Where I Remain Dreaming
When the lions germinate they are asleep:
The airplanes are silver quarters in the arcade of cerulean sky:
And this is south Florida, or this an arcade:
And the lights are out, but the power lines, like camels,
Are still good for something:
And the canals form a safety grid so that the afterlife of
Crocodiles doesn’t flood in and disturb our Christmas;
And I don’t know what better words to use
To become the special place of fawning reptiles: If you are not
Around to receive this attention, then make sure to garland yourself
And your daughter in the sweet shade;
For it was never my intention to vulgarize you in the salt-lick plane:
Yes, I have been up the backside of so many mountains,
I have effervesced with blue collar legs from the insouciant of
Ice-cream shops of tourism;
And now why don’t you serve rum, or why haven’t you become
The better iconoclast of my sleepless harem:
Why don’t you turn off the lights and become brail:
Why are you still starving me with empty lunch pales you use to
Build sand castles when you know the tide is coming in,
And your cousins the mermaids will soon be sautering with firemen
And the better licks of the green flames of fireworks:
I don’t know what it means to be, for I am yet still in the last stages of
High school and you are the captain of the soccer team:
And I have never seen your house let alone your bedroom; and yet
Those very same orange groves is where I remaining dream.

The Great Defender
Down at the arcade the defender is there
Down off of broadway he's there playing his games
It's very dangerous
Putting money down on robotron
Oh, i'm the great defender
And i really know just how to get along
Down at the arcade, down at the arcade
Down at the arcade, down at the arcade
Down at the arcade
Down at the arcade
Oh, i'm the great defender
And i really think i've got it made
A fistful of quarters, a fifty dollar stake
Life is a gamble on video tape
I called a disc jockey
To dedicate a song to blair
It's the temps. singing "i'll be there"
Down at the arcade, down at the arcade
Down at the arcade, down at the arcade
Down at the arcade
Down at the arcade
Oh, i'm the great defender
And i really think i've got it made
The president called to give me the news
I've been awarded the nobel price in rhythm and blues
And stevie wonder
Wants to record one of my songs
Oh, i'm the great defender
And i really know just how to get along
Oh, i'm the great defender, listen to my song
I really hope you like it, it isn't very long
It's rooted in the 50s
But its heart's in 1984

Then i sing it for you once more

Penny Arcade
(sammy king)
A light shown in the night some way ahead, blue turned into green then it was red
And stirring the night love music played the light I saw in the night was a penny arcade
Hey step up and play each machine seemed to say,as I walked round and round the penny arcade
Just ring the bell on the big bagatelle and youll make all those colored lights cascade
And music played at the penny arcade, yes it played and it played, played all the time
Roll up and spend your last dime
At first I thought it a dream that I was in, lost, lost in a sea of glass and tin
But no, so dipping my hand in the back of my jeans I grabbed a handful of coins to feed the machine
Repeat chorus
Oh! repeat chorus
Roll up and spend your last, roll up and spend your last,
Roll up and spend your last dime

Turn Some More Lights On
Roy orbison
Turn some more, turn some more
Turn some more lights on
Turn some more, turn some more
Turn some more lights on
I came by your house last night
I was feeling so blue
We didnt have a date
I was lonely for you
I walked all the way
To break my heart in two
I saw the lights turned way down low
Oh, someone else was kissing you
Turn some more, turn some more
Turn some more lights on
Turn them all, turn them all
Turn them all back on
Make him leave, make him leave
Make him leave, leave you alone
Im standing in the rain
See you there with him
Oh theres so much pain
See the lights so dim
I see you smile that same old smile
In that same old way
But you smiled, you smiled, you smiled at me
Oh yesterday, yesterday
Turn some more, turn some more
Turn some more lights on
Turn them all, turn them all
Turn them all back on...

