Dormouse and a Ghost
This rare creature used to sleep all over the winter.
When the winter was over, one night the poor man heard
Somebody was scuffing the ragged doormat.
Then he slightly opened the door and peeped.
He saw it was scurrying away.
The next day at the same time
Scraping sound came.
He opened the door and kept a carrot on the mat.
This habit continued until the undernourished man died.
But it came as usual to the haunted house and there was always a carrot on the mat.

Love's Castle
Key and bar, key and bar,
Iron bolt and chain!
And what will you do when the King comes
To enter his domain?
Turn key and lift bar,
Loose, oh, bolt and chain!
Open the door and let him in,
And then lock up again.
But, oh, heart, and woe, heart,
Why do you ache so sore?
Never a moment's peace have you
Since Love hath passed the door.
Turn key and lift bar,
And loose bolt and chain;
But Love took in his esquire, Grief,
And there they both remain.

After The County Show
“Hello carrot, my word you do look tasty.”
“Oh, hello knife you too look pretty sharp
a cut above the rest I’d say, but let’s not be too hasty.”
“I say carrot, are you here for today’s county dinner? ”
“No, no not I, I’m a showpiece,
voted best of the show, a gold ribbon winner.”
“I knew you were special, lying next to the sole from Dover,
but surely you must know what you’re doing here
now that the county show is over? ”
“I reckon they want to show me off to all the local villagers.”
“Somehow carrot I think you’d better reckon again,
whilst I slice up the beans and cabbages.”

Usain Bolt, like a thunder bolt
Dashed and darted to his final halt
With all the might combined
Pushing his opponents behind
Making the world wonder if Bolt, a man or a colt

Carrot before rabbit
Carrot gets value in front of a rabbit
And the rabbit wets its tongue, pursuing.
Once bitten, Carrot loses its value.
The distance generates value and saliva
Woman keeping men at an arm length values

To offer at no cost
Shown or withdrawn,
The carrot is not eaten.
But only as it is shown
The rabbit is on run
And the carrot, too, is shone.
If you are withdrawn
I would cease to run
And you lose the fun.
Why is this futile act then?
If you shut out
I am done away with.
If you show up
I am enlivened.
In both ways
You’re not broken.
Why not the status quo, then?

A Chase
Since birth
It's an endless chase.
A carrot was hung before me
And I was made to run.
Run....run......
Surpass others
Make sure you grab it
Before anyone.
The carrot went on
Changing its nature and color
Once you hung it for me
Now see, I have my own.
Once a compulsion
Now an instilled obsession
Drives me hard
Says, run and run.
Dropped humanity
Lost love
Stay behind;
Time for none.
Is it all I am here for?
Bother sometimes
A raising question.

Man of the House
It was a misunderstanding.
I got into bed, made love
with the woman I found there,
called her honey, mowed the lawn,
had three children, painted
the house twice, fixed the furnace,
overcame an addiction to blue pills,
read Spinoza every night
without once meeting his God,
buried one child, ate my share
of Jell-o and meatloaf,
went away for nine hours a day
and came home hoarding my silence,
built a ferris wheel in my mind,
bolt by bolt, then it broke
just as it spun me to the top.
Turns out I live next door.
The nut and the bolt
The bolt that is not fit with a nut
Is not to be construed as unfit
But to be viewed as one misfit.
The bolt must seek one fit to it

X Diary 07 Happy Sam And The Magic Horse
A Children's Tale
Once upon a time
There was a little boy called Happy Sam
Happy Sam lived in a house by a forest
With his mother and his father
And his baby brother
Lucky Peter
One day Happy Sam was walking in the forest
Further from home than he had been before
And he saw –
A HORSE
In the horse’s mouth there was –
A KEY
Happy Sam wanted that key
'HORSE'
Said Happy Sam
'GIVE ME THE KEY'
'Neigh'
Said the horse
Without letting go of the key
Well Happy Sam wanted that key really badly
So he thought
And he thought
And he had -
AN IDEA
Then he ran through the forest
And he ran through the garden
And he ran through the kitchen
And he ran to the refrigerator
And he found -
A CARROT
Then he ran back to the horse
And he said
'HERE HORSE
HAVE A CARROT! '
Well the horse wanted that carrot
So he opened his mouth to get it
And -
HE DROPPED THE KEY
Happy Sam caught the key
And he ran through the forest
And he ran through the garden
And he ran to his family
And he noticed for the first time
That in their hearts there were -
KEYHOLES
And he tried his new key
And he found that it -
JUST FITTED

