The Squirrel Said

The Squirrel said.
'Attention all! '
He stands tall.
On a wooden fence,
in suspense.

Their Squirrel Head,
Their squirrel said,
'My nuts are gone,
My nuts are gone! '

Did you check under your bed?
Another squirrel joking said,
'Of course I did! ' the squirrel said,
'I am the Squirrel head'.

Maybe you forgot you've ate,
Autumn now, it's not too late,
Just look for more, Squirrel Head,
An elderly wise squirrel said.

Squirrel

Here I am, I’m the squirrel!
I store nuts in a hole,
Before it gets too cold.
I scurry from tree to tree,
Collecting all the nuts that be.
I put them in holes near and far,
So that I forget where many are!
Look up at me and I’ll give you some cheek,
Then run up a branch without a creak.
Some probably think I am a nut,
Burying like I have no head, but;
God made me,
And that is just who I will be.
See me here, see me there,
I’m everywhere!
I’m the squirrel!

God's Nuts

This is my philosophy:
'If a squirrel can do the shimmy from an old Oak tree...
That same squirrel can shimmy from a Pine.
And still gather nuts from wherever they may drop!
They are 'still' God's nuts...Divine!
Regardless from where they are gotten.'

The moral of this?
Whether you sit in the orchestra seats,
Or in the balcony.
The price of the popcorn remains the same.
The only change you will get,
Depends on the price!
And how you are paying for it!

AND,
If you had expected butter...
You should have been prepared,
To bring your own!
OR...
You can sit back and absorb the experience.
Either way,
An OPEN mind is always learning something.

New To The Neighborhood

I know you are new to the neighborhood.
And with that said...
I would caution you not to make any attempts,
To treat the other squirrels you see around here...
With respect or hints of it.
Since...
If you permit yourself to do that...
You just might find your nuts cracked.

'That's fine with me.
Isn't that the purpose?
I would consider that a neighborly act of unity.
And if I may admit this...
Sometimes it would be nice to sit and relax.
Knowing that another squirrel would do that for me.
And I didn't have to scratch any squirrel's back,
To keep my own nuts protected.'

Yeah...
You're new.
You've taken my comments...
Too far out on branches dislocated from the trees.
You must be a rehabilitated nut crusher?
Have you just been released,
From those Scotch Pines behind the Maples?

'No!
I'm a realist.'

Tired of Nuts

If by birth I was a squirrel
With dreams someday I'd speak.
I would not spend time
Jumping from tree to tree
Or staring at birds searching worms
Pecked from the ground and pulled with beaks.

I'd gather all my nuts to munch,
And practice vowels from a branch...
'A-E-I-O-U' I'd do,
Adopting fresh skills to enhance!

And I would do this out loud, of course...
To keep stunned squirrels aware,
I had heights I wanted to achieve
And sights other than nuts to bite...
Before the season dropped their leaves from trees!

And visions of speeches,
To prepare and teach...
More squirrels I knew who grew tired of nuts,
Too close without a challenge to reach.
And 'that' I would suspect from a hunch!

The Hungry Squirrel

It is the winter of 2001;
’Tis raining cats and dogs;
A hungry squirrel madly runs,
In frantic search of food!

It can’t control its hunger pangs;
The weather’s damp and cold;
There is no sign of any food;
How can it remain warm?

The guava-fruits have disappeared;
Papayas are unripe;
The Pea-fowls guard the Palmyras;
There are no wild berries.

The squirrel squeaks quite endlessly;
Its warmth is running out;
Perhaps, it thinks of grandpa-days,
Of juicy fruits and nuts.

But soon, the squeaks have feeble gone;
Did the rodent find some food?
Nature often cruel turns,
Leaving the beasts unfed.

The Squirrel hasn’t turned up, of late;
Is it then dead or gone?
Starved to death by Nature dear?
Or perhaps still alive!

While men can go and purchase food,
What can these poor beasts do?
Yet, Mother Nature cares for them,
Much better than me, you!

