Steams Of Thoughts One Thursday Afternoon
things that amaze you
sometimes your hands holding on
to something too tightly yet
you hold not a grain of those beans
spilling all over your feet
the sound of violin playing slowly
at the opening and then faster
at the end
your feet cannot hold the dance
hidden inside your heels
you step and tiptoe on the street
as people gaze at you
a girl looks attentively and sways her head
saying it does not look good for a woman
at 45 still behaving like a
child what a shame she says when she
behaves like a woman
despite the pinches that she receives from
mother and there is the man who dusts off
a tinderbox as he finally finds his
hidden treasure his toy soldiers all stuff
like that taken away from him when
he was once a young boy beaten almost
to death by a cruel father.

Johnny Was (feat. Guru)
[Bob Marley (attributed to Rita Marley)]
(Wo-o-o-o! Wo-o-o-o! Wooo!)
Woman hold her head and cry,
'Cause her son had been shot down in the street and died
From a stray bullet.
Woman hold her head and cry;
Explaining to her was a passerby
Who saw the woman cry (cry)
Wondering how can she work it out,
Now she knows that the wages of sin is death, yeah!
Gift of Jah is life. (life)
She cried: Ah-um, I - I know!
"Johnny was a good man," I - I know! (never did a thing wrong)
"Johnny was a good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good,
good, good, good man", (Johnny was good man)
she cried - she crie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ied!
Wo-ooh! Woman hold her head and cry,
As her son had been shot down in the street and died
Just because of the system. (system)
Woman hold her head and cry;
Comforting her I was passing by.
She complained, then she cry:
Oh-ooh-wo-ah, cry (ah-ah), yeah, I know now (ah-ah),
no I know, I know now: (Johnny was a good man)
Said I know, mm-mm-mm-mm-mm. (Never did a thing wrong)
Ah! Ah! (Johnny was a good man)
Can a woman tender care, she cried, (Never did a thing wrong)
Cease towards the child she bear? (Johnny was a good man)
Wo-ho-ho-ooh! Woman cry, woman - (Never did a thing wrong)
She cried, wo-oh! She cried, yeah! (Johnny was a good man)
Can a woman tender care
Cease towards the child she bear? (Never did a thing wrong)
Wo-now, cry! (Johnny was a good man)

Her Hidden Treasure
Her flame was only for the women –
Not for us unlucky men;
A weakness lay for feminine way:
To feel an even fairer skin
In silky slide.
Her lips were for the satin love that
Only flows from rising breast;
The creamy tan was not for man
To pull towards a chiselled chest
In weathered hide.
Her hidden treasure down below
Would shy away from macho length
And only rouse upon the blouse
Undone by other sapphic strength –
In time, inside!

Young Girl
Young girl Abused and broken
Young girl Alone and Frightened
Young girl Worthless and Ugly
Young girl feels so alone
She has no one to hold her
Young girl's father to drunk to even care
The young girl gets beaten everyday
The young girl wanting to runaway
Young girl will not leave her father alone
Like he has done to her
This young girl's teacher has a note
She reads the note aloud to the class
This young girl was beaten to death
No one had the guts to save her
This young girl bruised and dead
This young girl buried in the cold ground
This young girl has no one to visit her grave
No one asked her how she got her bruises
No one even took a second chance
Goodbye young girl fly away into the arms of God
For He loved you and always will
This young girl happy again

Kentucky Woman
Kentucky woman
She shines in her own kind of light
She looks at you once in a day
And whats wrong is alright
And I love her,
God knows I love her
Kentucky woman
She gets to know you
She gets to hold you
Kentucky woman
She aint the kind to turn
At the drop of her name
Well all the things she does
They turn you on just the same
And I love her,
God knows I love her
Kentucky woman
She gets to know you
She gets to hold you
Kentucky woman
I dont want much
The good lords earth beneath my feet
A gentle touch
Cause that one girl in life is sweet and good
There aint no doubt, Im talking about
Kentucky woman
She gets to know you
She gets to hold you
Kentucky woman
Kentucky woman she shines in her own kind of light
She looks at you once in a day
And whats wrong is alright
And I love her, yes I do, I love her
Kentucky woman
She gets to know you
She gets to hold you

