Sorcerer's soppy land!
A famine is a widespread scarcity of food. This phenomenon is usually accompanied or followed by regional malnutrition, starvation, epidemic, and increased mortality.
Emergency measures in relieving famine primarily include providing deficient micronutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, through fortified sachet powders or directly through supplements. The famine relief model increasingly used by aid groups calls for giving cash or cash vouchers to the hungry to pay local farmers instead of buying food from donor countries, often required by law, as it wastes money on transport costs.Long-term measures include investment in modern agriculture techniques, such as fertilizers and irrigation, which largely eradicated hunger in the developed world. World Bank strictures restrict government subsidies for farmers, and increasing use of fertilizers is opposed by some environmental groups because of its unintended consequences: adverse effects on water supplies and habitat
I sowed some other land
And he has taken the reap?
I left aside
With empty hands
And the fertilizer
Gone with the wind!

Knowledge Shall Increase
Learned people in the world gain more knowledge as each day goes by,
Unfortunately they never seem to acknowledge The Lord up in the sky.
Diplomas, certificates, and achievements are their present disguise,
But, The Lord up above will make foolishness the wisdom of the wise.
In the Bible the prophet Daniel stated that knowledge would increase,
However, in light of this increasing knowledge where is their peace.
Even in this world there's a peace to be found, this you can be sure,
But this peace is not of the world, but in the knowledge of The Lord.
The Lord also spoke of a famine that will spread throughout the land,
But his is not the normal famine of food that is known to common man.
It will be a spiritual famine, a worldwide famine of God's Holy Word,
Men's hearts will become harder, even some of those who have heard.
Soon all of the knowledge of the earth will be a thing of the past,
While only the knowledge of The Lord through all Eternity will last.
Man's wisdom and knowledge can be necessary down here on the earth,
But the knowledge for Heaven is higher and must include a New Birth.
This knowledge required for Eternity you will find in only one place,
It is found in God's Holy Bible, which we received through His Grace.
This knowledge is essential for everyone, when all is said and done,
For the only knowledge that will save you, is knowledge of The Son.

Irish Potato Blight Death Taxed
Dying with green mouthes
eating green grass.
Famine food equalled
cursed evermore sea food.
Starvation was annihilation
of many families who never fled.
British took household herds
for taxes left farmers for dead.

It Is A Bleak Season For Farmers
It is a bleak Season for farmers with climate change and livestock prices down
Some of them have sold what they can sell and moved to live and to find jobs in the town
For many of them the rains have come too late climate change affecting everywhere
Global warming is in every Country in the bigger World out there
Some arrogant Humans think they can control Nature how come they have got it so wrong
How egotistical they must be for to think they can control the one we to belong
For we too are a part of Nature as much as her creatures of sea and of land
And she will always be our master though some that do not understand
Many farmers due to climate change the land are leaving and that seems a sad thing to say
With less farmers less food in the supermarket but the wealthy they will be okay
For a farm food scarcity means higher food prices but for food they can afford for to pay
'Tis the poor will be condemned to suffer in times of food scarcity 'tis always this way
It is a bleak Season for farmers and that is a sad thing to hear
And for the have nots of the World it looks like another bleak year.

So Loftily Silent
Why buy newspapers when you refuse to discuss
anything appearing in it, totally unconcerned that
the farmers are tortured on their farms, killed for
their money and livestock - as long as YOU are
safe in a cushy job while the rest of the country
burns and dies and goes down the drain, you
simply will not say anything
FINE, swallow your bloomin' newspapers, delight
in your existence without sympathy wasted on farmer
martyrs - their function of food provision does not
concern anybody, especially the government, who
cares what happens to anybody as long as they
are safe far away from children suffocated in
boiling water, people burned with hot irons
Why should you care, you can import food from
overseas or anywhere, who needs farmers here
in South Africa, you cannot be bothered even to
express sympathy with their fate, may you wash
your hands in innocence while the country burns,
following your political masters who see the land
as just another Tunisia to be sucked dry
By government and all their acolytes; destroy all
private business until the state is bankrupt and
international groups must administrate the remains
of their destruction - oh well, I am glad you are all
so happy while these people cry unto heaven -
retribution follows when people are exploited,
hope you will be so loftily silent then…

