apj Indonesia’s Torturous Democracy?

Indonesia is a sprawling
archipelago nation
of 237 million people.

Indonesia emerged
from decades
of dictatorship
as recently as 1998.

Indonesia continues
to make
strides toward democracy...

however a weak
limp legal system
continues to be
a hot black spot.

torturing suspects
'the norm' in Indonesia
routine police perks

routine law enforcement
torture suspects convicts
extract corrupt confessions

“Indonesian law enforcers
routinely torture suspects
and convicts to extract
confessions or obtain

information... beatings,
intimidation and rape are
so commonplace they are
considered the norm.”

Jakarta-based Legal Aid Foundation Report

Restaria Hutabarat said the group's report
found police beatings intimidation rape
are commonplace considered routine norm

“few victims believe
they have the right
to lodge complaints”

police intimidation beatings raping suspects
few terrorized victims lodge complaints
Boy Rafli Amar will make changes if necessary

Indonesian National Police Spokesman Col. Boy Rafli Amar

said he would study
a 21-page legal report
would make changes
in the force if necessary.

Make changes in
the Police force
if necessary?

Beatings raping suspects
is not urgent grounds
for necessary changes?

Beatings raping
innocent people
is not a serious

crime when wearing
a badge of immunity?

Are police perks
more honourable
than paying a prostitute

in the world's
largest Islamic nation
a nation shamed?

The Mubarak Torture Regime

Thousands of WikiLeaks
released documents,
diplomatic cables from
2009 and 2010 from
the US embassy in Cairo.
Prove the Barak Obama

a dictator Hosni Mubarak

by terrorizing Egyptians.

US Ambassador Margaret
Scobey in a cable dated
January 15,2009. The letter
calls police brutality “routine
and pervasive” and states that
“police using force to extract
confessions from criminals [is]
a daily event.” A daily shame
written in blood screaming pain
“routine and pervasive” torture.

Legendary Sirens Luring Sailors Onto Rocks

legendary
stories of sirens
luring sailors
to their deaths
on piercing rocks

consuming
their flesh brains
ancient adhellas
preying on men's
adventurous lives

plying
dark compelling spells
alluring enchanting arts
apparently sly prostitutes
in red light Jakarta's

inviting
fresh flesh markets
hospitality hostesses
hide trade secrets
hooking customers

enticing
hidden golden charms
implanted gold inserts
embedded golden flecks
beneath skin in their faces

witching
spells golden lures
of confidence flashes
plays customer's pockets
as prizes crash upon lusts

rising
juicy stormy passions
testosterone mounting beasts
sensory emotive floods
time locked before reason returns

Tears Shed Still Flood The Earth

men were described as beasts
before an apocalyptic flood and after
before legendary Biblical flood and after
men no longer strut across landscape like giants

men crush landscape all obstacles into dust particles
men raise up great monuments giant skyscrapers into skies
men dominate landscapes all available resources earth sea skies
but tears still ever flood the earth shed by staring millions

Siren Singing

You would not
let me write.

You do not
support it.

You do not
understand it.

You would steal
time with moods

childish tantrums
endless cups of coffee

cigarettes smoked

like obsolete
steam train.

You would
be my chain and ball

I Prometheus Bound

heart eaten out
day and night

by craven
of cowling despair

siren singing
plied pity song

to founder
lost souls

upon destruction rocks

counting skeletons
former adventurers.

Who journeyed
upon odyssey

culminating

upon these fed
isle wreck shores

rib caged despair
broken dreams?

British Conservative Government Provokes Punters

British conservative government rises to power
on band wagon promise to abolish university fees
now with stiff upper lip their punters are stiffed
betrayal is rabid 300 percent rise in university fees

a policy like giving new home owners a free front door
then smiling innocently as you steal their castle houses
bring down clowns as fraud squad removes government
real clowns are dedicated professionals aiming to please

putting in hundreds of hours of dedication to get act right

Nowhere but INDONESIA

Nowhere but Indonesia
Thousands island lies on equator
Sun shines brightly along the year
Welcoming smiles are free of charge

Nowhere but Indonesia
Thousands lie covered those islands
Son shy to says that He is right
Full of charge are those who lies

Nowhere but Indonesia
Hope and pain live in peace
For hope is shadow of the pain
And pain is a charge of the hope

Nowhere but Indonesia
Plant and animals live in harmony
For it was said beyond the ages
and should be paid without objection

Nowhere but Indonesia
Children built their little dream
Tear it off when they grew up
Comes denial when getting old

Nowhere but Indonesia
We smile when we smile
We smile when we not smile
We not smile when you smile

Nowhere but Indonesia
Am on my knee lift up a prayer
God bless my country is what I plea
Coz my country long time no smile

Nowhere but Indonesia
Thousands island lie on equator
Hope and pain live in peace
We smile when we not smile
