Theo And Weird Henry
Written by John Mellencamp
Henry worked at Sears or somehwhere,
Theo did, too.
They both got themselves a van together;
Nineteen seventy-two, Ford.
Drove around all night long playing music very, very loud.
Big noise, all the time;
Little legends in a little town.
Moments of time they shared together.
Moments of time between two friends.
Standing on street corners with shirts unbuttoned.
There was a moment in time they swore they were friends to the end.
Couple of wild boys
They told me they could hear the grass grow.
Theo used to say, hey Henry, man,
I'm screwin' this cat.
You're just holdin' it.
I never knew what they was talking about
But they laughed like they both thought it was funny.
Theo and weird Henry went chasing after something
And neither one of them believing in nothing.
Moments in time they shared together,
Called themselves the

Called themselves the he-man women lovers club,
Throwin pop bottles against the wall just to get some attention.
There was a moment in time they swore they were friends until the end.
Theos out there living it up doing a little earth shaking -somewhere.
Henry sent a postcard from a better place
But I can see them both sitting there laughing and breathing.
I can still see that smile on weird henrys face.
Moments in time they shared together,
Moments in time between two friends.
Dancing on that old van with their shirts wide open,
That was a moment in time they swore they were blood brothers until the end.

Funny moments shared with her
Funny moments shared with her
Lodged inside my head
Laughing loud just having fun
Alive and never dead
Funny moments shared with her
Sometimes hot or cold
Never will it be the same
The story I've been told
Funny moments shared with her
Will bring a smile to me
Oh baby can we laugh once more
I'm missing us the we

The Same Mother
They each shared
the same mother
shared the same loss of her
when the time came
gave the same
last wave
when she was
driven off
to crematorium
and then grave
but each had
their own mother
whom they shared
with no other
one with whom
they shared
a particular time
or place
sitting quietly
face to face
sharing a secret
or confessing
a deed done
or just
the mother to child meeting
with just the two
at some given time
at some particular place
some given year
to share a problem
or tears or anxieties
or deeper fears
and knowing
she would listen
as only mother's can
or do
sharing the time and love
with each particular
person called you
whether daughter or son
she shared
her equal love and time
and yet each knew her
each thought
they knew her best
and carried away
their own best times
in her company
without the rest
their own moments shared
but deep down
they knew
she had her love for each
and each was equal
to the rest
for she never had
a favourite
nor considered
any one the best
so they all shared
the same mother
in the end
all grieved her going
each in their own way
hoping or believing
they would share her
once again
some better place
some future day.

Moments Of Pleasure
Some moments that Ive had
Some moments of pleasure
I think about us lying
Lying on a beach somewhere
I think about us diving
Diving off a rock, into another moment
The case of george the wipe
Oh God I cant stop laughing
This sense of humour of mine
It isnt funny at all
Oh but we sit up all night
Talking about it
Just being alive
It can really hurt
And these moments given
Are a gift from time
On a balcony in new york
Its just started to snow
He meets us at the lift
Like douglas fairbanks
Waving his walking stick
But he isnt well at all
The buildings of new york
Look just like mountains through the snow
Just being alive
It can really hurt
And these moments given
Are a gift from time
Just let us try
To give these moments back
To those we love
To those who will survive
And I can hear my mother saying
Every old sock meets an old shoe
Isnt that a great saying?
Every old sock meets an old shoe
Here come the hills of time
Hey there maureen,
Hey there bubba,
Dancing down the aisle of a plane,
s murph, playing his guitar refrain,
Hey there teddy,
Spinning in the chair at abbey road,
Hey there michael,
Do you really love me?
Hey there bill,
Could you turn the lights up?

Close Family
Time melts in magical moments,
As if within love's spell,
Each day we can share it with friends,
Before we say farewell...
The cheetahs shared a common bond
Borne of their company
And showed to all that they were fond
Of their close family.
It wasn't fear that brought them near,
But gentleness within -
With those held precious and most dear,
Yes, one's own kith and kin.
They found serenity that day
Beneath that soothing sun,
It thus became the perfect way
To find peace, one-on-one...
The blowing breeze caressed their cheeks
Upon that afternoon
And in that calm, their silence speaks,
Although this must end soon...
For now, they shared tranquillity,
No need for food and drink,
Just simple sweet civility,
Reflection, time to think...
Time melts in magical moments,
As if within love's spell,
Each day we can share it with friends,
Before we say farewell...
The poem is based on the magnificent painting
by Stephen Gayford called 'Close Family'.

