Murmurs Of The Rainy Mind...
the shadows of my
mind
need not be
the shadows of my
body
the spirit longs for
more
of its much needed
solitude
in crisis
it states what it has long
desired
that which the body
keeps on denying
genuflecting knees
hitting hands
bloody backs
worn feet
torn palms
broken limbs
the words come out
much different from a
thirsty mouth
it is not the word
it is the act that tells you more
it is what is done
it is not what is said
there is a house in that far mountain
it rests upon its feet
no one lives there
a stranger cloud sometimes comes a drifting
it sees the emptiness of the surrounding
the humid bedroom it feels though from a distance
and just like the rest who knows
they take refuge in the silence
words are never to be trusted
it is merely the sigh of the falling rain
sometimes you hear the tapping of the rain inside your mind
and you look outside
there the sun shows you
what sometimes are illogical

Light Breeze
As regards feeling pain, like a hand cut in battle,
consider the body a robe you wear.
When you meet someone you love, do you kiss their clothes? Search out who's inside.
Union with God is sweeter than body comforts.
We have hands and feet different from these. Sometimes in dream we see them.
That is not illusion. It's seeing truly. You do have a spirit body;
don't dread leaving the physical one. Sometimes someone feels this truth so strongly that he or she can live in mountain solitude totally refreshed.
The worried, heroic doings of men and women seem weary and futile to dervishes enjoying the light breeze of spirit.
Like The Rain
I never liked the rain until I walked through it with you
Every thunder cloud that came was one more I might not get through
On the darkest day theres always light and now I see it too
But I never liked the rain until I walked through it with you
I hear it falling in the night and filling up my mind
All the heavens rivers come to light and I see it all unwind
I hear it talking through the trees and on the window pane
And when I hear it I just cant believe I never liked the rain
Like the rain I have fallen for you and I know just why you
Liked the rain always calling for you Im falling for you now
Just like the rain
When the cloud is rolling over thunder striking me
Its as bright as lightning and I wonder why I couldnt see
That its always good and when the flood is gone we still remain
Guess Ive known all along I just belong here with you falling
Like the rain I have fallen for you and I know just why you
Liked the rain always calling for you, Im falling for you now
Just like the rain I have fallen for you
Im falling for you know just like the rain
And when the night falls on our better days
And were looking to the sky
For the winds to take us high above the plains
I know that well find better ways to look into the eye
Of the storms that will be calling
Forever well be falling
Like the rain I have fallen for you, and I know just why you
Like the rain always calling for you, Im falling for you now just
Like the rain I have fallen for you and I know just why you
Like the rain always calling for you, Im falling for you now just
Like the rain I have fallen for you and I know just why you
Like the rain always calling for you, Im falling for you now just
Like the rain
Like the rain
Like the rain
Like the rain
Like the rain
Like the rain

All I Needed Was The Rain
(words & music by ben weisman - sid wayne )
Hello misfortune, hows my old friend mr. misery?
Ive been away so long I bet you think you saw the last of me
Got no bed, to rest my head
No doors or walls or window pane
Now all I needed was the rain
Rain, rain, rain, rain
Met a little honey at the buzzin bumble bee cafe
Yes I did
One drink and all my money and that honey bee had flown away
Im bout as low, as I can go
I dont really mean to complain
Now all I needed was the rain
Rain, rain...rain..rain
All I needed was this rain...
All I needed was the rain...um..um.....

I Like To Think That All These Are But A Game Of Words
that is the impression from the beginning
when i started to scribble
word, and more words, i assured her that they do not
mean anything at all just
words, and words and more words
that even a sunflower wilting and spreading all the seed on her feet
are nothing too but words and more words
nothing to grow nothing to expect like a sprouting something
thus my loneliness, i again assure here, is nothing but a word
my way of taking solitude on the other side to save myself
is another word, and she of course, did not believe me saying
there is more to these words, there is fire in them and i see you burning
there is the sun inside them and the letters glow and the
there is smoke rising from the heads of vowels
from the nonspeaking consonants
i keep hiding the flowers
i bury those that are alive in the silence of my pretensions
until one day she grips me like she is a knife wanting to stab me
and then she stabbed me right in my throat and there i bleed
words, words, and more words coming from the slit
bloody words, and she was convinced, until death, ... and then i vanish.

