It Don't Scare Me None
Written by: Larry Crane
Performed by: John Mellencamp
Well, it don't scare me none,
I've been there before,
Sideswiped an old Oak tree
In a rusted-out old Ford.
Shot at guys who were shootin' back
In the Second World War,
And it don't scare me none
I've been there before.
Well I fell in love with a woman
Who did not love me back,
Bare-handled rattle snakes
And threw 'em in a sack,
Honkey tonked with strangers
Who were eating broken glass,
Well, it don't scare me none
'Cause I'll be comin' back.
I take from my loved ones
To gamble on my friends,
I take the long way home
And the fun never ends,
Woke up blurry-eyed
Wonderin' where I've been,
I've wrestled with my conscience,
But my conscience never wins.
No you don't scare me none,
I've been there before
Sideswiped an old Oak tree
In a rusted-out old Ford.
Shot at guys who were shooting back
In the Second World War,
And it don't scare me none
I've been there before.
Well, the preacher man, he told me
I'd better change my ways,
Put a lid on the boilin' pot
Or there'd be Hell to pay,
Hell ain't no place
For a guy to jump the track,
But it don't scare me none
'Cause man, I'm coming back.
Well it don't scare me none,
I've been there before,
Sideswiped an old Oak tree
In a rusted-out old Ford.
Shot at guys who were shooting back
In the Second World War,
And it don't scare me none,
'Cause I've been there before.

Lose The Respect And Reputation?
Entering into somebody's house,
Scare while one goes into,
Scare while one returns from,
Scare while one is enjoying the desire,
Scare while one is trying to hide his activities from others;
While there is fear and scare forever,
why one does not consider the risk
of entering into somebody's house,
of desirous to have contact with somebody's wife
and lose the respect and reputation? (naalatiyaar 83)
There is always fear of
Sexually Transmitted Disease,
Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome,
Beware of your activity!

Black Maria
Black maria, you scare me so
I feel as though my heart stop dead
Youre a liar, this I know
I watch you go around my head
Oh, Im going down slow
You scare me so
Oh, you never let go
You scare me so
Gay deceiver, my eyes they burned
My insides turned, my brain it rolled
Unbeliever, but now Ive learned
I took my turn, I come up cold

My own love
When I told I loved you, did I scare you away? When I told you I loved you?
Did it make you want to stay?
How precious these days are? I just can not say?
I love you more than I ever knew.
I been waiting to meet you, and the day finally came.
I felt you in my soul, you were the other part of me.
Now your here and I am complete...
When I told I loved you, did I scare you away? When I told you I loved you?
Did it make you want to stay?
You are my dream lover, my best friend, without you, I am not complete.....
I been waiting for you and I even met you in my dreams......
I had love so confused and I made all my mistakes and I thought it was you.....
When I told I loved you, did I scare you away? When I told you I loved you?
Did it make you want to stay?
Tell me you love and just don't go away.....

It can't really happen today the way it did back then and part of that is because I think there's a bit of a competitive scare over at Marvel and DC so they lock guys up with exclusive contracts.

Harold And Joe
Nothing ever gets in my way
Nothing ever gets on my mind
Nothing ever makes me stop to think about
Nothing of the kind
Nothing ever loses me sleep
And nothing ever wins my heart
Nothing ever makes me want to sing along
And nothing makes me want to start
If i'm falling down a mountain
Then i pick myself up
And if i crash into an iceberg
I don't give a frightful look around
If i am burning then i put myself out
I'm so completely full
I scare the world
Oh all the world
All inside out
Just look around
Just look around
Nothing ever puts me out
Nothing ever pulls me in
Nothing ever makes me want to jump
Nothing makes me want to begin
Nothing ever gets me down
Nothing ever gets me uptight
Nothing ever makes me run around
And nothing makes me feel i might
If i'm hanging from a peach tree
Then i cut myself down
And if i look into the sun
I just turn up the sound
And if i swallow deathcap loverooms
Then i spit them right out
I'm so completely full
I scare the world
Yeah all the world
Inside out
Just look around
Just look around
Nothing ever gets in my way
Nothing ever gets on my mind
Nothing ever makes me stop to think about

Little Ghost
Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
D
The first woman that I met her
I did not expect a specter
When I shook her hand I really shook a glove
She looked into me so sweetly
And we left the room discreetly
No one else could know the secret of our love
I
Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
E
Every morning I awoke
And I see my little ghost
Wond'rin' if it's really her that's lying there
I lean to touch her and I whisper
But not brave enough to kiss her
S
When I held her I was really holding air
T
Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
U
Though I try my best to keep it
There really was no secret
Must have looked like I was dancing with the wall
No one else could see this apparition
But because of my condition
I fell in love with a little ghost and that was all
Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
No, it's not yet time to meet the lord above

Scare answers to scare, and force begets force, until at length it comes to be seen that we are racing one against another after a phantom security which continually vanishes as we approach.

Mr. Charlie
I take a little powder, take a little salt, put it in my shotgun, I go walkin'
Jubba jubba, wolly bully, looking high, looking low,
Gonna scare you up and shoot ya, Mister Charlie told me so.
I won't even take your life, won't even take a limb,
Just unload my shotgun, take a little skin.
Jubba jubba, wolly bully, looking high, looking low,
Gonna scare you up and shoot ya, Mister Charlie told me so.
Well you take my silver dollar, take those silver dimes,
Fix it up together in some alligator wine.
I can hear the drums, voodoo all night long,
Mister Charlie tells me I can't do nothing wrong.
Jubba jubba, wolly bully, looking high, looking low,
Gonna scare you up and shoot ya, Mister Charlie told me so.
Now Mister Charlie told me, won't you like to know,
Give you little warning before I let you go.
Jubba jubba, wolly bully, looking high, looking low,
Gonna scare you up and shoot ya, Mister Charlie told me so.
Gonna scare you up and shoot ya, Mister Charlie, Mister Charlie told me so.

