The pain of the blow
An old couple made a strange vow
That their son’s wife be ever barred
From taking part in their funerals.
So heavy was the blow she’s hurled.

First Fruit
I did not pluck at all,
And I am sorry now :
The garden is not barred
But the boughs are heavy with snow,
The flake-blossoms thickly fall
And the hid roots sigh, 'How long will our flowers be marred ?'
Strange as a bird were dumb,
Strange as a hueless leaf.
As one deaf hungers to hear,
Or gazes without belief,
The fruit yearned 'Fingers, come !'
0, shut hands, be empty another year.

To Do Or Not To Do
To do or not to do
I have been having
Some strange thoughts
The past couple of days
Thanks to an incident
With a credit card
And my checking account
I am almost tempted
To go for broke
And say the hell with it all
Bankruptcy could not be all that bad
Could it
I was thinking I could move to Mexico
For a few years
And pay a couple hundred toward rent
And a Mexican shrink
And have plenty left over
For senoritas and beer…LOL
Wouldn’t that be the life
I wonder what that might be like
I wonder what the wife would think
I don’t think she would like that
One bit
Well, I just thought I’d let you in
On some of the crazy thoughts
Racing through my head
Any suggestions

A Sad Return
There are many sad tales
of trains taking people away,
either to fight a war
or just to runaway.
As the train pulled into the station yesterday
there disembarked a passenger
who had been for a long time
on far distant shores.
Coming home to see his family
after years of being away.
He ran along to his door,
tried to inser his key into the lock,
but the key no longer fit.
He knocked on the door.
Strange faces answered it
of people he did not know.
He asked about his wife and son
who used to live there
not all that long ago.
The couple looked at each other
and offered him in for a cup of tea.
When he was comfortable,
they broke the sad news to him.
His wife and son were no longer living
because she could not live without him
she took her own life and their son as well.
He would find their graves
in the cemetery at the bottom of the hill.
As he places some flowers on their graves,
he said a little prayer
for God to look after them
until he too would meet them
at heaven’s door.

Keep Them Barred
Don't accept fresh trouble not yours,
To endure...
Keep it barred.
From your life,
Don't have it start.
Don't accept fresh trouble not yours,
To endure...
Keep it barred.
From your life,
Don't have it start.
People creeping out of cracks,
With crap to attack.
Keep them barred,
From your life...
Don't have them start.
Establish the fact you are better than that!
And don't be scarred...
To arrest a peace that will depart.
Oh-oh-no!
Don't accept fresh trouble not yours,
To endure...
Keep it barred.
From your life,
Don't have it start.
Decide you'll have none of it,
And quick!
Keep it barred.
You can resist it.
Keep it barred.
Be realistic.
Keep it barred.
Let go those woes,
You may hold.
Let go those woes,
You may hold.
Decide you'll have none of it,
And quick!
Keep it barred.
You can resist it.
Keep it barred.
Be realistic.
Keep it barred.
Don't accept fresh trouble not yours,
To endure...
Keep it barred.
From your life,
Don't have it start.
People creeping out of cracks,
With crap to attack.
Keep them barred,
From your life...
Don't have them start.
Oh-oh-no!
Let go those woes you may hold!
Hey!
Decide you'll have none of it,
And quick!
Keep it barred.
You can resist it.
Keep it barred.
Be realistic.
Keep it barred.
Be realistic.
Keep it barred.
You can resist it.
Keep it barred.
Be realistic.
Keep it barred.
You can resist it.
Keep it barred.
Get over those woes that trip a fit...
That do not benefit!
And keep them barred.

The Old Couple
The was an old couple who were so close,
He said to his wife, it's great that you I chose;
To share my life as we go through each day,
Yes! I love you my darling, do you hear what I say?
The old couple were married for many a year,
When any one asked how, they said all ways stay near;
Also they said, never leave an argument undone,
Before any day is ended, at the set of the sun.
The husband said, take time to listen, and she did agree,
And then added, I will show my love so he will see;
Then they added, enjoy to help, the other out too,
Sharing the heavy load of work is what we love to do.
This old couple had lived for 60 years together,
They had seen many a child grow,16grandkids together;
Never in front of a child would they quarrel or fight,
But; wait till they were lone, then get the problem right.
We all should learn from all old couples that are happy,
To try to do the same, and our marriages go well I see;
One thing is certain, put God first in your partnership,
That was the rule they said, and this is a very good tip.