Buddhist Lesson # 2
enlightment,
the act of opening,
like a rosebud,
like a mother,
opening the door...
like a child
opening a present,
like a woman
opening to a man....
opening...
all the hidden chambers,
every door to every
secret kingdom of the soul.....
opening the box that holds
your secret thoughts, desires....
opening...
the door of the cage,
letting the winged breath fly....
opening....
your heart to itself,
and to all hearts beating....
opening....
the vault of conceptions,
the entrance to the tomb
of past lives and memories....
opening...
your hands to the world
as if it were your neighbor,
and you, it's home!

Hold Your Head Up
And if its bad
Dont let it get you down
You can take it
And if it hurts
Dont let them see you cry
You can make it
Just hold your head up woman
Hold your head up woman
Hold your head up woman
Hold your head high
Hold your head up woman
Hold your head up woman
Hold your head up woman
Hold your head high
And if they stare, just let them
Burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout, dont let it change
A thing that youre doing
Hold your head up ...

Hold On To Everything
surely you have hands and surely you know how to use
your hands
like holding on tightly to joys and sorrows
holding on to pains and reliefs
holding on to misgivings and thanksgivings
and hate and love and giving and taking and speaking and silence
you hold on to whatever
in the place where you are an alien
to all things honorable and miserable, defeats and triumphs,
losses and gains, you must hold on, you must tightly hold on
to life.

Man To Woman
Girl, when the moon across the water starts to rise
Ill be looking for tomorrow and Ill see it in your eyes
Girl, though the strongest heartll shatter in a storm
Now we got this love that we can run to
Tonight, Ill keep you warm
(chorus)
Man to woman
When youre lying next to me
Man to woman
Girl youre everything I need
Hold on, well always be
Always you and me
Hold me close
Youre the nearest thing to heaven that Ive known
I can feel the fire that burns inside you
Look how this love has grown
(chorus)
Man to woman (man to woman)
Man to woman (man to woman)
Just say well always be
Always you and me
I wanna hold you in the night
Cant you see
That Im just livin for your light
I want the world to know
I cant let you go
(chorus)
Man to woman (man to woman)

Two, three steps ahead before me
wonder i receive the dream that leads me to see the three steps
ahead before my first step landed in the sand, gaze i believe is
a footprint, slowly drifted to each feet passing wave along the
shore
the future never stop, moving forward where the direction of the
sun goes by, and the air that touches every high and low tide, the
heavens breathe moisturizing face of the clouds beneath the
cooling face of the sun
oh! let my foot gallops every feet i step, the endless distance take
me there, and my hands pointed me to reach; a place where my
feet has to take it rest, beautiful land that almost all have gone, so
friendly that every one want have to save, the hands that hold
every other hands to step, each footprint i take and lead me to a
little mark in the dunning sand, gently hold to my foot to the
dream land i want to step
open wide my inner pulse i remembered, the two feet i have, make
it three, sight comes so quickly, like lightning my eye have seen,
the two steps i touch, somebody carried me, and extra footprints
watches me, even angels touches my feet
the future is friendly; lovely to see, though it’s empty, but then full
of memory and easy, just leave it to God....the footprints you'll
see count it three.... two from God and one from the angel....and
sure you'll be carried away
be the first step in going to the Father's home; the very breath
you take, will takes you there and the paradise of today will soon
bring us to the future of no return