Spiritual Famine
There is a famine within the land, as men hunger to understand,
The deeper issues of men’s ways, in these ever changing days.
It’s a famine of a spiritual kind, starving the heart and the mind,
In times that steadily darken, God’s Word men will not hearken.
Instead they lean upon creeds, to fill the deeper spiritual needs,
Needs from within their soul; which makes man spiritually whole.
Though religious they hunger still, as creed is not the Lord’s will,
The Lord’s ways are much higher, and Relationship is His desire.
Fellowship’s what the soul requires, to fulfill its deepest desires,
Man’s creed alone doesn’t equip, the heart for God’s fellowship.
That is why God sent His Son, to be The Mediator for everyone,
Who leaves behind empty creed, for Christ alone fills their need.
We are fed The Word of God, as Christ leads with staff and rod,
Feeding our soul with God’s Truth, with abundant lives as proof.
Avoiding famine we chose instead, His diet of life giving bread,
Following the words of Christ, the Living Truth and Bread of Life.
As the famine grips this world, Eternal Truths we need to herald,
Warning all seduced by mammon, they’ll be defeated by famine.
Only The Word of God can lead, to the prosperity we truly need,
And The Lord’s eternal prosperity, starts at the Cross of Calvary.

Mute Hunger
An ache perforates veins deep
Blood cold as moods of night
tears fall on food I eat
tears fall on food withered
Filled platters, piled up trash bins
Plastic flash cards' redeemed poise
Classy high end festive foyers
Dim lit reckless long end revelry
Minds relaxed on refined comforts
jaded dried leaves spread apart
life shriveled, cry for food
hear my heart from unknown souls
bracing measures count on scales
reversed ravage Friday flings
cried my mind on third world famine
poor souls' handcuffed hunger
Mute, deaf, dumb hunger
Strange unknown silent anguish....
Genuine thud on unarmed door steps
Benign heart you listen please....
Don’t, don’t waste fuel of life
Dear reader friends,
All over the world humans throw food to trash boxes, listen the cries of hunger, please don’t waste food, it is precious... Millions are dying in the third world of hunger.
A fresh estimate from the ministry of food processing says a whopping Rs 58,000 crore (Rs 580 billion) worth of agriculture food items get wasted in India every year resulting artificial demand, price hike and food shortage. People below poverty line are the sufferers.
Private consulting firm Rabo India Finance has prepared the food wastage report and presented it to the ministry.Quoting from the report, Minister of State for Food Processing told the Parliament that the fact that such a huge quantity of food items goes as waste in the country is an eye-opener.

Inefficient World Food Production Distribution
food waste
one country
say old Italy
800 million tonnes
of fruit picked sold
from fruit trees
750 million tonnes
left to rot
never picked
every year
market price
market fixed
market profit
not worth picking
costs more picking
than sold price paid
what a waste?
millions die wanting
millions die starving
millions die hurting
in an inefficient world?
now it is raining
luxury fruits
cherries peaches
blemish on trees
never sold
never eaten
never saves lives
harvest
process
serves
still in old Italy
20 million tones
spoils to market
more money paid
waste paid collected
paid in dump charges
can we not do better?
Italy is but one country
waste in global community
sickens sweet bull commodity
in an electronic age
can we not do better
reduce waste food
shortage shame deficiencies?
China India hungry markets
2.5 billion people droughts floods
increasing phenomena purchases
on global markets now
are undermining food
global world prices now
world’s poorest farmers
are key to deficit farmers’ food
production improvement
efficiency management is key
rising food demand increases
on a waste finite land planet
time for think
tank
needed solutions?

