Old Friends
I caught a glimpse of you and me today
Whilst walking through a park
Where two friends walked and talked
Under trees filled with laughter
When carefree we shared bad jokes
And pretended to be other people on the phone
I miss the prayers the love
The friend that never left me on my own
Who shared dreams and poetry
Who made minutes stretch into an hour and more
Who was always knocking on my door
Who listened to my tired relentless rhyme
Who forgave me for never being on time
And without looking consumed my terribly bad cooking
The holidays the photographs the arguments and fun,
It's twenty years and more,
Oh how I miss that knock upon my door!

Today, I miss you
Watching the people walking around
Counting their steps a hundred times
Here I am on a crowded street
Beyond the door of that high way
Searching for your smile
That I could not find
Today, I miss you
Just like what my heart says
Watching the traffic lights
And time stood still
Like dreaming of you a thousand times
Suddenly I do not hear a sound,
Only your name
I have frozen on a breeze of summer
Today, I miss you
That there is something missing
Walking on a windy park
Watching clouds climbing on a rainbow
And I am still waiting on a dust of memories
That I picture only on my mind
Today, I miss you
No words could I ever say
I need your smile that warm so bright
That I often see in my dreams
Today, I miss you
Like a music that sounds so sweet
But the song is incomplete something is missing
Maybe tunes yes its true
Notes and I guess are you?
It’s always you that I am singing about
You complete me
Like words and melody
I want to tell the things I have seen
I want to take you where I have been
The summer, the sky a wonderful day
And I wish you here with me
This time say that you will be mine
Today, I miss you
I really miss you, yes I do

I'll be knocking at deaths door
I will be knocking on the door
Knock knock knock
Knocking at deaths door
Begging to be let in.
I'm near to deaths door
An overdose
And slit wrists
Along besides me.
Knock knock
Please let me in
deaths door
Please open
Please let me in
I hate my life
I cant cope
I'm desperate
plase let me in
Deaths door has opened
Now I've left it all behind
I'm in deaths world
Im gone
Im free

I Miss Me
The girl I used to be
Bright eyed and all smiles
The laughter and joy of being a child
I miss the trees
The peace and tranquillity
I miss me
Spontaneous and impulsive
The girl I used to be
Before they decided to trap me
High on love and life for HIM
I yearn for the understanding we had
The closeness we shared
I miss knowing what YOU might have paved for me
I miss being surrounded by YOUR love
Falling asleep with beautiful thoughts
And waking up each morning, with a smile
I miss me, the girl I used to be
I miss being alive
The fun I used to be

Plaything
I've been through this before
I feel like walking out that door
If this is what love is then I don't want no more
Today you made me feel that I was nothing real
you took me and through me away
I am not a play thing, I'm simply wearing your ring.
I'm getting tired of the lies that you sing.
I been through all this before
I feel like walking out that door,
If this is love I don't want no more
I dreamed of you when I was a little girl
that you come in and change my world
Now I'm sitting her with my dreams out the door
Ive been through this all before
I feel like walking out the door
If this is love I don't want no more
Believe me I am strong I can live if your long
gone..
I will hurt for some time, but soon the pain will fade.
I will be fine!
Ive been through this all before
I feel like walking out the door
If this is love I don't want no more

Days In June
I miss our days in June
The smiles, jokes, and laughter
Anticipating upcoming days
Day and day after
I miss the feel of summer
The happiness we shared
When one of us would shout for help
And in seconds, we'd be there
I miss the members of our gang
And how each day went slow
Running to finally see each other
Smiles setting our faces aglow
I miss sitting in the shade
To cool down from the sun
Sharing stories and special moments
And always having fun
I miss the hugs that we exchanged
As our way of saying goodbye
But until tomorrow, there'd always be
That glossy look in our eyes
The summer separated us
I still wish to see you soon
And I wanted to take this time to tell you
I miss our days in June

I Miss You
(words & music by don h. sumner)
Still I recall all the good times together
The love we shared, the fun and the laughter
How I wish you could feel what my heart says tonight dear
I miss you and I wish you were here
Dreams that I had they lay broken in sorrow
The plans I made the hopes for tomorrow
If I could I would tell you Im lonesome tonight dear
Oh I miss you and I wish you were here
All through the night I will see memories passing
The way you looked the sound of your laughing
How I long for the touch of your hand holding mine dear
Oh I miss you and I wish you were here
Lord, I miss you and I wish you were here

Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere
Chorus:
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere,
Ill never forget what we shared.
Comes a day theres a knock on my door,
I hope that youll be standing there.
Ill wonder what youll say if we meet
On the street one day years from now.
Maybe youll need time to recall,
Oh, but I wont need anytime at all.
Now I guess weve come from circle
Cause were parting as friends.
Chorus
Love can make the tears in the rain,
And the brightest flame can fade away.
When you look into the eyes of a friend,
Theres a feeling in your heart that will never end.
After all the songs I sang you,
Theres no doubt in my mind.
Chorus
Another roads ahead of me, the night moves on.
This heart never lies, these tears in my eyes say carry on.
Chorus
Any day, any week, any month any year,
Ill never forget what we shared.
Comes a day theres a knock on my door,
I hope that youll be standing there.

