The face and shyness

A graceful face is enough
To attract a man of repute.
Revealing posture will retract.

A woman must retain enough sigh
To draw in a man of repute.
Liberality will retract.

The Fatal Disease

He got a blow as his wife developed cancer,
And went knee-less, tearless and sleepless.
His life hangs. Her desire to help her son
Bring up his two daughters and son, hangs.

She Hangs Out

How old dyou say your sister was? (sister was, sister was)
How old dyou say your sister was? (sister was, sister was)
You know youd better keep an eye on her (eye on her, eye on her)
Do the ronde ronde ronde do the rond rond
She hangs out
She hangs out
I heard you taught your sister the bugaloo (bugaloo, bugaloo)
I heard you taught your sister the shigaling too
(shigaling
Too, shigaling too)
Well, she can teach you a thing or two (a thing or two, thing or two)
Do the ronde ronde ronde do the rond rond
She hangs out
She hangs out
Well, she hangs out, hangs out
Every night, every night
You know you best get down here on the double
Before she gets her pretty little self in trouble
Shes...so fine...so fine
I say, how old dyou say your sister was? (sister was, sister was)
How old dyou say your sister was? (sister was, sister was)
You know youd better keep an eye on her (eye on her, eye on her)
Do the ronde ronde ronde do the rond rond
She hangs out
She hangs out
Shes very, very, very, very, very fine
And shes gonna be mine, so fine
She hangs out
She hangs out

Another for Hanque

A poem is joined to everything,
hangs by a thought;

a poet is joined to everything,
hangs by a word;

wisdom’s joined to everything;
hang lightly, golden heart.

Frosty on His Flag (Clementine Sweet)

frosty is lonely
he hangs from a winter blue flag by a pink-roofed house
being blown by a salt-sea breeze

he has no snow people to talk to
he ripples his cloth edges among the sky-high palm trees and
above the candy-green grass

frosty is an outcast
to contrast the deep blue of his flag lies the pale desert sky,
shot through with bright Cali sunshine

frosty is a picture of out-of-placement:
he hangs and he hangs
he sighs and he sighs
all the while homesick
all the while thinking
that sometimes, sometimes
irony is clementine sweet

Flagging

The flag hangs limply now,
its better days blowing behind it,
it's colours fading.

I remember when its vibrancy
shone like the sunshine
as it billowed softly.

The flag hangs limply now,
behind me, just like my dreams
and I cannot touch tomorrow.

A Baby Asleep after Pain

As a drenched, drowned bee
Hangs numb and heavy from a bending flower,
So clings to me
My baby, her brown hair brushed with wet tears
And laid against her cheek;
Her soft white legs hanging heavily over my arm
Swinging heavily to my movements as I walk.
My sleeping baby hangs upon my life,
Like a burden she hangs on me.
She has always seemed so light,
But now she is wet with tears and numb with pain
Even her floating hair sinks heavily,
Reaching downwards;
As the wings of a drenched, drowned bee
Are a heaviness, and a weariness.

Bangs

Bangs
Above your eyes your hair hangs
Blow my mind your royal flyness I dig your bangs
Bangs
To drape across your forehead
To swing concordant angles as you incline your head
Once with a girl I fell in love sometime ago now she had...
Bangs
Are that on which the world hangs
Im only holding your hand so I can look at your bangs
Bangs
Are like a pocket t-shirt
As casual as that while fully intentional
And in case you think Im here cause I like making chit chat
Just remember what I said the moneys under your hat
Bangs
Are that on which the world hangs
Im only holding your hand so I can look at your bangs
Bangs
Above your eyes your hair hangs
Blow my mind your royal flyness I dig your bangs
Bangs
To drape across your forehead
To swing concordant angles as you incline your head
And although I like you anyway, check out your haircut
A proscenium to stage a face that needs no makeup
Bangs
Are that on which the world hangs
Im only holding your hand so I can look at your bangs
Im only holding your hand so I can look at your bangs

Rudyard Kipling

Road Song of the Bandar-Log

Here we go in a flung festoon,
Half-way up to the jealous moon!
Don't you envy our pranceful bands?
Don't you wish you had extra hands?
Would n't you like if your tails were -- so --
Curved in the shape of a Cupid's bow?
Now you're angry, but -- never mind,
Brother, thy tail hangs down behind!

Here we sit in a branchy row,
Thinking of beautiful things we know;
Dreaming of deeds that we mean to do,
All complete, in a minute or two --
Something noble and grand and good,
Won by merely wishing we could.
Now we're going to -- never mind,
Brother, thy tail hangs down behind!

All the talk we ever have heard
Uttered by bat or beast or bird --
Hide or fin or scale or feather --
Jabber it quickly and all together!
Excellent! Wonderful! Once again!
Now we are talking just like men.
Let 's pretend we are... never mind,
Brother, thy tail hangs down behind!
This is the way of the Monkey-kind.