Between You And Me....
there could have been a bridge
even just a word to connect us and form a ring
a hollowness between
a hole
where both of us can pass through
and then leave all these
between a you and
i, there must be a word to describe
that wish for closeness
the intimacy that nudity speaks about
my hands clothe your body and make you another body
between my body and your body
there must at least be a syllable to make a sound of this silence between us
we hear a faint music of a distant phonograph
between us is a phrase
between us is an incomplete clause thirsty
of meaning
this unsatisfactory of ordinary humanity
this imperfection between us a word a bridge a rainbow an arrow
inside us are wounds and maggots
outside us are the words of laughter written off in air.

Rain comes again
Rain comes again
My coat is wet
With winks willing
To be a mystery
On the other day
Of rain shakes
The glass and I’m
Caught between
The mirror till
Now is now
Let it rain
Rain rain
Come back again
Till I put my
Wet booths on
And rain all
Over you rain
Rain comes end wise
Stay come and stay
Rain rain
The sky is gone
Cleaning rain
Insane with game
In town silence
Your name as
If you own me
Owing only to pace
Of our love
I drag you
Into tomorrow
Into rain rain
Silence your name
Across my chest
We missed the
Wood where
The dust hangs
High and far
Into the rain
Your feet
The darkness
Simplified the soul
That kills the rain
Rain and I
Have not been
A man who man me
Shall I tell
The rain the
Name of the game
My right to be
Is haunting bound
And this steel
Bound steel is
Bending under
The rain and
The wishes is blown
Again this year
And I will
Return to me
My homeland
No grave holds me
No grave can
Hold my body
Down this body
Is still my home of bones
And with it
I am strong
To return to
Me my homeland
A grace of home my
Body down.

The Role Of Grief Via Silence....
for as long as grief
does not leave you
silence will always speak louder
than any
shouts of joy or whispers of romance
silence is that brick on the road
cars are disturbed by its red elegance
women find it not just for the house
little in-significances
life is more chiseled this time
refined garments
perfumed feet
shiny white fingernails
drops of rain beneath the soiled feet
for as long as grief hovers on
unrequited love
there will always be more to tell
not in words not in words
it is the silence
that dwells on the wounded lips
it is the silence
that creeps in the heart
deadens the tongue
glowing soul, winged spirit without wounds
now, pure joy like light dispersed
in black skies

Tastes (Dreaming)
i went for years without dreaming,
or at least so i thought.
i wake up with tastes,
so simple that i'd forgotten.
the whisper of the rain,
weaves a web around my soul.
and there are voices in the shadows,
shadows that build small fires.
perhaps prayer is a form of memory,
a language we no longer understand.
and the body, a cage, or just a shell,
for a bird with broken wings!
then love, the body plowed,
the spirit bursts in bloom.
i taste like grapes,
too long fermented...
you taste like ashes,
and me!

Words Cause Pain
Rain drops are falling on my head
rain rain rain
it's just hiding the tears on my face
rain rain rain
why can't it hide the pain?
rain rain rain
for God sake go away and come back another day
every dropp that falls on my body hurts
what hurts more are does words that people say
sometime i just wish they just take it all away
words hurts! its causes pain! !
but people don't care
they don't care about the pain that you're feeling
having you feeling down on yourself, makes you said and cry
what they don't know is those words could make someone wants to die
next thing you know, have some one commiting suicide
this all could happen over words that people say
makes you build up this pain that you cant control
that pain that will never make you whole
it will tear you apart
rip your heart apart
those are words that'll bring tears
words that cause fears
rain rain rain
please stop!
let the sun come out
so that the world could see my pain.