You Must Be Nuts? You've Got To Be!

You 'must' be nuts?
You've got to be!

You are telling me,
I can not have...
What has been given,
To my brothers and sisters...
Whether or not they had asked for it?
And this has been done,
IN my presence to disregard my loyalty?

You must be nuts?
You've got to be!

Not only am I going to have what I want...
But I am also going to remind you,
Once I get it...
Just what I think of your acts,
Of attempting to prevent me...
From not having the kind of life,
To do as I please!

You must be nuts?
You've got to be!

The Hearts Filthy Lesson

Hearts filthy lesson
Hearts filthy lesson
Hearts filthy lesson
Theres always the diamond friendly
Sitting in the laugh hotel
The hearts filthy lesson
With her hundred miles to hell
Oh, ramona, if there was only something between us
If there was only something between us
Other than our clothes
Something in our skies
Something in our skies
Something in our blood
Something in our skies
Paddy
Paddy, whos been wearing mirandas clothes?
Its the hearts filthy lesson
Hearts filthy lesson
Hearts filthy lesson
Falls upon deaf ears
Its the hearts filthy lesson
Hearts filthy lesson
Hearts filthy lesson
Falls upon deaf ears
Falls upon dead years
Oh ramona, if there was only some kind of future
Oh ramona, if there was only some kind of future
And these cerulean skies
Something in our skies
Something in our skies
Something in our blood
Something in our skies
Paddy, paddy?
Paddy will you carry me, I think Ive lost my way
Im already five years older Im already in my grave
Im already
Im already
Im already
Will you carry me?
Oh paddy, I think Ive lost my way
Paddy
What a fantastic death abyss
Paddy
What a fantastic death abyss
Its the hearts filthy lesson
Tell the others
Its the hearts filthy lesson
What a fantastic death abyss
Tell the others
Its the hearts filthy lesson
Paddy
What a fantastic death abyss
Its the hearts filthy lesson
Tell the other

Squirrel (Acrostic)

Squirrel, shy by nature,
Quickness in its gesture,
Undulating with speed,
Influenced by greed,
Raking to make nest,
Rushing for maple harvest,
Eating acorn and nuts dispersed,
Long furry tail remains curled.

I Peep on You

I peep on you
When you say
You don’t love me
I saw your rose pulps

I peep on you
I saw you rested your love
On the bowl

I peep on you
I saw your barbaric tits waving
Water dripping from there
Right to your squirrel

I peep on you
I saw your squirrel
Wet but breathing
Seems like in hunger
For partner

I peep on you
When you say
You don’t love me
I saw your beautiful face
As horny
As your squirrel

Financial Counseling

Don't you find it remarkable,
That those you labelled undesirable...
With a moving away from them decades ago,
Are now the ones most qualified...
To purchase your foreclosed home?
And you and the others,
Were booted out of most of them.
While from other homes,
They seem to be taking their time moving in.

'I thought you were here to provide me with,
Financial counseling.
Not teach me history.
I wish not to hear none of this.
With a lesson you believe I need to get.'

You are right.
Forgive me for that 'over zealous' insight.
I just thought in providing you financial counseling...
Being aware of 'your' history,
Might avoid you making similar judgement calls...
In your future.

We Just Go Nuts At Christmastime

Up the driveway, down the walk
Oh, janets hair is like her moms
Whos got her own, but acts like somethings
Different from the eyebrows up
Seems like only yesterday
Our d-i-v-o-r-c-e
I love you both and yuletide is pure
H-e-double-l for me
And we just go nuts at christmastime
Thats when everything falls apart
We just go nuts at christmastime
But its another year before were together again
Hi, this is john of they might be giants
As youre driving down the highway at 100 miles an hour with your head wagging out the window,
We urge you, please, put down the phone
We just go nuts at christmastime
Thats when everything falls apart
We just go nuts at christmastime
But its another year before were together
Again

Little Acorns

Take all your problems
And rip em apart
Carry them off
In a shopping cart
And another thing
You shouldve known from the start
The problems in hand
Are lighter than at heart
Be like the squirrel, girl
Be like the squirrel
Give it a whirl, girl
Be like the squirrel
And another thing
You have to know in this world
Cut up your hair
Straighten your curls
Well, your problems
Hide in your curls

Squirrel Died Today

A squirrel died today on the street,

I tried to save him but he was already beat.

