There once was a drunk from Dover
who fell asleep in the clover.
he woke up and said,
what's this on my head
The cows had splattered him all over.

There was an Old Person of Dover,
Who rushed through a field of blue Clover;
But some very large bees,
Stung his nose and his knees,
So he very soon went back to Dover.

Clover Over Dover
I'm on the white cliffs of Dover
Thinking it over and over
But if I jump it's all over
A cautionary tale for you
I'd like to roll in the clover
With you over and over
On the white cliffs of Dover
And then I let you push me over
If that is the fact
Then in actual fact
I'm not where it's at
And it's over
Oh

Being Drunk's A Lot Like Loving You
I drank till I Stumbled
I drank till i fell
When The drunk part was over it hurt me like hell now i know about drinkin so i know one
things true bein drunk's a lot like lovin you
Cause I loved till i stumbled
I loved till I fell
When the When the lovin was over it hurt me like hell I know what a taste of the wrong love
can do being drunk's a lot like lovin you
And I've woke up some mornings a sworn off the drink at that ive done reasonably well I think
but i havent done well swearin off you and me and that ive failed miserably
Well ive felt the hangover of lovin all night ive sat at the bar all alone in a fight I've
bottled up feelings and poured 'em out to
Being drunk's a lot like lovin you
And I've woke up some mornings a sworn off the drink at that ive done reasonably well I think
but i havent done well swearin off you and me and that ive failed miserably
I've drank till i stumbled
I love till i fell
When the drunk part was over love hurt me like hell now i know about drinkin so i know one
things true being drunk's a lot like lovin you
Well i know what a taste of the wrong love can do sometimes i still get drunk lovin you

The Troubles (home Demo)
Well hush my children don't you cry
The troubles will soon all be over
The tears that swell in every eye
Will fall to the ground and bring clover
The soldiers are only teenage boys
The same as in Durban or Dover
So rein aside all your warring toys
The troubles will soon all be over
Well hush my children go to sleep
The troubles will soon all be over
Their bombs will form a rusting heap
For flowers and fern to grow over
Their leaders are only drunk with fear
They wouldn't do this be they sober
And when they drink our friendship clear
The troubles will soon all be over

Down From Dover
I know this dress Im wearing doesnt hide the secret I have tried concealing
When he left he promised me that hed be back by the time it was revealing
The sun behind a cloud just casts the crawling shadow oer the fields of clover
And time is running out for me I wish that he would hurry down from dover
Hes been gone so long when he left the snow was deep upon the ground
And I have seen a spring and summer pass and now the leaves are turning brown
And any time a tiny face will show itself cause waitings almost over
But I wont have a name to give it if he doesnt hurry down from dover
My folks werent understanding when they found out they sent me from the home place
My daddy said if folks found out hed be ashamed to ever show his face
My mamma said I was a fool and she did not believe it when I told her
That everything would be all right cause soon he would be coming down from dover
I loved him more than anything and I could not refuse him when he needed me
He was the only one Id loved and I just cant believe that he was using me
He couldnt leave me here like this I know it cant be so it cant be over
He wouldnt make me go through this so long, oh hell be coming down from dover
My body aches the time is here its lonely in this place where Im lyin
Our baby has been born but somethings wrong its much too still I hear no cryin
I guess in some strange way she knew shed never have a fathers arms to hold her
And dying was her way of telling me he wasnt coming down from dover

Sleeping on Horseback
We had rode long and were still far from the inn;
My eyes grew dim; for a moment I fell asleep.
Under my right arm the whip still dangled;
In my left hand the reins for an instant slackened.
Suddenly I woke and turned to question my groom:
'We have gone a hundred paces since you fell asleep.'
Body and spirit for a while had exchanged place;
Swift and slow had turned to their contraries.
For these few steps that my horse had carried me
Had taken in my dream countless aeons of time!
True indeed is that saying of Wise Men
'A hundred years are but a moment of sleep.'
I had plenty of pimples as a kid. One day I fell asleep in the library. When I woke up, a blind man was reading my face.

