A Love's Desire
In my desperate need
To know of your whereabouts,
I asked the moon about you
And it turned its back on me, ,
Trying to hide behind a cloud...
I also asked the stars
With no response at all...
I had no choice, indeed,
But ask for help from above,
Since, witnesses they were both
Of our passionate love...
Now, stuck with inquire without result,
I am alone, sad and really hurt,
Making everything sounds like a satire,
Getting old and tired...
One question remaining,
Should I give up
Love's matters
And retire?
Her, and the whole world
Have the response...

Change
The other day I walked accross the street
i couldnt believe what I appeared to see...
as I looked at a poor boy who came to me
I asked him his name and he didnt know
he just asked me for change.
I asked where is your mum?
he just asked me for change
I asked where is your dad?
he just asked me for change
I asked will someone come?
he just asked me for change
I asked why are you sad?
with no response to my question there was a pause...
but then once again he asked me for change
see, as i watched him dissapear with his pain
I realised that he actualy asked me...
for a change.

A Love's Addiction
To your love,
You really got me addicted,
Like I never predicted...
I thought it was a blessing from above,
But, by leaving me alone,
In me, a big wound you inflicted
Leaving me dried and cold like a stone...
Things were so different
When you were around,
When you were so near,
Feeling so secure and without fear...
Thinking about a love so different
I thought I finally found...
Now, alone, my shaking body,
Asks for you in the middle of the night,
When I don't know where you are...
I ask the moon or any star
Of you, to find. I might...
So, to my frighten body
I can give an honest response
While listening to another song...
Brokenhearted now,
No knowing which is worse:
The medication or the decease
Now, stuck with a prescription,
That already expired,
And can no longer be refilled,
I find myself, getting old and tired...
Dealing everyday with my addiction
And the true love for you, I still feel...

Enjoy Your Day
You approached me to ask a question.
And taking my time to listen...
With a response I had hoped,
You would comprehend.
Not only did you not do that.
But you edited my answer...
To 'insert' what you thought,
For you did not offend.
Now you accuse me of not being direct.
You say my answer,
For you is not effective.
You inject words connected to my response,
To something you rather accept.
And I hear your attempts,
To try to comvince others...
What it is I really meant!
'Why are you leaving? '
You asked me a question.
I answered it.
Now I take my exit.
To that do you also object?
'But I think your response,
Should be open to debate.'
First of all...
You approached me.
And the time given...
I did not hesitate.
You wanted to hear something you formulate.
Something in your mind you hoped I would find.
And I'm not wasting any more of my time...
To play a game of ping pong,
With someone who has yet to learn...
The reason or the effective use of the paddle.
And besides,
If I did decide to play...
It would be with someone,
Who had something meaningful to say.
And all you wish to do is to occupy space,
In the hopes someone will come forward...
To assist you in the use of it!
'Don't you think your point of view is a bit arrogant? '
That depends!
Is that your second question?
Or should I be seeking your permission to leave?
And neither question,
Do I seek from you an answer.
But I will give you the benefit...
To decide for yourself,
Which one eventually applies!
How is that?
Enjoy your day.
'You will not be asked back here again! '
Was I not already here when you entered?
Again...
Enjoy your day!

Think About It
Think about it.
Is it really fair,
That anyone declared intelligent...
Should assume those not given that designation,
Are amongst those ignorant?
And should at all cost,
Be avoided?
And...
To that,
Your response would be?
Are you giving the question I asked,
More time to ponder?
Comeon.
Why are you looking at me,
Suspiciously?
Why are you backing away from me?
It's just a simple question.
Hey?
Hey?
You don't have to run away.
It's not my survey.
What is it you hide,
And try to protect?
HEY?
Some people today,
Get highly defensive...
By anyone attempting to communicate.
It's not like I asked anything to offend,
Intentionally.

Inner Need
I had something strange happen to me.
Someone asked for a copy of my Easter sermon.
They said the words I spoke
made such of an impression on them.
They asked if they could have
a copy of it to keep.
Of course, I said it was no problem.
Sometimes we as writers
write things we cannot see,
that fill someone else’s world
with some inner need.
The words we write bring them something
we may have never thought about.
They bring some peace of mind
that they had been searching for.
They feel our words
are so relevant to them
that they have this need
to read those words
over and over again.