Furnished And Burnished
My feet beat a rhythm across the Shopping Arcade floors,
and in through the swinging doors.
Up speeding lifts, to counters packed with attractive goods
and gifts.
Now, making straight for the place where there is glamour
for the face, one spies lipsticks by the score, so many
shades that one cannot but adore.
I must buy more.
That concealing blemish cream which smoothes on like a dream,
Is a must. They still stock it, I trust.
Eyebrow pencil in colour ‘blonde’, which just has to be donned,
and mascara in black.
I think I’m on the right track.
Some shadow for the eyes too, in gold, brown, silver, or blue.
It’s so reflective and so effective.
My countenance is now furnished and burnished. Such finesse.
And now I have to confess, that I am ready
to launch a new me, with a new philosophy.
So with my shopping complete, my feet retreat and beat
a rhythm across the Shopping Arcade floors,
and out through the swinging doors.

Pefect girl - visit me in your dreams
Run away with me tonight
This lasts forever all it seems
That your not real to me
I don't care
Chrystal clear - I see your face
And I know you see me too
You look at me
My heart is race
Not even real yet
I fall for you
Do you seem so real to me
Just my dream - my fantasy
Mean nothing it all
A vision in my mind
I don't care
I don't know
I don't care
The lights are off when we're alone
(Yes, we were talking on the phone)
I'm still asleep kickin' in my sheets, yeah.
The lights are off when we're alone
(Yes, we were talking on the phone)
I'm still asleep kickin' in my sheets
For you
Waited for you
You never came
Lying away alone in bed
Yet you have changed
I'm still the same
Your promises were in my head
Do you seem so real to me
I couldn't see
Nothing it all
A vision in my mind
I don't care
I don't know
I don't care
The lights are off when we're alone
(Yes, we were talking on the phone)
I'm still asleep kickin' in my sheets, yeah
The lights are off when we're alone
(Yes, we were talking on the phone)
I'm still asleep kickin' in my sheets
For you
And only you
The lights are off when we're alone
(Wish we were talking on the phone)
The lights are off when we're alone
(Wish we were talking on the phone)
The lights are off
The lights are off
The lights are off when we're alone
(Wish we were talking on the phone)
Please turn the lights on
The lights are off when we're alone
(Wish were talking on the phone)
I'm still asleep kickin' in my sheets, yeah
The lights are off when we're alone
(Yes, we were talking on the phone)
The lights are off
The lights are off
The lights are off when we're alone
(Wish we were talking on the phone)
Please turn the lights on

Mount Vernon & Fairway-theme
There was a mansion on a hill
But deep in a secret kingdom
Where a young prince lived
He had four sisters and four brothers
The prince had a special bedroom on the ground floor
With a window that looked down into a deep deep forest
He could see distant lights from other castles in the kingdom
From his window
During the day
He went to school
When it became night
He stayed by himself
Usually in his secret hidden bedroom
One night
While nearly everyone was asleep
He took out of the attic a radio
And he decided to listen to it

The Meat
Fibrillose like a centipede and counting backwards
From the laundry or the arcade,
Following the bred crumbs and the beer cans until your
Hair was yellow again.
And you were just a freshman emptied into his class
In a school that was just finding its legs,
While cicadas skipped themselves discardingly amidst
The over red blooms of the bromeliad
Outside by the archipelagos of landscaping where the
Bicycles hid
And the grass was mowed just as orderly as housewives
And they had firedrills that took you outside so you could
Be all by yourself until the pretty girl who played
Soccer who you would never make love with
Came over to occupy a space near you, both of you bared
To the sun- underneath an important sapling
Until you skipped school to go to Spain and Michigan,
And the fair came around selling you the caesuras of unnatural
Haunts that seem to give you angels, only to Indian give you
Back to yourself, until you became and echo
That resounded with the spent fireworks of an obsolete religion
Rising and dying repeatedly like an orchestra of red devils
Playing baseball and the meat of your own hand.

Christmas Lights
I hope I don't remember
that I was on the verge of tears when I wrote this
I hope I just remember
what I saw tonight
I drove by his house and I was so upset by it
I don't even believe it
there wasn't a stranger's car in the driveway
there wasn't anything that should have made me break down
just Christmas lights, shining bright, I wish someone had shielded my eyes
it reminded me how he moved on and I didn't, for so long
and if I've moved on, then why do I cry whenever I hear one of our songs?
why did the Christmas lights make me want to burn his house down?
because last Christmas I was in that house
I was laughing in that house
but this year when I pull into my driveway
no one's laughing
because no one's there
I'm starved for love
and it feels so good to say
now I've identified the problem
now I know it can't be solved
I think I finally discovered
why I hate Christmas lights.

