Depressed Man In Bed....

rays of light
begin to penetrate
the holes of my
wall

light leaks
the beautiful day

but he is not
opening the windows
and the shutters
of his mind
insist on
another prolonged
sleep

there are so many
things to
do
creases of his life
to iron out

but he shall do nothing
about
all of them
there shall be no plan
no scheme
no itinerary for
the day
for the week

let life do it
what is its use
somehow?

A light in a Dark Night

Light shimmered in dark night,
Light tremors ran through my mind.
Light flickered on the wet path,
Life flashed in a moments time.

Light bounced and rainbow spread,
All memories of different shades.
Light showed a way,
Life gave a hope.

Rays are shining from distant light,
Present is shining from past life.

Interconnection

find for yourself how things and creatures really interconnect
find how the distant sun
has given life
to the blind fish
in the deepest sea

how the eel finally meets
the laddle

how the foot of the man found its way to the moon
and how we change our definition of the world

and ourselves
new names, new outlooks

opening the window
waking up and just letting the light from the shutters spread
seemingly endlessly stabbing the dark

finding that life is so beautiful and knowing that in a minute
you shall die

yes, i received his email which says that indeed he is dying
believe him
it does not matter to you anymore.

Sunbeams

The warming rays
streaming on the freshness
of the morning
The slanting rays
trembling between
the green leaves
The guiding rays
sneaking from the arched
roofs of the trees
The shimmering rays
spreading on the curtain panels
of the windows
The scorching rays
flaring on the barren
dry fields
The crimson rays
touching the bare path
like beads of rubies
The outward light fades
while the inward light
gleams to enlighten us.

Looking For An Opening

the guide for an opening is light
or water
on some crevices they always know
how to whisper
that in there there is an opening
and you must see it
and start from there
the message has always been
let there be light
so your eyes can see
let there be water
so you shall not thirst

darkness at the end had always been a loser
and dampness glows to a warmth of the spirit
what lies there soon flies
and the silence always turns into a very sweet song
there is hope
like a flower that grows in the wild
soon there shall be this meeting
of the most beautiful day
your feet shall begin to dance
your mind flying like a hawk
the skies all embracing

Turning Off The Lights

you say, you love light, its brightness
that reveals what had long been denied to you
by darkness,
you take it, and raise it and put it at the higher place
for that should be how it must be
everything is now obvious and you begin to see
the truth, and you say, at first, that this is beautiful,
and good, and you preach about light, its brightness,
you want all those that love you to have them too

time changes, seasons come and go, tastes not just sweetness
but bitterness, this is also truth, but this is not good,
this is ugly, and all the scenes pass before your eyes,
your parents, and brothers, they are carried by this rage
of the river of time, there was thunder and lightning at the background,
there is too much lighting, and you begin to dislike
what light has given you, brightness has become too harsh
for such a short life,
there is panic and fear now, you want to run but all the doors are closed,
and the windows refuse to open,
the clouds make the rain, and rain does not stop,
the sun still shines, no promises are broken, all for your love of light,
its brightness, now getting too sharp and too jagged, they hurt

you sit alone, you let the rain flood over you, you dislike water
there is too much of it, just like light, flooding over your senses,
they are no longer good, they are so ugly,
but what can you do? you wished for it and now it is given for free.

forgetting has taken your beloved away. Such a cruel goddess.
Now you are alone. You remember the night of sound sleep.
You remember when you said, once when we were small,
You want all the lights turned off, light hurts, and you cannot sleep.

and so, i turned off all the lights now. I shall not tell you anything.
You need sleep and dreams shall be there to comfort you.

Projection

you don't feel like talking
to myself yet i insist that we talk
things out
thresh the chaff from the grain
smoothen the edges
remove the creases
before the sun sets
you don't mind me at all
and now you are telling me
that i am angry at myself.

it is solved. You feel for me.
Now i can sleep.

I Could Have Stopped Writing

i could have stopped writing
some letters on my wall
some words on a clean sheet
of paper, i could have stopped
many years ago, when things
lack the luster of meaning
the shining hues of explanations,
steps do not traces steps
on the floor, and what the windows
see sometimes are so untrue
and my eyes are blinded
with so much light from the
slits of light coming from the
noonday roof,
i could have stopped writing
and tell myself: oh, there are more
important things in my life
to do, and there i may take
some colors for meaning
blue for peace and red for love
and violets for remembrances,

i could have stopped writing
but how could i? my throats dry up
my hands shrink, my heart grow holes
of hollowness, my lungs collapse,
my head falls off from my neck,
my body freezes, my ears close
inside its lobes,

i die without it. It is my life,
so how could i ever stop living?