Happy Birthday, My Dear Wife!
Today is your birthday-
A special day indeed;
May God bless you, I pray,
And meet your every need!
God made you, my darling,
To be my only wife;
And that’s the greatest thing,
That happened in my life!
For,
Marriages when God-made,
Can never lose their charm,
And do we as God bade,
Our hearts are always warm.
‘Happy Birthday, dear wife;
You’re special in my life! ’
Dedicated to my beloved wife, Mercy Celestine.

Next door, there's an old man who lived to his nineties and one day passed away in his sleep. And his wife, she stayed for a couple of days and passed away. I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell you that I know we belong.
Prior to that I produced a couple of TV movies for CBS, but the truth of the matter is that I burned out for a couple of years. I didn't do anything for a while, apart from taking up golf, for which I got a four handicap.

Winds Of Change
Written by kit hain.
Tonight theres thunder in the sky
Just like the night you said good-bye
And whats left of a heartache
Runs like rain from my eyes
The winds of change
Gonna blow it all away
Aint it strange
How you wont matter
The winds of change
Gonna blow it all away
I stood like a rock against the storm
And you never knew, did you, how I was torn
And if your memory finally leaves me too
Well I wont sit and mourn
The winds of change
Gonna blow it all away
Aint it strange
How you wont matter
The winds of change
Gonna blow it all away
I shoulda known better than to love you
I shoulda known that you were the hurting kind
Now Im so tired of thinking of you
I just wanna forget that you were ever mine
Tonight theres shadows on my face
Every one tells a story of your disgrace
But soon the dawn will come
And Ill be gone without a trace
The winds of change
Gonna blow it all away
Aint it strange
How you wont matter
The winds of change
Gonna blow it all away
Aint it strange
How you wont matter...

In twin
It needs a couple of wings
To fly
A couple to walk
A couple to talk
And for love a couple of hearts
to beat
To rain it needs a couple
To shine it needs a couple
And the life it needs to share
With couple
For one smile it needs
two hearts
In one band
in the bundle of love
The heart is not alone
Not bachelor
That is way
They beat
In twin.

Part Of Me
You will always be
a part of me
no matter where you go.
You will always be
a part of me
come sunshine, rain or snow.
Your memory is part of me,
now don’t you know.
The taste of your lips
forever lingering on mine.
Your love still embodies me,
and will never let me go.
You are part of me now,
though you may not think so.
You will always be
entwined around me,
for you will always be
a part of me.

A Girl Named Fred
Once upon a time not many years ago
a girl named Fred fell in love with a boy named Fran.
Although the names seemed an odd combination
and could easily be confused by people who did not know
that Fred was a girl and Fran was a boy.
They made the perfect couple as everyone agreed
and when their wedding day arrived,
the priest who was standing in
did not know about the names
only that he was marrying a Fred to a Fran.
Turning to Fran he said,
Fred with you take this woman
to be your lawful wedded wife.
Excuse me Father, but I think that should be husband.
The priest looked up a bit dismayed, but just carried on.
Turning to Fred said Fran will you take this man
to be your lawful wedded husband.
Excuse me Father, but I think that should wife.
The priest’ eyes rolled around in his head
very dazed and confused.
The silent sniggers in the congregation began to grow louder
as peels of laughter not bells rang out within the church.
The poor priest was now in utter disarray
and after blessing the rings;
he handed them back the wrong way about.
Then the poor priest red faced said
to whomever I pronounce you man and wife.
Just to make things more riotous
someone switched the Wedding March
to Rock Around The Clock,
which sent the bride and groom bopping down the isle,
and the poor priest he had a nervous breakdown
saying he would never perform
a wedding ceremony again.
He would stick to funerals
as there was only one body involved
and they wouldn’t talk back to him.

Love Came Back At Fall O’ Dew
Love came back at fall o' dew,
Playing his old part;
But I had a word or two
That would break his heart.
'He who comes at candlelight,
That should come before,
Must betake him to the night
From a barred door.'
This the word that made us part
In the fall o' dew;
This the word that brake his heart --
Yet it brake mine, too.