I Meant It
To you it was funny
When they were using my money,
And now you're so far in debt...
You may as well stay there!
It wouldn't be cost effective to bail you out!
'Feast or famine? '
You talking to me?
You sat on pews to pray.
Drove many a day past me
Without a nod or a sign that we had met.
That you are going through a 'phase'
Is something I regret...
Like the time you left me stranded.
Knowning I was damn near on my hands and knees!
I'll take the feast...
You can have the famine!
And the empty space you say I left in your heart!
Remember?
You left me.
I just agreed not to give a damn.
And I meant it!

Famine victims in Africa! !
Onions, opinions, millions, billions, trillions, zillions;
But expressing my views with what i've seen around,
However, this hardships of the famine are now seen on your Television sets as well.
Surgery can lead to disfiguration,
And like the muse of the famine victims of Africa! !
But, i am Cowper who wants to put in my help for the others;
Because, this famine in Africa is so severe.

Agriculture is now a motorized food industry, the same thing in its essence as the production of corpses in the gas chambers and the extermination camps, the same thing as blockades and the reduction of countries to famine, the same thing as the manufacture of hydrogen bombs.

I Can Still Help
I can still help if you want me to,
Because you are hungry and have no food;
For we were all created by the Creator!
And, i am ready to do my best for you.
Wake up and live now,
Wake up and let me know your problems in life!
For i want to offer my helping hands to you,
And like the muse of your love in the land of famine.

Harare
The midsummer sun hangs flaming
over the capitol city
which is painted white,
(the same colour as the graves)
in a country
stripped from the white man’s might,
stripped from providing
and exporting food, minerals
and products
where the value of the currency
changes faster than the billion dollar number
printed on the worthless bills.
Just here and there a car moves
as the country is without fuel
and even the traffic lights
are not working
(and neither are most people)
as the electricity is down.
.
The rural farms stand stripped bare
with primitive peasants
living there in utter poverty
and the fertile soil is vacant
as everything has being taken
by the people
(by force from farmers)
and now nobody has anything
and nothing has being planted
on a commercial scale
and famine is getting
to chaotic lengths
and the people
have returned to the land
to find a resting place there.
Children play under flowering jacaranda trees
in a light hot breeze
with stomachs swollen from hunger
and slime running from noses
and flies wandering over their faces
and some men urinate
against the nearest tree.
The street is filled with fear,
poverty, hunger, pestilence and death
and soldiers stand around idle
smoking cigarettes
longing back to the days
when they went as the fifth brigade
to the south west regions
and killed Ndebele people
plundering their villages,
raping their woman
and slaughtering the children.
Still there’s no sound
of real opposition, as apposing politicians
are arrested and beaten
time after time
by the police
and an out voted president,
a man proclaiming to be a Jesuit,
remains in the ruling chair
and the secret police is everywhere
and he holds out a begging hand
to neighbouring countries
for fuel, electricity, food and medicine
and whatever he wants
and it’s quite easy to head south
even if you have to crawl,
walk, take a bicycle,
a car, a bus or a train
to a neighbouring country
where the colour of your skin
counts much more
than a place of birth.

In East Africa
He was rich,
She was rich,
But there were many poor people around them!
And like what is now seen in East Africa.
Painfully and wistfully,
But to be certain with the muse of care! !
For drought, hunger, famine and starvation are now seen on my people in East Africa!
And the bullets of war in Somalia are also hindering the inflow of the food donated to them.

We must then build a proper relationship between the richest and the poorest countries based on our desire that they are able to fend for themselves with the investment that is necessary in their agriculture, so that Africa is not a net importer of food, but an exporter of food.

Transfixed
A Dior-clad skeleton, lipstick perfect,
brilliant specimen advertising disaster
relief while illustrating famine effects
A self-centred fashion icon starving to
death in an attempt to stay fatally slim
dying in two or three weeks at least
Keeping to a masochistic regime, she
shall be dead soon; I stare transfixed
such a fate could never befall me
I top up all ‘faux pas’ in food intolerance
management diet by adding more food-
stuffs to keep liver and kidneys busy
Leaving insufficient time to process the
allergens, lessening physical and
emotional distress