Stay With Me
Vietnam was 66
Two best friends take a bad hit
And never saw it come
But its all there
One was a rich boy, a doctors son
The other the father of a girl age one
Never had the change to hold his daughters hand
New york flat in 76
Two girlfriends shoot a bad fix
Never woke up saw heaven before it saw them
One was a daughter of a prominent man
The other the mother of a girl age ten
Who walked in and saw mama sleeping in gods hands
And she cried
Chorus
Stay with me
Mama wont you stay here with me
You promised you would never leave
Stay with me
Oh wont you stay here with me
Mama, hold my had and stay with me
Years go by, the girls 23
Had a rough go, but shes on her feet
The man so rough
A few good years, a wedding ring
Wasnt enough to fulfill his dreams
He came home from work one day and said Im leaving you
She cried...
Chorus
Stay with me, honey
Wont you stay right here with me
You promised you would never leave
Stay with me, whoa whoa
Stay right here with me
Wont you hold my hand stay with me

A woman cried out as the child is born
She stares into eyes and says
My lifes had its ups and downs
But for yours I will be around
I will always be around
And she cried

Wont you stay right here with me
I promise I will never leave

Child, you hold my had stay with me
Child, you hold my hand stay with me.

An Epic Of A Mother
when night felt deep in the main street of that bordering town, when streets were dipping in profound silence, we were in search of news moving aimlessly from here to there we met that mother, rather, we met that family unit some years ago.
a scratched man of broken images guides the woman with a girlbaby on her lap, clients appeared from the dark to bargain woman's flesh, the scratched man fixed the rate holding the girl of three years from her lap to him and allowed the woman to go with them.
the woman went to a deserted dark marketarea just beside the mainroad, during this break we appeared immediately in front of that man that broken man and learned he was the father of that little girl, husband of that mother-woman whom he sold for temporary shot-contact to be vamped her warm and salt, to be cooked her flesh and flexibility.
just we met that night with that woman that mother and also learned her dream was her girl-child would grow-up as a dignified woman which needs a lot of money, so she used to run on that underground track, she also knew her husband, the girl child's father physically not fit to meet her demand of purchasing the so-called dignity one need to acquire from human society.
when that woman the mother talked with us, the street lamp showed us her eyes were glittering with her dream of a glorious future of her three years old girlchild whom she loved more than herself.
where she now I don't know, but this epic I send for the readers of my site to pray for her specially for this day.

I Am Not A Woman...
I am not a woman that loves with a heart
I am not a woman that's silly and smart
I am not a woman with open wounds
I am not a woman that's more attuned
I am not a woman that you hold dear
I am not a woman that has no fear
I am not a woman that's loved or lost
I am not a woman that doesn't know the cost
I am not a woman that's hurting inside
I am not a woman that has no foolish pride
I am not a woman that can't look you in the eye
I am not a woman alone that cries
I am not a woman that's imprisoned with chains
I am not a woman that holds her will in vain
I am not a woman, or mother, or friend
or wife, or daughter, or one to depend
I am not a woman of all and more
Because I gave it away to the one I adore
what's left is all you see
Just a woman that truly believes
Family
There's a child inside
A man inside
A woman inside
A sage inside
A mother inside with breasts of love
A father inside with hands of care
A child inside beautifully caressed
A mother inside with the wing of dove
A father inside the flight to share
A child inside with parents blessed
A sage inside with a peaceful face
The peace to bestow in all its grace

Looking Upon A Child
looking upon a child i compress my years
like how i keep the lines confined inside my palms.
i stop for while following where the child goes.
his hands are buds, his feet as small as a saki cup.
his eyes as innocent as an oil lamp waking on a dark night.
his hair are soft and silky like a kitten fur
his sounds like the arrival of morning on the grass.
i hold his tiny hands and i am back to my senses.
he calls my name, but i am no longer there.
i am back to my room. It is as crowded as a storehouse
with papers and books and chairs and used clothes hanging
on the beams and walls. Some old figurines bathed with dusts.
Some dried spittle on the floor. Some unopened off-white pages
filled with age.
i wonder, despite this crowd of things and thoughts,
despite the fullness of the wind from the window
there is still the wide vacancy of space. Inside the heart longs.
Inside the sound howls. Inside something so faint shouts.
It is the sound of the child still calling my name.
It is looking for me and i am never complete.