Where Your Gold is Buried
No honey on the lake of concrete:
A yard of concrete costs a buck, and you can
Cover all of the beautiful vineyard
For a penny,
And the entire hills will roll like a marble
Arcade,
But I still wish I was in Colorado,
Stealing a beautiful mother,
Going to get laid;
And I loved- I loved a bird.
I loved a salamander, so long I loved:
Atop the apexes of rotting houses,
I loved,
Alone: Mermaids and naked creatures undressed
Of exoskeletons,
Screaming for the pot and without guns or
Belt buckles;
And nothing but the night is still waiting for me,
And the swings are waiting to take me nearer
The pine trees’ ankles,
While a housewife in South Africa loves me,
And I her:
And I love the gentle tears you might shed if you
Ever thought to climb high enough to get to
Where I’ve been,
Sharon,
Riding the narrow gauge backs of slender trains,
Sharon,
Because you are the only good muse I know,
And I want to make love to you inside blue tents,
While hiding a lamp close to your
Choreographed backside as it leaps like a fairytale,
Because I am mystified by every river of your being,
And I most earnestly wish to know
Where your gold is buried.

Sweet Lew
power high, power low
you can take 'em all to school
you can fly, wilt the stilt had nothing on you
lambchops and afro-do, milwaukee bucks and a barbecue
#33 just like you
sweet lew, how could you?
sweet lew, makin' me blue
a laker trade their bobby-d for a house, a crew by the sea
a little help from 32, showtime, and worthy
those were the days, pre-investment spree
sweet lew, is it true?
sweet lew, how could you?
i grew up trying to copy you, bruce lee, and a kung-fu
acta jazzman, yogi too
little did i know, a loose screw
but you had your own shoe
build him high, build him tall, a taiku with a basketball
tear 'em down, one and all
7'2" is a long way to fall
sweet lew, how's the view?
sweet lew, how could you?

Into An Eager Morning Sun
Pollinating an instrument beside the
Bus stops,
While the fireworks worm in the overgrowth:
The silvery airplanes leap frog
Over the moon who is beginning to grow blind-
Like all the gods over their breakfast
An empty shell-
An empty grotto: the virgins fed upon, and now
All a cloistered in the barnacles-
Raped and nude,
Blushing wounds that sting in the tide:
The housewives shudder like fish in a glass sea-
The mermaids take the bribes of sand dollars-
An apiary bleeding golden sweat
The fish enjoy with their lips of haloes
Until they douse like pinwheels in her beds that
Separate
And disappear up into an eager morning sun.

Night was coming
Night was coming
with a piercing huge orange sun
breaking through
white and black clouds
in the west.
It found a gap
and the sun was hanging
like a orange ball
above the street
and it was blinding.
Cars passed barely visible
above the orange glare
and some had already
turned their lights on.
The sun dipped down
below some trees
and for a time
it glowed behind them
and soon it would be dark
and the first stars
were already appearing
and a full yellow moon
was rising,
but below bright lights
was already burning
right across the city
in colours of amber
streetlights
green, yellow and red
traffic lights,
blue lights flashing
on police cars
and almost every bright colour
caught on neon signs
while people came and went
to different destinations
some smiling and relaxed,
others in a hurry
and some others
locked in a world of their own.