Till We Meet
The time has come, for us to reflect back,
On the moments we shared, our entire journey through,
Moments of joy, moments of sorrow,
Friendships, brotherhood and love,
We made lots, but also lost some,
Temptations our way, the strong overcame,
Not all were strong, as others fell prey,
As tough as it was, the journey has to end,
Memories forever will be, etched some place in the mind,
It’s time to say goodbye, so here goes mine…
GOODBYE….

Magic Moments
(h. david / b. bacharach)
Magic moments, when two hearts are caring.
Magic moments, memories weve been sharing.
Ill never forget the moment we kissed,
The night of the hay-ride.
The way that we hugged and tried to keep warm
On taking the sleigh-ride.
Magic moments, when two hearts are caring.
Magic moments, memories weve been sharing.
Time cant erase, the memory of
These magic moments, filled with love.
The telephone call that tied up the line
For hours and hours.
The saturday dance I got up the nerves
To send you some flowqers.
Magic moments, when two hearts are caring.
Magic moments, memories weve been sharing.
Time cant erase, the memory of
These magic moments, filled with love.
The way that we cheered on one of our team
For scoring a touch-down.
The time when the floor fell out of my car,
When I put the clutch down.
The petty arcade, the games that we played,
The fun and the prizes.
The halloween hop, when everyone came
In funny disguises.
Magic moments, filled with love. (la la la la la la)

Time To Fear
Picture me on the edge of sadness
I was too blind to see the truth
My hearts beating fast I'm not alone
but you're not there
Friendly smiles steal a glance
But me I'm furious inside
Can I get out of here now
Everything is falling down on me
And deep inside my mind I know I love you
Time is that all I really got to fear
From all these precious moments of my life
Time is that all I really got to fear
From all these precious moments of my life
You say I do always wrong
So you must hurt me again
I feel so sorry
but you do not
And you're not here
I question why I left you
Ain't love when under your sway
Will I be safe in here now
Eveything is falling down on me
And deep inside my mind I know I miss you
Time is that all I really got to fear
From all these precious moments of my live
Time is that all I really got to fear
From all these precious moments of my live
Time is that all I really got to fear time time
Time is that all I really got to fear
From all these precious moments of my live
Time is that all I really got to fear
From all these precious moments of my live
Time time time time
That Month July
That year...
Autumn months soon fade away
Spring rains skip town and leave no trace
But sun shone bright that summer day
When I first met you, face to face
It seemed as if no time had passed
'Til we were talking night and day
But summer never seems to last
And with time came our separate ways.
Years come and go, but moments stay
Hold with us through the stinging snow
Moments thought of night and day
Things I long to let you know.
Lifechanger, hero, mentor, friend
I could label you, but why?
The memories will never end
Thoughts linger, of that month July.

Heart Of Friendship
Last night I had a conversation with a friend
and we talked about the next time we were to meet
and the new memories that we will make.
We remembered our last time together
that cemented us as friends.
How what seemed like impossible odds
that everything fell together
making our stay an enjoyable one.
How after our first meeting between us
we knew instantly everything was going to be ok.
We shared those special moments
through an invisible line,
those wonderful memories
we acquired from a place
we call the heart of friendship.

Moments of Thought
Moments of thought, flowing in like a river wild
Crashing against the shore of my inner most self
Motions of reality, intertwined with fantasy of bright skies and solid gold
One moment of this thought, another moment of that thought
Moments of thought, as construction workers build a structure
hammer, nails sounds of progress, higher my thoughts are built
Motions of truth, mixed with purpose of success and prosperity
One moment of this thought and another moment of that thought
Moments of thought, flowing, building
My thoughts of self, my intimate me
Reality, fantasy, truth with success and prosperity
Thoughts come and thoughts go, this that and the other
Treasured Moments
Every one of us has moments,
treasured moments to call our own.
They come when we’re not looking,
and linger with us a lifetime.
They bring happiness
that we can look back on,
through our growing years.
No one can steal them from us,
nor taint them in anyway.
They are our treasured moments,
that linger with us,
even when we pray.
They are little time capsules
that hold our world together,
when we are feeling down.
They are the joys we reached,
when heaven said, its you.
Treasured moments
like photographs,
capture a moment in time.
We think of some thing to associate them with.
So when we see that thing
we can enjoy them once more,
those treasured moments.