My Life Is Good
A couple of week ago
My wife and i
Took a little trip down to
Mexico
Met this young girl there
We brought her back with us
Now she lives with us
In our home
She cleans the hallway
She cleans the stair
She cleans the livingroom
She wipes the babys ass
She drives the kids to school
She does the laundry too
She wrote this song for me
Listen
Yeah
The other afternoon
My wife and i
Took a little ride into
Beverly hills
Went to the private school
Our oldest child attends
Many famous people send their children there
This teacher says to us
We have a problem here
This child just will not do
A thing I tell him to
And hes such a big old thing
He hurts the other children
All the games they play, he plays so rough
Hold it teacher
Wait a minute
Maybe my hears are clogged or somethin
Maybe Im not understanding
The english language
Dear, you dont seem to realize
My life is good
My life is good
My life is good, you old bag
My life, my life
Just this evening
Some young associates of ours
Are flying to see us from
New york city
Theyre gonna stay with us
Oh, a couple of weeks or so
Im gonna take em to
Restaurants and everything
Gonna getem some
Real good cocaine
They dont get much
Where they come from
And this ones guy wife
Is such a pretty little brown thing
That Im liable to give her a poke or two
Whaddaya think of that?
Teacher, let me tell you a little story
Just this morning
My wife and i
Went to this hotel in the hills
Thats right
The bel-air hotel
Where a very good friend of ours
Happens to be staying
And the name of this young man
Is mr bruce springsteen
Thats right, yeah
Oh, we talked about some kind of
Woodblock or something
And this new guitar we like
And you know what he said to me
Ill tell you what he said to me
He said, rand, Im tired
How would you like to be the boss for awhile?
Well, yeah
Blow, big man, blow
My life is good
My life is good
My life is good
My life, my life is good

Departure
So long old friend,
It has been fun
But my work here is done.
To watch you grow
And get to know
The man you have become.
Wherever you walk
And whenever you talk
Part of me is there.
And wherever I go
You too should know
That a part of you I share.
The part of you that made me laugh
Through all the memories we have.
The things that made us mad
The pain that made us cry
Yet, alas, old friend
It is time for me to say goodbye.
Now, we part in separate ways
And with others spend our latter days.
Still in your wealthy memory
Let others see that part of me;
The part of me you'll always have,
The part of me that made you laugh.
Fate has made us one somehow,
It is she who separates us now.
In time you'll see, much of you is me
Our friendship thus was true
And before I go, the world will know
How much of me is you.

White Funeral
sitting alone with nowhere to go
ignoring the static from the radio
that interrupts my favorite song
haven’t loved it in so long
some say love is a foolish thing
and although not in all cases
i can’t help but agree
with the smarter majority
so many weddings
just white funerals
a hand to hold
for the rest of her life
open to the bliss
and the carelessness
be careful, more careful
does it still feel right
i’ll apologize in all the places
where i frowned at all the smiling faces
i just wonder if that will be me
with a wedding dress and a history
so much thought in an august moment
i’m living in my favorite season
but winter’s here, and taking control
as we let the rest of our days unfold
so many weddings
just white funerals
someone she barely knows
becomes her life
open to neglect
and disrespect
that comes with the one
she loved last night
i think of someone i know
better than anyone
i think i’ll be more optomistic
when this is done
can’t help but to think
that my white funeral
won’t be a funeral at all
because i know him
she doesn’t know him
so many weddings
just white funerals
but i’m so glad
that won’t be mine
open to his
fuffilled promises
he knows who i am
we’ll be fine
the white funeral is over
the bride’s been burried
in her own mistake

