The night has left the stranger in the heart
who knocks and knocks but never lets in
I don't know if the dawn will find his home
the beam to write a message upon his door
'please come in or come no more'

It's time for dinner.

Those Dance Moves
When I see you pull
those dance moves
it knocks me out
When the music
is screamin'
it knocks me out
You know I gotta smile
It makes me so happy
It makes me so happy
it knocks me out
I can't see anyone else
when those
dance moves
knocks me out

He knocks boldly at the door who brings a welcome message.
Opportunity
Opportunity, it is said,
knocks but once.
Opportunity, sometimes
knocks a few times.
The gospel truth is,
Opportunity's frequency is erratic.
Opportunity is a windfall,
in true truth a one-off affair.
This explicitly explains why
To the wise the plausible option,
is to grab the first opportunity.
Striking when iron is hot
Sparing oneself the guilt
Of not grasping an opportunity,
When it itself, presents.
Opportunity to the fool,
knocks when requested.
It is there to be clasped,
when really required.
No doubt missed opportunity,
is the facet of a fool.
Be wise, act rationally
Be guided by the reasoning
The time- tested saying
‘opportunity, knocks but once'.

Knocks Me Off My Feet
I see us in the park
Strolling the summer days of imaginings in my head
And words from our hearts
Told only to the wind felt even without being said
I dont want to bore you with my trouble
But theres sumptin bout your love
That makes me weak and
Knocks me off my feet
Theres supmtin bout your love
That makes me weak and
Knocks me off my feet
Knocks me off my feet
I dont want to bore you with it
Oh but I love you, I love you, I love you
I dont want to bore you with it
Oh but I love you, I love you, I love you
More and more
We lay beneath the stars
Under a lovers tree thats seen through the eyes of my mind
I reach out for the part
Of me that lives in you that only our two hearts can find
But I dont want to bore you with my trouble
But theres sumptin bout your love
That makes me weak and
Knocks me off my feet
Theres sumptin bout your love
That makes me weak and
Knocks me off my feet
Knocks me off my feet
3*(I dont want to bore you with it
Oh but I love you, I love you, I love you)
Darling I dont...

Old Man Rain
Old Man Rain at the windowpane
Knocks and fumbles and knocks again:
His long-nailed fingers slip and strain:
Old Man Rain at the windowpane
Knocks all night but knocks in vain.
Old Man Rain.
Old Man Rain at the windowpane
Reels and shambles along the lane:
His old gray whiskers drip and drain:
Old Man Rain with fuddled brain
Reels and staggers like one insane.
Old Man Rain.
Old Man Rain is back again,
With old Mis' Wind at the windowpane,
Dancing there with her tattered train:
Her old shawl flaps as she whirls again
In the wildman dance and is torn in twain.
Old Mis' Wind and Old Man Rain.

The Songs of Summer
The songs of summer are over and past!
The swallow's forsaken the dripping eaves;
Ruined and black 'mid the sodden leaves
The nests are rudely swung in the blast:
And ever the wind like a soul in pain
Knocks and knocks at the window-pane.
The songs of summer are over and past!
Woe's me for a music sweeter than theirs--
The quick, light bound of a step on the stairs,
The greeting of lovers too sweet to last:
And ever the wind like a soul in pain
Knocks and knocks at the window-pane.

Oh, Knock
Oh knocks, knocks and knocks
Some signals come and certainly strike
Oh! I get perturbed and try to decode
It looks unusual and simply odd
I am hale and hearty
Everything runs smoothly with the blessings from almighty
But what is this reminding me all of sudden?
I fail to understand but it remains even then
I have everything with nothing to worry
Life, children and everything assures me not to feel sorry
But that thought again reminds me of departure
Oh God! What this message reminds me for sure
Is it the indication of reminder?
That I must use path finder
Take note of its uncertain nature
Then think of forcible feature
Yes, yes it has slipped out of my mind
The fortune has smiled at me and seems to be very kind
Why I think of its permanent presence?
When it is about to be temporary in its essence?
I got slight hint from the message
It must have been felt along with the age
Is it not the life compared to that of cage?
When one has to leave everything behind for others to manage?
I got the answer and wondered about its knock
It was timely signal to wake up before it was running short of stock
I was not to remain fully involved with attachment
Time had come to remain fully alive to enjoy the moment

Calculations
The competency of calculations exceeds my expectations,
Like living in the wilderness, we calculate somehow;
The reasoning of jests pierces us in the jet of life,
Then life gave mathematical problems, of the hour.
This moon in the sky, when the sky collapses,
Knocks on the door, knocks again and repeatedly;
The sums and products of the deeds in life
Master us in ourselves, even my attention is praised.