Beaten down to the ground by a car,

going fast and going far,

hitting the squirrel who was squashed on the tar,

squirrel could barely walk for he had a scar.

Please slow down,

Speeding cars kill,

killing innocent animals that

live on the hill.

Stop for birds, ducks and squirrels too,

what if that was your kid-

Wouldn’t you feel blue?

Slow, slow down for there is animals

living all around,

they want to make it to their homes.

Hetuaght me a lesson

He said he was going to
teach me a lesson.
I needed to no some things.

The lesson was rape.
But he said it was a game.
He said I had to learn sometime.

When he'd finished.
He smiled and said.
This happens to
Stupid little girls
All the time.
I was only teaching you a lesson.

If it was a lesson to learn
It was one well tuaght.
Be weary of who you trust.

For you never can
Read people like a book.
If you could
The world would be safe.

It was a lesson hard learned.
One that still remains today.
Its a lesson that effects me still.

I only wish I could
Of turned and run.

Only when your young
Like that you dont
Really understand.
If I did
I would of ran.
A thousand miles a way.
Out of reach.
And out of harms way.

Song--Autumn

When nuts behind the hazel-leaf
Are brown as the squirrel that hunts them free,
And the fields are rich with the sun-burnt sheaf,
'Mid the blue cornflower and the yellowing tree;
And the farmer glows and beams in his glee;

O then is the season to wed thee a bride!
Ere the garners are filled and the ale-cups foam;
For a smiling hostess is the pride
And flower of every Harvest Home.

SONG On: Animal Love

There lived a girl called Lovina,
Whose animal-love was great;
Tall, she was and so much lean, ah!
She sang songs for a treat.

She had a sister, with whom she fought,
Right from her child-hood days!
Both were aged, a year’s diff’rence;
And so they fight-her mother says.

She did her home-work, in a short time,
Dreamt while her mother cooks!
In argument, she was so good,
And loved to read animal-books.

Once there fell down, a small Squirrel,
As she stood ‘neath a Mango-tree;
She laid it gently in a box,
The Squirrel-babe was no more free!

She fed the Squirrel, fruit and nut,
And lullabied it to a sleep;
The baby Squirrel loved her much,
Their friendship grew so deep.

She sang to it and fondled it,
And talked to it whenever free;
She kept it cosy, neat and clean;
Her holidays, went off in glee!

One day, the Squirrel fell so ill;
Perhaps, it thought of its mother!
So, you must set the Squirrel free;
Her doctor-uncle advised her.

With Squirrel ill, her heart turned sad,
Poor Lovina, could not sleep well;
For long, she kept awake and cried;
Was the Squirrel ill ‘cause it fell?

The poor girl prayed, all night and day;
She prayed to God to make it well;
And wished, she could become a fay!
Her life now seemed to look like hell!

She kissed her Squirrel, one more time;
Her Uncle let it up a tree;
The Squirrel squeaked and wagged its tail;
And jumped with joy, away, afree!
Lovina too now wept with joy;
Her pet-Squirrel seemed quite alright!
Her heart leapt like the Squirrel, Boy!
Her Uncle’s words were quite correct.

But Lovina missed her Squirrel;
She visited the Mango-tree;
She hopes to meet her pet some day,
Her friend, never turned up to see!

Ye love your God through animals!
Ye love thy sister first, then else;
Man hath a soul, animals don’t,
“Love thy neighbour, ”the Poet tells!

specially dedicated to my neice Rubina, an animal-lover herself, a true incident in her life!