You Scare Me
You Scare Me (This one is written for and about poetry. It is not meant to or for any person in general)
You scare me
More than you'll ever know
That is why
I feel that I must go

One Last Walk
As I sit all alone in my concrete cell,
I think about how my life was hell
I grew up abused by my step-dad,
Dreams of better days were all that I had.
Till that day he hit my mom,
I could not take it, it was like a bomb.
I went to the closet and grabbed a gun,
I went to his room to have some fun.
All I wanted was to scare him straight,
I was tired of all the constant hate.
“I love my mom, ” I said to him,
“You’re not my father, I hate you, Jim.”
He got mad with this endless rage,
He said, “Drop the gun and back to your cage.”
He jumped at me and grabbed the gun,
I shot him and then all I could do was run.
The cops were called and I was found,
They took me in and hands were bound.
They put me on trial for murder first degree,
The jury can back and all agree.
That I must die for my crime,
I’m only a kid; I’ll never see my prime.
I’m all alone and I sit and cry,
For there is one last walk before I die.

A Snake Yarn
"You talk of snakes," said Jack the Rat,
"But blow me, one hot summer,
I seen a thing that knocked me flat -
Fourteen foot long or more than that,
It was a reg'lar hummer!
Lay right along a sort of bog,
Just like a log!
"The ugly thing was lyin' there
And not a sign o' movin',
Give any man a nasty scare;
Seen nothin' like it anywhere
Since I first started drovin'.
And yet it didn't scare my dog.
Looked like a log!
"I had to cross that bog, yer see,
And bluey I was humpin';
But wonderin' what that thing could be
A-lyin' there in front o' me
I didn't feel like jumpin'.
Yet, though I shivered like a frog,
It seemed a log!
"I takes a leap and lands right on
The back of that there whopper!"
He stopped. We waited. Then Big Mac
Remarked: "Well, then, what happened, Jack?"
"Not much," said Jack, and drained his grog.
"It was a log!"

The New Scary Thing About America
i am told
about the new scare
and i am scared
and you have to start moving on
somewhere
here back at home
with our nipa huts
and morning glory salads
less the winter
and the chill
we are waiting
welcome back
my old friend
the river is not as cold
as you think
and the trunks of the trees
are not as rotten
as you once wrote
the road back home
is not bumpy
anymore

Ghosts
Theres a ghost down in the hall
Theres a ghoul upon the bed
Theres something in the walls
Theres blood up on the stairs
And its floating through the room
And theres nothing I can see
And I know that thats the truth
Because now its onto me
I dont understand it
Hey
I dont understand it!
Aaow
Theres a tappin in the floor
Theres a creak behind the door
Theres a rocking in the chair
But theres no-one sitting there
Theres a ghostly smell around
But nobody to be found
And a coughin and a yawnin
Where a restless soul is going
Dont understand it
Hey!
Dont understand it
Hey.
And who gave you the right to shake my family?
And who gave you the right to shake my baby, she needs me
And who gave you the right to shake my family tree?
You put a knife in my back
Shot an arrow in me!
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
The ghost of jealousy
Theres a tappin in the floor
Theres a creak behind the door
Theres a rocking in the chair
But nobodys sitting there
Theres a ghostly smell around
But nobody to be found
And a coughin and a yawnin
Where a restless soul is going
Dont understand it!
Yeah yeah!
Dont understand it!
Your just a dog gone!
Aaow!
And who gave you the right to scare my family?
And who gave you the right to scare my baby, she needs me
And who gave you the right to shake my family tree?
And who gave you the right to take intrusion, to see me?
And who gave you the right to shake my family?
And who gave you the right to hurt my baby, she needs me
And who gave you the right to shake my family tree?
You put a knife in my back,
Shot an arrow in me!
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
A suckin ghost of jealousy
Aaow!
And who gave you the right to shake my family?
And who gave you the right to shake my baby, she needs me
And who gave you the right to shake my family tree?
And who gave you the right to take, intrusion to see me?
And who gave you the right to hurt my family?
And who gave you the right hurt my baby, she needs me
And who gave you the right to shake my family tree?
You put a knife in my back
Shot an arrow in me!
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
The ghost of jealousy
Aaow
Dog gone
But theres no doubt about it, piece of mind
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy

My Word
I have a scare
It so grate that the effort of eminent elite is proving bizzare and rearched to my illing tendencies
My good seeds are not producing a copy of their owne again
Instead they are busy looting my strength
They are the the leader of all fetter of convention
If I dissapear my cause is clear
Because you are not observing you will say this not fair
Now listening this is my word
I am the world
Vast bliss bound peace will erase my scare
This is for those who are here
Sooner or later I will doom forever

A Girl Afraid Of A Broken Heart
She won't give up her heart easily
She knows all too well the serious
Implications a mistake like that could
Bring upon her
She's been through hell and back
Nothing terrifies her more than thought
Of heart being shattered into a million
Microscopic peices scattered through out
The four corners of the world
You must work slowly
You must ease her into it
Or you'll scare her off and you never
See her again