I Told Myself
I told myself
You do love me
Is it really true?
She asked me
I told myself
You care for me
Are you really sure?
She asked me
I told myself
You do miss me
As often as you?
She asked me
I told myself
You need me too
Are you guessing?
She asked me
I told myself
You never tell me
Why on Earth?
She asked me
I told myself
You hide a lot…
Is that friendship?
She asked me
I told myself
You think too much
Does he not feel?
She asked me
Tell me, my love
What shall I say?
To all those queries
That she asked me...
How should I answer?
What should I ponder?
Tell me the truth
For she still asks me...
You For Me
And Me For You
Is it the Future?
One last Question
She did ask me.
I don’t have the answers
Yet she keeps asking me…
May be, she knows,
One day, one moment
You’ll let her know
How you feel for me...

You Asked Me To
(words & music by jennings - shaver)
Long ago and far away
In my old common labor shoes
I turned the world all which-a-way
Just because you asked me to
Likened to no other feel
Summer love is simple true
Theres no end to what Id do
Just because you asked me to
Let the world call me a fool
Let it; things are right with me and you
Thats all that matters and Ill do
Anything you ask me to
Knowin how much I love you
After all Ive been through
Id turn and walk away from you
Just because you asked me to
Let the world call me a fool
Let it; things are right with me and you
Thats all that matters and Ill do
Anything you ask me to

To Amuse At The Expense Of Wasted Time
Would these be betting odds,
That an asking of someone...
Who has done something in their life,
For more than 'sixty years'.
And approached to be questioned,
What they have been doing...
Since they were last seen ten years ago?
And that question has been asked,
By that same person rerpeatedly.
And the response is known.
What would be the likely odds,
That the person asked the question...
Would 'not' be doing,
What has become an obvious love...
For what that person does.
Should the one asking that same question,
Take a gamble and ask another question...
That would initiate a conversation,
Expressing a real interest?
And not just say the same thing to re-tread.
I maybe wrong about this,
But...
Leaving the person feeling a sense of being appreciated,
Would probably reveal a human being existing.
Instead of a novelty to amuse at the expense of wasted time.

Could You
There's something about you boy,
That makes me want to skip through the town,
In the rain with you.
There's something about you.
And it makes my heart skip every other beat like a broken record.
You asked me the other day, if you should sing a certain song to a girl.
I said it'd be romantic, go for it.
But as my fingers hit those keys, I could only anxiously think,
If he'll ever sing it to me.
So when you figure who you could like, who you should love.
Could you please consider me?
Hey, boy. You make me spechless...
It's not another copy of, will you just glance at me.
Not another copy of, won't you just say a word to me.
The question is for you and for me.
'Baby could you love me, like I want to love you? '
Smiley boy, we could have a future together with no end.
There would be no lies, fakes, or pretends
Boy, all our friends would be jelous of what we have together.
I'd go to every single soccer game.
Cheer the loudest from the stands.
You'd go to every one of my track meets,
Loving me so much, it's hard to understand.
Hey, boy. You make me spechless...
It's not another copy of, will you just glance at me.
Not another copy of, won't you just say a word to me.
The question is for you and for me.
'Baby could you love me, like I want to love you? '
I never thought, not ever considered
That I could feel the way I do for you now.
But I'm glad it planned out the way.
That's the way I want it to stay.
Hey, boy. You make me spechless...
It's not another copy of, will you just glance at me.
Not another copy of, won't you just say a word to me.
The question is for you and for me.
'Baby could you love me, like I want to love you? '
You're the perfect boy for me, the sweet prince charming
Of my daydreams, you're the one rescuing me.
You play guitar and sing, what a wonderful thing.
You love and praise God, I give you my applaude.
You play soccer, humble but the best of the best.
You are humorous, you're sweet, honest.
And your're makin me wanna emphasize 'Kiss me, I'm Irish'
Smiley boy, I'm sitting here waiting here for you.
Could you tell I'm so close to loving you.
Smiley boy, I'm sitting here, waiting patiently here.
I'm desperate for you to love me.
Could you realize, please realize.
That there's no one on this earth that'd rather love you than me.
Could you decide that you love me back, soon?

