My shopping list.
I am going twice a week in the supermarket,
Always preparing beforehand my shopping list,
For example,
Eggs,
Semi-skimmed milk,
A clear consciousness, and
Two bottles of bourbon,
Fresh fruits, and not forget to buy,
Vegetables,
Self-confidence, and, let's see what more, maybe…
One fruit-juice carton, or perhaps two,
A yogurt with low fat,
Fulfillment and something else I have completely forgotten.

I do the cooking at home. Where we eat no more than 100 grams of meat a day and have 'tons' of fresh vegetables. I prepare the vegetables with a wide range of herbs, spices and such. We also keep on hand lots of fruit, yogurt and great breads.

Week In Week Out
IIs there something more?
Surely there must be
You can't lose everything
So you're quite happy
To live with nothing more
Than a life-long shopping list
You tick off on credit
Well you'll pay for it
Week in and week out
Your lucky charms will always let you down
Maybe next week, we'll see
Maybe
You stand in life completely still
Feel really truly unfulfilled
Week in week out
Where are you going to turn?
When all ambition fails?
Why try any more
If human nature's stale?
Invite the hand of God
To touch the lucky few
There's no such thing as God
Nor easy money too?
Week in and week out
These lucky charms will always let you down
Maybe next week, we'll see
Maybe
You stand in life completely still
Feel really truly unfulfilled
Week in week out
Week in and week out
Your lucky charms will always let you down
Maybe next week, we'll see
Maybe
You stand in life completely still
Feel really truly unfulfilled
Week in week out

Please stay away, our people have to survive!
A curd woman carries a pot of yogurt that drips on her moon forehead
The crystal white droplets drench the old soul, shouts, "yogurt,
Fresh yogurt, churned butter, anyone wants to buy? ",
Vegetable man pushes his cart, full of colorful vitamin vegetables,
Shouts as usual, "Vegetable, Vegetable, Green vegetables".
Fruits seller and fish monger carry their bounties in the baskets,
Pots, pans, spoons and brooms are sold on streets,
Sweat, tear, longing and desperation in discreet,
What place do the multinational whole sale retailer hit,
On the soil of poor people, where people live as dogs and cats.
Please stay away from us and we are not the good market,
as the habit of descendant will not let you see the profit.

The Ogre [2]
I had bought two-dozen eggs,
some baking soda, baking meal
along with the other groceries,
beef, chicken, lamb,
vegetables and fruit
and had forgotten
to buy icing sugar
on your command.
I carried the groceries
from the car
and placed them
in the pantry, the fridge,
or where ever they belonged.
You were baking cake
and preparing some cookies
and like a blizzard
went through the shopping bags
searching for items.
Demented, for me forgetting
icing sugar, the ogre
awakened in you
and I saw it peering
through your eyes.
First a glass mixing bowl
went flying to the ground
shattering into pieces of glass
and in shock fascination
I watch you
put a plastic bowl
on a red hot stove plate
before slamming it
right into my face.
I screamed in terror
and tried to wipe
sizzling molten plastic
from my forehead
and cheeks,
(thanking God you missed
my eyes) .
You screamed something
smashing the eggs on the floor
and then somehow
the ogre went back
to the cave
where it was hiding in you
and I knew
what the word maniac
in manic bipolar depression meant.

Supermarket Shopping
A pound in the slot and out comes the chain,
It's Saturday supermarket shopping again,
And so I've obtained my large wire trolley,
And when shopping, you certainly need loads of lolly!
The shelves will be stacked with goodies galore,
There are loads to be seen from ceiling to floor,
Things that we need and things for a treat,
Food to have cold and food you must heat.
Bright coloured fruit and vegetables are,
Good for your health and keep you up to par,
Bread, rolls and biscuits, crisps and savoury snacks,
On their own, or in multiple packs.
Cheeses and yogurts, cream, butter and milk,
Some with strong flavours and some smooth as silk,
Sauces and pickles, mustards and dips,
Bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms and chips.
What gorgeous thoughts the word 'food' conjures up,
Especially if you're hungry and you wish to sup,
The aromas and spices, and sweet things and sour,
Shortcrust and flaky pastries, both of which are made with flour.
All kinds of fish dishes like haddock and dab,
Sardine, pilchard, tuna, anchovy and crab,
Squid if you like, it is lovely when fried,
It's really delicious to eat, have you tried?
Salmon of course, is the best of the lot,
This is a fish you can serve cold or hot,
With a salad to garnish, the taste is divine,
It's really become a great favourite of mine.
Desserts are mouth watering, they just have to be bought,
From gateaux's with chocolate, or a raspberry torte,
Strawberry pavlovas, or nutty meringues.
Each and everyone of them will answer your pangs.
Bottles of wine, of red and of white,
Champagne to drink on that one special night,
Maybe a gin, a vodka or sherry,
But with all of this, you can soon become merry.
So reaching the 'cash out' you stand there and check,
On all that you've purchased, it's only a speck,
Of what was on offer, one could buy up the lot,
But most likely you're contented with what you have got.

