Bedside Viduals For Who?
bedside given viduals
for dead or dying
which comforts most?
deathwatch by windows
love watch by night
with a final kiss good night
in order to help
beloved deceased
you must raise
your deceased
from death
soul delivered
funerals for family friends
to pay public last respects
funerals are for the living
their shaking hands
oft in darkness held
in fear solemn viduals
love for the living
still life possibilities clinging
dead feel nothing

Love Respects
Love respects everyone always,
Love respects everyone's way of life,
Everyone's way of living needs respect,
Love respects everyone always :)
Love respects everyone's opinions,
Love helps us understand everyone's choices,
Respecting everyone's choices encourages understanding,
Love respects everyone's opinions :)
Love respects our needs and desires,
Love knows our needs include respect,
Our desires need respect to be understood,
Love respects our needs and desires :)
Love respects family always,
Love understands a families' influence,
Our parents' decisions need respect,
Love respects family always :)

White Funeral
sitting alone with nowhere to go
ignoring the static from the radio
that interrupts my favorite song
haven’t loved it in so long
some say love is a foolish thing
and although not in all cases
i can’t help but agree
with the smarter majority
so many weddings
just white funerals
a hand to hold
for the rest of her life
open to the bliss
and the carelessness
be careful, more careful
does it still feel right
i’ll apologize in all the places
where i frowned at all the smiling faces
i just wonder if that will be me
with a wedding dress and a history
so much thought in an august moment
i’m living in my favorite season
but winter’s here, and taking control
as we let the rest of our days unfold
so many weddings
just white funerals
someone she barely knows
becomes her life
open to neglect
and disrespect
that comes with the one
she loved last night
i think of someone i know
better than anyone
i think i’ll be more optomistic
when this is done
can’t help but to think
that my white funeral
won’t be a funeral at all
because i know him
she doesn’t know him
so many weddings
just white funerals
but i’m so glad
that won’t be mine
open to his
fuffilled promises
he knows who i am
we’ll be fine
the white funeral is over
the bride’s been burried
in her own mistake

Ancient Holy Words Console The Living
Beautiful words holy compassion,
funerals are not just for the dead,
they are also to help and console
the living in family formal respect.
To aid to support the living who must
live carry on continue in community.
Heartfelt words console, rich memories,
time helps heal hearts which give love.

Family First
Friends may come and friends may go
Family is first and this I know
Putting friends first is a mistake
And not one that you should make
Family’s forever and this I know
Friends enter your life and then they go
Making friends is fun trust me with this
But not something you would miss
Love your family while they are here
Keep their love very near
Family can leave the world at any time
So don’t make yourself feel like slime
Family is here to comfort you
I know your friends do this too
Without your family you would be lost
Hold on to them no matter the cost

My Life's Work
My life's work will now be,
To go care for those who are unhappy;
To comfort those, who are injured or ill,
To be the lay preacher, but obey God still.
My life's work will include, writing too,
But! The poetry will be comfort for you;
If you have been abused, or in trauma as well,
Maybe you're just needing a rest for a spell.
My life's work, will include funerals too,
Also to marry people, I may be there for you;
All I want is to do what God wants me to do,
Spreading the message to all, God loves you.

They Show Up In Droves At Funerals
I know of a place,
Where people know others
By what has been told to them.
People will say, 'Oh, I know 'them'.
I heard this and that! '
And they have had not one convesation at all.
Not with that person.
Even those related...
However they are related.
'See' each other their entire lives...
And know absolutely nothing about the other.
However...
They show up in droves at funerals.
To make pointless conversations.
And roll their eyes at those...
Because someone said they said something,
About someone else.
And they had the 'nerve' to appear to pay
Their respects!
These places exist.
Without conversations being shared,
By either the ones who have departed...
Or,
By those standing in line to feed themselves...
During the repast!
Some will take food to go.
As if at a fast food restaurant!

I Don't Like Flowers
I don't like flowers - they do remind me often
Of funerals, of weddings and of balls;
Their presence on tables for a dinner calls.
But sub-eternal roses' ever simple charm
Which was my solace when I was a child,
Has stayed - my heritage - a set of years behind,
Like Mozart's ever-living music's hum.
