Let's Make Sandwiches
Lately, I've been hungry,
Starving to have my fill,
So let's make sandwiches.
All upset and angry,
Empty stomachs seem ill,
So let's make sandwiches.
If our tastes would agree,
I'd be ready to grill,
So let's make sandwiches.
We could enjoy our food,
The flavors we've pursued,
So let's make sandwiches.

Call me All-American, but I love Ham and Cheese sandwiches. And not just any old ham and cheese sandwich... My mother's is the best. I've tried many times to make these sandwiches on my own, but it's never the same.

Sandwiches Time
Until a better time
You walk along that line
Love me
Love me
You do it
You do it
Until you're blue
You want it, ah
Into another place
You walk along the face
Love me
Love me
You do it
You do it
Until you're blue
You want it, ah
Sandwiches time
Sandwiches time
Sandwiches on my mind
You do it
You do it
Until you're blue
You want it, ah
Sandwiches time
Sandwiches time
Sandwiches on my mind
Into another place
Into another place
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

When you make his sandwiches, put a sexy or loving note in his lunch box.
The Fifties
I can remember when children behaved like children.
especially when school closed for the summer recess.
After breakfast we met up for another adventure,
with a bottle of water and sandwiches of jam, or cress.
We would set off for the not too far badlands,
where the taboo river was shallow enough to cross.
With our bows and arrows crafted from willow,
and our quivers made from old school socks.
In a clearing surrounded by trees we'd make camp
and build a fire protected by stones.
We'd sit down cross legged and tell stories of interest,
and crack jokes as old, as old bones.
After a laugh and an exchange of sandwiches,
we'd build a den from branches with leaves.
We'd go swimming in the shallows of the river
until the pangs of hunger forced us to leave.
This was a typical summer's day of adventure,
a day when friends in the morning met.
A day of many that was well worth remembering,
and in adulthood how could we forget.

The Spicy Pickle
I wanna tell you about a place
That’s very special to me
It’s called The Spicy Pickle
They serve food so deliciously
There’s salads, soups & sandwiches
With flavors of such delight
You can go there for lunch
Or dinner t’wards the night
They have little crusty pizzas
With what fixins’ you desire
Oh yes, they serve the food
That folks never ever tire
But the very best to me is
The ‘build your own’ meal
So many things to choose from
What a delightful deal
I hope you too will enjoy one day
Or even in the night
The wonderful Spicy Pickle
Where the food is made just right!

To Be or Not to Be?
To be or not to be on diet?
That is the question!
I think I won’t.
I better prefer an entrecote.
I certainly love to eat,
My favorite dishes are so sweet.
I never ignore a cake.
How delicious is a juicy steak.
Sandwiches with caviar,
Spaghetti and meatballs,
Pilaf and goulash,
Cucumbers and fish …..
Why should I lose weight?
To eat is never late.
Why shouldn’t I eat?
I can stand on my feet.
Why should I care of my waist?
I so much enjoy the food’s taste.
I will not listen to anyone.
It’s the greatest fun
To eat fried mushrooms with sour cream.
Food is so good cooked on a steam.
Chickens in the oven I’ll bake,
Pancakes on the stove I’ll make.
Then I will drink wine
And my eyes will shine.
Someone will be surprised,
But some will be just enticed.

You know, nobody eats in England. Three or four pints of English beer a night fills you. I can't say I'm very impressed with the food in America. it's all sort of bland. Like turkey sandwiches.

On Being Popular
Lie!
Shake hands and smile in their faces.
Strip them of their natural resources.
Starve them to death!
Show them and the world how worthless they are!
Mock their existence!
Throw them sandwiches for photo ops.
Hand out bibles and teach them hymns!
And then select which ones are qualified...
To make brooms to sweep your floors!
Divide them into tribes to worship images of you!
Being popular is your motivating tool!
Eventually these actions,
Will make you the paying fool!
But who cares?
Since no one is aware of the things you do!

Toojay’s success had just begun.
Starting in Palm Beach and expanding through the sunshine state,
they have made customers happy they have satisfied their tastes.
With comfort food, healthy food choices, deserts and traditional deli fare-
Friendly service in a casual and lively atmosphere.
Try their deli sandwiches, soups and potato pancakes,
something for everyone, make no mistake.
Lighter and Vegetarian section
for health conscious people, Toojay’ provides selection.
Toojay’s has won awards like Best Deli, Hall Of Fame,
even Best Of Boca, Best Of The Best just a few I can name.
Toojay’s will even deliver out of state by plane,
most destinations east of the Missippi,
you won’t have long to wait.
Go to Toojay’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner or to go,
Toojay’s does catering, it’s a good thing to know.

Leaving
Tears on flushed cheeks,
stomping on the floor!
Her little hands are clenched as fists
her eyes are looking sore.
Mother's making sandwiches,
adds delicious filling
little blobs of salad cream,
these are really winning.
"So your going, " mother says,
"Have you any money?
I've made a lovely lunch
there's cake with fruit and honey"
Little girl is silent
takes the sandwiches
then goes out the front way,
still with rolling tears.
Sitting on the front step
she eats her picnic there
with teardrops in her eyes
and dirty fingernails,
then creeps around the back,
waits by the back door
asks mum very sheepishly,
"is there anymore? "
"You'd better come back in
and dry those weepy eyes,
there's fish and chips for supper
and the pudding will be nice."

The world wants oatmeal. It is not my job to give the world oatmeal. It is my job not to be a hack. It is my job to try to make the world chew, lest its lazy jaw muscles atrophy and its collective mandible withers and all its teeth fall out. It is my job, as a writer, to give the world toffee and peanut brittle and tough steak and celery. I write peanut butter sandwiches, not oatmeal. And every time some dolt whines, "I'm confused" or "I don't understand" or "This doesn't make any sense," I should smile and know that I'm doing my job. Not because it is my job to be opaque, but because it is not my job to be transparent.

The Pillar Box
The pillar box is fat and red,
The pillar box is high;
It has the flattest sort of head
And not a nose or eye,
But just one open nigger mouth
That grins when I go by.
The pillar box is very round
But hungry all the day;
Although it doesn't make a sound,
Folks know it wants to say,
"Give me some letter sandwiches
To pass the time away."
"A postage stamp I like to eat
Or gummy letterette."
I see the people on the street,
If it is fine or wet,
Give something to the greedy thing;
They never quite forget.
The pillar box is quite a friend;
When Father goes away
My Mother has such lots to send,
Far letters every day,
And so I drop them in its mouth
When I go out to play.