Christmas Reunion
Christmas is only 10 days away
For most of us Christmas is just like any day of life
9 to 5 working but nothing can stop them make Christmas
The special day and reunion
Miss seeing whole family together throughout the whole year
The beautiful loving thought of buying presents to the loved
Make it a special Merry Christmas Reunion
Heart beating with joyful reunion
Kitchen with food and drinks smells this special day
House decorated with Christmas tree
Sparkling lights with all colourful presenting hanging
Each presenting represents the colourful joy in life
Family reunion is so beautiful like the rainbow upon sky
Christmas Reunion, do not leave a chair empty
Wish all family reunion

Christmas Without You
Christmas without you
White christmas and Im blue
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you
The fireplace keeps burning and my thoughts keep turning
The pages of memories of time spent with you
Old christmas songs we knew and used to make love to
Make it hard to get used to
Christmas without you
Christmas without you
White christmas and Im blue
I love you I miss you
So sad but so true
Christmas without you
Like a mystery with no clues
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you
The sweetest gift I know would be if the new snow
Could fall on your footsteps on this christmas eve
The most joyous christmas if luck could be with us
Would be if saint nicholas brought you home to me
Christmas without you
White christmas and Im blue
I love you I miss you I need you
So sad but so true
Like a mystery with no clues
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you

All Of My Memories
This song appears on two albums, and was first released on the Aerie Album, and has also been released on The Country Roads Collection Album.
All of my memories lay in the life of the highway
All of my nights in old motels a sleepin alone
All of my days on the road with no one beside me
All of my dreams of a place that I can call home
Somewhere in the shade near the sound of a sweet singin river
Somewhere in the sun where the mountains make love to the sky
Somewhere to build me a faith, a farm and a family
Somewhere to grow older, and somewhere a reason to try
Cause Im tired of big cities and so tired of big city ways
Scrathin off sunset, and walkin around in the maze
Some sweet taxi dancer tryin to save me from bein alone
Ah its much worse than lonely there is no place that I really belong
I want to be home
Im leavin this city life In my mind Im flyin away
Im leavin tomorrow and all of the old yesterdays
Im leavin the trash cans the bright lights of telephone lines
Im leavin my sorrows of all of my memories behind
Ill see what I find
Somewhere in the shade near the sound of a sweet singin river
Somewhere in the sun where the mountains make love to the sky
Somewhere to build me a faith, a farm, a family
Somewhere to grow older, and somewhere a reason to try
Somewhere to grow older, somewhere to laydown and die

Bright Lights, Pink Car
Tornado rush of luminescence
Happiness is hard to find
Unless you've got a sweet new Kia
Then you're sitting inside.
It's got power steering and power locks
Power wheels and power shocks
A horn that makes the mountains move
It's a spacious hatchback too.
Cruising around the county roads
I turn on the brights.
I can see for miles
In these blue halogen lights.
When the speedometer passes sixty
I buckle my seat belt.
God bless the South Koreans
This is the best I ever felt.

Let It Be Christmas
Let it be Christmas everywhere
In the hearts of all people
Both near and afar
Christmas everywhere
Feel the love of the season where ever you are
On the small country roads
Lined with green mistletoe
Big city streets where a thousand lights glow
Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing
Let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
And let it be Christmas, Christmas everywhere
Let it be Christmas everywhere
With the gold and the silver, the green and the red
Christmas everywhere
In the smiles of all children asleep in their beds
In the eyes of young babies
Their first fallen snow
The elderly's memories that never grow old
Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing
Let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
And let it be Christmas, Christmas everywhere
Let it be Christmas everywhere
In the songs that we sing
And the gifts that we bring
Christmas everywhere
In what this day means
And what we believe
From the sandy white beaches
Where blue water rolls
Snow covered mountains and valleys below
Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing
Let every bell ring

Miss A La Cream
Waiting is worth the while
Miss A La cream, a la cream
The lady of magnificent style
The woman of many a mans dream
A natural born striker
Every man in turn likes her
The queue up in flashy little cars
It doesn’t get them really any far
Miss A La cream, a la cream
The lady of posh self-esteem
At day, she’s in the sauna wrapped in towels
At day she’s at the hairdressers draped in jewels
At night, she can be found at many a brothel
But don’t you ever ask, what is a vowel?
But don’t you ever attempt to make her to spell
Natural yellow, gold and blonde
With an exquisite scent from beyond
A La cream, a la cream
She can pander a whole football team
Up in the mountains or down by the streams
When she walks the street with her heels
Mouths open, hearts relentlessly dream
Notwithstanding her heart is stronger than steel
That’s why she is Miss A la cream, A la cream
