Ending up-front fees should make it far easier for all students to go to university as they will no longer have to pay up to /1,125 out of their loans at the start of each year. Student loans will also rise to meet average living costs.

Even President Bush has cited the need to outlaw the practice of corporations making loans to their officers. Strangely enough, when the President was a corporate officer, he took out several loans from the company.

The (Not-So-Great) Bailout of 2008
Gather round children,
as I tell the tale,
Of how all the banks
started to fail.
About how the government
bailed out the rich,
Rather than the poor,
which would have been a switch.
People were greedy,
for something called cash,
Brokers on Wall Street had plenty,
so what they did seems rash.
And so they started
robbing regular people blind.
That's how America (and the World)
got into a bind.
The banks began approving loans for homes,
to anyone who might need.
The value would go up,
and you could re-mortgage indeed.
People started spending
what they never had.
The way money was their religion
was awfully sad.
People would spend thousands of dollars,
On luxury items and diamond rings,
While poor children went without
food, braces and things.
The world was on a bubble
about to break.
Still banks pushed loans and investments
with ratings that were fake.
The economy crashed
like a run away train.
Regular people watched as their savings
and retirement went down the drain.
The president and congress
fearing another crash,
put together
a bailout plan fast.
They reasoned, if we don't fix the economy
the whole ship will sink.
'You don't understand, ' they claimed
the world is on the brink.
And so the government taught future generations,
handing (the rich) a bone,
That's it's okay to spend
more than you own.

Losing Patience
If one is the owner,
Of another's debt.
And that other one's life,
Has been enhanced by loans and credit,
Kept.
Who is more indebted?
The one who's lifestyle has been fed,
On the achievement of good credit ratings?
Or the one quietly...
Losing patience instead?
If one is the owner of another's debt.
And one of the two brags about a greatness kept.
While the other has sat patiently...
Listening to the boasting,
Of one exposing a pumped up chest!
Which one do you think eventually...
Will extend an upper hand?
And which one will admittedly,
Will express regret and on nothing to stand.
On which can be declared is theirs to own?
Not if one is accustomed to living indebted,
On borrowed finances another loans.
Which one do you 'think' will be left to moan?

Hollywood Holiday
I rode my motorcycle through a watermelon patch
Right on the california freeway
I took my holy Bible on my blessed boogie woogie drive
Cause I know I know I know
Where I go oh lord theyre gonna bless me jive
Poor you poor me
Poor everybody who buy to be
Poor me poor you
Poor everybody who die to do
I parked my motorcycle on hollywood and vine
And sang till my red blood turned boiling blue
I took my sole survival and bore my cross on a string
Cause I know I know I know
What I dear I bear my charm to king
Poor you poor me
Poor everybody who buy to be
Poor me poor you
Poor everybody who die to do

Justice, My
a poor woman lied
on her application for
food stamps about prior
drug convictions,
which was wrong...
but she did it to
feed her two children...
and she has paid the money back!
she got federal jail time.
big banks lied, cheated,
and basically stole on
applications for loans,
made a big profit,
showed a big loss,
and got bailout money...
justice, my ass!

A Banker Who Smokes Weed
And...
May we have a drumroll please.
What ARE you doing?
'I am rolling.'
I said 'DRUMROLL' fool.
Not 'DUMB-ROLL'.
'Oh.'
And...
Drumro ll.
Thank you.
The winner of the race,
In the chase to acquire...
Is...
It seems we have a tie!
However...
Those who have lost seems to be,
The creditors who issued loans...
To the ones living in homes underwater.
And even with foreclosures...
Are asked to remain in them.
The winners?
The bankers and those who smoke weed,
Confessing today they are gay.
'But aren't they the ones who issued the loans? '
Well...in a way,
You are correct.
However...
If you are a banker who smokes weed,
You can lose billions to pocket.
And then make claims you can't remember it.
To snack on bunches of munchies openly,
And with legal support for such actions.
'Are we all insane? '
Only those without a medical prescription.
And holding out with hopes of a return back to normalcy.