Uh, this go out to my dog Kato
Rest in peace baby, it's a K thing
Dogs that I call my friends
Prayin for all my friends
Things I do for my friends
We miss you! Aiyyo Kato!
We started off, two dogs with the same goals (uh)
Nothin but two dogs walkin the same roads (uh)
Two different cultures, but had the same heart (yeah)
Enjoyed seeing the light, but lived in the dark
Dipped out and bumped heads in the parking lot (aight)
It was a quiet brother, didn't like to bark a lot
Came through wreck (uh), when he came, gained respect
So I gave respect (uh), we shared, the same respect
Two names to rep in our own circles (what)
Two brothers with good hearts
But if you start, two bothers that'll hurt you (yeah)
Know how that dirt do, hittin for quarters
Arf arf arf arf! Right back on orders
Guys tried to warn us, but sometimes we don't wanna see
When I first heard, I'm like, this can't be!
Y'all niggaz is buggin, got the wrong information or somethin
Please tell me that these niggaz is frontin! God, no
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends (We miss you Kato)
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Yo K, let me kick it with you for a minute
It was things left unsaid, dog, we wasn't finished
Never got to say thank you for being a friend
Dogs for life, and you, rolled til the end
Held dog down, didn't let a day go by
Every time dog came to the shy (what) - I was good
Trips out to fendis, with the scramblin squad
If I come back to Phoenix, like, damn it's hard
To accept the fact (uh) that you won't be comin back (uh)
But I hope he comin back (uh), cause I won't accept the fact (uh)
When you came to New York, you had to come to the crib
And vice versa (yeah), that's just how we did
Remote-control cars, what! We would race all day
It was adventure we would chase all day (yeah)
So I'm not gonna say goodbye, my nigga (uh-uh)
Instead I would rather (rather)
Focus on the time we spent together, dat's what matters (for real)
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends (We miss you Kato)
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
I need you save me a spot, nigga, next to you and the Lord (aight)
I don't know when I'm comin, but keep checkin the door (aight)
But while I'm here, knock on wood
I'll make sure your kids remember who their father was, and thou is good
(Aigh) Understood how real niggaz move, we don't talk
But you always gonna have family in New York, believe that (yeah)
And where you at, you can see that
We dogs for life and in death, and I mean that, vato
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends (We miss you Kato)
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Yo, Where The Hood At is bangin right now man
That was your favorite joint, knahmean (We miss you Kato)
It's goin just like we thought it would baby
(We miss you Kato) Yeah (We miss you Kato)

What If I Came Knocking
What if I came knocking
On your front door some night?
Would you open the window
And drop me down the key?
What if I came knocking
On your bedpost that same night?
Would you open up your heart
Or try to get the best of me?
What if I came knocking
On your brain the next day
And ask for your truth and your love and your honesty?
Would you build up your big walls
And try to hide behind that smile
Or would you try to pull the wool right over me?
So what if I came knocking?
So what if I came knocking?
So what if I came kicking
And it scared you a little bit
And I came on strong
Would you think
That theres something wrong with me?
Or could it be your fears
Of trying something real
Or just afraid to touch
A guy like me?
What if I came knocking?
What if I came knocking?
What if I came knocking
On your front door some night? ahh
So lets just say it worked out
Like a storybook dream
And we lived happily ever after
Fa la la la
But what if I came crying
After just a few weeks
And said I misread my heart
This is not really meant to be? yeah
So if you hear some knocking
On your window tonight
You can bet that its probably me
But let it be known
That were just a pair of tumbling dice
And the outcome of these crap shoots
Is hard to see
So what if I came knocking?
So what if I came knocking?
So what if I came knocking
On your front door tonight? ahh
So what if I came knocking?
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knocking
Kick, kick, kick
What if I came knocking
On your front porch tonight, tonight?

