Emptiness Is Both An Illusion And An Irony
emptiness is always an illusion
which carries with it an irony.
when i look at it, as its content shows,
it has nothing
bare hands, opening fingers,
an empty transparent ball, it can
tell your future, it can dig your
past,
thinking that it is spacious, i went
inside it, pierce myself though it
only to find that that are so many
crowding elements in there and they
are choking me and you who is looking
outside it, thinks that nothing is happening
but then the struggle is horrible, quick
and even deadly, so many hang themselves in
empty air, and lose their lives, because
you cannot see the body of breathing,
when you learn to live with it however,
you become full, emptiness is its irony,
its antithesis, for how can you ever be full
if you have never known how to empty yourself?
the face of emptiness is a mist, and you touch
it, you will hold a forest, so many black birds,
myriad exotic orchids, so many blending sounds of
trees screaming, of creeks flowing of waterfalls
cascading that you can relate to the locks of
your hair and the hairs of your armpits,
inside it is too personal to be told, outside it
are so many denials with the faces of the people
that you have loved before, and then you decide
to stay at a distance, you are like a tree
dark as a shadow, counting the hours
when the sun finally fades away.

Emptiness Comes
EMPTINESS COMES
Emptiness comes-
There is nothing to say
Nothing to write-
But Nothing is for me only nothing
It is not the goal and the meaning-
Egolessness belongs to saints of a certain kind
I am not a saint-
Emptiness disappears with the writing
Words and meanings come-
I suppose one will be empty forever
When one is alive
What can Emptiness give?
I have written against the Emptiness
And am less empty now for now-
Thank God I no longer feel empty now-

I Am Not Afraid Of Emptiness
i may not have told you, but now i will tell it to you
three times,
girl, i am not afraid of emptiness
the one that walks upon you when you were once this huge
space like a Gothic church with doors like mountains and windows
like continents
the sound of emptiness reverberates like a tin cup
that falls on the iron rails of this room
it fills every nerve that coils upon itself and forms a hand gripping
for waterfalls
it closes the ears and rips every rational entries that your eyes
write in the pages of your journal
it encloses you like a mental jacket of that new patient
at ward 6,
it walls you in like you are a chair inside the congested kitchen
look, who likes the congestion of the spirits?
who likes the choking of the nicks of time?
who likes a light imprisoned in its own flames
burning itself upon itself like a candle consuming both of its ends?
who like the mezzanine filled with letters that you keep
containing love stories of suicide and escape?
look upon your face too crowded with your senses?
it is a forest with trees killing each other for an ounce of light
roots upon roots and leaves upon leaves this world is too crowded
with unraveling thoughts
i am not afraid of emptiness
i like my windows opening all the days of my life
i like doors without locks
stairs without rails, houses without walls and roofs
i live in open space and yes right here inside my heart
i thrive in its empty spaces without the nerves and the veins

Yogic...
searching for clarity
the best of which is an empty slate
that which we mistake sometimes
for clarity actually is one that contains nothing
as though
emptiness is one of those that has
nothing inside it
as though when things are in their fullness
like a flower in full bloom
as though
fullness is mess and must be
avoided
as though fullness is pain and emptiness
is unloading and must heretofore
be marked as the
ballroom
happiness so to speak
messy is noise and the empty window is clear
but the pool of water without the disturbance of the wind
is full and yet
mirrors some clarifications
that you can see your face unadulterated by grief
undiluted by any dropp of lamentation
one dives farther to see what is real and perhaps
sleep for a while
drowsiness of reality
illusion is a little bit tipsy because of so much thoughts
unthink, undream,
unmind.

The Insecurities Of Aging...
the more you age
the more you keep things to yourself
old and new socks are mixed up in one wooden cabinet
somehow you are not using any
it is just the keeping for keeping sake
you are not thinking of any heir of any shoe
you begin to emphasize the importance of empty containers
how each must be filled
an empty cup must have coffee to its brim
an empty room must have someone to talk to
and empty road shall have at least one car making a dusty path
the empty stairs are too fearful to look at
how you hate an empty chair
it can make you sick if no one sits in there in another hour
the hours can be empty too
how can you stop the arms of the clock from taking away the sound
of ticking?
you are sensing a terminal
the train must be full so that you can never experience the
palpitations of being alone
you can hear it like the sounds of korean drums
the cascading waterfalls
the horns of taxis in city traffic
do not dare to stop the inevitable
i assure you... you can't. So? get yourself attuned
have an empty cup and learn to drink from it
you must feign the satisfaction of thirst, because
it can't be long.

