Greener Pastures
Youre always tellin me to go out more
Go ahead, get out and see the world
But then I think, why should i
Id rather stay home and cry
I never thought that I could be the other
The other way like the other ones
Let me open wide, let you see inside
And then you might agree
Would you say they find me unstable
cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way to greener pastures and
Think about it, wont you think it over
Please
Without you I can move
I can stretch my arms out, I can feel it
And when Im in my room alone I feel good
Because I dont have to deal with you or the outside world
Would you say they find me unstable
cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way to greener pastures and
Think about it, wont you think it over
Please
I guess Ill get over it
Ooh - I guess Ill get over it
I guess Ill get over it
I guess Ill get over it
Would you say they find me unstable
cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Would you say they find me unstable
cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Would you say they find me unstable
Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Greener pastures
See me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures

Pastures Greener
Sometimes we yearn for pastures greener
than the ones we already share,
virgin territories yet to be explored.
Not all pastures are greener
that the ones we already know,
some are more complicated
and there no flowers will grow.
Sometimes we seek the unattainable
never knowing the dangers that await there.
Sometimes we set our sights too high
and when the bubble burst,
we come tumbling to the ground.
Sometimes love flies in different directions
than the ones we want it to.
Only destiny knows the way
and that way we must choose.

Bluer Pastures
(Dolly Parton)
I was lookin' for greener pastures
When I left my old Kentucky home
I was chasin' after dreams I thought I'd master
So I left the one that loved me all along
Thinkin' only of myself and doin' better
Didn't care about the grief I left behind
Didn't even make a card or write a letter
So sure I'd be successful in no time
Now I'm heading for bluer pastures
And back to the one who's heart I broke
To the bluegrass state of Kentucky
Where he waits with open for me I hope
Ain't it funny how you are when you're younger?
How what you have is never good enough
How the years will find you searchin' through your plunder
Lookin' for the treasures you gave up
Well the seasons came, they went
The dreams all shattered
While the grass just stayed a lonely shade of brown
Then I realized I'd lost all that had mattered
So with foolish pride aside, I'm homeward bound
Now I'm heading for bluer pastures
And back to the one who's heart I broke
To the bluegrass state of ole Kentucky
Where he waits with open for me I hope
Now I'm heading for bluer pastures
Where the bluegrass waves sweetly in the wind
Where the bluegrass music's always playin'
To the haunting sound of Monroe's mandolin
I'm heading for bluer pastures

Green
Sometime ago we broke up for no reason I know
Why do I have this feeling youre still in control
Im confused like Im used to whenever Im in trouble again
But this time I have to grow up and learn to decide
The grass is greener on your side
It was always greener on your side
It will always be greener on your side
Im way too nervous to be patient right now
Why do I have this feeling Im not in control
The price that I pay for in my almost obsessive devotion you see
Is much higher than I would ever expect it to be
The grass is greener on your side
It was always greener on your side
It will always be greener on your side
It will always be greener on your side x5
The grass is greener on your side
It was always greener on your side
It will always be greener on your side

Green And Greener
Reminiscent of dark days
When ancestors were
Fettered and ferried
Across oceans
Into servitude
In distant lands
Pent-up compatriots
Sleep at embassies
Waiting to pay
Through their noses
For admission
Into subjugation
Indignation
And discrimination.
With time
They realise
A bitter truth
That greener pastures
Are not grazed
Freely
They demand sweat
And humiliation
Even blood
In moments
Of xenophobic outbursts.
Disappointed
Like the prodigal son
They remember
This green land
They left behind
And conclude
That afterall
With the same devotion
And energy
Expended elsewhere
They could do much
In making this pasture
Much more greener.

Sonnet: Nothing Is Permanent
Some friends have left; some more are leaving too;
To greener pastures, grass, more succulent;
I wonder when comes turn to me, to you;
And if it comes, I'm sure, we won't relent.
'Tis sad that people never realize,
That all Indians are brothers and sisters;
And yet they cheat them by the game of dice;
Tho' honesty in this world sure matters.
'Ask not what your country has done for you;
Ask what you have done for it”-it is said;
The reverse saying with time becomes true;
For life is short before each one is dead.
If head is right, the tail will wag but slight;
If tail is right, the head can't show its might.

A Request That You Simply Mind Your Own Business...
there is this tail end
of the wind that tells you
that the journey
was never smooth and easy
there are eddies of the mind
that must finally tell you that
oh well,
not every thing has been alright
that there are no clearer ponds except those that you have not really gone to
oh yes, far pastures are always greener than we think
or that, you never really understand what one had gone through
all those fast flying years
these goddamn quick years that leave us with nothing
but suppressed memories
which still carry the needles in their hands and prick us on those
empty nights
at the height of this upheaval
you still have no right to grasp
what details are there
go somewhere else
and read between the armpits of these lines
there is this Notice on the Wall which tells you
with accuracy (and even warn you about respect)
(i.e. to simply mind your own business, ok?)

