La Casta
Written by N. Cole and L. Williams
Picture yourself on the sea of a setting sun
The salty air and the taste of your lover's hair
Inside you want to fly
Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi
Come to the magical mist where the oceans kissed
A thousand kisses or more on the sandy shore
And never says goodbye
Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi
Ooh, La Costa, ooh
Ooh, La Costa, ooh
Come feel the warm of the breeze as the swaying trees
Caress the velvety skies like a whisper telling you to come and fly
Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi
Musical Interlude
Run with the wind at your side let it set you free
I'll watch the sun in your eyes as the seagulls fly
Along this lover's isle
Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi
You are my love and my life, you're my everything
You calm the sea of my soul oh so tenderly
It makes me very high
Ah, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi
Ooh La Costa, wee, ooh, wee
Ooh La Costa, ooh
Picture yourself on the sea...
Come feel the warm of the breeze..
La Costa....

Beaches
South Padre Island,
Ranks among the best.
South Beach,
And those along Key West...
Are favorite beaches,
I am blessed to have witnessed.
Long Beach and along the Pacific Coast...
Breathtaking are these scenic views,
With a temptation to remove one's shoes!
And the cruiseway connecting Tampa and Clearwater...
Ought to be outlawed for providing too much beauty!
And Ogunquit needs to stop it!
It's magnificence really is an eye popper!
Cape Cod and Pebble Beach.
I've tossed and turned...
Thinking about them in my sleep!
These beaches that grace our wonderful shores...
Should be visited for their exquisiteness.
If anyone believes,
Their lives are boring beyond their doors.
There is so much to explore and see.
Just sitting quietly on these beaches...
And letting one's imagination stretch and reach!
Like the cresting of the waves...
Massaging the sands.
As Seagulls dip for fish,
While the lilting fingers felt from breezes...
Display a coolness beneath Sun rays,
Quickly drying ocean mist!

Autumn Leaves
From green to yellow
Singing tunes so mellow
They're falling down the ground
Spreading music around.
They' ve relished the Summer days
Hosting hot sun rays
Witnessing melodies at night
Dwelling in everyone's heart.
They' ll be scattered around
By the Autumn winds blown
But their trees stand still
Until the next year's blossoming will.

Island In The Sun
The palm trees sway
under a warm Mediterranean breeze
as we lay on a golden beach somewhere,
dreaming that you and I could be,
castaways on an island in the sun.
Blue waters kissing the beach
beneath our feet
as we walk hand in hand
in the sand at sunset time.
The world a million miles away,
never to bother us anymore.
What a lovely dream,
to be washed up on that shore,
you and I for evermore.

Landscapes Of The Mind
Thoughts travelling across lanes of joy
Leave footprints of cheerfulness
Speaking to us in a quietness
We'd love forever to enjoy.
Thoughts journeying through avenues of wisdom
Remain modest, serene, kind
Telling us lofty stories of a kingdom
Through landscapes of the mind.

Port Fairy By The Sea
For culture and hospitality it has won renown
Port Fairy by the ocean a famous old Town
To it's famous music festival that is held once a year
People from all Nations they come from far and near
Those who visit there for a seaside holiday
Of beautiful Port fairy have only nice things to say
The locals so friendly, warm and free of care
And with coastal views where beauty has never been rare
Nature's coastal beauty is everywhere to see
In beautiful Port Fairy where the land meets the sea
Most of the people who live there are hospitable and kind
As near a place to an Earthly Utopia as one would wish to find
With no signs of pollution in the clear ocean sky
And the oystercatchers above the beach sing as they fly

Port Fairy In Spring
In Port Fairy by the ocean nesting birds chirp and sing
On a sunny day in early September in the early Spring
In a lovely old place on a beautiful day
The Spring is in town for her annual three months stay
In the home gardens and parklands shrubs and trees and flower beds in their flowers
And the coastal lands green after recent Spring showers
In Victoria Spring is such a lovely time of the year
And with each passing day warmer weather is near
The mud nesting magpie larks call out pee wee all day
From Utopia Port Fairy does not seem far away
Near Griffith Island one can hear the ocean's loud din
As the big waves at high tide to the beach rumbles in
In the old coastal town for it's beauty well known
Port Fairy it does have a charm of it's own.