Wallflower

6x6 - from wall to wall
Shutters on the windows, no light at all
Damp on the floor you got damp on the bed
Theyre trying to get you crazy - get you out of your head
They feed you scraps and they feed you lies
To lower your defences, no compromise
Nothing you can do, they day can be long
You mind is working overtime, you bodys not too strong
Hold on, hold on
They put you in a box so you cant get heard
Let your spirit stay unbroken, may you not be deterred
Hold on, you have gambled with your own life
And you face the night alone
While the builders of the cages
They sleep with bullets, bars and stone
They do not see your road to freedom
That you build with flesh and bone
They take you out - the light burns your eyes
To the talking room - its not surprise
Loaded questions from clean white coats
Their eyes are all as hidden as their hipppcratic oath
They tell you - how to behave, hehave as their guest
You want to resist them, you do your best
They take you to your limits, they take you beyond
For all that they are doing theres no way to respond
Hold on, hold on
They put you in a box so you cant get heard
Let your spirit stay unbroken, may you not be deterred
Hold on, you have gambled with your own life
And you face the night alone
While the builders of the cages
They sleep with bullets, bars and stone
They do not see your road to freedom
That you build with flesh and bone
Though you may disappear, youre not forgotten here
And I will say to you, I will do what I can do
You may disappear, youre not forgotten here
And I will say you you, I will do what I can do
And I will do what I can do
And I will do what I can do

Heart To Heart

This song appears on four albums, and was first released on the seasons of the heart album. it has also been released on the very best of john denver (double cd), the country roads collection an
Country classics albums.
I havent seen all there is to see
But Ive seen quite a bit
Some things Ill always remember
Some things I wish that I could forget
I havent quite been around the world
But Ive been around the block
I know that distances are meaningless
Like the hands that move around a clock
And I know that love is everywhere
Always safe, always true
And exactly where it comes from
Is where its going to
Your heart to mine
My heart to yours
Talk about opening windows
Talk about opening doors
My heart to yours
Your heart to mine
Love is a light that shines
From heart to heart
Here I am sitting in old hong kong
The harbor and the lights
Theyre like diamonds in the heavens
Enough to brighten the darkest of nights
Theres another side to sorrow
As there is to everything
Like the other side of lonely
Is falling in love again
And then you know that theres an answer
To the suffering we see
And though it isnt easy
Its still as simple as you and me
And youll know that love is everywhere
Always safe, always true
And exactly where it comes from
Is where its going to
Your heart to mine
My heart to yours
Talk about opening windows
Talk about opening doors
My heart to yours
Your heart to mine
Love is a light that shines
From heart to heart
Your heart to mine
My heart to yours
Talk about opening windows
Talk about opening doors
My heart to yours
Your heart to mine
Love is a light that shines

Moon's Drop, Stellar Tears

That is memorized ray of your life
Little light inside my heart
Can you see light of life?
One in each
Sparkling light
Plentiful light
Lights that connect with
Mother, child, or lover that will be sad
If the light disappear
Can you feel light of life?
That most beautiful in the world
One in each
That would never be changed

Questions Above

Many questions, seventy times seven, may be asked once in Heaven,
Our thoughts about the patriarchs, one or more questions this sparks,
Or maybe questions about this life, just why so much pain and strife?
Or the things we can't comprehend; may prompt questions in the end.

But with a pure mind and heart, many of those questions shall depart,
This when we enter into Eternal Life, now, with the pure mind of Christ,
Former things remembered no more, as we step on that eternal shore,
With an eternal mindset instead, as past is behind with Eternity ahead.

The things we could not comprehend, shall come to light at that bend,
The final turn at the end of our life, as we see the face of Jesus Christ,
With our glorified body and mind, those former things are well behind,
Many questions we may have asked, may be faded things of our past.

Most things from the former time, shall pale in the light of the sublime,
As the Crystal Sea and streets of gold, with our Lord our eyes behold,
Mindful now, of the things to come, as we enter, His Eternal Kingdom,
A Kingdom that shall not pass away, one, where we'll be there to stay,

Many things that we now ponder, may fade away as we get up yonder,
Earthly things will lose their allure, as we begin a new life for evermore,
Many questions now thought of, will likely fade in His presence above,
As Christ answers more than we ask, when we begin, that Eternal Task.

