been a reading it without living it
Now thats the golden prison we can always find
Living in stories and living in books or
We can live and leave all the stories behind.
Its up to you and its up to me
Come down yelling timber through the
Burning trees
Whos been telling you about perfection
And how did he get in here, thats the question.
He mustve
Played on love
Played on love
Played on love
Played on love.
Ive heard people say it a thousand times....
You got to
Play on love
Play on love
Play on love
Play on love.
Reading it without living it...
You got to
Play on love
Play on love
Play on love
Play on love.

Civility
on the surface of
it is this casualness of
two people meeting by accident
like two boats merely
passing each other by
leaving some foams of waves
leaving this disturbance
that lasts for only a while
and then ti subsides and then
you remember nothing
except that feeling that
keeps on telling you: it should
have been that way, it should
have been, but you didn't
dare and you didn't last.