Consolation
How great it is not to be going
to Zimbabwe this summer
not having to go through
a packed border post,
the ruins that’s left of her cities,
or visiting friends on their farms,
since they have all being driven away.
No need to hunt for petrol
from fuel station to fuel station,
no need to find your way
through a crowd of hungry children
and no need to feel guilty
because you have food
and a car and a place called home.
There’s no Victoria falls here,
no Zimbabwe ruins built from rock,
no Kariba lake to live in a boat on,
no great Zambezi to white river raft on
and no need to be afraid
because you are white.
How much better to take the familiar highway
past Durban down to Margate
or to go somewhere on the South coast
and not to study outdated maps
of the unknown to find a place
called Mana pools
on a dirt track
in the middle of the veldt.
How much better to eat in great
familiar restaurants,
that does not charge in US dollars
and to holiday
right next to the big blue ocean
and to tan on a choice of beaches.
Robert Mugabe can have his whole damn country,
even if he’s not the chosen leader
as long as he keeps
his population there,
but everywhere I look
there’s Zimbabwean aliens appearing
out of the blue
and even on a lovely beach
a Zimbabwean girl
swims in panties and a bra
or walks without any.

Beautiful North Berwick
North Berwick is a watering-place with golfing links green,
With a fine bathing beach most lovely to be seen;
And there's a large number of handsome villas also,
And often it's called the Scarborough of Scotland, as Portobello.
The greatest attraction is Tantallon Castle, worthy of regard,
About three miles distant to the eastward;
Which in time of war reoeived many a shock,
And it's deemed impregnable and built on a perpendicular rock
The castle was built in times unknown to history,
But 'tis said it belonged to the Douglas family;
And the inside is a labyrinth of broken staircases,
Also ruined chambers and many dismal places.
Then there's the Berwick Law Hill, 612 feet high,
Which no doubt is very attractive to the eye,
And skirted with a wood and a public walk,
Where visitors can enjoy themselves and have a social talk.
The wood is really lovely and enchanting to be seen,
In the spring or summer season when the trees are green;
And as ye listen to the innocent birds singing merrily there,
'Twill help to elevate your spirits and drive away dull care.
Then near by Tantallon is the fishing village of Canty Bay,
Where boats can be hired to the Bass Rock, about two miles away;
And the surrounding scenery is magnificent to see,
And as the tourists view the scene it fills their hearts with glee.
Then away! then away! pleasure-seekers in bands,
And view Gullane with its beautiful sands,
Which stretch along the sandy shores of Fife,
Where the tourist can enjoy himself and be free from strife.

A Song of Joy
From the top of the mountains
We breathed the pure air
Enjoying the stunning, awe-inspiring views,
That stretched around there.
Coming down to the green valley
We got involved in the breeze around,
And walked by the little brook
Singing together melodious sounds.
The sweet scent of flowers and bushes
Accompanied us all the way long
Allowing for a quiet reflection,
In stillness and love,
Away from the throng.

Dawn
Dawn.
On a night beach in Costa Rica,
behind me the light of Puerto Lemon.
A white strip of sand held an ocean,
a black towering mountain,
from drowning the land.
I was what I saw, timeless.
And the world whispered in my ears.
The sky paled, a cooling sea breeze caressed me
and it was dawn.

Beautiful Port Fairy
The air is so clean of pollution 'tis free
In Port Fairy the beautiful Town by the sea
With little development it's old charm it retain
You visit it once you will come back again.
They have a huge music festival there once a year
And to it music lovers come from far and near
Musicians from every Land entertain on every street
For three days Port Fairy the place where all cultures do meet.
From Britain and Ireland and Italy and France
The lovers of culture they sing and they dance
Musicians from Africa, Germany, Brazil and Spain
Arrive for the big weekend come sunshine or rain.
Of beautiful Port Fairy 'twould be fair to say
That Utopia from it cannot be far away
It's beautiful beaches the clean ocean air
So few places with it can hope to compare.
The Norfolk pine trees there five or six decades old
One might say a beautiful sight to behold
Just part of Port Fairy's charm and it does seem to me
That Utopia is near to this Town by the sea.

Time Rules Carved Out Empire Journeys
Darius I of Persia earlier standout stars;
having attacked conquered Ancient Egypt
built a canal linking his Persian Red Sea?
To the Mediterranean through desert sands;
Darius's canal wide enough for two triremes
to pass each other with all oars extended?
Required mere four days to canal traverse;
history turns Persian Roman Empires are extinct?
No Eastern Roman Empire now time rules?