One October Left
One October left
Scared to death
Hold your breath
Don't know what's next
Minds will never rest
Protect, we must
Dawn and dusk
Hidden under
Layars of dust
Finally answering
Quests of trust
Lessons we learn
Fire will burn
Dying with our every turn
Silent, hidden
Never sure
One October left
Scared to death
Hold your breath
Holding on
Until the end

What is Sometimes Hidden.
Just as Minnie gets in the mood
to play the Debussy Violin
Sonata her mother says the
photographer is waiting and
so she has to go along to the
lounge and pose and have her
picture taken and as she stands
there with her violin dressed
to the nines the photographer
says no do not smile it cheapens
the effect and so she stiffens
her lips and stares at the young
photographer's moustache and
her mother says do has the man
wants dear and don't pout so
and so she ceases to pout and
gazes at the box camera and man
hidden behind the cloth his hand
visible and do not move he says
hold it do not fidget dear her
mother says and puts her hands
on her shoulders and places her
in the position her mother thinks
the photographer wants is that it?
her mother asks the photographer
smiling in that way she smiles that
gives the impression of an imbecile
yes yes he says that is it and so she
stands as placed the sensation of
wanting to urinate suddenly upon
her and so she squeezes her thighs
together her knees touching her
hands gripping the violin trying
silently to keep the urine in.

A choice
My feet are heavy
To an early church mass
And my hands caress them
When she is gone finally
My feet become lighter
And my hands stopped pretending
Then the real loving begins
Alone, this window opens
There my love
Lurks posing as a nude woman
Her arms opening to take me in
& through this window
Some yellow butterflies with black edges on its wings
A little larger than my thumb
Circle over my head.

The Grenadain Woman
Yes me woman, from my womb life was borne
Yes me woman, the young ones prune by my hands
Yes me woman, with the coves that sways with the redeem of the heart beat, tup-tup, tup-tup, tup-tup, tup-tup
Yes me woman, with beauty unimaginable, soft to the touch
yes me woman, with the voice of a heavenly being, soft, gentle, comforting, encouraging
Yes me woman, determine to succeed with the strength from above
Yes me woman, the days have gone, long gone for her to depend on the strength of another man
Yes me woman, her time has come for the world to see her for who she really is
Yes me woman, creative, innovative, confident, intelligent, loving, kindhearted
Yes me woman, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, lover
Yes me woman, The Grenadian woman.

Hold On
Hold on, girl, ooh, girl, hold on.
Girl, lets rock around the clock, we can dance and never stop.
Come on, girl, just hold on tight, I know you wanna rock tonight.
Through the night into the day we could chase our blues away,
So grab a hold, dont lose control, I really know you got the soul.
Hold on, girl, hold on, ooh, girl, hold on.
Hold on, girl, hold on, ooh, girl, hold on.
Girl, the feelings in the air, dont you know, its everywhere.
Everywhere around the block people dance until they just cant stop.
Through the night....
Hold on, girl, hold on, ooh, girl, hold on (repeat & fade)

I Dance Alone
I dance alone with the night,
the moon holding me close,
beneath the starlight.
My feet moving slow to every
sad song I know, playing over
and over, as alone I go.
The night embraces me and
the winds whisper sad
words to me.
I dance with the tears that fall
from my eyes, they help
me make it through the
lonely nights.
Sighs, I hear in the distance,
as I dance within darkness,
shadows move slowly, as
I miss your tender kiss.
One step, spinning around, breezes
capture my heart, as to the long
night I am bound.
Broken memories spilling on
the ground, as this heartache,
twirls me around.
Wrapped in the arms of the night,
this dance must go on, as without
you again, I dance alone.