Meditation Poem 1 - Emptiness of the Mind
emptiness of the mind
a realm bigger than this head can hold
bigger than dead could hold
it is when you are absorbed in
the blossoming of a night flower
every second it scents time like heaven
emptiness of the mind
it is when your mind fills a huge boulder
like a soul, sprawled over the universe
taking in all with solid stoicism
a desire frozen by coldness
harder to break than rock
emptiness of the mind
it is when your mind cast a bigger mystery
than the black hole
so vast and empty you realise the zen of things
that there are things surviving on emptiness,
just being empty

Empty Holes
Fill up the empty holes in my life.
Fill them before it's too late.
Find the missing qualities I have
and let the emptiness abate.
Recognition of these things I need
must be foremost in my mind.
Or the empty holes that need attention
will probably be left behind.
They will follow me like burned out stars
that cannot shine again.
And the emptiness I feel inside
will mark my journey's end.

I Cried and Stood Upon the Fading Landscape as the Snowstorm Pierced My Heart
With every smile I fake, another part of me
Dies inside, projections of emptiness and utter
Misery appear before me, and scream
Relentlessly for eternity. Candlelit shadows,
My nonexistent soul walks the path of failure,
I see nothing ahead, wrapped around my throat are
The hands of life, the irony pours down from my eyes.
Repress this agony, ignore the fading colors of the sun,
Keep fooling myself into this false realm of empty hope,
And the orchids froze into the blooming December sky.

Empty....
birds of prey
picked the shell like flesh
from my bones till
they were bare...
and that which had echoed
the pounding waves,
and had held the wind...
bare bones, and empty...
no longer an echo,
no longer a cup...
the sound, the waves, the wind...
all empty!
from emptiness we come,
to emptiness we return!

if you leave
leave at once
for i have nothing
to say,
others ask
what to say when someone
you love says
about leaving?
i say
go, go, find what is lacking
find that which must complete you
and if you are empty still
do not come back to me
for i am empty too
how can emptiness fill another
emptiness?
mine will always be an invitation
i care
but once refused
there is no where
where you can find me
i am also gone
searching what you have been searching
but now it
shall not be you
i'll have someone else
who can fill
my own emptiness

How can I empty My Mind?
Came out that emptiness,
Bored of what I was,
Looking at the atom shining somewhere in me,
I looked at wonderful world I entered,
Looking at beauties with beautiful faces,
I was only the faceless,
Wished to have a face!
Result is what I am now,
Facing problems of having a face,
Not seen by myself!
Some say look into mirror,
But mirror showed image which is not me,
How can live this is me looking at image?
In the path I met some one,
They said ' you suffered a lot,
Empty your mind, be happy, '
But how can empty my mind,
So many fill it everyday,
Hungry faces,
thirsty minds,
Needy hands fill compassion,
lusty and greedy, selfish and cruel fill
people fill pain,
Wise one fill wisdom,
Fools fill laughter,
Friends fill it with love and smile!
How can I empty my mind,
When beauty around,
Smiling kids, playing puppies,
Jumping and running kittens,
colourful fragrant flowers,
Surrounded by bees and butterflies,
Green trees with wide hands full of fruits,
All call me to enjoy with them!
Tall standing trees and stubborn mountains,
lakes and oceans full of life,
they fill my mind as much I empty, more they fill!
I emptied mind in meditation,
But the beauty of one who filled beauty in all filled my mind,
How can empty love for that beautiful one,
Who is that beauty in all that's beautiful!
Smiling and loving people,

Melanie
Watching, driving thru the night, Im all alone
Empty endless road, a thousand miles to go
Midnight five million thoughts are passing in a row
Will you still be waiting there God only knows
I can still see your face in my mind, with every turn I take
The wind through my heart feels so cold, as it calls out your name
Melanie, nothing but the touch of your hand can rescue me
Oh, melanie, reach inside this emptiness and you can set me free
Morning, suns in my eyes, Im tied to your soul
One chance, one solitary life, how could I let you go
Got a phone call, or was it a dream, a voice spoke to me
I could swear it was you that I heard crying desperately
Melanie, nothing but the touch of your hand can rescue me
Oh, melanie, reach inside this emptiness and you will set me free
I can still see your face in my mind, with every turn I take
The wind through my heart feels so cold, as it calls out your name
Melanie, nothing but the touch of your hand can rescue me
Oh, melanie, reach inside this emptiness and you will set me free
Melanie, nothing but the touch of your hand can rescue me
Oh, melanie, reach inside this emptiness and you will set me free

Empty Night
I feel so empty inside
An emptiness I do not understand
Like a raven in the night
A dark dismal plight
Filled without moonlight
My emptiness stays in sight
Now that the raven takes flight
I am in non-delight

My Dark Dreams
I'm in the dark
And I'm lost
In my mind, screaming
Through the empty
Space, filled with no light
All I hear is my echo
I listen and hear the echo
Of silent breaking through the dark
Nothingness that consumes any light
That I don't see, in this lost
Place of empty
Dreaming, in which I scream
Soon as it stops, the screaming
High painful cry, and the echo
Fades, leaving me again in the empty
Hallow thoughts of my dark
Sleep, and wander through my mind lost
Of what I had, it was my light
What I had was like a warm light
That held me from the bitter screaming
Of the cold, it found me when I was lost
It covered me like a blanket, and echoed
Through my soul, with it I was never in the dark
And never left empty
Now, in my sleep, I am empty
The warm blanket of hte light
No longer holds me, but exposes me to the dark
And painful piercing screams
Of my own voice echoing
In my nightmares of what I've lost
I am lost
In the emptiness
Of my own pain, that echoes
Through me, and all I want again is the light
For it I scream
In my dreams, but all I get in the dark
I dream of the dark and I'm lost
My screaming is only heard by the empty
Space in my mind, where light shined, but there is only echo.