Stopping Shopping
Aren’t we ever satisfied by shopping?
Just the thought of popping
Or, as some do, bopping
To the supermarket gets me hopping
Mad. Since my bag burst, popping,
When I was struggling, clopping
Home with the shopping
And distinctly dropping
And predictably plopping
Food on floors, with milk slopping
And smashed eggs dropping,
Making everywhere sopping
So it needed mopping
For, if I didn’t, they’d be stopping
There, where they’d be copping
Some unprintable whopping
Rude words that were popping
Out of my mouth. I’m lopping
Some out of this, not to offend topping,
Polite folk like you. And I’m chopping
And also quickly cropping
This poem short ’cos I’m flopping
With exhaustion. And I need propping
Up. So now I’m stopping -
Stupid shopping.

Forget Me Not
My friend, never
Forget, forgotten me,
Forget and be forgotten.
Never forget
Our friendship,
Our relationship,
Our partnership.
Never forget
Our hope,
Our inspiration,
Our courage,
Our confidence.
Forget me not,
When we live separately,
When we out of sight,
When we out of mind,
When we out of sanity.
Forget yet remember me,
Forget yet forgive me,
Forget yet pray for me,
Forget yet call me.
Please forget me not.
Not to forget,
Your friend,
Your dream and vision,
Your ambition and success.
Forget me not,
Forget the No,
Forget the Maybe,
Forget the should be.
Think not to forget,
Think to remember,
Think to feel,
Think to say.
Forget, forgotten,
All bad things,
All bad deeds,
But forget me not.

A Day Of Rest
The day of Rest.
Sunday morning
Rain shiny asphalt
Stillness sits beside me
I switch on the radio
Stillness disappears
Runs home and
Waits for me to return
Early Sunday shopping
Supermarket empty
Fruit& vegetables
Untouched.
I take my time
Back home stillness
Waits.

Shopping List
I saw them.
In a supermarket aisle.
Both wore a 'Somebody loves me'
Smile.
Constantly they hugged and kissed.
Had something
Not on my shopping list.

Happy hoot of a good day
Tomorrow is almost here,
gonna wait for it
and just relax for today.
Can you feel it,
tomorrow morning,
everything will be fun.
Going to go shopping for,
banana's, milk and orange juice.
Going to go buy something,
just for me to enjoy.
Pizza, oreo cookies, pancakes
and even a small bowl of pho soup.
Yum Yum!
I love tomorrow and shopping day.

Obsequey (The Death Of Art)
The ancient pharoahs were not too bright they say,
But they made one contribution that I live by to this day,
It's the food pyramid,
And its approved the USDA
Oh grains of the foundation,
So please take my advice,
Of five to eleven servings of bread, cereal or rice,
Three to five of vegetables,
And four fruits is best,
Their antioxidensty fiber help you to digest,
Three servings of yogurt, milk and cheese,
Will help your bones and subsidize the cattle industry
A body needs to grow,
And grow and take regimes,
Why meat can be a tasty treat,
Like fish or even beans
And when you eat your sweets,
Make sure you try,
To limit your servings,
Or you'll...
DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everybody!
My body is a pyramid that's made of healthy foods,
So do what we say,
(Yeah!)
Eat right every day,
(Food!),
I..... love...... you
Buy American!