It ain't about if he knocks a guy out. It's about how he knocks a guy out. It's the style, the improvisation.
The Return
Who knocks at the door so late, so late—
Who knocks so late at the door?
Is it one who comes as a stranger comes,
Or one who has knocked before?
Is it one who stays with intent to bless,
Or one who stands to implore?
My days have been as the years, she said,
And my heart, my heart is sore;
Love looked in my face for a moment's space
One happy spring of yore—
Looked in my face with a wistful grace:
And left me to grieve evermore!
Through all the days the door stood wide,
For hope had breathed a vow
That love should ne'er be kept outside.
The years were long and hope hath died;
The door at last is barred and fast—
Why comes this knocking now?
Yet woe the waiting heart, she said,
And the heart it waiteth for!
And woe the truth and wasted youth
That nothing shall restore!
The faith that's fled, the hope that's dead,
The dreams that come no more.
Who knocks at the gate—so late, so late?
Thou foolish heart, be still!
What is 't to thee if love or hate
Knocks in the midnight chill?
Art thou, poor heart, compassionate?
Is love so hard to kill?
Ah me! the night is cold, she said;
Would I might all forget;
But memory lives when hope is dead,
And pity heals regret;
As light still lingers overhead
When sun and moon are set.

Boom Boom
By john lee hooker
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Im gonna shoot you right down,
Knock you off of your feet,
And take you home with me.
Put you in my house.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I love to see you strut
When youre walking to me.
When youre talking to me,
That knocks me out.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
You know I like it like that,
With your baby-talk,
Oh and the way that you walk.
You know it knocks me right down,
Knocks me off of my feet.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
How, how, how, how.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Now, now, now, now.

The Only Way
Jesus Christ is the Only Savior
He died for us sinners all
God's Only Son, our Redeemer
Forgiving those to Him who call
For He alone did shed His blood
Up there on the Cross at Calvary
He gave His life, the Way to God
To save all men like you and me.
He knocks today at your heart's door
And to anyone who lets Him in
His loving Grace to him He'll pour
Forgiveness, Love, shall reign within.
'Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.'

I Had In Me The Endless Play Of A Child
I had in me the endless play of a child-
I played my life away
True from time to time
Reality gave me knocks on the head
But somehow I have gone on playing-
Harder knocks may come soon
But to the end or almost to the end,
I will go on writing these lines.

One Knock Two Knocks
One knock, Two knocks
Who's at the door?
Come out once more
One knock, Two knocks
Who's at the door?
Come out and see for sure
A world melts, as one developes
A world ends, as one begins
One Knock, Two knock
Who's at the door?
Open it once more
One Knock, Two knock
Who's at the door?
Come closer and it just might poor
Devastation has come to me.
I hear it like the knocking
The ground is rocking
Given the eyes of a blind man I once again can see
With wings I rise and soar.
Thoughts with clarity I explore
Got to get a better view, maybe from an enormous mountain up so high
Focus on the crystal ball, reading a fortune from the sky
Oh such, such pretty pretty ball
Just let it fall, down to a place full depravity, and derogation
With one Revelation after another they come
knocking knocking on my door
Will I answer, oh will I answer
Only if I must
And its forever open with one fell gust

Baby Got Going
Baby got goin on a southern train, you know
Fired up pistons drivin below
And the whole vibration, seat upholstery
Silky underwear, oh conductor lets roll
Lets roll!
Baby got goin but I cant complain, you know
It knocks me out when she acts so strange,
Its like a big mac truck cut across two lanes in my soul
Conductor, lets throw some metal down, roll!
Lets roll!
Baby got goin when the train kept a rollin
Baby got goin when the train kept a rollin
Baby got goin when the train kept a rollin
Baby got goin when the train kept a rollin
Squeeze her knees underneath a book, you know
A real good shakin is all it took
Cause my babys hooked on me
And as you can see Im wild about her!
She got goin but I cant complain, you know
It knocks me out when she acts so strange
Its like a big mac truck cut across two lanes in my soul
Conductor lets throw some metal down, roll! lets roll!
She gets mad when it goes too slow,
So Im beggin you man keep a-shovelin that coal and lets roll!
Lets roll
Roll
Roll
Roll
Roll
Roll

Hard Knocks
(words & music by j. byers)
Some kids born with a silver spoon
I guess that I was born a little too soon
Hard knocks, all I ever knew was hard knocks
And Im telling you, I said youd better beware
cause Ive had my share
Some kids born as rich as a king
But I was born without a doggone thing
Hard knocks, all I ever knew was hard knocks
And Im telling you, I said youd better beware
cause Ive had my share
I walked a million miles I bet
Tired and hungry and cold and wet
Ive heard that lonesome whistle blow
From new york city down to mexico
Some kids born fancy free
Nobody never gave nothing to me but
Hard knocks, all I ever knew was hard knocks
And Im telling you, I said youd better beware
cause Ive had my share
I walked a million miles I bet
Tired and hungry and cold and wet
Ive heard that lonesome whistle blow
From new york city down to mexico
Some kids born fancy free
Nobody never gave nothing to me but
Hard knocks, all I ever knew was hard knocks
And Im telling you, I said youd better beware
cause Ive had my share
I said youd better beware
cause Ive had my share
I said youd better beware
cause Ive had my share of hard knocks

The Dead Player: In Memory Of Dudley Digges
THE candles lighted and the figure prone
Announce this to you: they are laid aside,
The noble, whimsical and pathetic roles,
Disanimated, not to be resumed!
And still the knocks, the three, the solemn knocks!
The role we singled when we spoke his name,
Of instant goodness and deep faithfulness
Will be sustained beyond the curtain fall.