Sunmonu
Youthful and enthusiasm,
Moving away to seek greener pastures;
But, they should know of the dangers in this business.
My name is Sunmonu and,
I am still thinking of the promise that i made to you;
But, thses people are risking their lives! !
And like the darkness of the sadness of the heart.

Sad Times
i surf the face book of old faces
i was very thin then, and silent looking
my eyes are still sharp and i remember
not one of you wants to speak to me.
your hair was curly and you sat next
to the girl who said she really loved me
the other one kept the teasing
making the match that i did not mind
the last girl was as thin as myself
but ate her words about staying
patriotic.
After graduation i left immediately
someone promised to kill me in the city
so i left for the hills for i have my friends there.
i was so afraid and needing all support.
The rest of you went out of the country
looking for greener pastures, married
old and having only one child with
blonder hairs. I look at the pictures
again. Time passed so quickly. As
quick as thunder, and lighting. I got
hit, and i feel dying. I am here with
no definite plans, no place to go except
old age, and a mortuary insurance all
paid up.

Tethered
We tether our mind
in fields of our own making
never letting it stray
into fresh and greener pastures.
We limit our reaches
instead of letting our imagination
soar into boundaries unlimited.

Realities and Illusions...
far pastures are always
greener
the sea out there beyond
this horizon is
deep blue
in our deserts
there is a show of mirages
floating princesses
hazy kingdoms
air fantasies
others are so realistic
and perhaps luckier
they always love what is here
and care for
the now
the distance is an illusion
beyond us is
a rarefaction
light bends and begins
to lie...

On the Boundary
I Love the ancient boundary-fence,
That mouldering chock-and-log.
When I go ride the boundary
I let the old horse jog
And take his pleasure in and out
Where the sandalwood grows dense,
And tender pines clasp hands across
The log that tops the fence.
’Tis pleasant on the boundary-fence,
These sultry summer days;
A mile away, outside the scrub,
The plain is all ablaze,
The sheep are panting on the camps,
The heat is so intense;
But here the shade is cool and sweet
Along the boundary-fence.
I love to loaf along the fence,
So does my collie dog,
He often finds a spotted cat
Hid in a hollow log;
He’s very near as old as I
And ought to have more sense,
I’ve hammered him so many times
Along the boundary-fence.
My mother says that boundary fence
Must surely be bewitched;
The old man says that through that fence
The neighbours are enriched;
It’s always down, and through the gaps
Our stock all get them hence,
I takes me half my time to watch
The doings of that fence.
But should you seek the reason
You won’t travel very far,
’Tis there a mile away among
The murmuring Belar:
The Jones’s block joins on to ours,
And so, in consequence,
It’s part of Polly’s work to ride
Their side the boundary-fence.

Green
You opened the door,
I let myself in.
Between you and me,
I only believe
What I want to believe.
I guess its because im
Greener than green.
Only because Im green.
(repeat 2x)
I came up to your floor
You were dressed just a little
Obscene.
And it shut me down
Quite sexually
Like a pre-adolescent
Becuase Im greener than green.
Only because greener then green.
Only because Im green.

more social...a part of Thoreau
The wild goose is more of a cosmopolite than we
he breaks his fast in Canada,
takes a luncheon in the Ohio,
and plumes himself for the night in a southern bayou.
Even the bison, to some extent,
keeps pace with the seasons
cropping the pastures of the Colorado only
till a greener and sweeter grass awaits him
by the Yellowstone.

It Shall Become The Hit Song Tomorrow
you abandon a love song
it hangs on the bus
as you leave home
seeking for greener pastures
out there
lonely
no one picks it up
to take it home
or even
to just whistle it
for the meantime
you will
soon regret
that song
shall become the hit song
tomorrow

Friends Do Not Die
my friends do not die
they may go
and not come back
as in
they're gone for good
seeking greener pastures
as reason
in other continents
with no news from them
but they are still in my heart
and i always remember them
as they also remember me
in their hearts
memories of friendship
live forever
specially those childhood ones
once when the rivers were
clear and clean
when laughter was not shaded
with fear

God's Kingdom
PART 1
[INSPIRED BY LEO TOLSTOY]
More than a hundred years gone
since a thought by this great man
to put an end to man's kingdom
to be a part of god's kingdom
A kingdom which need not bind
bind itself to a boundary
a kingdom which need not safeguard
guarding men need not war over a boundary
a nation without a boundary
a nation which would'nt war for a boundary
would'nt be a man's kingdom
yes...truely a god's kingdom
how do you curb atrocities without a war
India did it fifty years back without a war
Mahatma's ahimsa was an offshoot of Tolstoy's passive resistance
Tolstoy was Gandhi's inspiration

This Is Happening
this is happening now
your eyes stare in an open field
burning like newsprint
it happens as duly predicted
from this room the spilt milk
cries all day
the cows are disturbed
and moving away to the
other greener pastures
the avid listener fed up
and stands to walk away
the cabinet full of unhappiness
comes into the open
you pretend you are sleeping