Me the instrument
Music is in my mind
Iam full of glee
My fingers tapping the table
While my palms beat as a drum
My lips pucker and being to whistle
Iam really feeling this souful strum
My feet tapping the floor
It is really fun
Allowing my body to be an instrument
As I gaze at sun
For there is music on the inside
A harmonic hum
If I gave this instrument a name
Iam not quiet sure what it would be
Therefore to keep things simple and
From becoming complicate
I shall simply term this authentic instrument as Me

The House
there is no other place to go
after work
when the darkness of the night
starts to hover
on my roof
this house where i rest my feet
where i put my hands
where i shut my mouth
and you are there
moving from one corner to another
asking where i put some bones
of my body
you sing as you once knew the songs
the ones that i love
that which from where my heart rests
and lulled
this is the house, a mere house
where i put my body
safely
no longer a home
my soul like a little bird had flown somewhere
years ago
i know where it is sleeping
you ask me
but i will not tell you
how will you ever know?
the place
it is so quiet
you are restless and noisy and messy
so loveless
so sad and you keep on laughing taunting
about my loss
my death

Pointy Toes
Pointy toes,
Elegance shows.
A dancer's feet,
Worn and Weary,
A ballerina's feat,
Makes it look easy.
We abuse our feet,
Scrapped till it bites,
We abuse our feet,
Tie knots too tight,
We abuse our feet,
Stand till sore,
We abuse our feet,
Curl like claw.
High heels, tall.
We abuse our feet,
Bound feet small.
Abuse our feet most than rest of body?
Take care, your feet, Everybody.
Pink Clouds Never Rain
I have never see a pink cloud rain before.
I have only seen a magenta bolt of lightening try to strike my heart, and
Aqua tears trickling from my dazzled misty eyes, down my
Flushed and lonesome cheek, though
I have never see a pink cloud rain before.
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before.
I have seen spotted purple snakes crawling up my bedroom walls, and
Transparent bubbles filled with dreams floating before my very eyes, though,
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before.
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before, though
I have seen a reddish sun cast shadows down upon a tortuous, rippling river;
I have seen tears cascading down a sloping hill, and
Gulls flapping their gentle, feathered wings atop some cragged cliffs, although
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before.
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before, although
I have heard eerie and commanding thoughts and voices
That no one else could hear.
I have had disturbing, stabbing thoughts that have injured me inside, though
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before.
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before, although
I have slid down an icy mountainside on a very sunny night.
I have wept a sea of deep blue and purple tears, though
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before.
I have never heard thunder clap behind a rosy cloud, or seen
Tears fall from heaven or have heard angels singing.
I have had morbid thoughts of loss, death and suicide,
While thunder clapped, and
These pink clouds could not rain.
Perhaps someday I shall see a pink cloud rain upon a
Magnificent world, which I have created for myself,
Where tall green and golden reeds are surrounded by swirling water pools, and
A hallucinogenic sun sets behind high and mighty mountains-
And there, people would be trustworthy and true to heart.
No, I have never seen a pink cloud rain before, although,
I have seen almost everything there is to see-
Some good sights and some bad-
I have heard some screaming voices echo in my mind, although,
Some quiet ones as well.
I have seen some orange and, pinkish sunsets, and mirages in
The fortress of my own mind, however-
I have never seen a pink cloud rain before, and
I have never seen a pink cloud weep before….

When The Rain Comes
this i can tell to my nephew
that when the rain comes
all we do is listen to the rhythm
of its own sound
there is music to every dripping
rain at the gutters of
our soul
there is this feeling of having
to be with the cry of the
world
to be wet with its tears
to be divine
and pure
when the rain comes
there is the urge to dance under the sky
to be one with the earth
and rain as the link between the earth
and the sky
our limbs as paths
our feet as thirsty roots
our hands stretching
for more
of what is yet to come

It Is Your Mind
Whatcha’ gonna’ do
When your mind
Takes you
To places… that you
Don’t want
To go?
After all, it is your mind
You should rule it!
Wouldn’t you think that was so?
What do you do when you look
at your partner, and instead
See a stranger in bed with you?
And why does your mind
Seem to always find
A reason to make you feel blue?
What do you do
When you see your house,
yet your mind no longer… sees a home?
What do you do
When in a room full of people
Your mind reminds you… you’re all alone?
What do you do
When your mind makes you
Read aloud… words which once, you were smitten
You put your hands oe’r your ears
To shut out the fears… and the tears
from the words that your mind’s just written

Did I ever think of sex when I write about the rain?
Wading through the rain, naked, and letting the rain fall
On my mouth as I look up to the cloudy skies where the sun
And the moon are missing, drinking the raindrops and letting
My hair go wet and flowing all over my body, walking through
The middle of the road where the waters are deep and cold
On the other side, you wait for me, your arms extending
You look into my glistening eyes, you hold my hand and
You embrace my shivering body, you take me inside your room
You wipe me with your dry towel and serve me tea and give me
The needed company, this misery, this rain crying on the roof
You wrap my body with your arms, you dress me up with your
Oversized shirt and let me wear your worn out blue jeans
We talk a while, you explain something, in truth, we simply
Talk and talk, and when the rain stops, you ask me to leave.

