I hang my face
over her head

First Kiss
Blind dates were not the norm for you, yet it worked out that way...
So I dressed up in all things new in hopes I looked O.K.
And so it was that we first met, shook hands, all smiles and grins
Still asking what the Fates had set as our blind date begins...
The restaurant turned out first class - our meal was well prepared.
Your finger paused, caressed your glass... I wondered if you cared.
You laughed at jokes made up in haste and ate contentedly...
The wine was excellent to taste and mellowed just like me...
I walked you home beneath the stars that twinkled like your eyes -
In time we knew this date would pass though it had been so nice!
Outside your door I shook your hand yet sighed so sad to part!
I prayed that you could understand the hopes within my heart!
You turned to go, my heart stood still - I breathed not in or out!
Then you turned back! We shared the thrill and kissed away all doubt!
Thus love was born, made manifest... acknowledged by our lips
And by the way we felt so blessed - hearts, toes and fingertips!
When I walked home I walked on air! My mind still in a dream!
I thought you were beyond compare - we're now a kissing team!
From that first kiss we've seen love grow to blossom like the rose...

I Love The Smell Of Maggie In The Morning
To wake with you each morning,
Such a pleasant thought that is.
Waking on a winter's day,
for winter becomes the bedroom,
waking with you beside me in your bed,
my arms embracing you
gently from behind.
Your body warming mine.
Your hair against my cheek.
Your fragrance in my breath.
The taste of you still on my lips.
And last night's memory of you
stirring in my groin.
You wake and, smiling sleepily,
turn into me and peck softly at my mouth,
with merest touch of tongue,
for ours are morning breaths.
Then, fondling with your eyes in bed,
and touching a finger to my cheek,
you bite your bottom lip
and barely, ever so slightly,
shake your head.

A Fallen Soldier
He carved his name in my heart
Left his smile on my pillow,
His precious eyes kept in his child
His bygone laughter my tears at night
His face like metaphor bliss
In a beautiful love poem.
Waving goodbye, in hindsight the last goodbye kiss,
My lover, my husband, my soldier boy,
Going to a far off foreign land to die.
Not yet three score and ten why oh why,
For country for valour for freedom and justice,
He laid down his life....
His country farm still the same,

The Phantom Kiss
One night in my room, still and beamless,
With will and with thought in eclipse,
I rested in sleep that was dreamless;
When softly there fell on my lips
A touch, as of lips that were pressing
Mine own with the message of bliss--
A sudden, soft, fleeting caressing,
A breath like a maiden's first kiss.
I woke-and the scoffer may doubt me--
I peered in surprise through the gloom;
But nothing and none were about me,
And I was alone in my room.
Perhaps 't was the wind that caressed me
And touched me with dew-laden breath;

Thou so bravely endure
And a hug so warm
And a faith so deep
And a whisper to god
No fears to weep
And a life so unconditional
And a caress to assure
Of thy love and thy being
Of those unpaid gifts galore
A balm for each heart
A kiss for each tear
Our gift from heaven
To shield each fear
Then why do we hurt thou
And make thy cry
So ruthless, so cruel
But still not a sigh
And yet thy loves
And yet thy cares
And hopes and wishes
And add us to thy prayers
Oh, why art thou so gentle
Oh why so kind
Thou could go so much further
And leave us all behind
Holding my hands so gently
Thou then doth sighs
With that twinkle so lovely
In thine lovely eyes
Thoust uttered not a word
And yet said so much
Those gentle eyes told it all
Along with that gentle touch
And so thy stand
My mentor, my guide
To lead us all to eternity
My mater, our pride.