Promise Kept Between Lovers (Oct 5th,2003)
I remember the day when
we found ourselves together
we delighted in our thoughts
we cherished the time together
we were alone in the moment
we were apart from everything going on around us
for but only those moments shared
we were ourselves
we were not some cold
heartless indestructible uncaring team
we felt love caring pain, emotion together
we knew each other in every way
we shared everything openly
At first we were different and were what they
thought we were
it was how we were that brought us together
but how we became that kept us together
The complications of everything happening
around us including our roles in it brought us apart
Like then, I choose to not bring
everything going on around us in
to taint our time spent together
I know not how you choose to remember things
but I choose to never forget
and to keep my promise
that we made to one another
I remember the day..

Final Good-Byes
as we say our final good-byes
I won't be fully there
I'll be thinking of time we shared
and what it'll be like without you
you're moving
it'll be sad to see
but it's nothing new
for it's plain to see
I liked you
you'd never tell
or see for that matter
how I truy feel
I thought there was something
special we shared
a bond a connection
that wouldn't rip us apart
but these are our final days
until we're far apart
I will treasure them always
you'll be in my heart
you reached me
for the first time I say
I'd trust you with my life
even on my last day
I'll think about you
and wonder 'What if...'
what if you never left
what if we could be
some think it's foolishness
but I'll never tell
how you made me feel
and how you made me melt
when I hear your voice
I always turn back to see
you smiling at me
and calling me near
some say you're normal
I say their wrong
you're something special
because you made me strong
I know we're just friends
but there's more there
I never saw it coming
but it's something I must bare
so good-bye
but not forever
time will tell
what was truly there
I will miss you
more than you know
it's the hardest thing to do
saying good-bye to you
these moments are going
as I wave you good-bye
it could be the last I see you
I'll miss you no lie.

Those Special Moments
If only we could keep
those moments from slippin' away,
grab hold of them and cherish them
and try to make them stay.
But moments like those so often
are hard to hold onto.
They slip right through your fingers
no matter what you do.
You can think about it, talk about it
and remember it for a while.
Then as time keeps rushing away
what's left is just a smile.
The smile that brings those moments back
as if they were happening now.
And those moments that happened long ago
come alive somehow.
And you realize just a glimpse of them
awakens how you feel.
It takes you back to those moments
that time can never steal.

Stolen Moments
Because you were stillborn my little niece
The moment of me holding you in my arms for the first time has been stolen.
I’ll never have that moment of hearing you say my name that moment has also been stolen.
I’ll never feel your sweet kisses on my cheek or your hugs around my neck more stolen moments.
A lot of the special moments we would have shared have been stolen.
But I want you to know the moment of me loving you my little sweet angel was not.
The moment I knew of you; you stole my heart.
I’ll love you in this moment and every moment for the rest of my life.
This poem is dedicate in memory to my little niece who I passed away today 3/1/08. She was stillborn
Butterfly
Be the only one to know and be my alibi,
put on all the things you wore and wear them out.
We'll collide before you know and I apologise,
for shutting up and leaving slow when I'm around.
I'll be right in front of you when I've got it all figured out,
to be the only one who knows what to do when there ain't no doubt.
And all this time will feel like seconds now.
And all this time will feel like moments now.
So keep the light on, watch them all rush round,
and through it all, keep smiling.
Do whatever you may decide on,
and any place or any time,
through it all, you're shining.
Just trying to make it right,
I won't fight.
And all this time will feel like moments now.
And all this time will feel like moments now.

Woman, You Deserve More
Woman, you deserve more than flowers.
You deserve more than vows.
You deserve more than that ring,
Woman, you deserve more than love
The beauty in your eyes
Woman you deserve more than tender touches
The beauty of your voice
Woman you deserve more than kisses
Dear you deserve more,
something unseen, someone untouchable
More than gold, more than diamonds triple fold
Trust me, you deserve more

You can read books, hear music or watch movies.
In such moments you enjoy passive time.
You can write, draw, sing or play music.