Small,
for under your feet
you do not see the ants
until you
feel the sting of their bites,
the bee
above your head
will its buzz
be enough
for you to mind its
existence?
a flower has no mouth
a mountain has only its belly
a wind simply whispers
the sea as usual have no feet
the clouds have no hands
when will you ever mind them?
until something happens in Tokyo
you must have uttered the word
sea.

Shadows In The Rain
Woke up in my clothes again this morning
Dont know exactly where I am
And I should heed my doctors warning
He does the best with me he can
He claims I suffer from delusions
Yet Im so confident Im sane
It cant be no optical illusion
So how can you explain
Shadows in the rain
And if you see us on the corner
And were dancing in the rain
I join my friends there when I see them
Outside my window pane
Shadows in the rain
Shadows in the rain
Shadows in the rain
Shadows in the rain
Woke up in my clothes again this morning
Dont know exactly where I am
I should heed my doctors warning
He does the best with me he can
Shadows in the rain
Shadows in the rain

The Mouth Devours!
the earth is the body.
humanity, the mouth.
the infinite breathes in the wind.
redemption falls in the rain.
the mountains speak of standing,
standing strong and resolved.
the sky teaches freedom,
the oceans, the womb.
trees wrap their branches in unity,
the grasses sing of equality.
the seasons are the clock,
in the dirt we find the mind.
so why is it then
that the mouth devours,
body, soul, and spirit...
gnawing its own flesh?
words spoken without thought,
hunger that swallows the sky.
lips stained by the grasses,
smeared with the dirt.
the mouth has no eyes,
and little understanding.
yet seeks to control,
and lives to devour!

Collage
Rain is falling and I hear more than I care to- while I am
Seated upon the floor, tearing paper to pieces-
Randomly pasting beside cut outs onto cardboard,
Zebras and kangaroos are hiding
Behind a group of ballerinas while
Two Kenyan woman are quantum jumping?
Irish church towers casting shadows
Upon a garden of daffodils and
Eyes are everywhere, staring from the paper
Into my own eyes- trying to understand me-
Rain is falling upon the rooftop and I hear voices singing death dirges,
Tragic tunes from which there are no escaping.
Magazine cutouts and torn newspaper pieces I glue randomly onto cardboard-
My thoughts are running wild as a caged raccoon.
Through my eyes I see a world out there beyond comprehension
As rain splashes rhythmically upon the sidewalk outside,
Voices inside my mind threaten ill fate, while
The light that once shone upon sallow colored walls has just burnt out.
All I can see now is that piece of cardboard with
Cut out and torn pictures and writing pasted in total disarray-
I paint bright colors over them, trying to demolish all of the pain they represent-
But no amount of paint would obliterate the anger that is ripping at my gut.
I was born with a face that is clear of expression and a body that has been well cared for-
But if one were to open the door to my mind they would find much anger and despair-
Eyes are all about me looking into mine and I cannot escape-
The rain is falling harder now and I keep tearing paper-
Shadows are cast upon yellowed walls and I keep painting torn paper and images.
My thoughts are screaming to be released-
More than those of zebras and kangaroos hiding behind ballerinas dancing-
Or of Kenyan women quantum jumping- or even more than
The clashing pieces of paper and magazine pictures could ever express-
I am falling, falling and falling into a trap- and
There is no outlet for me from which to escape from this delusional world
As so many have called it and I just continue painting bright colors onto cardboard and
Pasting photographs and torn newspaper hoping that one morning
When I awaken and open my eyes there will be
Beautiful pictures upon freshly painted walls-
Pictures that have a theme and a purpose: Then the rain will have stopped falling and
My eyes shall be opened to a world I can understand, the door to my mind
Shall opened as well, so my thoughts can be released to a world that
With all hope can finally understand me-