Today's Empty Thoughts....
today
he is unable to focus upon a certain idea
it is a waterfall.
he likes to grab a droplet of rain
his hands are filled with holes
he decides to lay his body on the grass
focus his eyes upon a star at night
there is no star, his eyes are closed
there is this kind of suspended feeling
like a frozen river, a fish got stuck on ice
a dragonfly trapped upon the web of a spider
there is this feeling of: what do i really think?
not what i want, but what is in my mind
there is this desert where everything that you see is sand
no camel, no moon, no oasis, no date palms, not even the shadow of a sand dune
the sounds of sighs come
you hear your self breathing for emptiness
you pause, rethinking, what is this?
you go inside it, trying to find if there is anybody there
it is empty. Yourself is not even there.
It is so real that you now doubt if an illusion exists at all.

Black Flowing Hair, A Memory Of You
I see you leaning by a wall next door
Against an afternoon sun
And though it is your back that faces me
I know
From the beating of my heart
That it is you, Black-flowing-hair
I can smell you
In mint
And you shall be inside me
As I breathe
So I can live for another time
You are
My tallest tree
On top of the Sleeping-dragon-mountain
And I look up to you
Like my full moon one cold night
Untouched by my fingers
Black-flowing-hair
The world may not have found love in my eyes
As I have none to boost
Since I have given it to you
All of it
I shall find it
But shall not take it back
From you
Your shadow is my god
And it is only that I can touch
Without you knowing
The shadow
Of your
Back
My self-made god
Is enough life
I do not ask much
I cannot
You do not know me
There is no need
I only give myself
I do not have to take any
In return
Now I declare
I have found my place
In you
I have found myself
In you
I have found you
I am Mute-white-dove -sitting
On the breast of Black-flowing-hair
Touching the clouds
Holding the rainbow
Saving all the raindrops of my life.

Until I get Over you
So many dreams inside my mind
That I pray it will come true
I have been searching, deep down on my soul
In a lonely river I have found
Like an empty shell longing for love
The one thing that I try to hold on too
I woke today thinking of you
Miserably starring the empty sky
The sun won’t shine since you went away
Seems like rain pouring everyday
Every night I sit by my window
Softly speaking on gust of wind
Faded shadow on obscure nights
That painted the sorrow of life
Wearing my mask on silence
Pretending it would be alright
A grief of a smile you will see in my eyes
Such a pity face that reflects on me
Lonely I am don’t look at me
Searching for love, where can I find.
Just a litter of tears to fill the emptiness
A ton of laughter to ease the pain
A half way of distance just to feel you
Until I get over you.

Full Of Emptiness
Full of emptiness
Broken promises
And love turned out so sad
The hurt goes on and on
Full of emptiness
Hello loneliness
Good friends will mind
The sands of time
Have slipped through my hands
From the bottom to the top
Why he had me feeling fine
Then I took a long long drop
When he walked out of my life
My world
Full of emptiness
That and something less
And memories of him
Have never seemed to be

There Is A Time When One Has Nothing Inside
THERE IS A TIME WHEN ONE HAS NOTHING INSIDE
There is a time when one has nothing inside
No birds sing
No longings demand their realization
Only the endless emptiness
Of what one has never been
The endless ambition to be
Without knowing what to be
Nothing inside
Endless hopelessness
Little fear
Waiting
No poem either
Nothing inside
But only
Emptiness
And more Emptiness
Like these lines
So small
So pathetic
So unworthy of ‘Poetry’
As if one’s life too
Were a meaningless passing of nothingness to nothing else.

Reminiscing.......
once you reminisce
a face, your eyes look attentively
the focus thins out
to the body
you spread some thoughts
that form a funnel
where all memories pass through
and settle
on the base of the bottle
it is empty
and then it becomes full
and pulls you deeper
you feel that you are sucked
by the mouth of
another emptiness
you struggle
the past becomes hands grabbing you
towards what
were buried a long time ago
it is hard to breathe some more
in this situation
where you are alone and crying
and screaming
but for one thing
there is no audible sound
there is no
visible tear
it is like Alice falling into the
hole of the rabbit
and so many possibilities happen
on the same ending
all pigments
to your red imagination
you pinch it
nothing shouts
there is no flesh
there is no bone.

Even Near You
from a distance you see an egg
white shell,
put it against the light
of your love,
i am empty.

i am really sorry
for this. i do not have you
inside this emptiness.