Defiance Is Pure
the mere act of saying “no”
when others put a gun to your head &
want nothing more than your unmitigated
acquiescence,
is a moment that builds up the skeleton inside
it stands up against all odds
it does not waver in the harshest of winds
it does not convert itself to any tame rendition
it is focused & deliberate
it is as steadfast as a tightened fist in the air of
militant, violent, ceaseless
oppression &
like a concrete statue that is still left standing
after the hurricane has torn up all that encircles it
like taking a carrot grater to an unfortunate
carrot,
you stand defiant
you stand beautiful
you stand
honest.

3 Fingers of Bananas And 4 Boiled Eggs
This is just the beginning and,
This is just like the beginning!
With 3 fingers of bananas and 4 boiled eggs to eat.
I know what i need and,
I know what i buy;
You know what you need and,
You know what you buy;
But, the market out there is for the wise and the fool.
This man said this!
And that woman said that;
This man did this!
And that woman did that;
This boy did this!
And that girl did that;
But, let the water go through it to satisfy you!
For, i have 3 bananas and 4 boiled eggs to eat.

Hey! this song's about rock & roll, and needs some help from the crowd. it goes like this. i can't hear ya!!
Hey! you say that it's over baby, lord,
You say that it's over dear,
But still you hang around me, come on,
Won't you move over.
Yeah! you know that i need a man, hey,
You know that i need a man,
But when i ask you to you just say
That you think you can.
Hey! please dontcha do it to me, babe, no!
Please dontcha do it to me, baby,
Either take the love i offer
Or let me be.
I ain't got no time for walking, no!
I ain't got no time for walking,
What's a poor girl gonna do with your life,
Life all just dangling ?
Hey! make up your mind, honey,
You're playing with me.
Make up your mind, honey,
You're playing with me,
I said now well either be my loving man,
Come on, let me honey, let me be, yeah!
You say that it's over, baby, huh!
You say that it's over dear,
But still you hang around me, come on,
Won't you move over.
Hey! you know that i need a man, baby,
You know that i need a man.
When i ask you to you just say
That you think you can.
I ain't quite a-ready for walking, no!
I ain't quite a-ready for walking,
'cause whatcha gonna do with your life,
Life all just dangling ?
Honey, i feel that it's dangling
Honey, lord, lord, lord.
It's like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, baby now
Like a carrot, dear.
Oh! yeah! yeah! whew!

Many of us have heard opportunity knocking at our door, but by the time we unhooked the chain, pushed back the bolt, turned two locks, and shuts off the burglar alarm - it was gone.
Usain Bolt
'I-ran' like Iran and i sing like Singapore!
My name is Usain Bolt and,
I do eat chili pepper like Chile!
But i am Usain Bolt from Jamaica and,
The world cannot meet me on both 100 metres and 200 metres.
My sincere thanks goes to the 2008 Olympic Games held in China,
For 2008 was my time to proof a point;
Like a turkey from Turkey.
The trace of my race is from the lion of Africa!
And i am Usain Bolt as a runner;
But after many years of training and hardships,
I have now fulfilled my dream with these Gold Medals from China!
But having the visions before hand was my mission.

Locked Doors
For the angels who inhabit this town,
although their shape constantly changes,
each night we leave some cold potatoes
and a bowl of milk on the windowsill.
Usually they inhabit heaven where,
by the way, no tears are allowed.
They push the moon around like
a boiled yam.
The Milky Way is their hen
with her many children.
When it is night the cows lie down
but the moon, that big bull,
stands up.
However, there is a locked room up there
with an iron door that can't be opened.
It has all your bad dreams in it.
It is hell.
Some say the devil locks the door
from the inside.
Some say the angels lock it from the outside.
The people inside have no water
and are never allowed to touch.
They crack like macadam.
They are mute.
They do not cry help
except inside
where their hearts are covered with grubs.
I would like to unlock that door,
turn the rusty key
and hold each fallen one in my arms
but I cannot, I cannot.
I can only sit here on earth
at my place at the table.