To a fellow poet
What can I give you –
for only giving can I think of,
in this dark season of the year
which needs no festive name, to name the need…
this dark season, when hearts yearn
for all that’s bright, and warm, and love..
what can I give you, at this time?
I give you – music… music, heard
outside the heart’s dark winter door
to say, that all’s not lost; all’s never lost;
there’s music still and always, through the door…
you’ll hear, and know yourself to be that all…
I give you – laughter… laughter, on the face
of strangers, as you open that dark door;
strangers who laughing turn to you
and share their laughter and a proffered hand;
a room of laughter shared with you, illusions laughed away…
As poet gives to poet, these I give you;
they are – but poetry;
as poetry, may live.
*
[occasioned by discussion of ‘the three persons’ in poetry:
the confessional poetry of ‘I’;
the poetry that speaks and gives to ‘you’;
and the poetry of he, she, it, they – of universal truth..]

Call It Evil (demo)
I've been around watching little late shows
Drink a lot of beer
Like playing cards with my friends
Call it evil
Call it pain
It goes knock, knock, knock-knock-knock-knock, on my door
It goes knock, knock, knock-knock-knock-knock, on my door
That rock and rock, yeah, call it evil
That rock and rock, yeah, call it evil
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door, Yeah!
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door
Going to get as my babe.
It goes knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door
Playing sopwith in the back of my head
What you trying to be crazy?
People look at me, they look at me, but you're dead
Call it evil
Call it pain
It goes knock, knock, knock-knock-knock-knock, on my door
It goes knock, knock, knock-knock-knock-knock, come on
Knock-knock-knock-knock, one more
Knock-knock-knock-knock
That rock and rock, yeah, call it evil
That rock and rock, yeah, call it evil
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, on my door

I MISS YOU MY FRIEND
I miss you my friend…
I miss my friend who always have been with me
I miss my friend who always cared for me
I miss my friend who always understood my silence
I miss my friend who always wished to see me happy
I miss my friend what suddenly have changed you?
I miss everything that reminds me of you
We were friends forever
But now apart for ever…
I miss you my friend…

New York Woman
It was getting dark in a snow-covered park,
I thought I saw you smiling.
You left town to marry a texas millionaire,
I wonder how you are doing.
You were a new york woman,
New york woman,
New york woman,
I love you.
I heard him on the air discussing world affairs,
And something about his global vision.
Thats when I wondered if you made the right decision,
I want to know what youre thinking.
You were a new york woman,
New york woman,
New york woman,
I miss you.
You were a new york woman,
New york woman,
New york woman,
I miss you.
I miss you,
I miss you,
I miss you,
I miss you, my friend.
I miss you,
Oh, I miss you,
Oh, I miss you,
Oh, I miss you.

Leaving Me
do you remember that day,
when you tried to say goodbye,
then you said you'll stay for me,
because I almost cried,
you gave me this smile,
not because your staying,
but because you'd be missed,
just the thought of you leaving,
it makes me want to cry,
thinking about the time we shared,
and the time passing by,
it'll hurt more when you do leave,
so why even bother?
we have shared laughs,
we've shared hours,
but I can't let it go,
I can't let you go,
I'll miss you too much,
and I'd hope you'd miss me,
just saying goodbye isn't enough,
we know eachother to well to let go,
so don't,
never let me go,
and never go from me.

Final Good-Byes
as we say our final good-byes
I won't be fully there
I'll be thinking of time we shared
and what it'll be like without you
you're moving
it'll be sad to see
but it's nothing new
for it's plain to see
I liked you
you'd never tell
or see for that matter
how I truy feel
I thought there was something
special we shared
a bond a connection
that wouldn't rip us apart
but these are our final days
until we're far apart
I will treasure them always
you'll be in my heart
you reached me
for the first time I say
I'd trust you with my life
even on my last day
I'll think about you
and wonder 'What if...'
what if you never left
what if we could be
some think it's foolishness
but I'll never tell
how you made me feel
and how you made me melt
when I hear your voice
I always turn back to see
you smiling at me
and calling me near
some say you're normal
I say their wrong
you're something special
because you made me strong
I know we're just friends
but there's more there
I never saw it coming
but it's something I must bare
so good-bye
but not forever
time will tell
what was truly there
I will miss you
more than you know
it's the hardest thing to do
saying good-bye to you
these moments are going
as I wave you good-bye
it could be the last I see you
I'll miss you no lie.

I Miss You! ! !
I miss you so much,
Its almost been a year with out you here,
Why did you have to go like that,
Why did you left me here to suffer with out you here,
You were my best friend,
A friend that taught me how to skateboard,
A friend that always smiled through his roughest time,
A friend I can rely on,
Every time when I hang out with our old friends I think of you how we used to toke it up and how we used to party,
I miss those days,
I miss how you smiled and always cracked a joke,
I miss us driving around sky line to toke it up,
You were my best friend and I’ll always forever miss you,
May you R.I.P I miss you Andrew.