Kiwi
Fruit without a stone, its shiny
pulp is clear green. Inside, tiny
black microdot seeds. Skin
the color of khakiImagine
a shaggy brown-green pelt
that feels like felt.
It's oval, full-rounded, kind
of egg-shaped. The rind
comes off in strips
when peeled with the lips.
If ripe, full of juice,
melon-sweet, yet tart as goose-
berry almost. A translucent ring
of seed dots looks something
like a coin-slice of banana. Grown
in the tropics, some stone
fruits, overlarge, are queerly
formed. A slablike pit nearly
fills the mango. I
scrape the fibrous pulp off with my
teeth. That slick round ball
in avocado (fruit without juice) we call
alligator pear:
Plant this seedpit with care
on three toothpicks over a glass
of water. It can come to pass
in time, that you'll see
an entire avocado tree.
Some fruits have stones, some seeds.
Papaya's loaded with slimy black beads.
Some seem seedlesslike quince
(that makes your tastebuds wince.)
Persimmon will
be sour, astringent 'until
dead ripe,' they say. Behind
pomegranate's leathery rind,
is a sackful of moist rubies. Pear,
cantaloupe, grapefruit, guava keep their
seeds hidden, as do raspberry, strawberry,
pineapple. Plum, peach and cherry
we know as fruits with big
seedstones. And fig?
Its graininess is seed. Hard to believe
is prickly durian. It's custard
sweetand smells nasty.
But there's no fruit as tasty,
as odd, or as funny
none
as fresh-off-the-vine New Zea-
land kiwi.

0011 Scrubbing Carrots
Every Friday, a happy smiling man
who says he’s a mixture of Spain, Trinidad and England
delivers a bag of organic vegetables
and a bag of organic fruit, and
it’s a bit like a child’s Christmas bran-tub adventure –
some strange vegetables I’ve never seen before
and would never have dared to buy;
or eat, if I found them growing in the garden…
but it’s worth it for the carrots alone –
they taste, well, OK, like carrots used to taste..
and each week, they come from a different grower, so
they arrive clean and smooth one week,
clotted with earth another, but
as Rilke might say, rich with carrot-ness..
and I clean them with a respect which they
and the sheer living greenness of the greens
and other vegetables naturally demand of me
so that vegetable-cleaning
which used to be a chore done with attention
only at half strength, is now something more -
and in this mood, almost overlooked small great miracles of life
just happen of themselves –
two weeks ago, I watched amazed
as my two hands of themselves
devised a new way of cleaning carrots –
the hands reversed their roles: left hand
now held the scouring pad, diagonally,
and the right hand spiralled the carrot
in the pad… and lo! those etched horizontal lines
of dirt were perfectly removed..
and the isness of the carrot
and the isness of its servant
were together one silent song
where, it seemed,
the forgotten met the remembered
and rejoiced.

A Tree's Fruit
Good fruit or bad fruit, a tree can only bear one,
This parable was taught by God's one and only Son.
First mentioned by John as a warning for the Pharisees to heed,
But being blind to The Truth, most of them would not believe.
Your life is the tree and your deeds are the fruit,
This is a simple analogy that it hard to dispute.
But the Pharisees who knew the Word and lived in the land,
Were rebuked by John the Baptist, as they didn't understand.
Christians need to produce fruit for the Lord and nothing less,
And all the fruit that we produce should be fruits of righteousness.
Our old nature will produce fruit that comes from the past,
Not only is this fruit bad, but it's the kind that won't last.
Not only is bearing good fruit The Lord's heart desire,
But trees that continue to bear bad fruit may be cast in the fire.
Within your own heart is where the good or bad fruit is stored,
And by your fruits men will know you, is made clear by The Lord.
The fruit of righteousness is a tree of life, was once said,
However, a tree that bears bad fruit may be eternally dead.
What fruit you produce is strictly your choice my dear friend,
And by this choice you will either be blessed or condemned.

Little Shopping List
Finding recipes,
List the ingredients on yellow lined paper,
Someones building,
A cake for another,
Hundreds and thousands and paper tins,
Underlined self raising flour.
I'd like to see the smile on her face,
When she realises the effort he makes,
I'd like to hear the laughter illuminate the place,
As they devour the cakes.
Little little shopping list,
What happiness you bring,
Little little shopping list,
Where have you been.

Tasteless life?
We eat
Fresh vegetables, fruits and drink
Clear crystal water,
How she cooked with ingredients
Feel the frgrance from a far!
But see the excrement and smell
Dark and fowl odour?

In the Fruit and Veg
Knocking you listen
to the sound
that a watermelon makes
to test if it is ripe
and I wipe the smile form my face,
trying to look sincere
and the whole of Fruit and Veg is filled
with shoppers, adoring ripe fruit and vegetables
crowding around some places with special offers
like a great vast congregation
gathered in the temple of a god
and tonight you will again
make your great fruit salad
with chopped and sliced mangoes,
papaw, sweet melon, some squeezed orange juice
and grapes
and maybe this afternoon
we will eat the watermelon
in the shade next to the swimming pool.