I Go For Simplicity My Friend
i go for simplicity my friend
because i am poor
i do not go for sophistication
because i am poor
i do not complicate matters
because i am poor
i do not want you to misunderstand
because i am poor
i do not want you to think some more
because i am poor
i do not want to convince you
because i am poor
i do not want you to be with our side
because we are poor
i want all things in their simplified forms
because we cannot afford
any other form of convolutions
we cannot afford another revolution
it will be expensive
and we have no more years to give
to pay for the sponsors

Slouching towards Wiemar
Your impulses are generous, kind and pure-
But impose costs on us we cannot endure.
One point three trillion spent each year, tis said,
to keep our current poor in their own beds.
Americans face debt related worries
While social engineers break out new Mores.
Recent Grads despair of their careers
and student loans are going in arrears.
Priests, Teachers and the Boy Scouts, rank and file,
Apparently are staffed with pedophiles.

until you run out of other people's money.

Houghton's Bank
HOUGHTON'S BANK
Herd instinct wannabes beg bridge funds, but
Often, spendthrift, find requests for loans
Unsecured denied. Bank makes no bones
Grabbing from those who’d raise themselves from rut,
Hand extended, scored, endures deep cut,
Turns topsy-turvy projects, risk condones,
Obstructing time-vault access with crisp tones,
Neat writing on the wall cites scuttlebutt.
Banking’s a profession where the gut
Active role takes, stakes past winners, drones
Need putting in their place. Prudence postpones
Knackers’ needs, weeds, tightens screw, bolt and nut.
However write-offs rise as profits fall,
Because tight guidelines can’t encompass all.

Houghton's Bank
Here many beg to borrow money but
Offer scant security, their loans
Unjustly are denied and dialling tones
Grow silent, windows shuttered, when door’s shut.
Helping hand where proferred takes deep cut.
Trips many projects while it waste condones,
Opens not the time-vault, makes no bones
Nor panders to the poor trapped in their rut.
Banking’s a profession where the gut
A role should play to back the winner, drones
Need putting in their place, and thus new loans
Keep screw vice tight with prudent bolt and nut.
However, write-offs rise as profits fall,
Because tight guidelines can’t encompass all...

Just Imagine...............
Some of us look at the present state of this world
And wish things could be different
We imagine the way the world should be
We visualize and hypothesize - it is possible
Imagine the whole world speaking one language
Then, there will be no need for translators
Everybody will understand each other
no matter where they live on planet earth
One language will reduce racial discrimination
and facilitate movements across national borders
Just imagine the entire world using one currency
The need to convert dollars into yen will vanish
or ask – how many euros equals one renminbi
or wonder how many pesos equals one rupee
and speculate how many rands equal one riyal
All the folks in foreign exchange departments
will do something else in the financial market
apart from tracking the rise and fall of
money markets and its influence on stock markets
Just imagine the super rich taking more care
of the poor, the needy, and the unemployed
Then, the homeless will disappear from our roads
The beggars will vanish from our streets
An egalitarian society will be in the making
Just imagine free education at all levels
Then, everybody will be able to develop their
talents and natural endowments to the maximum
Scholars will not be burdened with heavy
student loans for the rest of their lives
They will think of better ways to improve the
society rather than think how to pay back loans
Do you feel all the above imaginations are mere dreams?
Who knows tomorrow! Some dreams have turned into reality
in our life-time. Please stay happy and be optimistic.

Farewell
We left the house! No! Lost it!!
To repay our growing debts
Three years of drought and
three years of flood
In the vageries of weather
we poor farmers withered
Sweat dried; returns eluded
Crop loans intact remained
With one last look
At the doors locked
We bid farewell to the
sweet home we held
So dear for many a decade
And reached the open world
To join our own crowded creed
Of former farmers in dire need
To eke livelihood as casual labour
In the same fields we once owned

Who loans his ass to someone else should shit through his ribs.

Almost all the noblest things that have been achieved in the world, have been achieved by poor men; poor scholars, poor professional men, poor artisans and artists, poor philosophers, poets, and men of genius.

A Small Plot Of Land
Poor soul
Spit upon that
Poor soul
He never knew what hit him
And it hit him so
Poor dunce
He pushed back the pigmen
The barbs laughed
The fool is dead
Poor dunce
Hes less than within us
The brains talk
But the will to live is dead
And prayer cant
Travel so far these days
The talk of your life
Standing so near
To innocent eyes
Poor dunce
Swings thru the tunnels
And claws his way
Is small life so manic
Are these really the days
Poor dunce
Poor dunce
Poor soul
Poor soul
Poor soul