Beautiful Morning

What a beautiful morning
The best in life is free

What a beautiful morning
Believe me

What a mystery
Though the world's on fire
Yesterday's hard words is still in my head
I feel no despair
No regrets or sorrows
Cause this new day
Makes me dance on air

What a golden day

What a beautiful morning in my life
The best in life is free
I give it all away
And I wonder what more is to come
And this beautiful morning changed my mind
Believe me when I say
The shadows fading out

As the day grows bright
We are turning pages
And we write new chapters of our life
Some are strong and long
Others weak with sorrows
Keep the focus on the rising sun

What a golden day

What a beautiful morning in my life
The best in life is free
I give it all away
And I wonder what more is to come
And this beautiful morning changed my mind
Believe me when I say
Shadows fading out

Believe me - crows will always fly
Believe me - they are only birds
You have to
You have to let go and you will see things in a different light

What a beautiful morning
What a beautiful morning
Believe me

What a beautiful
What a beautiful morning...

Believe me

Power generation
You live up your life and it feels like fire
Suspended in animation
A trick of the light and it drives you higher
Blind vision blind faith
You really can be sold
If you dare to disagree
Its just not within the scheme of things
To give up your life so easily
Thats not the way youre meant to be
What a waste of time and energy
Its just not within the scheme of things(live your life)
To give up your life so easily, easily(Ill be there)
Psychic celebration
Look up in the stars and see venus rising
Rapture, fascination
You live for the night and your own desire
Blind vision blind faith
You really cant rely
On what they tell you for effect
Its not just within the scheme of things(live your life)
To give up your life so easily
Thats not the way youre meant to be(I do care)
What a waste of time and energy
Its just not within the scheme of things(live your life)
To give up your life so easily
Thats not the way youre meant to be(Ill be there)

Still Sleepy (but cannot sleep)

a red rose with
sixteen petals
dew on one of those
three leaves
seventeen thorns
a blue butterfly fluttering
and now hovering
proboscis
connecting

dawn, cold air
twilight, light seeping in
my mind
three hundred sheep
i am still not asleep

in my mind
light, warm light breaks in
through the shutters
of my mind ....

Rainbow Flickers

Morning breaks.
Shafts of rainbow's light
flood the stained windows
of last week's existence.

The radiance plays
iridescent games
in the shadows of my slumber,
forcing recognition
of a new beginning.

I peel back the shutters,
exposing the dim recesses
to the new day,
and wonder what may lie in store
at the end of that rainbow.

In His House Of Standard Things

to make perhaps an impression of what is beautiful
he lets me in his house
he gives me some drinks and he begins to tell me
what indeed is beautiful

he chooses his colors
mostly green with whites embedded like pearls
on blue green seaweeds under a deep blue sea

he chooses the shapes that fit
mostly spherical and embossed
he likes static things like sculptures of the
busts of great men that he adores

light is not as bright as he wants it to be
more of dusks and twilights
for he does need not so much light to make his life visible
he likes the touch of silk and threads
he adores the gentleness of the wind
exquisitely plucked from a dawning breeze

and then after i have seen them all
he asks me to leave
it is a matter of simply having me in
for a showroom
a lecture on what is beautiful

how i wish to be back in that house again
green and white and shades of these two colors
but it is over
and the house has since been flown to the sky
and its doors and windows closed
and the door bell
had since been concealed with a thick wall
and the gate is locked with steel bars

well, for wherever he is
and whether his house was real or not
let me say, (and that i really forgot)
thank you sir

tomorrow, i will build a house of my own
but it will not be green and white
i will choose the pastel orange side of things like the sunset of my life
and some reds and pinks for the love of my life

Oh Light

Oh light, oh light, you shine so bright tonight
You naively place your rays upon them
You give them shine and oh they shine so bright
But soon it will be them that you condemn
They feed and feed on rays you freely give
Until there’s nothing but an empty space
While your light fades and you just want to live
Their ignorance is your true fall from grace
But picking up those pieces is your gift
Oh lost little light don’t give up just yet
And off of the floor you yourself shall lift
As your spark of light is not done, it’s set
Now go out and be a lovely sunflower
And catch some rays from a life giving shower

God sometimes grants your prayer to punish you....

do not insist. God has a way of punishing
your unreasonable widow
persistence, the Greeks are warned
about Wooden Horses,
and Achilles' heels,
do not insist. Don't you know that sometimes
God grants prayers
purposely to punish
those who are hardheaded?
Pray what God wills you to be.
Do not insist.
God knows better
Before you were born
He knows what is in store for you
Till the last
breath. Till you dropp dead.
So do not insist
Natural laws cannot be compromised.
Legal laws maybe.
Man made ones, those that twist
and pride on
Compromises.

Do not insist. Let God flow inside your
Heart. Let the seeds grow
As he sets the fertile soil
of the mind
As he gives the light in your
Sun.
As he prunes and cuts
and Makes you
The most beautiful tree
within the forest of your tangled
hairs.
