Opportunity
Opportunity, it is said,
knocks but once.
Opportunity, sometimes
knocks a few times.
The gospel truth is,
Opportunity's frequency is erratic.
Opportunity is a windfall,
in true truth a one-off affair.
This explicitly explains why
To the wise the plausible option,
is to grab the first opportunity.
Striking when iron is hot
Sparing oneself the guilt
Of not grasping an opportunity,
When it itself, presents.
Opportunity to the fool,
knocks when requested.
It is there to be clasped,
when really required.
No doubt missed opportunity,
is the facet of a fool.
Be wise, act rationally
Be guided by the reasoning
The time- tested saying
‘opportunity, knocks but once'.

To Knock on a Door
Who
Who
Who knocks?
Who knocks at
Who knocks at my door?
Who knocks at my door - not chamber
Who knocks at my door - not chamber door, but door. Who knocks?
Who knocks at my door - not chamber door, but door. Who knocks? Is it a raven - a raven
Who knocks at my door - not chamber door, but door. Who knocks? Is it a raven - a raven named Nevermore that knocks, knocks at my non-chamber door?
Who knocks at my door - not chamber door, but door. Who knocks? Is it a raven - a raven named Nevermore that knocks, knocks at my non-chamber door? ... No, it's just my brother, Josh, that knocks, knocks at my non-chamber door:
It's time for dinner.

Opportunity never knocks twice at any man's door.

Opportunity knocks for every man, but you have to give a woman a ring.
Opportunity knocks, but doesn't always answer to its name.

Coroner's daughter writes me a poem
'Opportunity seldom knocks twice
And it's written on an old building's door
But I am scared to open
As it's an abandon mortuary.'

Those Dance Moves
When I see you pull
those dance moves
it knocks me out
When the music
is screamin'
it knocks me out
You know I gotta smile
It makes me so happy
It makes me so happy
it knocks me out
I can't see anyone else
when those
dance moves
knocks me out

If you want to be an actor, you should just get out there and do it. I don't go for the approach of first getting photos and an agent. I think you should start with the work, and the other stuff will follow. As with opportunity knocks, you have to be ready.

The House From Hell
The house from hell is the home in which I do dwell.
And of this story I should most certainly tell.
Extension cords running from one end to the other.
And not just one, two, but three.
Such insanity of it too much on one breaker.
A fire waiting to happen.
I didn't wire the place.
The wiring is just so brittle, that when an outlet goes its about impossible to fix.
It all needs to be replaced.
Along with the plumbing and floors.
How bout some new doors and a set of stairs for the porch.
Free is not necessarily free.
Yes this was given to me.
But now I'm rethinking if I should of took it.
At least in the middle of winter.
I'll soon have the money.
But will it be soon enough.
I had no choice in waiting and debating.
Neither the place I was staying nor previous owners here would allow me that privilege.
But hopefully I still will prevail.
Another hit to the stomach just knocks a little more wind out of your sails.
It will take longer then I want.
But still I will go for it.
When an opportunity knocks you can not just deny it.

Golden Opportunity
(ian hunter)
The kids are ok
Theyre telling you now
But youre letting them down
Cause you just dont know how
And its a golden opportunity
Im spinning in space
Im laughing away
Your so pathetic
I can just hear them say
Its like a golden opportunity
You better hear it
See hear it
Its a golden opportunity
You better hear it
Get near it
Its a golden opportunity
We reckon theyre rats
Now see how they run
My house is so common
And were dumb were so dumb
And its a golden opportunity
Scream all you suckers
Scream all you can
Im losing my bluff
Its a scam its a scam
And its a golden opportunity
You better hear it
You better hear it hear it
Its like a golden opportunity
You better hear it
You better hear it hear it
Its like a golden opportunity
Alright!
You better hear it hear it
Hear it hear it
Its a golden opportunity
Hear it
Hear it
Its a golden opportunity
You better hear it
You better hear it
Its a golden opportunity
You better hear it
You better hear it
Its a golden opportunity

Old Man Rain
Old Man Rain at the windowpane
Knocks and fumbles and knocks again:
His long-nailed fingers slip and strain:
Old Man Rain at the windowpane
Knocks all night but knocks in vain.
Old Man Rain.
Old Man Rain at the windowpane
Reels and shambles along the lane:
His old gray whiskers drip and drain:
Old Man Rain with fuddled brain
Reels and staggers like one insane.
Old Man Rain.
Old Man Rain is back again,
With old Mis' Wind at the windowpane,
Dancing there with her tattered train:
Her old shawl flaps as she whirls again
In the wildman dance and is torn in twain.
Old Mis' Wind and Old Man Rain.

The Songs of Summer
The songs of summer are over and past!
The swallow's forsaken the dripping eaves;
Ruined and black 'mid the sodden leaves
The nests are rudely swung in the blast:
And ever the wind like a soul in pain
Knocks and knocks at the window-pane.
The songs of summer are over and past!
Woe's me for a music sweeter than theirs--
The quick, light bound of a step on the stairs,
The greeting of lovers too sweet to last:
And ever the wind like a soul in pain
Knocks and knocks at the window-pane.

who knocks and knocks but never lets in
I don't know if the dawn will find his home
the beam to write a message upon his door

Opportunity Nox
Well, I like you, I couldnt think of anything but you
For a week I was in love with your hairdo
I couldnt chew those muffins I used to
I knew I was way over the moon
When I met you, when I met you, I didnt know what to do.
When I saw you, when I saw you you said:
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im living in a box but Im out when opportunity nox...
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im living in a box but Im out when opportunity nox...
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im dying in a box but Im out when opportunity rox on
Im sleeping and Im dreaming so solo
I saw you in the crowd in the front row
You couldnt get it right in the disco
Youre dancing so much better in slo-mo
When I met you, when I met you, I didnt know what to do.
When I saw you, yeah, when I saw you, I said:
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im living in a box but Im out when opportunity nox...
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im living in a box but Im out when opportunity nox...
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im dying in a box but Im out when opportunity rox on

Too often, the opportunity knocks, but by the time you push back the chain, push back the bolt, unhook the two locks and shut off the burglar alarm, it's too late.

Forgotten
early dawn
five of you arrive
bringing
gifts
wrapped, closed
i did not open them
you left
and then the gifts are gone
i want to remember
them again
but it is a waste of time
opportunity
knocks only once
i am getting older
and what i always remember
is regret.
