Haute Couture

The newest craze in the World
The very latest in High Fashion
Has been introduced by New Designers
Who go by the names of: Forgiving
And Compassion

Brought before the eyes of the Nouveau Riche
And all the style Fashionista's
The stir is catching on
Across all past opined vista's

This is but the latest trend
Compassion and his friend Forgiving
They are giving Donatella Versace a run
For her money
As many lean towards this new way of living

So watch out Dolce and Gabanna and
Giorgio Armani
Rumor has it it Victoria Beckham and
Katie Holmes
Now embrace the Two
I am sure that it won't be long 'til
They will be your designers too

I know fashion
Models posing, critics complaining,
Celebs shopping, paparazzi stalking
I know fashion
Perfume scents fill the air, bling-bling glistens everywhere,
Cameras flash here and there, diet pills popped everywhere
I know fashion

“The camera loves ya! ”, “Let’s go Shopping! ”

The Last Supper

They are assembled, astonished and disturbed
round him, who like a sage resolved his fate,
and now leaves those to whom he most belonged,
leaving and passing by them like a stranger.
The loneliness of old comes over him
which helped mature him for his deepest acts;
now will he once again walk through the olive grove,
and those who love him still will flee before his sight.

To this last supper he has summoned them,
and (like a shot that scatters birds from trees)
their hands draw back from reaching for the loaves
upon his word: they fly across to him;
they flutter, frightened, round the supper table
searching for an escape. But he is present
everywhere like an all-pervading twilight-hour.

[On seeing Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper", Milan 1904.]

Clothes and jewellery should be startling, individual. When you see a woman in my clothes, you want to know more about them. To me, that is what distinguishes good designers from bad designers.

I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-market fashion is very modern - wearing head-to-toe designer has become a bit passe. It's a new era in fashion - there are no rules. It's all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together.

At the opera in Milan with my daughter and me, Needleman leaned out of his box and fell into the orchestra pit. Too proud to admit it was a mistake, he attended the opera every night for a month and repeated it each time.

Bindu. [A poem in Hindi]

Ik roop naino se man mein uttra
Mano dooor kshitij par ik madham sa bindu ubhara
Dhire dhire meri aur badha
Bindu bana ik chand
Roop ne karvat li
Hua chand se pyar
Tab hua milan
Ik madhur milan
Ik sukhad milan
Mano do aatmain samaa gai hoon jismain
Tab samay ki dhara baha ley gai
Milan ke is sukh ko
Asha hi jeevan
Bindu kitna chota sa par kitna mahaan.

Mona Lisa Who Carries Our Smile

why did mona lisa
become famous?
it's because she
smiles for us

a smile that has
come out
of our system
so real, so smooth
an innocent smile wrung
from all our heart's

leonardo, well leonardo
his colours carry our nerves
that pull the eventual smile
he has seized the moment
and portrayed what is in us in
the most eloquent fashion

so true to the heart
not a stroke from the
wrong side of our elation nerves

Mrs 'Fashion Queen

Oh Mrs fashion queen
humor me,
in telling me of days
where all that you ever dream
is matching the green and grays
but Mrs fashion queen
what does fashion mean?
is it something you can explain?
cause last time i checked
it didn't mean wearing that same thing everyday

Clothes, clothes everywhere
'oh chick check out my style! '
but honey you look as if you just
got rescued from the wild
'Oh tatyana please stop,
you'll hurt the girls feeling! '
Well it's for her better good
this girl needs some fashionable healing
So before you decide to blink
why don't you stop and think
Oh Mrs 'Fashion Queen'
C'mon everybody take a peak!

Being the Monna Lisa. Exclusive.

If you think it would be fun to be famous,
sit in for me for a day. And be cured.

Fame...builds you up
then drains you.

‘Celebrity’ – the very word
has built-in obsolescence..

then you have to appear in
cheap TV shows to keep it up..

At least back in Milan
we knew what mattered and what didn’t.

So I sit here all day, have my eyes damaged
by cell-phone flash;

but worst of all - the faces;
gawping gormless.

At least when you’re a film star
you know what they want from you:

your fame, your handsomeness, your beauty,
your wealth, your power over men or women;

with me, they don’t know what they want:
who wants a mysterious smile for themselves?

I’m just a package with the Eiffel Tower;
the Taj Mahal of France.

Faces, idiot faces. All day long.
I’m drained by evening, long for pasta.

If Len were still around, I’d ask
to have him paint dark glasses on.

And BTW, I didn’t look like this
when he first painted me..

all the first mothers in Milan
knew exactly what was on my mind

all those hours in the studio; yes,
the rest was nice during pregnancy;

you think of how it’s going to be;
your hopes for him.. or her..; how it will turn out;

how stable the Italian state will be;
who’ll be ruling Milan then..

every pregnant girl knows
exactly what my smile meant;

but after all these years of being stared at, it's gone
sad; withdrawn; but half-forgiving –

it means – I’ve had enough…
steal me, someone! Len, love –

for holy Botox’ sake -
give me a nip-and-tuck..

the price of fame was ever
far too high; and you may quote me.

Cathedral Spires

They have blown away the daylight hours we had
Left a leagcy, a deadly aftermath
We cannot exist in godforsaken lands
As we spiral down into oblivion
Breathing the fumes of fires that they ignite
Losing ground and we are all just losing sight
We shall never see another setting sun
Time to rise up and ascend, the end has come
No more willpower
Choked by hell fire
Darkness above
Blackening out the sun
Gripped by steel claws
Corrosion eating us
So before were all devoured
Time to rise up and retire
In cathedral spires
Watching as the world expires
From up amongst the clouds
In cathedral spires
No names
No graves
No prayers
Can save us
Ashes to dust
Doomsdays upon us now
It cannot be stopped
Genocide all is lost
Oh! were so tired
Time to rise up and conspire
In cathedral spires
Watching as our world expires
From up above the clouds
In cathedral spires
Jaws of corruption
Swallow us as one
Consuming every nation
Evoke resistance getting none
Complete disintegration
No good to defend
There can be but one outcome
We are no more - ascend
Vaporized fury
Offers no sanctuary
Oh! were so tired
Time to rise up and retire
In cathedral spires
Watching as the world expires
From up amongst the clouds
In cathedral
In cathedral spires
Oh! were so tired
Watching the world expire
Time that we retire
Up in cathedral spires
Oh! were so tired
Watching the world expire
Time that we retire
Up in cathedral spires
Oh! were so tired
Watching the world expire
Time that we retire
Up in cathedral spires
Oh! were so tired
Watching the world expire
Time that we retire
Up in cathedral spires