Brutal
Brutal
Sometimes I feel that you're a part of me,
Although it don't seem real it's how I want it to be
But if you can't stay, then I'll understand
You're just sawdust in my empty hand
If you can't decide I'll still be true
Just open wide; I'm here for you
And if you think that you've found a gentle sound,
Where love breaks down; It's alright.
And if you can't overcome what get's you down,
Don't get uptight; It's alright.
I'm a shallow man in an hollow land
On a beaten track under your command
And the sound in my head goes round and round
Like a drunk on the stairs who just fell down
But now it seems like a distant dream
When it all lived long
Wrong with our love supreme
And the sound in my head goes round and round
Like a drunk on the stairs who just fell down
And if you think that you've found a gentle sound,
Where love breaks down; It's alright.
And if you can't overcome what get's you down,
Don't get uptight; It's alright.
It's alright.
the sound in my head goes round and round
Like a drunk on the stairs who just fell down
And if you think that you've found a gentle sound,
Where love breaks down; It's alright.
And if you can't overcome what get's you down,
Don't get uptight; It's alright.
It's alright

Still Drunk With Sleep
i woke up
with your hand
...on my longing...
from some distant sphere.
pulsing, throbbing, hoping,
till
...my
....heart
......broke,
and fell
....like
......morning
........dew,
on your eyelids,
..still drunk with sleep!

Oneiromancy
I fell asleep and dreamed that I
Was flung, like Vulcan, from the sky;
Like him was lamed-another part:
His leg was crippled and my heart.
I woke in time to see my love
Conceal a letter in her glove

After Richmond, we went to Dover and tested that week at Kentucky. I was going to Dover and we had to get the trainer to meet us at the airport. I had to do some therapy on my ribs they hurt so bad.

Blame It On The Mistletoe
The middle of December ain't the time to be alone
It's just too close to Christmas
And too far to go home
I ran in to a friend of a friend
Standing in checkout line
She said, I've spent too much already
And there's gifts I just can't find
I walked her home and when she opened up her door
I'm not sure what happened then
Guess magic took it's course
Blame it on the mistletoe
'Cause what happened here nobody knows
How could something simple as a kiss
Change my holiday like this
And we held each other all night long
And we fell asleep to a Christmas song
Playin' on the radio
Blame it on the mistletoe
I woke up, she was wrappin' gifts beneath the tree
She said, I know it's early, so I thought I'd let you sleep
Then she insisted I get up and take a look outside
Hey sleepyhead, it must have snowed at least a foot last night
That's when I saw it hangin' up above my head
She threw her arms around my neck
Laughin' as she said
Blame it on the mistletoe
'Cause what happened here nobody knows
How could something simple as a kiss
Change my holiday like this
And we held each other all night long
And we fell asleep to a Christmas song

Please Daddy Don't Get Drunk This Christmas
Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas
I don't want to see my Momma cry
Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas
I don't want my Momma cry
Just last year when I was only seven
Now I'm almost eight, as you can see
You came home a quarter past eleven
And fell down underneath
our Christmas tree
Chorus
"Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas
I don't want to see my Momma cry
Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas
"Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas
I don't want to see my Momma cry
Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas
I don't want my Momma cry
"Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas
I don't want to see my Momma cry
Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas
I don't want my Momma cry
I don't want my Momma cry
Mama smiled and looked
Outside the window
She told me son
You better go upstairs Then you laughed and hollered
"Merry Christmas"
I turned around and saw
My Momma's tears
Chorus
No,I don't want to see my Momma cry

Four Leaf Clover
I wish I could find
a four-leaf clover
to give me a bit of luck.
Therefore, off I trotted
to have a look.
I found a lot of clover,
but not one
four leafed clover there.

Fodder-Time
How sweet the manger smells! The cows all listen
With outstretched necks, and with impatient lowing;
They greet the clover, their content now showing--
And how they lick their noses till they glisten!
The velvet-coated beauties do not languish
Beneath the morning's golden light that's breaking,
The unexhausted spring of life awaking,
Their golden eyes of velvet full of anguish.
They patiently endure their pains. Bestowing
Their sympathy, the other cows are ruing
Their unproductive udders and renewing
At milking-time their labor and their lowing.
And now I must deceive the darling bossy--
With hand in milk must make it suck my finger.
Its tender lips cling close like joys that linger,
And feel so warm with dripping white and flossy.
This very hand my people with devotion
Do kiss, which paints and plays and writes moreover--
I would it had done naught but pile the clover
To feed the kine that know no base emotion.

Khaled
Last night i fell in love with you but,
You woke up early and left in the dark;
For your gods were very hungry and,
You went and fed them!
I am still waiting for the fulfilment of my dreams,
And i do always have you in my mind;
But your gods are now angry and,
I have to watch my steps.
Khaled!
How the birds came and sang with your name;
But the rats are now asleep because of the cat.

The Three Of Us
Our daughter woke up
She has been sick all night
So we took her to the hospital
They said she's going to be fine.
My wife, she was covered in tears,
They talked to us minimizing all our fears
So I took them home put our daughter in our bed
She fell asleep immediately, so did her mom
And that's the way we slept all night long.