Thunderbolt
I am the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt staying bold.
I'm the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt that remained bold.
You may decide to run and hide.
But I've learned throughout my life...
Those who run let life slip by,
And cry in denial.
Setting themselves up...
For struggles and trials.
When I was young I was often hushed,
I would question too much.
With unedited questions asked.
To connect in my mind to grasp.
I am the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I'm that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt that remained bold.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that result of a thunderbolt.
And with a boldness I still hold.
When I was young I was often hushed,
I would question too much.
With unedited questions asked.
To connect in my mind to grasp.
Zip zap crack with answers due.
Answer my questions asked of you!
I'm the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I'm that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt that remained bold.
Zip zap crack with answers due.
Answer my questions asked of you!
I am the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt that remained bold.
There were no shoulders for me to hold.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
There were no shoulders for me to hold.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that result of a thunderbolt.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
There were no shoulders with warm holds.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I might have been precocious!
But not braggadocious.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.

Doing What I Do For Too Long
Keep 'this' in mind.
I don't 'have' to express an opinion,
When asked.
I 'select' to give one.
Realizing this...
I don't have to give any at all.
And if I should elect to express it...
I am giving it to the one who asked!
Who they should share it with is their business.
That is 'why' I keep my opinions,
To a limit.
And embellishments done to my statements,
Are obvious for the creative exaggerations made.
I've been doing what I do for too long,
Not to recognize those who plagiarize!
And those who 'ask' for answers to questions...
Just for the purpose to initiate conflict!
They are the ones quick to disagree,
To any response I may give.
And this 'before' I give it,
Is known!

Interview Process
I was never one,
To sit through an interview process.
When I was asked...
'Why do you wish to work for us? '
My response...
'Give me a reason to want to! '
Here's another one...
'Where do you see yourself,
In the next five years?
My response...
'Not being interviewed,
For a position I'm overqualified for! '
And when test results were revealed...
This was the exchange...
'You have done remarkably well.
In fact,
The position you most qualify for
Was 'just' filled.
We will keep your resumé in our active files.
And if a similar position opens...
You will be contacted! '
Well...
Those active files were usually discarded
In an opened trash can!
My new approach now is this...
'I want to start at least tweny dollars an hour! '
Their response...
'We can't pay that.
I'm not even getting that! '
My response...
'I can understand why you're not getting paid that.
If you can not see I am worth more than that...
I'll be surprised if you're still here...
After someone discovers you were stupid enough,
To let me walk out that door! '
And most companies fail,
For the lack of qualified employees.
Who wants to hire someone smarter than they are?
I knew of folks who trained five years...
Just learning how to file documents alphabetically.
And they have won 'Employee of the Month' awards!
But then again...
None of them 'looked' like me either!

Give the Love
Give the love before it’s gone
Give all the love before it’s gone, it’s gone
Before it’s gone by fate
Give the love before it’s faded
Give a whole love before it’s faded, it’s faded
Before it’s faded by time
Give the love before it’s turned
Give the best of love before it’s turned, it’s turned
Before it’s turned to hate
Give the love before it’s erased
Give the sincere love before it’s erased, it’s erased
Before it’s erased by doubt
Give the love before it’s broken
Give the sweet love before it’s broken, it’s broken
Before it’s broken by hurt
Give the love before it’s lost
Give the faithful love before it’s lost, it’s lost
Before it’s lost to temptation
Give the love before it’s changed
Give your dreaming love before it’s changed, it’s changed
Before it’s changed by realization
Give the love before it flies
Give an unbinding love before it flies, it flies
Before it flies by love
Give the love before it’s tired
Give the passionate love before it’s tired, it’s tired
Before it’s tired by coldness
Give the love before it is hidden
Give the touch of love before it is hidden, it’s hidden
Before it is hidden by fear
Give the love before it’s forbidden
Give an innocent love before it’s forbidden, it’s forbidden
Before it’s forbidden by rule
Give the love before it’s indifferent
Give the undying love before it’s indifferent, it’s indifferent
Before it’s indifferent by unrequited
Give the love before it’s shattered
Give a strong love before it’s shattered, it’s shattered
Before it’s shattered by despair
Give the love before it’s crazy
Give the unconditional love before it’s crazy, it’s crazy
Before it’s crazy by blindness
Give the love before it plays
Give the pure love before it plays, it plays
Before it plays with lie
Give the love before it’s forgotten
Give the greatest love before it’s forgotten, it’s forgotten
Before it’s forgotten by people