The Padlock
I triumphed, love's victorious power
Prevailed, and near approached the hour
Which should have crowned our mutual flame,
Just then your tyrant husband came.
That hoary Jailer was too hard,
To love he all access has barred,
And all our wishes to defeat,
Secures the key of pleasure's seat;
For such strange matters to account,
Our tale to ancient days should mount;
Ceres must to you sure be known,
Ceres one daughter had alone,
Who much resembled you in face,
Beauteous, adorned with every grace,
To the soft passion much inclined,
And guided by a Cupid blind.
Hymen, a god as blind as he,
Treated him as he treated thee;
Pluto, the rich and old, in hell
Made her his wife, and forced to dwell;
But she the jealous miser scorned,
And Pluto, though a god, was horned;
Pirithous, his rival bright,
Young, handsome, generous, and polite,
Found means to get to hell ere dead,
And clapped huge horns upon his head.
This as a fable you'll deride,
But love a man to hell may guide;
In hell, as here, by some strange spite,
Intrigues are always brought to light;
In a hot hole a spy concealed,
Saw all, and all he saw revealed;
And added, that the royal dame,
With half the damned had done the same.
The horned god on this report
Convokes at his infernal court,
Each odious, black, and cursed soul,
Sainted below for actions foul,
Each cuckold's soul, who during life
Did all he could to plague his wife.
Then thus declared a Florentine,
'Most mighty monarch, I'd opine
For death, for once a wife is dead,
She can't defile the marriage bed;
But ah, sir, an immortal wife
Can never be deprived of life;
A padlock, therefore, I'd invent,
Which should such accidents prevent;
She must be virtuous, of course,
When under the restraint of force;
Not to be come at by her elf,
You're sure to have her to yourself;
Would I had thought before I died,
Such a convenience to provide.'
This sage advice a loud applause
From all the damned assembly draws;
And straight by order of the state,
Was registered on brass by fate.
That moment in the shades below,
They anvils beat, and bellows blow;
Tisiphone the blacksmith's trade
Well understood, the locks she made.
Proserpina, from Pluto's hand
Receiving, wore it by command.
Sometimes the hardest hearts relent,
Even Pluto's self some pity felt,
When spouse's virtue he made fast,
And said, 'you'll now perforce be chaste.'
This lock which hell could frame alone,
Soon to the human race was known;
In Venice, Rome, and all about it,
No gentleman or cit's without it;
'Tis always thought a method sure,
All female honor to secure.
There husbands, though some sneerers mock,
Keep virtue safe and under lock.
But now to bring the matter home,
Your spouse, you know, lived long at Rome;
With bad men few infection 'scape,
He has learned the Roman modes to ape.
But all his jealous care is vain,
Love always knows his ends to gain;
That god will sure espouse our cause,
He still protects who keeps his laws;
For you have given me your heart,
And can't refuse me any part.
Head On
As soon as i get my head around you
I come around catching sparks off you
I get an electric shock from you
This secondhand living just won't do
And the way i feel tonight
I could die and i wouldn't mind
And there's something going on inside
Makes you wanna feel
Makes you wanna try
Makes you wanna blow the stars from the sky
And i can't stand up
I can't cool down
I can't get my head off the ground
As soon as i get my head around you
I come around catching sparks off you
And all i ever got from you
Was all i ever took from you
Yeah, the world could die in pain
And i wouldn't feel no shame
And there's nothing holding me to blame
Makes you wanna feel
Makes you wanna try
Makes you wanna blow the stars from the sky
And i'm taking myself to a dirty part of town
Where all my troubles can't be found
I said yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
And i'm taking myself to a dirty part of town
Where all my troubles can't be found
Makes you wanna feel
Makes you wanna try
Makes you wanna blow the stars from the sky

Ashes To Ashes
When you finally pass away,
Remember that's when not if,
Regardless of how you've got to say,
It'll be strange just lying there stiff.
Will you be able to hear what's going on?
As your relatives look down on you,
By what they're saying will you feel put upon,
Will there be many or perhaps just a few.
The comments you'll have heard before,
On many a sombre occasion,
To some just being there will be such a chore,
As inside they'll be filled with elation.
Some will be saying, ‘' Thank God he's dead ‘'
As they give your wife a wry smile,
‘' I always said he was off his head ‘'
Your reputation they'll try to defile.
Then there'll be those who genuinely care,
Mainly family members and friends,
They'll all be crying, this just isn't fair,
A broken heart never mends.
There will be the usual funeral crowd,
Just out for a meal and a bevy,
After a few drinks they'll start to get loud,
The conversation will then turn heavy.
It wouldn't be a funeral without a good fight,
After a session the battle begins,
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right,
It's the price you pay for your sins.
Did he leave me any money or perhaps his house?
Who is getting his big fancy car?
Though I always thought of him as a low down louse,
Taking his cash I would never debar.
In this cruel world there are hypocrites galore,
Funerals seem to bring out the best,
Seeing their crocodile tears is hurtful it's sore,
I'm not ready to be laid to rest.
Though I've never been near a Church in years,
For some reason that's where I'm interred,
The very thought of it has me in tears,
My demise I now wish they'd deferred.
I was promised I'd be buried and felt elated,
All my wishes would finally come true,
But the deadbeats are having me cremated,
If I could I'd knock them all black and blue.
They're saying I'm off to a better place,
How in Gods name would they know?
I'd be happier if my previous life they'd replace,
I'll be glad to let one of them go.
This dying is not what it's cracked up to be,
The wife's saying it's the quietest I've been,
What in the world does she expect of me,
I'm deceased that's why I look so serene.
I've accepted I'm dead now it's my time to go,
I won't stay in a place I'm not wanted,
For your treatment of me I must let you know,
I'll ensure forever more you'll be haunted.
I may end up Heaven or it could be Hell,
Though Gods rules I don't believe I've abused,
Depending on the judge, who can tell,
All these religions have got me confused.
Well it's finally time I'm now on my way,
All I can see are bright flashes,
Will I live to fight another day?
Or will it be Just,
‘' Ashes To Ashes ‘'