Love-ache
when I asked my heart, how it is ready, to fall in love again?
And why it is not, asking for my consent? It asked: can anything but love cure the pain. And can a flower, even if possessed by many ever lose it's scent?
When I asked my eyes, how they can admire beauty just yet!
And if it has been, long enough for them to forget! ! They said their last tears have just cleared their sight and that they were now ready to fight. beauty is everywhere they said with hope, admiring it will only help us cope.
When I asked my mind, how it could be thinking of another, this soon! ! It looked at me sad but with a smile of wisdom and said when the sun leaves the stars cheer up the moon! ! My ignorant youth rushes to say: starlights will never threaten the moon in any way. and once again it looked at me sad but with a smile of wisdom and said some stars are shinier than others, and sometimes we have to believe in miracles.

I Hear The Annual Rhetoric
My ears I keep open.
And I hear the annual rhetoric.
Spoken by some in glorious tones...
About uplifting the quality of life of those,
Of our brothers and sisters...
Who have done their best,
Avoiding to get stuck...
In cracks wrapped around loopholes.
The ones...
Many have accepted to address their unhappiness.
With a lack of discipline and purpose self confessed.
I hear the annual rhetoric.
Yet a slow slipping done,
Into a fissure has grown to become an abyss.
And 'annually' I've been approached and asked...
To express an intelligent response about this!
However...
As I have aged to confront my own obstacles,
I have forced myself not to dismiss.
With a determination to calm my outrage,
With a mind blessed to be at peace...
With the unballing of my fists!
I wonder,
Why you request me to give you an intelligent response?
Concerning an activity that has taken place,
And achieved totally on the merits of conscious ignorance.
Served and accepted as if this was a blessing,
Many wish and want to keep.
As those slandered and defamed were chased away.
I wonder,
Why you request me to give you an intelligent response?
Did you expect something glowing and profound?
Full of reflective self righteousness?
We are all in this abyss.
I just prefer to keep reaching,
To experience the higher consciousness of it!

I Remain, Yours Truly
If you want me to accept and believe,
You are there caring and in my corner...
With a watching my back to protect.
I suggest giving me a hint or clue,
As to when you do this.
And it doesn't have to be often.
Not at all.
Even done on a semi-annual basis,
Would be quite nice to know...
You can actually show me.
I am sure from your prospective,
Your feelings for me should be clear.
But when I am asked by others,
If we still are together and a couple in love...
I would like to answer those who question,
With a more decisive response.
Please call, email, text or fact...
At your earliest convenience.
I remain,
Yours Truly.
PS...Will I get to see you,
BEFORE your 'next' business trip?
Just curious.

I Love You Just Enough
A restless fever
Burning like a torch in your eyes…
My aching heart can feel
The desperate need you try to hide..
A part of you is longing
To be free from me, I know…
And even when my cries,
I come to realize:
That I love You
Just enough to let you go…
I can't stand to see
You searching for the words
To tell me gently, what went through…
If one of us must suffer,
It will give me
The satisfaction just to know,
That I was the one to ease your pain,
By saying what you want to hear: Bye!
I love you just enough, to let you go…
I love you just enough, to let you go…
Why should I go through the motion
Of pretending everything is fine,
Just holding off on letting you go
To satisfy myself until now?
I have been clinging to a hope
That is dying slowly…
I never came through my mind
That I was the one to say goodbye…
And this time forever!
